"Redeem" continues the story of Madison and John.

A sweet romance between a mercenary and the woman he loves, but finds himself unworthy of. However, when she does get into trouble, nothing will stop him from declaring his intentions.

It was OK!

I freaking loooooooved it!!!

Book 2 in the series featuring John and Madison.

They've known each other forever.
They've secretly loved each other from afar.
No insta bullshit.
One crazy hot alpha with lots of tats and eyes only for one girl.
Our girl.
Fantastic steam so my inner kinky hoe was really happy.

Do I need anything else?
No, I don't think so.
Now off to book 3 I go.

I knew I would love this series.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

"I try to keep my voice disinterested and calm, but if the 911 call is about Madison, I need to know. And no, I’m not ready to talk about my reasoning or admit any feelings for her. All I know is I need her safe."

A good second installment to the Whiskey Run Heroes series. I liked finally getting John's story and it was interesting and suspenseful. Not my favorite by Hope Ford but still amazing as always.

I usually enjoy Hope Ford’s books very much but this on was a miss for me because of Madison. Her character is said to be loyal, a great friend to Jenna (John’s sister), kind, big hearted, and sassy. I agreed with all of those things but the sassy, she wasn’t sassy she was stupid. Her brother Ethan is a drug addict and dealer who she has bailed out of trouble several times. The last time she was roughed up, a black eye and busted lip by the guys who he owed money to. So when he calls again for help she is ready to drop everything and go to him. He needs her to bring twenty thousand dollars to Florida to give to a guy. Turns out the guy, Baron is Columbian Cartel, not someone to be messed with. John, aka Knuckles has been secretly in love with Madison for years, when Jenna calls to tell him something is up with her he has Dylan, the tech guy check into it. There is no way he’s going to let her go alone to bail her brother out, but when he finds out about the Cartel he’s definitely going to take care of the problem for her. She’s not happy John is coming to help her, she keeps telling him she can take care of this herself, and he should stay with Jenna who is ready to have her baby any day now. Even after he explains the Cartel is who her brother owes this idiot still thinks she can handle everything herself. Her brother pretty much admits he sold her to Baron, because he really owes fifty thousand, the remaining thirty is her being used by Baron and then probably trafficked. Still insists she can do it herself, she doesn’t want John to get hurt. The man is former military, a current mercenary, this kind of stuff is literally what he does for a living. But sure, a barista is going to be able to take care of business with a Cartel member and just walk away afterwards.
John is smart he calls his boss Walker and they have a plan in place with Knox and Bear helping. He leaves her in a sex induced sleep to meet with Baron, but she evades Knox by crawling from her second story balcony to get to the meet. Almost blowing it! Bear has everything under control with the police arriving at his signal to arrest the bad guys. That was the extent of the action, just guns pulled by John and Bear and the bad guys, no shots are fired. Lots of crying by Madison, very annoying, because she could have gotten John killed. She was so worried about Jenna losing her brother, but she didn’t think how Jenna would feel if she was killed or trafficked, they are as close as sisters.
John had stayed away from Madison because he felt he wasn’t good enough for her and that gets all cleared up. I love yous and he she agrees to be his.
Epilogue was great, sets up Bear and Samantha’s book.
I liked John and his commitment to Madison once he decided he was going to pursue her, I liked how he struggled with killing even though it was his job, showed his humanity. Liked seeing all the other characters and Jenna and Dylan having a baby girl. Madison was a TSTL heroine, I like a strong intelligent female character but she wasn’t strong or smart she was stubborn and stupid not accepting help when an expert offers it. John deserved better.

Madison needs to bail out her brother.... again but she wants to do it quietly. Bit her friend Jenna just knows she needs help.... and sends her older brother with Madison. Madison and John.were secretly in love with each other, but they stayed away for different reasons. Now they are forced together and they can't stop their attraction. Secretly I'm a bit bumped that they were with others while being in love with each other 😒 But that's just my personal preference 😉 All in all a great story with romance, steam, sweetness, action and with a sweet HEA 😍😍😍😍 And holy heck what is Bear doing ??? Can't wait for his story 🥰🥰🥰

