This is in the category of feel good reads with a happy ending, but with not that much substance. I enjoyed the scenery described, and the characters were so-so.
This story is set about 11 years after Liv at 17 year old gets pregnant and is forced to give up her baby. The father's parents arrange for adoption by a relative. That fell through, so the father Zane took charge.
Liv is a designer who has redone her parent's lodge, and they want to bring in a writer to promote their hotel/entertainment venue. The person who comes out is Zane--no one knew that he would be the one to answer the call, and he didn't know who the patrons were. Needless to say, there is shock all around, especially since Zane brings his 2 daughters--ages 11 and 5.
Along with Liv, her father, mother and two brothers (with their families) are going to lodge there over the Christmas holidays. Zane has committed to stay to cover the story for his magazine.
Liv's mother is a domineering and harsh person who sometimes backs down. Things become uncomfortable, but since this is a light romance novel, all works out. A few references to God and Jesus are thrown into the mix.
