Kovac hates his vampire curse. His best friend, April, hates people. Together they run a supposedly haunted hotel in the French Quarter. April's mission is to find a life mate for Kovac, so she can spread her wings to leave him behind. Her dedication to the vampire who saved her from entombment keeps her from living her dreams. Kovac's refusal to curse the woman he loves with immortality poses a never-ending problem. Until Nicole walks through the doors of their hotel. She's a ticking time bomb with stage four cancer. Is she the one to fill the ache in Kovac's soul for an eternal companion? April's freedom is within her grasp, until Nicole's best friend, January, walks into the hotel. Tasked with babysitting the human male, April's dreams take an unexpected turn.

I really enjoyed the characters in this book. It was easy to follow along and like each character. I loved how it talked about the chosen ones to choose which way they wanted to go. Either they could live or die. I personally feel like the author did amazing on this book. I’m excited to read book 2(:
The author says that she writes the people she’d like to hang out with, isn’t that great? Her characters are instantly likeable, and we connect and identify with them. Even the outspoken and challenging, April—she’s a firebrand you’d want in your corner if rogue vampires were out to drink you—that’s for sure. Tiffany Ann also says that she likes to write a happy read. With so much sadness and suffering in the world, it’s great to have light-hearted escapism to crawl into. Even when this book isn’t happy— and that’s for much of it— you still feel that the guys will come good and make it right. The book is interlaced with humour—most of it comes out of the mouth of April—she’s sassy and snarky and probably needs a good slap—but you can’t help liking her. The tension is broken with incidents a-plenty from hotel living. They say, write what you know, and the author has drawn from her years of front-of-house service working in a hotel herself. As you read What-the-Customer-Did, although it’s off-the-wall and zany, you can tell as you read that it is drawn from a real-life experience. What really made this book sing to me was the travelogue aspect of visiting New Orleans. We are taken through the streets of the French Quarter, we experience the market, restaurants selling cajun authenticity, and we have snippets of traditions and culture. I adored this part of the book and didn’t want it to end. This book is Faulty Towers, meets Twilight, meets The Big Easy. The story rattles along at a good pace as all good vampire novels set in a modern-day hotel should. However, then the author writes an observational slice-of-life sentence that stops you in your tracks and makes you think. Some of the phrasing is Beautiful. A rom-com vampire easy read, feel-good story that’s well worth picking up. And it’s one in a series, so be sure to look out for the rest, too.
If you only read one of my books, this is the one to read. I had more fun writing this story than all my others. While I love all my books this one has a special place in my heart.
Loved this book! I was fortunate enough to recieve a copy of this book by the Author! If you were a BIG Fan like I was of the Twilight Saga you will like this series! Super quick read I could not put this book down!!! This book had me reading...and wanting to know what happens! 1. Vampire romance 2. Twilight vibes 3. Hotel owner 4. Some spicy scenes 💋 5. Finding love 6. Insta love/connection 7. Second chance at life 8. Soulmates I can't wait to read the second book in this series!🥰 9. I really liked how realistic the charcaters were and how they are portrayed in this story. 10. Loved the friendship that Nicole & January has and Kovac and April.
Got this in the mail and immediately started reading! Vampires not usually my thing but these characters .. like instantly loved them. Loved the New Orleans base and vibe and it was such a great story. I especially loved a vampire struggling with immortality because I feel like you do not see it often. My first book by this author but will not be my last!
Loved this story. Vampires aren't usually my go to story line but this one sounded interesting. Kovac struggles with his immortality alone and April wants nothing more than to be left alone. Working together they run a group of hotels, relocating as they need to cover their true identities. Neither planned to find someone to spend eternity with until Nicole walked into the hotel. Terminally ill, she was checking things off her bucket list before it was too late. A stay at a haunted hotel in New Orleans catering to vampires wasn't on the list but neither was dying so young. Sparks fly and decisions must be made before it is too late.
Warning: don't start this book before bed. You will see all those little hours when you should be sleeping. Staying up to finish Hotel Lamia is worth having an extra coffee to get you going in the morning. A large coffee and one of April’s shirts will get you through the day.
My first book by this author! Certainly not my last! I really enjoyed this story. I admit, the story gave me “Angel” vibes…yes, the Buffy spin off. But that could be why I enjoyed it so much.
The characters were fun to follow. The friendship between Kovac and April was sincere and solid. I never doubted they had each other’s best interest at heart. Although I enjoyed April & January’s passionate relationship, it was Kovac’s tortured soul that reeled me in.
The author had a cool way of weaving in ancient religions & mythology that also added depth to the plot.
Overall, this was an enjoyable, albeit sensual story that had me wanting more.
I'd been hanging out for the release of this book and I am so glad I finally got to read it. Knowing that the stories about the human guests were inspired by true stories made it even funnier, I laughed out loud. I loved how it wasn't just a love story about Kovac and Nicole, but Kovac's best friend also had a chance to start her own journey to finding love. I loved every bit of it and found it hard to put down. Can't wait until the next one comes out.
This booked popped up on my Facebook or Instagram ad. I work night audit at hotel and read at work. So all my ads are for books and hotels so this combined to the two. Really liked the book quick easy read. Goods characters. Could really relate to some of the hotel stories. Looking forward to book two.
This is my first book by this author and I will absolutely be reading more! I love t way that this story was written, the characters and the relationships were amazing! I am a Buffy fan and this gave me all the vibes and more, such an outstanding story, I look forward to more!!!. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
this was a really interesting start to a series and it's no wonder it is becoming a tv pilot. The characters were great and I enjoyed going through this book. I would be interested in reading more in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Absolutely loved this book. Who doesn't love a great HEA? I do and this book delivers not only one romance, but two. Loved the comedy in this book as well. Can't wait to see April and Lane in New York
Good book, good plotline with a little twist, happy ending. This book flowed well, was easy to read, and had enjoyable characters. My only complaint is maybe it all just fell together too easily and perfectly..?
