I stayed up late at night to read the first two volume of Valkyrie of the End (or "Record of Ragnarok"), the concept is exciting and the artwork is great!

What's what in the story: Every 1000 years, the Gods' Council assemble to decide the fate of humanity. This time around, disappointed by humanity's lack of improvement, every single God from every culture all votes that humans should go extincted. The only one who protests against the vote is the valkyrie Brunhild. Instead of killing all humans out right, she suggests humanity to be allowed a last chance for survival in the battle of Ragnarok, with 13 human warriors battling against 13 different Gods, if the humans win at least half of the rounds, then humanity will be allowed to survive.

Fucking hell! This first volume is so exciting! The Lu Bu v.s, Thor (both warriors are just so awesome!) battle is so exciting and well described, I jumped right to the second volume ASAP to see what will happen next! Plus I am very curious to find out why Brunhild and the other valkyries are helping humans at their own risk, it's known that the valkyries are only demigod level so they might very well be half-humans but still ! Will stay tune!

بعد از ۱۰۰۰ سال خدایان جمع شدن که درباره سرنوشت انسان‌ها تصمیم بگیرن. نابودی یا بقا.
تصمیمی که ابتدا بر نابودی هست اما در نهایت می‌رسیم به ۱۳ مبارزه که بین خدایان و انسان‌ها برگزار میشه و هر گروه بتونه ۷ برد کسب کنه پیروزه و این‌جاعه که قوی‌ترین و چندتا از جالب‌ترین انسان‌های دنیا روبروی خدایان قرار می‌گیرن تا به بشریت شانسی برای ادامه دادن و زندگی کردن بدن.
شروع باحالیه و خود مانگا هم شروع خوبی داشته و امیدوارم همین‌طوری بمونه.

This one was quite epic! Its the battle between gods and humans to decide on the laters fate and maybe its a scheme by the Valkyrie too but then again the moment of Ragnarok is here! First match is Lu Bu vs Thor and its one battle for the ages, two powerful men with their divine weapons fighting and its just so awesome, one upping the other and revelation of powers! The art is insane and the plot while simple is really well executed! Great read and I like how the easter eggs of future participants is already exciting.

Not at all the book for me. Edgy, bombastic, violence with not much compelling characterization or plot. The concept of a duel between divine and human champions is interesting, but there just isn't anything interesting that happens except a bunch of yelling. The art is pretty competent, though.

It's an Epic in the original sense of the world, but whether that makes it an actually good story as well, remains to be seen. Good fights, if nothing else. Great expressive artwork. I'm all for it.

This serves as a great introduction to the series, world, and stakes as a whole, thus why people might be just a little disappointed when picking this up and expecting the whole fight to conclude within this volume. I believe the author decided to do this at the beginning in order for the rest of the fights to not be dragged with needless explanations of the major plot.

Hey, I personally loved this approach, even though my expectations weren't met.

The fight itself is awesome, as they explain the background of the fighters while building each individual, thus setting the stakes of it. At first, you don't see much of a personality when they start to fight... but when you realize just what they were doing, then adding their background, suddenly you see the actual fight start, with a revelation that will remind «Naruto» fans of a very iconic fight. And yes, it's an "OHHH SHIIIIT" moment.

Overall, I loved the character designs (Thor's is just...wow), the art, and the role of the valkyries. Brunhilde, in my opinion, and if her character is handled correctly, could be one of the best female protagonists I've seen. She has great potential, and her relationship with Göll is just cute/funny/heartwarming.

Honestly, can't wait to pick up the second volume.

It made me cry. A literal tournament arc made me cry, Adam was too good (also appreciate the leaf and the artistic references we’re getting here). Also can I just say Hermès looks like a goddamn twink and Loki actually looks insane, a realistic depiction of gods and goddesses (furthermore, I’m horny for all of them)

I can't decided if I love this or not. But the manga not that bad. Still, I don't know who the main character is? Is it Brunhilde? Is it humans? is it Gods?

This Manga feels like a collection of battle without characterization and plot. Well let's see what happen next.

A really bad manga that fights legendary warriors against legendary gods. It’s basically an anime adaptation of Deadliest Warrior but more fantastical. No depth or plot to it really just random fights…. And I just don’t feel invested in the fights

Before starting my review, I finished the anime (Netflix series) yesterday and decided to read the manga for:
1)Everyone on the internet said the manga is much better and that the series is disappointing
2)I actually enjoyed the show and wanted to see what happens next

I would say this is a pretty good introduction to the series. The story is very straightforward: Gods decide the fate of humans every 1000 years and this time they decide to end their existence. One Valkyrie, Brunnhildr, proposes Ragnarok, a battle royale kind of tournament, and the gods accept. In Ragnarok, 13 gods and 13 humans will fight each other to death. The story is simple but the series does not want more than that. The important thing is the unique characters, character design (especially gods), and pure action.

Overall, I really liked it and it is detailed than the show. It reminds me of Fate series and The God of Highschool. The first fight is between Thor and Lu Bu (Ryofu Housen) a very famous Chinese warrior. Both of these men remind me of Saitama, Kenpachi and many other OP characters from anime. I can't wait to read the next volume.

Para Dewa awalnya hendak menghapuskan peradaban manusia, namun seorang Valkyrie bernama Brynhildr mengusulkan Ragnarok. Dimana 13 perwakilan Manusia akan melawan perwakilan Dewa dalam pertarungan satu lawan satu.

Dalam volume pertama ini dihadirkan pertarungan antara Thor, Dewa petir dari mitologi nordik. Dengan Lu Bu Fengxian, jendral ternama pada kisah tiga negara.

Setelah aku baca sampai selesai volume pertama ini, selain art yang bagus dan konsep cerita yang sedikit kontroversial. Aku belum mendapatkan kesan apapun dari jilid ini.

