Vault is a Madison Kate Novella but is intended to be read after the Hades series as several events overlap and this story DOES contain multiple spoilers for the Hades series.

Please consult the recommended reading order for Shadow Grove World on my website if you are uncertain what order to read the books in.
This novella is set on a timeline parallel to the events of Club 22 and Timber.

Once again. This story WILL spoil the Hades series for you if you haven’t read or finished it prior to picking this up.

You’ve been warned.

I should not have been surprised (but I was) by the amount of smut in this novella.
Though I loved there were multiple POVs!

There were some really sweet moments between MK and her guys.

I’m guessing that whole Hermes plot was to connect this novella to the upcoming series; The Guild.
Or to show MK as a kind diamond mine owner?

Something I thought about while reading this was that we learned so much about Archer, Steel and Kody within their series, allowing me to connect with it more.
But with Hades’ guys, I didn’t get that same feeling. Sure, we learned some things but to me, it felt a little hollow.

It was great hearing Brooke Daniels voice again! Though, the way she read some lines was a little off for me.
Then Lucas Webley really exaggerated Kody’s accent (that was much lighter in the first couple books). Not a bad thing but for some reason, I kinda found it funny.

The spice is 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I’m still team Archer 🙌🏻 this book answered some questions i still had about the MK series and I’m so happy we got this! Tate never misses

As much as I LOVE the Madison Kate series, and loved being back with these characters after being with them 3 years ago, I felt like this novella was pretty pointless! It’s 90% smut, and a random plot line about a diamond that’s started and finished in 50 pages and I have no idea if it will bare any relevance to the rest of the shadow grove world 😂

A bit random, but happy to read more Kody & Steele (I still can’t stand Archer)

I absolutely love MK and her boys so much words can’t describe it. Tate, if you’re reading this just know I’d sell my soul for another MK book… too soon? Okay, fine I’ll just be thankful you gave us this one. Also Archer may be my new favorite now.

I’m almost scared to re-read the Madison Kate series because the first time I read it, I loved it - I thought it was super campy and fun and just a wild, sexy ride… but I’m worried that on re-read, I’ll see the flaws.

It already happened while I was reading the Hades series - I didn’t have the same “new to reverse harem” rose colored glasses on and I found it really lacking in relationship development. Tate James does banter and twists really well, and her books are entertaining as hell - but…

This novella was fan service - which isn’t an insult! I love when authors do things for their readers (like J Bree re-writing book 2 of the Hannaford Prep series to be from the guys POV). Was this novella necessary? No - but it was for the fans who want a bit more time with MK and the guys.

I would count myself as one of those people, but it still fell flat for me. I think the formulaic sex scenes were just a little… boring - I was skipping them! The plot was meh. It’s cool that

Man I don’t know what was the point of this, and the smut was so repetitive that I had to skim through it so

Fast-paced, funny, sexy, fun. I am never going to get tired of this foursome. Even in a short volume like this one, they shine.

This novella was everything I need and more. I did have a few things I would have loved to see when we left the MK series and this novella satisfied everything. I’ve missed this group so much and am so happy to see them again. I don’t think I’ll ever tire of them or the Shadow Grove universe. If you loved MK, you definitely need this in your life. Plus the cover is absolutely gorgeous.

Reading a MK book after finishing Hades just solidifies how much more I enjoy Hades over MK.

That being said, this was fun! We get to see what MK and gang were up to while chaos was unfolding in Shadow Grove (between Club 22 and Timber). This is 100% fan service since this book is just MK continuously getting railed by her harem as well as some sweet lovable moments between the four of them. I wouldn't say this is required reading if you're going through the Shadow Grove books, though a thief we haven't met yet is name dropped in this and I'm pretty sure this thief is the same one that's mentioned in Timber, but it's nice for those with a soft spot for these characters.

Didn’t love but didn’t hate it! READ THIS AFTER YOU READ THE HADES SERIES…IT CONTAINS SPOILERS!! (i didn’t read it but it’s okay it didn’t made sense to me lol) the plot revolves around it too so that is why I went in there for the spice. It delivered but wanted more… :) Anyways, I love these characters and it’s a great addition to this world.

last part of the Madison Kate series! I have waited to read this novella for months since it’s recommended to read after the Hades series. kind of bummed they are written that way because after reading a separate 4-book series it was hard to jump back into these character’s lives.

I’m glad we were able to see a little more of their story but I think this would’ve hit harder if I read it directly after MK book 4. If not for the last few sentences I don’t think it spoils enough of Hades to wait and read it after :/ still an cute read though!

(I don’t rate novellas)

MK, Wittenberg Heir and still my favorite person. The novella occurs during the same timeline where Archer, Steele & Kodiak are tasked to keep Steph safe as a favor to Hades. However, they hate that they cannot protect MK first, because she will ALWAYS be their main priority. Of course, Archer snaps and Steph overhears the conversation which was a breaking point to her running away and getting snatched — but it worked out to get them off the task of protecting her.

There’s also a scene where someone broke into the original Brilliance vault, and took The Wittenberg Diamond. MK goes to resolve that issue and she handles it perfectly. She is attempting to put herself through online business school so that one day she can run her own multibillion-dollar corporate empire. AS SHE SHOULD ❤️‍🔥.

WE GOT PROPOSALS. Arch was possessive and jealous of course, so he was so moody because he hates the idea of not being the only one married to MK. Of course, he loves the guys and he’s only willing to share with them 🫶. Kodiak put so much effort into his proposal and he was genuinely concerned she would say no ☹️, as if MK would ever do that. Meanwhile, Steeles proposal was so HIM and he planned the entire wedding in secret, I loved it 🖤. I missed being in their POV so much and I truly adore them — definitely some of my favorite characters this year.

