Ace Sidney drives me crazy. As a professional poker player, I never want to lose, but when that woman beats me, it makes me want to punch something. She haunts my dreams. The kind of scorching hot dreams that end with me waking up in a sweat wishing she was right next to me. My friends are joining me in the Bahamas for a poker tournament I’m gonna rule. I know she’ll be there, grinning as she flashes her cards, licking those red lips just to mess with my head.
But this time I refuse to let her win. Sidney I’ve never been a member of Ace’s fan club.
The guy’s an annoying peacock, strutting around like he’s God’s gift to the world. But when it’s clear a dirty player is trying to cheat us both out of the tournament, I have no choice but to enlist his help. After a few drinks we agree to call a truce and join forces - for a limited time. With all those distractions, we’re not prepared for the storm bearing down on our resort, or the passion rising between us…
This is a short steamy read packed with action and I loved every minute. The snarky banter between Ace and Sidney is awesome, just a ton of hilarious back and forth that’s so much fun. There’s also bad guys and a hurricane but it works. This book is fast paced but the story's so well developed, it doesn’t feel rushed. I love Sidney and Ace and just want more. They could fight crime and further humanitarian efforts at poker tournaments around the world, I’d be totally into that -- but my tastes may be eclectic.
There's no way to go into detail without being a spoiler so I'll just say that Ace debuted pretty high on my book boyfriend list because I've really got a soft spot for a guy with a smart, dirty mouth. This book is funny, sweet and sexy but still manages to give us mystery and suspense as well. It’s got everything you need in a good story and I’m so glad I picked this one up. One warning: this book reads just fine as a standalone but it’s a spoiler for the earlier books.
Ace Hartley is a professional poker player with a no strings attached jet setting lifestyle. All of his closest friends have paired up or gotten married and he feels left out.
Sidney Price is a professional poker player with a brain and an attitude. Commentators call her The Assassin.
They are at a poker tournament in the Bahamas with a huge cash payout for the winner. Unfortunately for them both one of the players seems to be cheating his way to the win. There is also a category 4 hurricane barreling down on the resort. They end up spending an amazing night together during the storm After the storm clears they head to the airport to get home to Las Vegas and Sidney tells Ace she does not want a relationship with him. Ace does not give up and gets Sidney to change her mind. They get a dog and an HEA.

This is book 3 in James' Vegas Kings series. This book follows the story of Ace - the last of his friends to get matched up and while he enjoys is professional poker playing, carefree ways - he's feeling a little left out and Sidney - another professional poker player nicknamed the Assassin. Rivals to say the least, they both find themselves in the Bahama's for a poker tournament where a hurricane has left them with one hotel room to share. Will the fine line between their hate turn into love?!? I love these characters, the read is well written and captivating with good storyline flow. While this is the third (and I think final) book in the series, it can be read as a stand alone but honestly this series as a whole is great and worth the read!

Ace isn't into commitment. Neither is Sidney. They are fierce rivals at the poker tables. They both end up in the Bahamas at a poker tournament just prior to an impending hurricane. Sidney first suspects a cheater when she is eliminated from the tournament early. She tries to tell Ace who doesn't quite trust her. The hurricane hits and Ace and Sidney end up sharing a room at the resort. If that isn't a recipe for hot times, I don't know what is. Both Sidney and Ace have to learn to trust and maybe love. It is fun to read and see them gradually give in to a reluctant friendship and maybe love. There is some drama and danger when the cheater tries to eliminate his accusers. Great fun read!

