Lt. Kyle Jaxon came to the rehabilitation center to learn to walk again after an IED took his leg. What he never expected was to meet the sweet, sexy nurse who makes him feel more alive than ever. Can a damaged soldier like "Jax" ever be good enough for the nurse who heals more than just injuries but broken hearts as well?
Mica Rae is a contemporary romance author. She lives in Oregon with her Havanese and two Doodles. In the fall you can find her screaming at the TV while cheering for her Oklahoma State Cowboys. The rest of the year when she’s not writing or reading, her wanderlust has her traveling the globe. Her love of history currently has her on a mission to visit all thirteen presidential libraries and museums.
This was a sweet story about finding love when you least expect it and trusting that all your experiences, even the painful ones, lead you to where you were meant to be--exactly as you are.
Lt. Kyle Jaxon ("Jax") wakes up at a rehab facility for military veterans who need to regain physical or mental ability and health following injury. This independent man now has to face life outside the military, the only home and family he has, and learn to walk again. Jax is scarred inside and out. It's only his nurse, Chloe Quinn, who gets this grumpy man talking and feeling again.
I really enjoyed this cute romance. It made me happy to see Jax getting better and I loved watching him and Chloe fall in love. Of course there are tons of embarrassing moments, since Chloe is his nurse after all.

This is a novella that deals with issues of PTSD, panic attacks and other issues of soldiers in war.
This starts off with Lt. Kyle Jaxon and his company in a war zone and an IED going off and then waking up and finding out he is back stateside in a rehab center. Chloe is a nurse working at the rehab center. Her job is to help the soldiers overcome their injuries and PTSD allowing them to get back into society. It's a tough job but one she loves. Along comes her new patient Jax and she has her hands full. He doesn't want to talk and not just with her. Can she break down his walls and help him adjust back into society? There are some funny situations that happen and Chloe gets embarrassed, can she continue to be his nurse?
This is a new author to me. I really enjoyed this book and the way she wrote about this. 5 stars
Even though this was a short story it still held so many emotions for me and I fell head over heals for Jax a wounded soldier who lost everything and feels as if his life is over until he meets a certain red headed nurse! This short and sweet romance will have your heart crying and jumping for joy within a matter of minutes can’t wait to read more from this author!
I've truly enjoyed reading this novella. It had me hooked from page one and I love how Jax and Chloe found each other. I have to admit, I laughed several times during some moments with Jax in his room. It was fun reading about these characters, and I'm glad they unexpectedly found love. I'm looking to read more novels by the author.

Lt. Kyle Jaxon lost part of his leg in an IED explosion. When he enters a rehabilitation center, he not only needs to learn to walk again, he also needs to heal from his emotional wounds. The sweet and sexy nurse, Red, gives him the motivation that he needs to recover from his injuries. She might also help him heal his broken heart.
This novella can be read in about an hour and I read it in one sitting. It's a somewhat emotional read at times that had me crying at one point. There are also bits of humor in what could have been a heavy read, and even though this is a short story, it gave me all the feels. I highly recommend grabbing this one!
