About the author

Helen Juliet is a British author of contemporary MM fairy tale adaptations, including the international bestselling Beauty and the Beast retelling, Thorn in His Side. She lives just outside of London with her husband and three balls of fluff that occasionally pretend to be cats.

She began writing at an early age, later honing her craft online in the world of fanfiction on sites like Wattpad. Fifteen years and over half a million words later, she sought out original MM novels to read. By the end of 2016 she had written her first book of her own, and in 2017 she achieved her lifelong dream of becoming a full-time author.

When she’s not writing she’s usually dancing, singing, filming music videos, taking long walks, working on jigsaw puzzles, drinking prosecco, or talking about Eurovision.

Looks like I like it extremely hot, because I was reading this hot piece while already sweating due to the freaking hot weather … 🥵
So far I have always hesitated to read this book because I thought a polyamorous relationship could never be plausibly conveyed in so few pages. I am pleasantly surprised.
Of course, the story is extremely insta-ish and very focused on sex. But I really liked the plot and character portrayals because they convey the characters' feelings very well and make the poly relationship between all four of them believable.

The idea of polyamory seemed awful and stressful to me before. I couldn’t imagine how the people involved wouldn’t get jealous. But watching throuples like Daddy, Papa, and Baby made me realise that there are different kinds of love to go around, and it can be amazing to open your heart up like that. 🤗😳🤗

Golden by Helen Juliet is an MMMM romance book between Goldie, Daddy, Papa, and Bear. While we never get to know their names, they craft a love story full of sweet, sappy smut and hurt/comfort.

Helen Juliet's writing in this book, just as in Wild Ride was great! I felt connected to the characters, all the POVs felt distinct despite Daddy and Goldie having more of them than Papa and Baby. I liked how this wasn't shaming at all of sex work as this was a main aspect of the book. The sex scenes were very well-written, considering that most of the book was made up of them, they didn't feel too repetitive or boring.

I don't often read polyamory romances but this one worked great for me. Goldie is a sad, hurting MC who just got out of a bad relationship and is having to do some survival sex work to work off a debt his ex drummed up. We see soon through said sappy-smut that he just wants care and praise. He gets this from his favorite porn trio: Daddy, Papa, and Baby. What I loved about their relationship is how they all had unique connections and sexual chemistry with Goldie, especially between Baby and Goldie (Baby is a boy himself, but he liked switching specifically with Goldie). However, I'd argue the main focus is the relationship between Daddy and Goldie, because he is the head Dom so to speak, in their polygon. I don't feel like it was unbalanced however, because we understand the history between the three of them and there aren't feelings of abandonment or ignoring the others for Goldie. It just all felt quite natural and sweet.

Plot wise, outside of the porn, Robert does some pretty horrible things to Goldie and his mom. I was a little frustrated with the miscommunication between Goldie and Daddy, though I understand why it occurred and was glad Papa and Baby pointed out to Daddy how he was being a bit hard-headed about it all. We have a heroic moment, the evil ex is defeated, and they all come together with an epilogue speaking of their exploits as porn stars together and how it all worked out for them. Overall, I definitely recommend this story.

Well-written, nicely rounded characters, and some truly lovely filth! It's a fairy tale at heart, so of course it has a happy ending, but there's also some excellent comeuppance along the way, so that was nice! I think I like this author very much, both in this name and her H.J. Welch books -- time to put more on Mount TBR!

A very adult sexual retelling of Goldilocks with the big bad wolf thrown in.

Daddy, Papa, Baby, and Goldie are great characters. I liked that they weren’t all chiseled perfection. This was a short story so not a lot of story development but that really didn’t matter. The leads were porn stars falling in love with a man in a bad situation. Sweet and hot enjoyable story. I’ve not read this author before and will look for more of their books.

What a sexy little story, and not at all what I was expecting. I went into it expecting PWP, but what I got was a sweet love story between four men. Oh, it was sexy as hell, but it was also sweet.

The blurb pretty much tells a lot of the story so I won't go into major details here. I will say that I absolutely loved Daddy, Papa, and Baby. I liked Golden (aka Goldie) too. He was innocent yet not.

I seriously loved this. My first by the author. I'll definitely be reading more.

I'm a big fan for this authors fairytale retellings and this was no exception.
Incredibly steamy almost from the onset, as you would except from adult industry entertainers, the softer feelings grow after. Maybe a smidge too fast but it works.
I adored the ways the bears were characterised and how no one was ever left out.
A teeny bit of angst towards the end and a spectacular happy ending.

Not the Goldilocks I read when I was younger!

