David M Hinds was the founder and chief executive of Lambourn Court International plc, Europe’s largest stress management group with 92 consultancies in the 1990s. He is an award-winning stress management consultant and professional trainer.

In 1995, a career change was forced upon him when he suffered two major strokes and had a subclavian bypass. Capitalising on his experience during the long struggle towards recovery, he wrote ‘After Stroke’.

Top professionals in their fields from Sir Peter Morris, Nuffield Professor of Surgery to Richard and Judy, UK TV presenters on This Morning have stated that the book is enormously valuable. It has been celebrated as a powerful and reassuring book.

Few people can have the experience that comes from a career of listening and responding to the stress and crisis management problems of clients from so many different backgrounds. Fewer still, the tenacity to mastermind their way back to health and happiness and the know-how to motivate others to tap into their hidden resources and take the essential steps to improve their lives