This was another engaging read that had you on the edge of your seat wanting to know if Madison and John would be ok after meeting up with the head of the Cartel. Both Madison and John have loved each other for ever but each thought they weren’t good enough for the other so always downplayed their attraction to each other. They had lots of steam and chemistry that leapt off the pages as the story unfolded. Great addition to this series. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

DNF at 55%

I started this series after enjoying Hope Ford's Whiskey Run: Sugar series. Whiskey Run: Sugar was all about short, sweet romances featuring plus-sized heroines surrounding a bakery, and I had a good time with it. Whiskey Run: Heroes, however, is more like rapid-speed romantic suspense, and I'm not a fan. In Ransom, I had a problem with the lack of communication between the two main characters and the way in which the hero continuously made decisions FOR the heroine. In this, I found the suspense plot to be waaaay over the top.

*Spoilers follow*

The heroine's brother is struggling with addiction and apparently owes the Mexican Cartel (in Tennessee?) big money. The heroine agrees to bail him out. Little does she know, she has less than half of the money owed, and the gang leader is planning on kidnapping her and trafficking her in order to collect the rest of the payment. First, I can't believe that even after the heroine found this out, she was still insisting on going to the meeting in an effort to keep them from killing her brother (the same brother who is robbing her of her every cent and apparently didn't care if she was kidnapped and trafficked, to boot). I NEVER call heroines stupid because it always comes off as misogynistic to me when others do it, but... there's a first for everything.

Second, I don't like how the brother was portrayed. I skimmed to the end, and it looked like they forced him into a "locked rehab center," as if they were saving him from himself. That's not how addiction, or rehab, work. There was certainly a lack of compassion when it came to how her brother and his disease were portrayed and discussed; I found it so patronizing and a little triggering as someone who has dealt with similar issues in my own life (although not nearly as dramatic). Due to the short length of these books, Ford just couldn't give these dark topics and themes the tender care that they truly require.

Third, all that aside, I DNF'd specifically after a scene wherein the hero told the heroine that he was wildly attracted her on her prom night (He is 10 years older than her.) and subsequently tried to sabotage her lifelong friendship with his younger sister because of it. Ya'll know I don't mind age gaps (I have a 17 year age gap with my husband!), but this skeeved me out. Finally, I'm not going to lie, I really don't like this cover.

I'm not giving up on Ford, just this series. It looks like I have Auctioned to the Lumberjack lined up next from her.

Hope Ford's Whiskey Run is a place I want to be. Every new addition to the Whiskey Run universe is a fun entertaining read. A chance for a quick escape.

Whiskey Run: Heroes is full of all we love from Hope Ford, quick, hot, romantic. This one also has a touch more suspense and drama than some others in her series. With the heroes an elite group who work under the radar they are destined to face some bad guys who will no doubt put those they fall for at risk.

So if you want a quick read (around an hour), like heroes, small town, curvy women, a touch of suspense and spice then you'll find a winner here.

Madison and Jenna have just opened the Honey Bee cafe in Whiskey Run and Jenna is about to give birth to her first child. Madison has no desire to leave but her brother is in trouble again and she needs to go save him. This will be the last time, she can't keep this up. Jenna tries to convince her not to go or at least to take John with her but she can't. She can't stay and taking Jenna's brother with her, the man she's been pining for since a teen is a bad idea.

John answers Jenna's 911 call to the cafe thinking it's the baby or another threat after what just happened to Brook. When he gets there while his sister is upset it is nothing like he expected. After getting help from his team and permission to follow Madison he sets off to make sure she's safe and comes home to Jenna. He'll just need to make sure that he doesn't cross over the line that could cause his sister to lose her best friend. No matter how much he wants Madison he's not good enough for her.

Madison doesn't understand why he followed her. She doesn't understand why he'd miss being with Jenna and why he would risk himself for her.

'He doesn’t hesitate. “Because I’d die before I let anything happen to you.”

With Madison in more trouble than she realizes John has to take her out of the action. With some help from his team, he plans to fix her problem, her brother, and get her home. Jenna won't risk John for herself or her brother and throws herself into the middle of stand-off. John furious with her is just glad when everything works out.

Upon returning to Whiskey Run to find his sister has given birth, he and Madison both regret missing it. When Madison runs from him, with Jenna's blessing he chases her down to make her his finally.

Happy Reading.