This was my first story by the author and I thought it was really sweet and cute, with clear character definition. I felt for Goldie – who hasn’t found themselves in the position of trying to help ‘fix’ someone, and the situation he found himself in because he tried to help his boyfriend was scary. The obligatory ‘bad guy’ was an unmitigated sleaze (I wish we had got to see ‘Daddy’ deal with Mr Cundall, but at least we know he got his just desserts!) However, my desire for revenge was more than satisfied with how Robert was handled.

It made a lovely change to have a female character, Goldie’s mother, be supportive and strong despite her physical limitations – her defence of her boy was brilliant and I thought she was a great character!

I loved all the little allusions to the Goldilocks story, especially with the porridge, and I enjoyed reading the story. Considering the four of the men involved were pornstars, there wasn’t a lot of on-page sex, although what was there was steamy and made me a little hot under the collar. I think watching their videos would be most entertaining!

Most enjoyable and I will be looking into the authors other storybook re-tellings!

This was a really fun, hot and spicy re-imagining of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

This was such a quick, mostly low angst, insta-love story with steaming hot intimate scenes. Like..whoah.

I loved the dynamic of the three bears alone and with Goldie. I loved that he was taking care of his mama and trying his best.

I would love more from this group. I loved their dynamic and the epilogue was just so good.

This book is filthy AF. I mean, we get some serious instalust, and then slightly slower instalove. I love that the only names we get for the characters are the ones that fit in with the fairy tale.

Goldie was such a sweet boy. Just so sweet. He had just such a sweet heart. He took care of his mom, and he had to handle a bunch of stuff that wasn't really his to handle. I just wanted to take him and cuddle him.

Daddy definitely knows what he wants, and he has no problem telling everyone exactly what he wants. We don't get so much from Papa, other than that he's happy that to be with Goldie, Daddy, and Baby. Baby is just another joy to have around. You get the feel of joy from him.

Really enjoyed this book.

Unashamedly loved it

This was a great gay retelling of Goldilocks and the three bears. Goldie was adorable. Daddy, Papa and Baby were wonderful. Mix them all together and you get a smut filled, sexy, but somehow heartwarming, story.

The premise was light on plot, but it somehow worked together with everything else. There’s a HEA to make you smile and tons of sexy times on page. What more could you ask for? Definitely recommended for a quick read.

Five stars just for being so British

I did not imagine when I started a book with three people called Daddy, Papa, and Baby that I would fall for it's over the top non stop feelings fest with a healthy dose of sexytimes .

I actually giggled when I read that they were actually eating porridge.

I have spent the last 10 years listening to British slang and cuss words so I understood each and every one that was in here. I was very proud of myself.

I think this is just not to my style. There was nothing inherently wrong with it and I should have liked it since it has a) daddy kink (not littles) b) more than 2 people involved c) spice d) it's got a fairy tale connection but ....

I like spicy books, I really do, but this was non-stop spice from the moment they meet. Okay, it's a porn shoot and porn actors don't usually "get to know each other" before getting down to business which I appreciate but then it just didn't stop. I wanted to see them actually interact OUTSIDE of the bedroom. Supposedly they fall in love with him over a three day weekend but based on his oral sex skills? I wanted to get to the big reveal of why he was there doing that. I wanted to see them talking. For all they knew he was a raging racist or transphobe. They had no clue, or I wasn't shown that. So I found myself skimming madly through the sex scenes after the first couple to get to some actual character interactions and get to know them.

I found the latter third better because the sex is less of the focus vs the relationship challenge and the situation with the cray-cray ex.

So I didn't hate it, it was well written enough, I even liked the characters (and the Goldie Locks porridge connection was there) but when I am skimming 1/3 of a book and hitting *next* *next* *next* on the kindle it's not for me. Again, this is my personal taste/issues, but I need more relationship building to really enjoy it.

The nicknames threw me off and I couldn’t concentrate. The plot was convoluted to say the least. I understand its a modern queer retelling of goldilocks but i still don’t think it was done well nor does the insta love make sense. The length meant a lot was left undeveloped. I feel like I just ate a McDonalds cheeseburger without the sauces; quick to assemble but with barely any flavour. The wildest part was how Goldie referred to “daddy” multiple in front of his mother. Thats wild to me, i love and am involved in the kink community but in-front of your mother. Tbf none of them had names except those cringy nicknames which made the story hard to take serious.

Golden is a standalone MMMM novella by Helen Juliet (139 pages). It's super steamy and low angst with a guaranteed HEA. It's told from a first person, quadruple point of view, however, most of the narration is done by Goldie and Daddy, with only a handful of chapters from Baby and Papa's perspectives.

