Scott wants it all; an alpha and a family of his own. But for now he's content to be the cool uncle. It's hard to be patient sometimes, but Scott knows that his perfect alpha is out there somewhere. In the meantime he's taking care of his niece, and decides to take her to the nearest pumpkin patch for a day of fall fun. But when she gets lost in the corn maze he panics.
Dom's ready for a new start, he just needs to get his business off the ground.
Dom just moved back to Valle Granja in order to start his own business as a large animal vet. Unfortunately there's not much for him to do while waiting for his license and other important paperwork to be processed. So in the meanwhile he's helping out his uncle on the family's pumpkin patch. But he doesn't expect to help a gorgeous omega in crisis mode.
Neither man expected to find the other that way, but when it's right, it's right.
Pumpkin Patch Cutie is a 14.5K word , non-shifter, M/M, Mpreg romance
I’m happily starting a new series by Lacey Daize. I love being in her Alpha/ Omega world. This story is as sweet as everything else I’ve read by her. It’s short, but makes me smile.
This was a short quick read from an author that I have read before. Omega Scott takes his niece Madison to a pumpkin patch maze where she gets lost. Alpha Dominic "Dom" is working at his uncles pumpkin patch while waiting on his license he is a large animal vet who moved back home to open his own practice they meet when Dom finds Madison but leaves before Scott can thank him. They both know it is something special about the other. When they meet up again they end up going out on a date. This was an Insta love story. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Very short and very insta-love. Not much drama or conflict here, just a super sweet m-preg romance. I wanted a little more about Dom's vet practice and more details about Scott's pregnancy.
This isn't my first MPreg book that I've read- not even taking out of FF... but it might have been the oddest?
I'm sure it's mostly due to its length, but the instalove, mated after a couple of days thing was a bit too much even for me. Also, I knew about it going in but the pregnancy trope just isn't my favourite, coupled with the mad rush that was this book... Idk, just not great but kind of sweet, funny, steamy, halloweeny, MM omegaverse novella. If you like all of those things maybe pick this one up, but don't go in expecting a short book. This felt more like 5 chapters strung together: not bad, but also not enough.
This was so cute and sweet! I loved the pumpkin patch meet-cute, I loved the insta-love, and I loved the cozy vibes. This was a perfect little fall treat and it’s getting three and a half stars!
4.5 ⭐s A Sweet Slice of Pumpkin Season This was a very sweet novella taking place in an Omegaverse. Lacey Daize is a writer who is really good at telling stories that almost seem like fairy tales. The two men in this story have an immediate attraction but initially neither does anything about it.
I enjoyed the backgrounds of each man. One is a large animal veterinarian planning to start his own practice at his Uncle's urging. Having a price gouging vet angering large animal owners in the area is something I can sympathize with.
The close family ties that the vet shared was something his new love experienced as well. Scott helped out his brother and brother-in-law by babysitting his busy precocious seven-year-old niece over a weekend to give them some alone time. He couldn't help feeling jealous of his brothers wonderful relationship. But what it actually did was prepare Scott for his mating with Dominic. A lot of the action in this story that I really enjoyed takes place at the Pumpkin Patch and Maze owned by Dominic's family.
-- quick easy read -- none shifter mpreg -- insta everything -- sweet -- fluffy -- family -- likeable MCs... Scott & Dom -- too short to fully connect -- less than 75 pages
I get it, Mpreg is not for everyone, it's probably one of the "out therest" of "out there" but if we can't look outside the box in our own readings once in a while then what's the point of being a reader? My experience in the genre is still limited to only a few authors but when I discovered Lacey Daize's books I definitely found a winner. The characters, the settings, and omegaverse world building is quite detailed and that's not something you often find in mostly novella-length stories. I'll admit I chose this author first primarily because they often fit the holiday themes for my blog but I really loved them, so no matter what brought them to my shelf, they earned their spot in storytelling stay-ability.
As for Pumpkin Patch Cutie, well frankly the title says it all. Omega Scott is ready for the whole family shebang but until he finds his alpha he is more than satisfied with his uncle role. What better way to fill that role than taking his niece to the local pumpkin patch and maze. There is a bit of location issues and his uncle mode kicks in trying to find her. Not sure which is the real pumpkin patch cutie: Scott the panicked uncle, Madison the lost niece, or out-of-nowhere hero alpha Dom who himself is helping his own uncle by working the season at his patch? All three could hold the title and they all help turn the cutest of cute meets into full on forever romance.
Pumpkin Patch Cutie is short, sweet, and all kinds of yummy. Is it too short? Perhaps, I certainly hated to say goodbye to Scott & Dom but some times short is perfect, especially when it involves some heartwarming holiday yummilicous vibes. I won't say more just know that if you have been enjoying Lacey Daize's Holiday Surprise series then this will strengthen that love and if you're new to the series be ready to blown over by a marvelous blend of sweet, sassy, and sexy in the entry that jumpstarted the series.