Quick easy short read (108 pages).
Best Friends Brother romance.
It was ok.
John gets pulled in to helping madison by his sister when she finds out she has to go bail her brother out of a situation with a drug cartel. 1 plane ride and boom kissing and getting it on.. Gees surely if it was that easy it would have happened years ago 🙄
I'm sorry, but Madison is stupid. She drove me insane with how she didn't figure out the seriousness of the situation. (But John kept saying all the time how strong and smart she was hahaha where??) She never showed one moment of freaking out or being scared when she found out FROM HER BROTHER that he sold her to a sex trafficking ring.. she literally thought, nope, I will walk in hand over the small amount that was agreed and talk them into giving her time to get the rest of the money BY HER SELF... Idiot.
I would have probably yelled at my brother and then got back to the hotel and had a breakdown.. but all she did was have a shower (to give John space because he was angry) and then basically jump him when he was vulnerable. Then, have a slight temper tantrum after, for no reason, explained.. so annoying 🚩🚩
For a couple who apparently "loved" each other for years, I felt John was way more into her than she was to him.
The story again lacked details around the teams background and what they do.
Just needed a bit more details on all areas. (Let's not mention that they literally just declared war with a cartel.. just because the cops knew, "You weren't there." Are we supposed to believe the son of the cartel boss isn't going to tell??)
But I'm so glad they didn't get engaged after 1 night. I was so worried that was going to happen again.

We've seen glimpses of John "Knuckles" in the background of other stories. We know he's Jenna's older brother and part of the team that Special Forces team whose home base is in Whiskey Run. Now, we finally get to know John. He's been in love with Jenna's best friend, Madison for as long as he can remember. But he doesn't think he's good enough for her after all the things he's seen and done. Plus, she's his little sister's best friend and ten years younger than him. But when Madison plans to bail her brother out of trouble again, John refuses to let her go it alone. What Madison didn't realize was the extent of trouble her brother was really in.

Madison didn't have a good home life growing up and spent most of her time with Jenna and her family. John was in and out her life because he was in the military. She was in love with him but he always kept her at arms length which caused Madison to believe that John didn't even like her. Madison thinks she's just paying off another drug dealer but John and his team discovered it was much more than that. Now Madison and John are in close quarters together and lines get blurred and feelings can no longer be buried.

John was so protective and truly loved Madison but thought she deserved so much more than the man whose known as "Knuckles". But can he really walk away from Madison when he's so close to having everything he ever wanted? John and Madison's story was a little heart wrenching but in a good way.

This is the second book of this fantastic series and it gives us John and Madison's story. Madison is John's sister Jenna's best friend and he's been in love with her for a long time but he doesn't think that he deserves her and there's also the age difference he's 10yrs older than her. Madison has been in love with John for as long as she can remember but she knows that he just tolerates her since she's Jenna's best friend after all he did tell her she was no good for Jenna because of her family troubles. Now she's off to Florida because her brother is in trouble yet again she's going there to pay off a drug dealer so they don't kill Ethan. Jenna can't go with her since she's ready to have her baby anyday now but she doesn't think it's safe for Madison to go by herself so she texts John 911 to get him to come to the coffeeshop quickly so she can ask him to go with Madison. Once John hears what Madison is doing there's no way he's letting his woman go alone especially when he finds out they're dealing with the Cartel. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this steamy story to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book as well as the previous book in this series.

Ah! John, so broken but such a good guy!

Life and serving his country have left John very dinted, cracked and broken, he thinks he is too broken to love, with too many black marks on his soul. What John fails to see, but Madison sees clearly is that each of those black marks was gained defending the innocent, whether in a foreign country taking out insurgents, or at home protecting innocents from the criminals who slither in the shadows and darkness, waiting to strike. She sees the good in him, she sees his huge heart and his need for acceptance and love, and she knows he is the man for her, she just needs to pay off her brother's debts.....
Unfortunately John doesn't live the life of the innocent, he knows exactly who her brother owes and exactly how they plan to take payment. He would love to keep Madison innocent and unaware of the way these people trade...but he will have to settle for keeping them both alive. Maybe then he can claim his woman and give her the life she deserves...with him. The emotional blows in this book are brutal, and although Madison may be crushed by her brother's betrayal, she stays standing, keeps fighting and proves she is more than strong enough to stand by John's side.
A fantastic read on Kindle Unlimited.