When Goldie finds himself in debt to a sleazy adult entertainment company through no fault of his own, the unscrupulous owner affords him the opportunity to work of his debt. Unsure of what to expect, he finds that he's drawn the interest in one of the company's biggest stars - Daddy and his two partners, Papa and Baby. They want him and only him for one weekend of content. When Daddy and his partners meet Goldie, they quickly realize that there's no way one weekend will be enough. Goldie's got some heavy baggage, but these three bears will stop at nothing to keep their golden boy.

This was just a sweet, fluffy, and oh-so-steamy easy read! Perfect if you're looking for something low angst, or to help bridge the gap between heavier reads. Goldie was just so freakin' earnest and adorable, and I loved the emphasis the author had on the aftercare, especially after some of his more intense scenes with the other three. Their dynamic was so beautiful to watch, especially the friendship that developed between Baby and Goldie. I'll admit, Daddy was a little intimidating at times but he took such good care of his boys that he won me over! And the epilogue, set a year after the initial book, was just perfect and made me so happy. Also, can we just talk about what an awesome mom Goldie's was? I loved her character so much. A fun read!

Totally fun mmmm retelling of Goldilocks

This book is totally over the top and a total blast to read. The tropes are flying so fast and free in this book that there are almost too many to count. This is a retelling of Goldilocks and the Three Bears but with an all male cast and a heat level very much higher than the original. As the blurb says the bears are porn stars in a throuple relationship and Goldilocks is a twink who is being manipulated into working off his ex boyfriend’s debt. The four men meet have an explosively good time and then the ex shows up. I’m not going to tell you anymore but it’s a fairytale so….. If you like mm romance stories and especially if you like triads etc. and you are looking for a novella with a happy ending then you will probably enjoy this book.

This was such a sweet and steamy take on Goldie locks and the Three Bears!! Our little Goldie has to take a job to pay off a debt that leads him to his three bears (guys)!! We have Daddy, Papa and Baby so perfectly named to follow the tale! Daddy is a big hairy chested dominant man, Papa is your average in the middle type of man, and Baby is a smaller chubbier guy! ADORABLE! This books does a fantastic job letting you get to know each of the guys, and has chapters from each of their POV, while keeping itself at a fairytale length!! I could not put this down! It jumps pretty quick into the lusty scenes that really do naturally lead to love! I received an ARC of this book and I highly recommend for anyone looking for a hot, steamy, sweet and fluffy tale!

This was Helen’s version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and it was sooo good! Goldie’s ex is a piece of crap and has left with a mountain of debt that he needs to pay. He ends up working in the entertainment industry. He ends up with Daddy, Papa and Baby. Let the sexy times begin, scorching hot! This was fantastic, seriously loved it!! I’d love to read a prequel of how Daddy met Papa and Baby. Overall this was a highly enjoyable story, really well written, highly recommend. I’m voluntarily reviewing from an advanced copy that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.

Finding the thing that’s just right

I enjoyed this short novella loosely told as a kinky version of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. Goldie is such a sympathetic character trying so hard to do what’s right but longing to be taken care of and told what is right for him. He’s been been beaten down so much by circumstances and his reprehensible ex-boyfriend that he mistakenly feels worthless. Enter his three bears to fulfill him. Daddy, Papa, and Baby are interesting characters and I really would have liked more of a flashback of those three getting together. For me, the portions revolving around the adult entertainment industry have a bit of an ick factor to them, but the rest is pretty good. As a fairy tale adaption and quick read, this is certainly worth a look.

I really wanted to like this gay retelling of a fairy story with a porn backdrop.

Instead I found it to be a kinda cheesy insta love story that was just ok for me.

The sexy times were just ok, the characters were just ok, the whole story was just ok..

Overall, I was a bit disappointed in this story.

I may have a new fairytale retelling to keep an eye out for, this book was perfect with goldie and the three bears. The setting made for plenty of steamy scenes between the four in various situations.

While still having development of feelings, as each of the men realise they care for Goldie and he fits in their relationship. The characters all stand out in their own way, from Daddy dominating, Papa's care and Baby's playfulness. Goldie was adorable and so sweet, his desire to be good and wanting to do the right thing.

Some light drama in places from the ex boyfriend and Goldie's original agreement, but of course they fall in love regardless and the bears get their Goldie in the end. Also Goldies mum is wonderful! I adored for her small part and impact.

Overall a fast paced, steamy and sweet read with that happily ever after fitting the fairytale. The epliogue was lovely to glimpse into their future and how the relationship grows, very fitting 💕
