When a rogue snowball knocks her off her feet, Jeri Hunt’s perfect Christmas season is flipped upside down and lands her into the arms of a delightfully handsome stranger. But since holidays keep her life as chef at a small town café on turbo speed, she doesn’t need the distraction of a mistletoe-worthy face in the back booth.
After Chase Thorn inherits his grandpa’s old house, all he sees is a quiet mountain refuge to heal a nasty case of writer’s block. Until a sassy chef crashes into his life and unlocks inspiration he didn’t see coming. Her quirks and wild ideas stir more than words for his next novel.
But as deadlines and big city life call, will they choose to make a whirlwind fling last, or is this a romance that was always meant to end?
I live in Utah with my husband, our four kids, our dog who thinks she is human, and a rather suspicious cat. A fantasy anthology which included my work in 2018 hit the USA Today Bestseller's list. I have written several fantasy and romance novels and adore both genres!
You'll most likely find me when I'm not writing trying to keep up with the kids, daydreaming, spending time in the mountains, and drinking too much caffeine.
Yeah, NO. I hate that trope. That is no way romantic or entertaining to read. I pick up romances to read about the main couple and no one else. If anyone else finds that at all likable, then this is for you. Thanks but I'll pass.
I stayed up late last night finishing this book. I love this author and she did not disappoint with another wonderful book.
Jeri had been heartbroken when she left Los Angeles and made her new home in a small town in the Colorado mountains. She was a talented chef who owned a cafe/coffee shop in Silver Creek. She was content with where her life was. Then fate stepped in and handed her another way to make her life wonderful she literally was saved by a handsome stranger.
This handsome stranger was Chase, a reasonably famous author whose specialty was fantasy reads. He had lost his mojo and had come to Silver Creek to his grandfather's cabin to try to jumpstart his writing career to finish the wildly popular fantasy series. He was under the gun and hadn't written anything in over two years after a devastating personal tragedy. When he met Jeri saving her from a mean icefall thrown at her head, he was intrigued. She was different from any woman he had ever known. She helped him to discover his passion again by encouraging and helping him to find his characters voices again.
I loved how these two main characters were so amazing for each other. They supported and encouraged and stood by each other, even when it wasn't easy. There were many swoon-worthy kisses and a very romantic story woven in and around some local Silver Creek characters. I can't wait to read more from this series.
This is a sweet, clean, romantic Christmas love story with all the wonderful feels. I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
Eeek! Dive bombing magpies?? This is such a yummy, swoony read! Uummm, my taste buds were salivating even with the first page! This book has all the feels and the characters bring a bright light to the story. It’s a close knit town where everyone knows everyone in this small town of Silver Creek. How could they not. The star of this story is Jeri who owns the Honey Pot Cafe and is a personal friend to all who come inside. She makes special orders for her regulars and tries out new flavors for her friends. Then enters stage left the handsome Chase Thorn the new guy in town. Since he rescued Jeri from a fall on the ice, she concocts a special flavor of cappuccino on the house. He loves it. And such is the beginning of the forever kind of love.
Christmas at the Café was such a great book! It was so easy to like Jeri, and I loved watching her fall in love with Chase. I was smiling, may or may not have snort-laughed a time or two (breaking into your own business on a whim for fun-- who does that?!), and crying happy tears. It was an interesting and well-written story that had me turning pages late into the night. Spunky heroine? Check. Hunky hero? Check. Riveting storyline? Check. And even better than those spine-tingling kisses was that it was all clean. (Okay, maybe not better than those kissing scenes, but a close second.) Seriously. All. The. Feels. Now I'm off to find another Emily C Childs book to read!
What a cracking Christmas romance with a cute charming couple. Jeri is literally swept off her feet and into Chase’s arms at the beginning of the book and it moves along beautifully from there. I just loved the romance between them, so much genuine emotion and entertainment. Some real laugh out loud scenes – especially enjoyed the supermarket shopping! It’s not all easy sailing for them though and there are a few barriers they have to overcome before they can hope to reach a hea. This book is just ideal if you need a bit of joy and escapism during the festive season.
Aside from the adorable main characters, this book really makes me want to move to the mountains, find a quaint small town like Silver Creek where everyone knows everybody and live my best life there. I loved Jeri in the previous book, so it was fun getting to know her better. I love her genius in the kitchen/cafe! The playfulness between Jeri and Chase was adorable, and the grocery store scene had me giggling so hard. Definitely a sweet story, fully recommend!
A bit Hallmark - y. Completely cute. Naturally, you get the dreaminess and a bonus ultimate ending. Worth it. An easy, relaxing read. All the glam and essential sexy guy in the mountains at Christmas-ness you need for a December evening with an extra huge mug of hazelnut infused coffee. (This review makes more sense when you've read this book).
Silver Creek Colorado Chase comes to stay at his grandfather’s cabin to get over writers block. Saves Jeri from snowball. Gets to know her, she helps him get over his block. Playing an assassin in the grocery store. They become a couple. When he has to go to LA as they are making his book into a series Jeri’s ex shows up and makes sure she knows he is going to make Chase to busy for her. Chase fires him and lets Jeri know she’s the most important thing.

Christmas at the Café is an absolute delight - a sweet, heartwarming romance that would make an excellent Hallmark movie. I adore both Jeri and Chase. I loved the way they played up each other's creative genius and were there for each other. Their story left me wanting more of Silver Creek. Written in Ms. Child's usual style with wit, warmth, love and hope, I could not put the book down.
I love Chase and Jericho, aka Jeri's love story. I aso loved that Rowen and Slone and Abigail to where in the book. I read both books on Kindle. The Author if you became fans of hers on the end of both books. She will send you A link. So you can get extra chapter 's on both books only on Kindle.
An absolutely adorable love story. The small town vibe and wonderful characters just draw you right in. A fun, quick read that I recommend. I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
I really enjoyed this story! Great characters, great setting! Love the small town family closeness vibe! Jeri is hilarious! She is so much fun! That made her balance with Chase perfect! He needed a little more fun in his life! Had me wanting more of this little towns quirky people!
I enjoyed this enchanting sweet romance of Jeri and Chase. This one made me smile with the small town feel and the charming characters. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Sorry but I really wanted to like this book but I just couldn't get past all the narrative about Chase's writers block and hope Jeri was trying to help. The story started out great but got too tedious...
I fell in love myself with all the characters . I was drawn into the story and wishing it was a real place because I would be on my way to holly creek tomorrow . A delightful read now I'm going to make myself a cup of tea.
This is a good book to read during the Christmas season. Colorado and all it's snow is the perfect backdrop for this book I only gave this book 4 stars as it didn't have the sparkle of the first book.
Just what I love to read at Christmas time. Adorable and fun., really loved the characters. The first book is awesome too. But I may have loved this one even more. Happiness is a blessing and this book made me feel joy!
This was a fun and entertaining story with interesting characters. And, of course the ending was perfect. I have not read this author before and I will be looking for more of her stories.
I think I liked Book 2 better than the first. The exuberance and instant connection, the way they inspired each other's full potential was so fun. A definite must-read book!!!
The characters are so down to earth and real that I felt like I knew them personally. Stars-in-their-eyes loves and small town holidays along with familiar faces from the previous book, this story has it all.
Such a wonderful, feel-good story! I loved every word and couldn’t savor long enough or read fast enough! This book is exactly what I want in a Christmas read. Highly recommend.
Loved this book. I fell in love with Jericho in Silver Creek Christmas #1. She and Chase were the perfect couple. So glad their love overshadowed their past.