I really am. But I still don’t get the whole… thing. Like, I can totally get behind MPREG, and this was an adorable little OTT, super sappy, extremely cheesy love story. But.. I just.. I’m really trying to understand why, in humans—Omegaverse or whatever or not—there’s knotting, growling, marking mates with biting… that all really screams shifter stuff to me, and I’m doing my best to just.. go with it? Yeah, gonna go with that. Knocked a star off for some editing stuff and the fact that I think a few more pages to add in some depth would’ve benefited the story. There’s sappy and then there’s shallow. This almost read a bit shallow for the amount of emotion you were expected to have for the characters and their situation. Which, if I think about it, really seemed to be like, fated? Or whatever you want to call it. But Dom said they weren’t that, because it didn’t feel like that, but it read like it definitely was that… so there’s that. I don’t know. I have a lot of thoughts and questions and opinions, but we’ll leave it at 4/5, confused and willing to keep reading, because at least there’s full consent in here and it seems pretty safe so far to try and learn with this novella series.
Pumpkin Patch Cutie is the first book in the ‘Holiday Surprise’ series. It stars Scott, an omega, and Dom, an Alpha and Livestock veterinarian. This is told in first person through both Scott and Dom’s povs.
Scott has his niece for the weekend takes her to a corn maze. While waiting to pay, he meets an alpha who has his tongue twisted and heart fluttering. Trying to ignore the obvious, he makes an attempt to enjoy the evening's festivities.
Dominic "Dom" returns to Valle Granja to start his own large animal vet clinic. Until al the paperwork falls into place, he fills up the time by working on his uncle's pumpkin patch. He encounters an omega that gives him that goofy grin. But doesn't make any moves.
An emergency circumstance brings them together. Scott's niece is lost in corn maze. They find her but lose one another once more until the grocery store. Seems the salad dressing aisle held the power to their first date.
When you read "In Heat" before learning that the characters are paranormal, you question what you are reading real quick. I laughed so hard!!
This was my first Mpreg read and I found it to be an interesting concept. I won't shy away from reading more. But, I do not understand the "birth aspect. "push"? Why not use c-sections with this concept? With so many birthing people requiring them in real life, I would think that making it the norm in a "Male pregnancy" would make more sense...
1st person, past tense, dual POV Scott, omega Dom, alpha
'Tis the season. I'm an absolute sucker for holiday reads so stumbling across this little gem was a real treat. If the synopsis speaks to you then you will enjoy this drama-free ride. Keep in mind that it is a lightning fast read so there isn't really much in the way of plot or character development and the romance is pretty insta. While none of those things would work for me in a longer format I am all when it's a short story.
I liked all the characters, but Maddy kind of stole the show, she was a great dragon-slayer.
I love Lacey Daize's super spicy little treats, this was a perfect snack for the autumn season. I'll be back come Christmas
Scott takes his niece to pumpkin patch, but she got lost trying play hide and seek with him. Dom who's family owns the place goes looking for her and brings her back. He's just moved back to his hometown of Valle Granja from Wyoming. Going be a vet there.
Few days later they meet again in grocery store and Dom asks Scott out. Things progress fast from there. The book does time jumps without marking them at the top of chapter, but you'll notice in the words.
Really loved this and sex was hot. It is insta love which is fine with me. I wanted more time with their baby though.
A good deed . . .Scott took his niece, Madison to the Pumpkin Patch and she wandered off. Dom, recently moved to town to start a Vet practice and is helping his Uncle and cousins out. He saw Scott and recognized his mate. Madison, got lost and Dom found her. Then Scott left and Dom hadn't got his digits. How does Dom tell Scott he is his mate? Then, they accidentally meet again. Will both men still be shy? Their courtship was agreeable and swift. Does Dom get his practice up and running? Does Scott, open himself to new beginnings? Sweet story. Good characters. Nicely drawn out theme.
I loved the story and how the two came to know each other. The story was short and sweet giving you all the elements of a lovely romance. This isn't my first Alpha and Omega story to read so I knew what to expect when Dom and Scott noticed their attraction. It was steamy and hot while not being to explicit. Pumkin Patch Cutie is a great read if you are looking for a short, sweet, and steamy love story. I look forward to reading more books by this Author in the future. 😁
This was cute, and I loved how Dom and Scott met and how they ran into each other at the grocery store and immediately went on a dinner date. They were adorable, and I liked how Dom’s uncle Robert was rooting for them. It did feel like we went a little too fast, and when they said “I love you” to each other, I honestly felt like they didn’t know each other well enough for that. The ending was cute with the two families coming together, though <3
I will preface this by saying I read the next two books in the series before this one and they are cheesy and ridiculous but definitely better than this one in terms of having any plot or character development. If the premise holds any interest to you, skip this one and read the next two.
This is a cute, short, low angst, insta love story. Well written, fun characters, chemistry and just an all around cute story. It’s actually a pretty good light intro into Omegaverse/mpreg since it doesn’t go into a whole ton of depths but you get the general idea. Dom was a very laid back alpha and Scott a very sweet omega. Would recommend.
This was such a cute holiday novella to read. Just your friendly yet lonely omega living for his happily-ever-after in the form of a stunning alpha. Love is not the only thing in the air this holiday season. I hope you're ready for some steamy scenes and cuteness overload. I highly recommend this story.
This was a lovely read I finished in an hour. Just the way I like with no angst. Alpha Dom and Omega Scott meet at Dom's family's pumpkin patch and both are attracted to each other. Then a chance meeting in the supermarket sets them on the path to their happily ever after. Dom is a sweet, considerate and protective alpha. An enjoyable read!
It felt pretty surface and basic. I’m new to the omega world, but nothing about the trope as written, has me interested in reading more. Totally “cute,” no conflict, mpreg with little description, and a happy ending.