Aksinya bagus karena digambarkan dengan art yang cukup detail, tapi belum ada permainan emosi dari pertarungan antar karakternya jadi masih terkesan hambar buatku.

Menyelipkan konten sejarah dan mitologi di sini menurutku sungguh informatif, setidaknya membuat pembaca yang belum mengetahui sejarah dan edukasi mengenai mitologi tetap bisa menyimak kisah ini.

Walau ada bagian mitologi yang salah menurut ku, memang ni kisah fiksi yang sudah pastinya sang author legal mengubah beberapa fakta dan teori yang dikenal secara luas. Tapi ini bakal mengurangi nilai edukatif dari manga ini. Bila ada penggunaan kata yang salah.

Я дивився огляди в ютубі, то народ захоплювався манґою, казали, що це дуже крута штука, якщо любиш поєдинки, супер-анімація і т.п. Та й взагалі, сама концепція доволі таки цікава, наче Мортал Комбат між богами з міфологій та (подекуди) реальними історичними персонажами. Як дізнався, що там є боги з грецької міфології, то це був ще один поштовх, аби купити манґу.

В результаті виявилося все примітивно. Боги зібралися на свою сесію Верховної Ради, всі вирішили проголосувати, щоб знищити людство, бо вони псують довкілля і взагалі..ох же ці люди. Мене дуже здивувало, щоб серед усіх богів нікому не вистачило мізків сказати, щоб може ще людьми побавитися або ж стати їм на захист. Тобто враз всім захотіося тупо знищити всіх своїх покровителів..геніально. Хто стає на захист людства? Одна із десятка валькірій. Вона прийшла на нараду показала якісь правила й запропонувала турнір, щоб люди билися за своє життя. Звичайно, всі ж боги її послухали, навіть сам Одін (валькірії – помічниці Одіна, якщо щось), котрий виступав за моментальне знищення людства.

Так ось, всі погодилися, пішла валькірія вибирати першу людину, яка в результаті битиметься проти Тора (дизайн якого тут доволі-таки прикольний, з пафосом, як дизайн певних богів). Супротивником бога блискавок став китайський полководець Люй Бу.

Отже битви проходять на якомусь псевдо-колізеї, на трибунах сидять побратими представника людства. Ще можна здогадатися, що історичну постать воскресили, але що, разом з ними всю його фан-базу? Чи як це діє?

Наче почався бій, у якому було кілька панелей та сторінок доволі цікавих. Мені було зручніше в цьому розібратися на відміну від деяких баталій Берсерка. Після чого ми бачимо передісторію Тора. На Асґард, який оточений величезними стінами навкруги, нападають титани (хмм, десь вже таке було). В результаті, ці чудовиська жеруть людей і т.п. а в останній момент вирішив Тор їх всіх повбивати. Молодець, дбаєш про свій народ, чергова тупість богів.

Потім Валькірія отримує смс-ку на свій телефон (так-так, смс на телефон), де розписані пари суперників, що битимуться між собою. Серед них є Адам, той що з Євою, переважна більшість азійських персонажів, а також распутіна туди всунули. Ваааау =/

Словом, поєдинок так нормально і не показали, але у відгуках говорять про те, які круті битви. Ага, дуже. У дебютному цьому томі є пару цікавих, непоганих (здебільшого це візуалу стосується) моментів. Поєдинок Адам - Зевс це доволі цікава вивіска та й хотілося б знати, чим все-таки закінчився другий поєдинок, але я сумніваюся, що це вартує колекціонування серії.

Die Götter haben das Ende der Menschheit beschlossen. Nun sollen die 13 besten Kämpfer der Menschen gegen die 13 stärksten Götter antreten, damit die Menschheit doch noch eine Chance auf eine Zukunft hat.

Einige Sachen konnte man nicht so gut erkennen, aber insgesamt fand ich den Zeichenstil gut.
Die Geschichte ist kurzweilig und schnell gelesen. Allerdings passiert auch einfach nicht so viel.
Die Rückblenden fand ich sehr cool, es geht nicht nur um die Kämpfe an sich, sondern auch um die Geschichten der Kämpfer.
Ich fand es auch sehr cool, dass so viele verschiedene Götter einen Auftritt hatten und bin gespannt, was noch kommt.
Insgesamt ein guter Anfang für die Serie!

Take this for what it is: a gory beat’em up. I should’ve known what time it was when I saw Aphrodite’s cow udder titties so massive two people have to hold them up.

None of the characters stood out to me, but I think it is cool gods from multiple mythologies are here, it’s not just Greek. And playing off the gods’ pride is clever.

But the characters, the story, and the humor were very boring and too dry for me. It’s a bit unfair to rate this so lowly, but I’ve enjoyed other beat’em up stories (hello shounen manga, how you doing? *Wendy Williams voice*), so this just failed to appeal to me.

So engrossing, this is an absolutely divine (heh) concept - the clash between mythology and human history, the mightiest gods and most memorable figures in history. Both the gods and humans come from different cultures, so it's a really interesting mix (even if it's mostly European and Asian, seemingly missing out on the great Aztec and African mythologies). There's great humour, absolutely epic fight scenes (duh), and great twists during them. Also love the research that goes into the characters, like referencing the prose Edda, Chinese history, and more. Loved it!

I'm intrigued. The idea is there. And it's a really good idea. It's just a little rough around the edges. But I can work with that. Every Mangaka starts out rough with art and pacing. Look at the first volumes of Bleach or Attack on Titan. I'm gonna give the series time to hit it's stride, cause I see a lot of potential in that stride.

Love the mashing of all the religious figures and clashing of cultures with the human warriors. Everything is pretty well explained and I only had to keep flipping back and forth for reference a few times.
