This story is a perfect, jingly, Hallmarky Christmas feel-good read! It was precisely what I was looking for in a book read a few days before Christmas, and the second-chance romance moved perfectly from hostility to acceptance to relit love. Sure, a few things were a bit overly convenient, but it was such a pleasant story that I forgave it. :)

Very sweet and unexpected plot line. God always has our best interests at heart even though it may be at a lot later time that we come to realize it.
I enjoyed the characters and the heart warming plot a lot.
Highly recommended!

This was such a powerful, compassionate and emotional story...excellent detailed characters....created with such intense dialogue and lengthy history.

I was so sympathetic and purely touch by Zane Harris' character development and his relationships with respect to his daughters, Milky and Alexis. I also felt painfully attached to Liv Butler tragic story...I cried for her and what happened to her unborn child.

I love this book. I thought the author did a passionate and phenomenal job in her writing techniques. Highly recommended....

Cute romance story. It does touch on a difficult subject of teen pregnancy, but it isn't completely the main focus.

"It's taken me a long time - and, to be honest I'm not quite there yet - but I'm starting to realize that our mistakes don't define who we are."

This was a beautiful story of romance and healing from the past. I loved the characters and the way they reveal their past hurts and make peace with them to rekindle a romance that was cut short eleven years earlier.

I couldn't put it down! A delightful read for a winter day for sure!

This is probably my favorite of Gabe’s books! It touched on some really deep feelings and was really insightful of the issues in the book. The hurts and pain in the book were real and yet were presented with the possibility of hope and restoration. The characters like snow and winter a whole lot more than I do! But the descriptions will make you want to visit a resort in snowy Minnesota. I recommend this book- not just as a Christmas story, but as a story to touch your heart and feel deeply!

Love love and love this story!! It never ceases to amaze how God can take a horrible situation and turn it into a second chance surprise miracle. He loves us so much more than we will ever be able to comprehend. He is in the miracle business and nothing can stand in the way of His will and healing touch.

I tend to enjoy everything that Gabrielle Meyer writes. While I prefer her historical fiction tales, I still look forward to her new contemporary books. This story is just so wintery and cozy. It is clearly written by someone who has experienced a snowy winter and I just loved the atmosphere of this book. This is a perfect Christmas read! I enjoyed the unique plot point of a woman meeting her daughter that she gave up for adoption. I always find it interesting because I didn’t meet my birth father until I was much older, so these types of stories capture my interest.

The middle part of the book didn’t hold my attention as much but I still enjoyed the winter antics that the family experiences. I really struggled with reading the scenes that included Liv’s mother. She grated on my nerves, which was the authors point, but it still drove me nuts.

In any case if you are looking for a cozy and short read to get you in the mood for Christmas this is a great choice!

Four Stars.

Liv is trying to get her interior design business off the ground. Her parents are trying to launch their new resort. Together they are hosting a writer from a Travel Magazine and his family for Christmas. Due to weather issues, Liv meets the travel writer first.

Zane and his girls have traveled the world with his job. After an accident, where his wife passes away, Zane is determined to put down roots in his home state. He was assigned this article as his first with the magazine.

When Liv realizes it is Zane she is surprised. She and Zane dated in high school and had a baby together. A baby they placed with Zane's cousin, who had infertility issues. If she wasn't surprised to see him, she was certainly surprised to meet his daughter.

This is a well written story of young love, loss, adoption, heartache and being reunited. The characters are well defined and lovable. A story you can fall in love with full of Christmas magic. I was teary eyed by page 24! I would love to see these characters intertwined into another of Gabrielle's books, I would like to get to know them better and see what life has in store for them! Thank you Gabrielle for another story full of all your love and ability to give hope to others!!

This is in the category of feel good reads with a happy ending, but with not that much substance. I enjoyed the scenery described, and the characters were so-so.
This story is set about 11 years after Liv at 17 year old gets pregnant and is forced to give up her baby. The father's parents arrange for adoption by a relative. That fell through, so the father Zane took charge.
Liv is a designer who has redone her parent's lodge, and they want to bring in a writer to promote their hotel/entertainment venue. The person who comes out is Zane--no one knew that he would be the one to answer the call, and he didn't know who the patrons were. Needless to say, there is shock all around, especially since Zane brings his 2 daughters--ages 11 and 5.
Along with Liv, her father, mother and two brothers (with their families) are going to lodge there over the Christmas holidays. Zane has committed to stay to cover the story for his magazine.
Liv's mother is a domineering and harsh person who sometimes backs down. Things become uncomfortable, but since this is a light romance novel, all works out. A few references to God and Jesus are thrown into the mix.

Challenge Prompt: CNL’s #23 of 50 — “set during a holiday”

Book #19 of 2024: I’ve been enjoying this author’s Timeless series so I wanted to try one of her previous books. I enjoyed this Christmas tale of an unexpected reunion between the FMC and the daughter she gave up for adoption as a teenager.

I can’t imagine how hard it would be for anyone to give up their child by force and secrecy. The strain between her and her mother is quite realistic in my opinion. I admittedly imagined sticking a well-placed elbow into her mother, along with saying some blunt words, more than once.

I believe that this book relays the resulting feelings, emotions, and difficulties quite well. The main players all made some mistakes and facing them was not easy. Yet love can outweigh the negative either raw honesty, prayer, and willing hearts.