Can he redeem himself enough for her

Redeem is the second book in the Whiskey Run: Heroes series. If you have read any of Hope Ford's Whiskey Run and spin-off series then you will be familiar with the world. This forbidden love story is about Madison and John. He is the older brother of Jenna, who is Madison's best friend. John and Madison have loved each other for years but neither has ever made a move because of Jenna. Plus there is the little issue of a ten year age gap. He had been off with the military for years but now he is back home and about to get wrapped up in a hornets nest. Madison's brother is once again in trouble and things are about to spiral out of control as there are drugs, cartels, danger, drama overload, and more.

I liked this story but just did not love it. I really wanted to smuck Jenna upside the head with her actions and then also kick John for his inaction at times. It was a nicely plotted story just did not pull me in all the way. I will say that I am a huge fan of Hope Ford and love her writing. But sometimes, even with a favorite author, you just don't connect with a story and Redeem is one of those for me.

This book was amazing and I could not put it down. It was suspenseful, hot and steamy, passionate, finally taking a chance on the one they love, their forever future.
I just cant get enough of the Whiskey Run Series, these books will suck the reader in craving more and never wanting these books to end. These men are sexy, tough, mysterious, and the best men ever when it comes to those woman they love. They love hard and unconditionally, the perfect book boyfriends/husbands. They are protective and possessive.

For years John has secretly been in love with his sisters best friend, never able to make a move because he is worried to ruin their friendship. But once he finds out she might be in trouble, there are no questions ask. He will do everything to protect her because he loves her and he will make her his.
Madison once again has to leave to help her brother, but never thought she was going to be in so much danger. But good thing Jonn refused to leave her side. She has loved him for so long, but if he got hurt while helping her she could not live with herself.

Madison and Jenna have been best friends for years. Jenna's family was always there when Madison's family ignored her. Now Madison's family is mostly gone with her father in prison and her mother gone. She only has her brother who is in debt to drug dealers. Madison is planning a quick trip to pay them off and return before Jenna's baby is born. Jenna is so worried for her friend that she sends an emergency message to her brother John. She asks him to go with Madison and help protect her. Dylan has always had unexplored feelings for Madison and the thought of her going to meet drug dealers gives him nightmares especially after he learns the dealer is high up in a drug cartel. Madison is unhappy to have John with her on thei trip because she is independant enough to not want to both anyone. Then she learns that her brother has secretly offered her to the cartel to pay off his debts, she is willing to allow John to help. Being together makes them realize that they care for each other more than "brother" and "sister".

We're back in Whiskey Run again and I love this little gem about Madison and John. Madison's brother is in trouble again with the cartel and has asked Madison to bring the cash needed to pay his debt. Madison does not know that her worthless brother has given her to the cartel too. But this story is really about Madison and John. When Madison's best friend Jenna finds out she needs to rescue her brother once again Jenna calls her brother John to help Madison unbeknownst to Madison. John has loved Madison for years and the sparks fly when Madison finds out John is going to help her rescue her brother. Madison thinks John just looks at her as his sisters best friend and nothing else. This book has great chemistry between Madison and John and is a really fast paced steamy page turner that kept you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. I really enjoyed it and was a fun quick read.

Redeem is John and Madisons book in the Whiskey run heroes series and it was sooooo good! I love this series! It starts out with Madison telling Jenna (Johns sister and her best friend) that she has to bail her brother out again from trouble and she’ll be gone for a few days even though her bestie is about to give birth. Jenna calls her brother and tells him about Madison and he knows he has to go with her to protect her. John has had feelings for Madison for a while now but feels like he’s not good enough for her. John brings in the guys he works with to take care of Madisons (brothers) problem with the cartel and they finally get their time together to explore their feelings. It’s suspenseful, steamy, action packed. You will love this addition to the Whiskey run heroes series if you like Alpha ex-military growly heros and strong heroines.

Oh My!

I am sitting here with the biggest smirk on my face. Hope's writing always just hits the spot for me. This one is no different. First, let me just say this, Madison was just not thinking clearly. She had to have an idea of what John did for a living. Then, once she found out about the type of man she was going to deal with for her brother's sake. Why didn't she just listen to John? There is a thing about being independent, but when people offer to assist you, you need to take it. Madison worked my nerves, but I get it. She didn't want anything to happen to him. But he was in the army! He just wasn't some random person off the street. He had training! John was already there with more information than her naive self. John and crew really saved the day, especially Bear. I can't wait for his book.

