Kelly Finley is an author of contemporary romances featuring bada** women and grown-a** men.

She lives in the Carolinas with her husband and family. A rebel with many causes, she fancies black leather, dirty jokes, and smart mouths.

Thrilled by a flipped script, she gives us steamy, sexy heroines who are often missing, particularly from suspense and military romance. Her books feature heat we almost can't handle & shameless characters we champion and love.

She's most likely at her keyboard right now, putting the next heroine on the page.

I want to share here, to all the amazing readers, a sincere thanks.

While most of this series is a hot muse of a heroine who woke me up one morning and wouldn't let me go back to sleep, Charlie's story is also inspired by amazing people, some tragic events and profound love.

What I can share here is that my Marine with a French manicure—a former student, veteran and now survivor turned dearest, little sister-friend—told me to write her a heroine that kicked ass, had a smart mind and mouth... and was shameless in bed. My sweet friend gave me her blessing and encouraged me to write a woman veteran—heroes who are too often missing from most romance pages.

As I survivor of stalking myself, I also wrote from a place of anxiety and fear, knowing what it feels like.

Mostly, these pages are informed by the wonderful friendships with other women that enrich my life, the passion I have for helping other women and girls, and my fierce commitment to do so until my final day. Some work on set. Some are badass fighters and defenders. And all are the strongest women I know.

Above all, I'm so lucky to know what great love feels like. That the strongest and sexiest of men can have the biggest hearts. Alpha doesn't have to be an a**hole. He can be one who loves his match.

xoxo,
Kelly

Two entirely different characters r portrayed in this tale, a tough military lady & an actress with great fame. Charlie met Daniel when her job took her to a place where she could experience star life. All the ingredients & spices to keep u entertained are included in this book - romance, drama, fights, happiness, sadness, suspense, everything u could ever need.
🔥
Charlotte Ravenel: Urf "Charlie" a Former Marine tough lady. She is performing a duty to protect actress Kierra from a stalker who is very dangerous. Although she looks like a California girl with a cool California accent, she has the manners of a Southern lady.👮🏻‍♀️

🔥
Daniel Pierce: Also called "Sex God", "Zeus", is a very well-known movie star that is completely captivated by Charlie's straightforward & lovely nature.🕺🏻

"𝓑𝓮𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓪 𝓬𝓮𝓵𝓮𝓫𝓻𝓲𝓽𝔂 𝓲𝓼𝓷'𝓽 𝓮𝓪𝓼𝔂 𝓮𝓲𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓻. 𝓘𝓽'𝓼 𝓱𝓮𝓪𝓿𝓮𝓷 𝓾𝓷𝓽𝓲𝓵 𝓲𝓽'𝓼 𝓯𝓾𝓬𝓴𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓱𝓮𝓵𝓵. 𝓣𝓱𝓪𝓽'𝓼 𝔀𝓱𝓪𝓽 𝓘'𝓿𝓮 𝓼𝓮𝓮𝓷 𝓸𝓯 𝓲𝓽."

Check out this book to know more about - Is Charlie going to be able to track the stalker down? Is there going to be a relationship between Charlie & Daniel?

Charlie Ravenel..comes out of 'hiding' to protect her new girl - another young actreses that is being stalked. Charlie is the ultimate female badass with a scarred history. As she is on set, she meets the man who can be a huge distraction - Daniel. I found myself blazing through this book and cannot wait to pick up the next one! I'm looking forward to see how Charlie and Daniel are going to work through their upcoming challenges.

This book is a whole different kind of experience. Usually with romance novels you have a strong female that can be a badass, but this one is next level. Charlie is the ultimate female badass, and we’ll earned, while Daniel is more of the romantic. I loved the switch in that dynamic, if you read the book you’ll completely understand what I mean. Charlie’s need to protect females is her driving force in life, and makes me love her even more. She doesn’t just protect them though, she builds them up so they can see their own strength as well. Daniel is just the sweetest, and so patient with Charlie. They’re both still hiding things, and I really need to know what it is Daniel’s hiding! I need answers!! This book is amazing and I definitely recommend it!

You can read all of my reviews at Nerd Girl Loves Books.

This was a really good contemporary romance suspense book. Charlie Ravenel served in the military and was injured in combat. She now works for an elite company that provides bodyguard services for high profile clients. Charlie is assigned to protect a young actress working on a popular television series. The actress is receiving threatening notes and it's unknown if the perpetrator works on the set or is an outside threat.