Kody’s backstory hurt my soul and I wish that had been talked about more in the other books. He deserves the world and I hate that he went through all that alone, but found the boys eventually. I’m glad they have their little family now. The way he got so excited when he thought MK was pregnant was so precious, maybe one day they’ll start their family (of course she said to ask again when she’s 30)!!

All three of them still have the best dynamic and I adore them. MK is still the BEST fmc and doesn’t let Archer get away with his shit even when he’s mad. She always knows how to get her way with the guys, love my best girl 💛. I cant believe she no longer has pink hair, I actually miss that.

𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥, I have no complaints I personally adored this and I want more of this RH … best characters in the Shadow Grove universe IMO.

Wow, I had no idea how much I missed these characters until I was in their world again. This is a fun and extremely hot little novella in the MK and Hades universe. But you have to have completed the Hades series first in order to read it. Because there are some spoilers in this book.

There really isn't too much I feel like I can say without spoiling the novella so I'll just keep it short. We get little tidbits of what's happening while MK and the boys are watching Seph. And what happens between the four or them after she goes home.

This was such a great gift for Tate to give us. Not many authors let readers revisit their favorite characters again and for that alone I have to say thank you to Tate. And also yell at her, cause now I just want more. It was a tease of the highest degree, and now I'm craving more.

I have to applaud Tate as well, for a book under 200 pages she fit decent plot and a ton of spicy scenes into this book. I don't know if it's just me getting picky now that I've read so many great RH's, but I personally expect a certain amount of spice with a RH, and even with this being a novella, Tate killed it.

I also really love that through the entirety of the book she alternates between MK and the boys POV's. Usually Tate just does one of the MMC's POVs in the beginning of a book and the rest is from the MFC's POV. But I always prefer when it has all the main characters. So this was really refreshing.

This is a must read if you've read MK and Hades series and want to dive back into this universe before Honey Trap comes out!

It was so good being back with MK, Steele, Kody and Archer omg 😍.
This was a scorching hot novella, giving us a little insight about Hermes and their possible involvement with Nadia’s returned Faberge egg…
But all in all, it was a super romantic fck fest and I enjoyed every minute of it 🤣👌🏻

What can I say that I haven't already said about Tate James and the Madison Kate series. I love these characters so much and to get this short little novella of just seeing these characters happy and in love was everything that I needed and more. Thank You Tate for writing this. So much joy and happiness was brought into my life this month from 121 pages. What a joy. Now I need to do another reread of this series again.

Certainly no typo here- this novella is legit, and I could not love this Madison Kate novella more! Vault is the perfect nexus of nostalgia sparkle and world advancing intrigue- and I ravenously gobbled it up.

This is triumphant, and surprinsgly swoony and tender, return to Madison Kate and her super sexy harem of men. And it is resplendent with everything I adore about this series- Mk's snark, melt your panties sexiness, a bit of gritty danger and an unexpected mystery, and the intoxicating character chemistry that made me fall so madly in love with this series. Kody, Archer, and Steele all have quite delicious (and in some cases unexpectedly emotional) moments to shine, and our heroine MK shows up in all her sassy, fierce, and ball-busting glory to remind us just why she's the queen.

We do have some unexpected action and intrigue - it seems these danger loving bunch just can't seem to escape trouble, but this story shines the most as Tate both helps us marinate in the post-HEA bliss of this harem and as she advances their love story further. MK and the guys are maturing, growing up and growing together- and this novella not only continues their story, but enhances it, in a really charming and lovable way. I even got misty a time or two- I just love them so.

Tate also cleverly situates this in the broader Shadow Grove narrative- so not only do you need to have read the MK series to be up to speed, but the action in this story is connected to Hades as well, and there will be both spoilers and confusion if you've not Club 22 (book 3) of Hades first. The story takes place between Club 22 and Timber.

Vault is an unexpected treat- but a welcome one. It was great to revisit the heads of some of my favorite Tate characters and get to be dazzled by their magic all over again.

Fun little novella bringing us back to the main four characters in the Madison Kate series.

It takes place during the events in the Hades series, so it definitely makes sense to finish Hades before reading Vault.

Reading this actually made me miss those four characters so it was nice to catch back in with them and see what they’ve been up to after their series ended. I loved that we got a little extra backstory for Kody because out of the three MMCs I felt he lacked a bit of background. Tate filled us in a bit on his childhood and it was nice.

This was just a fun easy, spicy read.

A book a didn't know I needed, but absolutely loved

I was so sad to leave Madison Kate and her guys behind once her series ended. I was excited to see we would get another future glimpse and it didn't disappoint. It was steamy and sweet and just exactly what I hoped it would be.

Re-read: I love these people so much

Original review:
surprise surprise!! i loved this!!!! i'm not entirely sure how tate fit a boat load of steam, pain, and the BEST feel good moments into a little 140 page novella--magic, probably--but man, she really did that. if you've read the madison kate series, but have yet to dive into hades, you MUST so that you can read this novella without spoiling the hades series for you! vault takes place during the events of club 22 and will spoil HUUUGE parts of that book and timber as well, so proceed with caution!!
·
i missed this crew so so much in a way that doesn't even go away by re-reading mk so getting new madison kate, archer, steele, and kody content is everything i could have asked for and more. it was almost like getting an extended epilogue and i am an absolute sucker for those. i didn't think it was possible but my love fot these characters grew tenfold, especially my kodiak jones 🥰
·
as expected, this was 100% perfection and if you've been looking for a madison kate fix, this is the perfect story to get you out of that slump. or make you miss them more. probably more but its worth it. thank you tate for making this the BEST riot night ever!!