Your typical sister’s best friend love story! Except this one has danger, babies and sex. John and Madison have known each other for ever. Madison is best friends with John’s sister. Madison had a ruff upbringing and spent most of her time with Johns’s family. Being ten years older than Madison became a problem when he started seeing her as more. But years latter their is no longer a problem. When Madison’s brother gets in trouble with a drug dealer she knows she has to try and save him. But with everything on the John won’t let Madison do this alone. But can John keep her alive so he can finally have her? Read this amazing story to find out!

Oh my goodness! I loved Redeem by Hope Ford. it is one of the best I have read in a long time. When John learns his sister's best friend Madison is going bail her brother out of trouble with a drug cartel, he is determined to handle it and make sure she is protected and safe. He has know Madison for years but his feelings changed as she grew up. He is desperately in love with her but doesn't feel worthy and that she deserves someone better. Madison is convinced that John only tolerates her because of his sister so she hides her feelings for him. But as they travel to Florida, avoiding temptation becomes impossible. Can John keep her safe and can Madison convince John to give them a chance? it was also great getting an update on Dylan and Jenna too.

This is book number 2 of the Whiskey Run: Heroes series and focuses on John and Madison. John and Madison have been in love with each other for years but have kept those feelings hidden from each other and others. When Madison's brother ropes her into his problems, she is determined to bail him out. John refuses to let the woman he loves go alone so he decides to go with her. While they are trying to deal with the issues at hand, they begin to open up about how they truly feel about each other. This was such a great story! I loved absolutely everything about it and I cannot wait to see what book 3 has to offer.

The second installment of Hope Ford's latest spin-off series, Whiskey Run: Heroes is the fabulous Redeem. A swoon-y and steamy best friend's older brother romance, Madison and John have both had feelings for each other for years, but John considered her off-limits since she is his sister's best friend - and ten years younger than him. But when Madison's brother gets into trouble with a dangerous drug cartel, John uses all of his resources to help her, the operation bringing the two of them closer. This is a wonderfully written, entertaining, steamy short romance, a must-read for fans of Ms Ford - or if you just happen to love a fast-paced, sizzling love story!

Loved this

Loving this series of whiskey run heroes and this time it’s John’s turn. He has been in love with Maddison for a long time but doesn’t think he is good enough for her so has kept her at arms length but when his sister Jenna tells him Madison is going to help her brother out again. Maddison doesn’t know but John will be going with her he has got it all arranged and the first time she knows anything is when he sits next to her on the plane. John will not let anything happen to Maddison she doesn’t know who he druggie brother has got her into it’s time to let her know but also how he feels about her he needs her to know she is his and he will sort this mess out but Maddison is not happy about it.

Hope Ford has a special gift for creating characters and situations that are relatable and beloved by readers. Redeem is no different. Readers are taken through all the feels of angst, emotion, unrequited love, feelings of inadequacy, and high intensity suspense. Redeem follows the story of Madison and John both of whom readers meet in Matched to the Mercenary (the first unofficial book in the Whiskey Run: Heroes series). In this story we get a look into their past and how it has shaped them into who they are while at the same time breaking down the emotional barriers they have erected in order to protect themselves from further pain and heartache. A truly moving quick read with an ott top alpha male and a tough independent heroine.

Good. 3,5 stars.

The story begins well. He is a mercenary, she is his sister's best friend. In love for years, neither takes the first step. Until she is in danger and his protective instincts come to light. Now, I like strong and brave heroines, but I also want them to be smart. And Madison definitely is not ... Madison thinks that she, who works in a coffe shop can handle a situation with a drug cartel better than a former military man. The story promised but did not convince me. Sorry.
I liked the ending.

Not a good female lead

Let me first say, I really enjoy a Hope Ford story. I would have enjoyed this one if the heroine wasn't a silly, dense woman. I am all for a strong woman, but if you don't have common sense, can you be considered a strong courageous female? Nope. Helping out a drug addicted brother is one thing, but ignoring the advice and direction of people that know how to handle the situation is asinine.