I loved this take on vampires. The introduction to the origin of vampires was interesting. I loved how we get two romances in one book and I fell in love with all the characters. It had humour, steam, drama and a beautiful romance. A must-read for vampire romance lovers.
Book one, and my first in this series, but it definitely will not be my last. This book is by an author that has skills in description without being flowery. Places are described to make the reader feel that they are there. Characters are diverse, well drawn and develop through the novel. It is made clear, all the way through, that the old myths about vampires are made up rubbish. These characters are the type that can fall in love having found their true mate, and that is what adds to the well-written, steamy bits to the novel. If you like your vampires to have a conscience, then this is a book for you. Having enjoyed book one so much,I will be into book two as my next read.
I really liked the dual couple aspect and the fact that they were each others best friends. It turned out good for each couple and they got to keep their longstanding friendships.
For mature audiences the author warns. I noticed criticism regarding the content which I knew I was going to read from page one. If a reader skims through the intimate moments they miss the character development and evolution these characters go through during those scenes. Especially April. As she learns things about herself that she’d never seen in her three centuries. If you plan to skip the sexy moments find something else, because you won’t truly appreciate the growth these four undergo.
This was my first Tiffany Ann's book. This is the first book in the Hotel Lamia Series. The story is original, unique, and entertaining. The characters are well developed, and interesting. The world building is captivating. I liked this steamy Urban Vampire Romance. Julie Branc did a good job bringing this story to life. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love romance but vampire romance is not my favorite. However, I enjoyed reading this book! It had a perfect blend of humor, drama, and romance, plus a twist in the storyline. I also liked the characters which are based on real-life people.
A New Orleans haunted hotel that is home to vampires. That was an interesting location to place the story. I must say, I really like April and enjoy her character. She is snarky but funny. Kovac is a protector, and so loveable. Nicole (not a vampire) is terminally ill and decides to stay at the hotel. I liked the info on the origins of vampires, and that popular facts on vampires is false. Characters well developed. The narration was well done. I received a free copy of this audiobook from BookSprout and am voluntarily leaving my review.
This story has a very interesting twist to vampires. I enjoyed it and I’m not a fan of vampires. If you are, you should like this one. I can’t wait to read April and Lane’s story.
Hotel Lamia was an easy and fast read. I loved the romance aspect, the "eternal love" concept. The characters are lovable. I personally could do without the spicy scenes, but I know many people love some spice. Book 1 was intriguing enough to make me want to read book 2. There is a plot growing slowly, and I would like to find out more. The author sent me a book after my request, for an honest review.
I skipped my Kindle reads to only read this! Tiffany Ann is officially my new favorite Romance Writer! I could not put this down until I got to this heartwarming happy ending. Everything a vampire romance should be! We have Nicole who is dying and has left everything behind so that she can enjoy her time left on this earth traveling. What better time to fall in love...right? Who better to fall in love with than the one person able of saving your life. Kovac is the most honorable vampire to ever live apparently. Nicole wants to be saved but will Kovac's conscience let him? Their love story had me in tears and on the edge of my seat trying to see what would happen next between them.
And we have April, my new appointed spirit animal (Tiffany says she gets this a lot. Read it you'll understand.) April is the Hellcat that every woman secretly wants to be. Independant, Honest, Loyal to her best friend, takes what she wants, and gives zeros fucks about it. Most of my favorite quotes in the book come from April, not only because of her attitude but because of her honesty. With walls of lead around her heart she wants nothing more than to see Kovac find love. But even she doesn't have to be alone forever. Maybe another can be her equal.
This is my review of Hotel Lamia Where Immortals Sleep by Tiffany Ann.
This was my first taste of Hotel Lamia and Tiffany Ann's books. This is a short novella telling the tale of how Chaima and Mason found each other. The chapters were short and full of funny moments within the hotel, showing you some of the other characters. It did make me laugh on numerous occasions!. Also, how Tiffany described the building of sexual tension, created a real drama for the reader to get their teeth into...(pardon the pun!). I gave this book 3/5. It's a great story but it was over too quickly for me.. I obviously need to read the other ones!!! Many thanks to Tiffany Ann for the chance to read this arc copy.
I have to be honest here. I was never into vampire stories. I read this because I love her other stories so much. To my ever loving suprise... I absolutely 100% loved this book! I cannot wait to read the next one! I fell in love with Kovac, Nicole, Ruby, January, Lane and April! They were the best vampire and humans in the world. Tiffany Ann showed me a side of Vampires I truly loved. Thank you for the not one but two beautiful love stories in one book! I highly recommend reading this book even if you think you don't like vampire stories. You will love these!
I'll be honest here, I don't normally like vampire stories. I wasn't sure if I would like this, but it captivated me as the pages flew by. I think the difference was that these weren't "traditional" vampires. The author did her own thing, and it was fresh and exciting. I will definitely be checking out the rest of the series!
I was especially surprised by how much I enjoyed reading this book, with the characters as well as the storyline! This is the first book I've read by Tiffany Ann but won't be the last. Not only did I enjoy getting to read about two people meeting and falling in love but two couples experiencing finding their true love! Definitely a 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ read
This is one of those books that grabbed me and did not let go until I finally finished it. There are so many amazing characters in it that you want to meet in person, story line that keeps you interested and involved, and so much more. I absolutely love this book!.
This one is really odd but interesting I was given a code to audible to listen to the narration. I did like this novel I don’t 100% know where the stories heading it seems over to me but there’s more.