The imagery of the location is just gorgeous and really added to the story. It would make an amazing tv movie with the beautiful scenery as a backdrop to a story where you want to both cry and cheer.

This story should have had trigger warning about abuse.

There is a special place in hell for Liv's parents. Her mother is vile. Her spineless father allowed his wife to abuse his daughter for years. They are both toxic. It was sickening to hear these two preach about love.

Liv needed to forgive them for her own sake, but it would have been better for all concerned if they went their separate ways. We must forgive but we do not need to associate with toxic people.

Zane offered more Grace than any of the Butlers' deserved. He and his parents were the only decent Christians in this story.

Note to parents - Teenage pregnancy happens. If your scared teens come to you, show them love and kindness, and offer them solutions and support. Keep your disappointment, anger and judgement to yourself.

Eleven years ago, Liv's mother forced her to put her baby up for adoption. Liv was only 17 years old at the time, and that decision haunted her for the entire eleven years. Now, Liv is growing her interior design business and her parents are getting ready to open a vacation resort. Before it opens, however, they are looking forward to having their resort featured in a well-known travel magazine. The writer and his family are going to spend time experiencing the resort, along with the owner's entire family. What no one knows is that the well-known writer is Zane Harris, the father of Liv's baby. And, no one ever knew that the planned adoption fell through and that Zane took custody of their daughter.

I’m not sure if it was the fact that it I was listening to a reading from an AI type recording or if it was the writing but I could only listen to an hour of it. The recording was lifeless and made the book very dull. However, the writing was redundant and kept hitting the same point over and over about the woman’s feelings. After the 5th or 6th time (in less than an hour) of hearing the same I had to turn it off. Their was no character building and the repetitiveness was frustrating. I will admit I am not normally one to read love stories. I like a bit more fantasy or action, so this did not hold my attention.

I love she books take place where I can easily imagine and as a Minnesotan, this was so much fun! I am so a big fan snowstorms as long as I am safe somewhere, so Snowed in for Christmas was a perfect book for me. The main characters were so welcoming and forgiving and they had so much faith and grace with each other, that I found this story really touching. I could relate so much, there were several times that I made me tear up but it wasn’t sad. It was a beautiful story of redemption. I received a copy of this book, all opinions are my own.

Gabrielle Meyer writes heartwarming stories with strong characters and good, well thought out plots. As a teenager, Liv Butler was forced to give up her baby eleven years ago. Not a day goes by that she doesn’t feel like she is unworthy of love.( her mom sure lets her know that!) Along comes a free-lance journalist who could jump start her interior design business as he writes about her parent’s lodge. Surprise! The journalist, Zane Harris, is her ex boyfriend and father of her child. What’s more, he has two daughters, one being their daughter!

Such a Fun, Enjoyable Story!

This was such a fun and enjoyable story, filled with the joys and even heartbreaks of real life. Wonderful truths and examples of forgiveness, forgiveness of one's own self, seeking forgiveness from others, patience, humility, and God's continual, overflowing grace as He gently guides our lives. Lives the story and loved the characters, as well as the descriptive scenery!

Per usual, Gabe has written an unputdownable book! Such a fun Christmas story. And a quick read, as I finished it in one afternoon. The only thing that I did not care for was Miley. She is 11, but to me, she came off as 8-9. She seems a bit immature, especially for someone with all the life experiences she has.

Definitely a Hallmarky book. After expressing that, I have to add most of the characters were unlikable for me. The mother was hateful to her grown daughter, Liv, through most of the story, the father allowed it, and Liv was weak and indecisive. The ending had everyone forgiving everyone true to a Hallmark movie.

Enjoyed the ending, however had a hard time with the narcistic mother. Having experienced narsistic
people and behaviors similar to hers, let's just say I don't see someone changing like she did. It made it unrealistic but glad to have a happy ending. Love her other books this one was ok just wasn't as good as the others.

I thoroughly enjoyed this Love Inspired Christmas story taking place at a lake resort in Minnesota. Liv Butler and Zane Harris were high school sweethearts who hadn’t seen each other in years after their child was born and put up for adoption. When events transpired to place them both at Liv’s parents’ lodge over Christmas, I couldn’t stop turning pages to see how things would play out with Liv and Zane, his daughters and Liv’s family. Such an uplifting and heartwarming second chance romance and a lovely message of forgiveness!

Good Story but Tedious

I enjoyed the story, but of course I had it figured out from the beginning. I was happy when Liv finally stood up to her mom, but I thought her blind allegiance to her mom was over blown. I really liked Zane, but the fact that his cousins changed their minds at the last minute about adopting was not believable!

This wasn't at all what I expected. I assumed it would be a light-hearted and fun romance, but it wasn't. Nothing much wrong with the book, but there were some heavier topics than I expected.

One character was totally unlikable, but did a turnaround in what seemed to me an unrealistic abruptness.

Second Chances

A lovely story of second chances. God orchestrates Zane and Liv meeting up again 11 years after a teen pregnancy. Wonderful characters. The little girls are so sweet. Liv's mother, Marilyn, though. Hoo boy, she is a LOT.

Very good book

A really great read about life and relationships. Marilyn was not a good person and made some stupid cutting remarks, but family was quick to forgive. Very few people would be so gracious.