While I haven't read the first two books in the Vegas Kings series and even though Ace is fully a standalone I can't not mention that it would definitely enhanced reading Ace. Although, even as a standalone it is an amazingly well written book. Ace and Sidney's banter is great and their chemistry is out of this world. Although I definitely recommend reading Ace, I would recommend it for 18 and up because McKenna James knows how to write some hot, steamy chemistry. Even though I did receive an advanced review copy of this book, I also purchased the book/read with Kindle Unlimited and am voluntarily leaving my own unsolicited opinion with my voluntary review.
They are the eye of the hurricane raging around them
Ace is the third book in the Vegas Kings series. This series is about four men who are best friends and are knows as the Vegas Kings. Each is wealthy, handsome, sexy and has women falling a their feet. This story is about Ace and Sidney. This story was a whole lot of naughty smexy fun. Ace and Sidney may be rivals when they are at poker tournaments but they also have a lot of sparking chemistry flying between them. When the latest tournament is at a resort in the Bahamas the Kings take a trip. Ace and Sidney soon find themselves the eye of a hurricane, both swirling down outside and between them.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This book in the Vegas Kings series is about Ace and Sidney. They are both serious poker players who have faced off several times. These two are going to prove that there is a fine line between love and hate. It takes a tournament in a dream location and mother nature to bring them together. Neither Sidney nor Ace ever saw past the competition to the real person until now. If they play their cards right, they can have a happy future together. I really enjoyed this story

Ace is the third book in the Vegas Kings Series and for me, it's the best one! Not only is it the most interesting and unusual book in the series, but it also's really smooth flowing and fast-paced and I just loved both Ace and Sidney, they are both are professional poker players, competitors at the card table who believe that they dislike each other, but do they?
But when they both turn up at a tournament and discover that they do, in fact, need to work together, at least for now they reluctantly agree but after this can things ever go back to the way things used to be? These two are a perfect match for each other in every way but will they ever admit it?
Competitors from the beginning becomes more in this newest addition that doesn’t disappoint. Professional poker players Ace and Sydney find themselves together at a resort during a hurricane and as it heats up so does their chemistry. Theres drama galore as these two find themselves doing everything to survive the storm but when it ends will they find their HEA. I loved how the storyline played out from enemies to lovers and a forever worth waiting for.
A poker part in several turns It's a good romance, very well written, romantic, with rebounds, whether it's by what brings Ace and Sidney together (a suspicion of cheating during a poker tournament), than by their advances and setbacks to win the relationship part between them because none of them let go of their fears, sometimes playing liar poker to themselves. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Arc review I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. At the Caribbean poker circuit in the Bahamas Ace Hartley and Sidney price are always competing till a hurricane kit has them working together . These two have a back a forth relationship but it's interesting to read. Awesome story
This book is great. I LOVED the sizzling chemistry between Sidney and Ace in this enemies to lovers story. The banter, the suspense, the steam, the angst - I was hooked from start to finish.

Ace and Sidney are hot and cold back and forth. It takes them both betting on the same pup at an auction for them to come together. Which was hilarious how they kept going back and forth on the bidding. Their chemistry was so good I hate that it took them so long to cement their relationship.

A delightful story that I thought was a wonderful addition to the series. I loved the emotional turmoil that he displays by the well written internal dialogue. It allows insight into his thoughts and helps to understand his actions and reactions. The story was a wonderful story with a beautiful romance.

A tropical island. A huge poker tournament. Ace is planning on winning. But beautiful Sidney is also there. The bane of his existence. A loss. Cheating. A cyclone. Hot stuff. Rescue and departure. A missing uncle. A missing woman. A beautiful dog. Danger. Ghosted.
This was a great read. Ace and Sidney are poker players and are stuck because of a tornado. They have great chemistry, loved everything about this book. I received a free copy of this book for a voluntary and honest review.
Kings of Vegas book 3. Ace the poker playboy. Sidney the card shark. They met their match in each other. Through the drama and angst they fall for each other. There's a cheater, some secrets, and a hurricane oh my! A great read.
Ace by mckenna James. This was different to other books in the genre. Yes it had the usual enemies to lovers and this act change. But it also had poker, tropical storm and a pet adoption auction which gave it a new bit of scenery. These are what made this book truly enjoyable
The great plot was professionally written, and the characters were so well developed that as I turned each page the chemistry between the characters kept me totally hooked until the very last page!
So glad Ace found his one, even if they hates each other at the beginning, plus all the problems they had to go though to get there. Well worth a read for HEA!
Ace and Sidney are both professional gamblers and they tend to rub each other the wrong way. However, they get stuck together on an island and their chemistry sizzles and implodes. I thought that their relationship was off the charts, and didn't know whether to laugh at them or groan at how childish they can be. Overall it was a fun and entertaining read.