Another actor on set is Daniel Pierce. He's a hot, A-list actor that is sought after by women and men alike. He is currently single and has set his eyes on Charlie. Charlie can't get involved or she'd be reassigned. Plus, she's been alone for six long years since her combat injuries, and she's not sure she's ready to trust, or love, again. But, Daniel is persistent and Charlie eventually gives in. But will it be just a fling or could it be more?

I really enjoyed this first book in a new series and will definitely read future books. Charlie is a total bad-ass but is also compassionate and devoted to her friends. Her co-workers are a hoot and I loved their banter with each other. It's clear they care deeply for each other and have each other's backs. I liked the way Charlie investigates the mystery of who is tormenting the young actress.

I also really enjoyed the way Charlie and Daniel's relationship developed. Their chemistry was HOT and I loved they way they got to know each other. Their relationship was total escapism, which is what you read these kind of books for, and it didn't disappoint. If you're looking for a mystery book with a side of romance, this is the book for you.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Katie and Brey PA and the author. All opinions are my own.

Charlie's mission in life is to protect women and girls. She's a former Marine, she's tough, she's scarred, and her intuition is not the only thing that makes her so good at her mission. When she's on her current assignment, protecting a teenaged Hollywood actress from her stalker, she meets the man who could easily distract her from her job. Will she allow Daniel into her battle-hardened heart?

Daniel's fascinated by the new on set security agent. He wants her as he's never wanted another before, but he realizes she may not be so willing to get involved with him. Time will tell if he's got the persistence needed to reach Charlie's heart the way she's already got his. He's got a big secret, though, and it just may end up being their biggest obstacle...

Badass heroines are my jam, and Charlie's one of the most badass of all badasses. She's so strong, so intuitive. Yes, she's got both literal and figurative scars, but she doesn't allow them to hinder her or to throw her off her mission. She only needed to allow love in a bit to make her even more amazing. She and Daniel are on their way to that, and I can't wait for Hunt Her to find out not only what Daniel's secret is, and of course, if their journey ends up with a happy ever after.

I went into this book expecting some intrigue a sprinkling of romance and a plotline filled with suspense; and I wasn't disappointed. The plot line of this book gives everything that you're hoping for. There's a lot of points in it that you have to put on your detective hat right along with Charlie and look at what is happening to the celebrity that she is brought in to protect. The romance in this book is like the best kind of sprinkles. I found myself looking forward to the romantic chapters so that there was a little bit of a break between the things that happened to the young celebrity but there was no disappointment when it was all plot.

Charlie is one of my favorite characters, she owns her personal trauma. At the start of the book I wasn't the biggest fan of Charlie because of the way that she talked to herself but shortly after I was in love. She's got the trauma to match her personal scars and is able to use that trauma to be the best person to support and protect her charge. The way she falls for Daniel is definitely one of my favorite things as well, they don't just fall into bed there's actual building of a relationship.

I'm not sure if I really like Daniel or if I just like how Charlie sees him. He knows who he is and how the world around him views him and he is unapologetic to a fault. But his personality definitely doesn't match the way the world views him and I really appreciated that about him. He respects the members of his team, genuinely works to have good working relationships with those he works with and wants everyone to remain safe and whole.

Overall, definitely looking forward to the next book. Want to see how Charlie and Daniel are going to navigate whatever comes next and also how they handle her being his when he's back in the limelight. Spend the time reading this book you will not regret it.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Pierce Her by Kelly Finley

description

I'm the type of reader that can't see a arc sign up form. I always Sign Up. It doesn't matter what's the book about, I will sign up! So I was really curious when Mrs Finley's book showed up to me. Everything about it sounded so different of what I'm used to. The first of all was the fact that SHE was the Marine... Girls, I read books about Military, SEALs, Marines, Firefighters, Cops, Detectives ALL THE TIME, but I'd never seen a book where the GIRL is the military force, so I was immediately sold.

Charlie Ravenel is a War Hero. She has the scars to prove it... One right on her cheek that she can't hide... And she doesn't want to. Now, she lives to protect women and kids that fall under her care. As a bodyguard, she has worked with famous people before, but now when a stalker stakes a claim on Kierra, a sixteen-year-old moviestar, Charlie will do whatever it takes to protect her... Even when it's difficult to do with the hottest man on Earth, Daniel Pierce, attracted to her.

The book is very well written. The smut scenes are different from everything that I read before... Kelly Finley is more focused on what Daniel and Charlie are feeling, and it makes their love scenes so much hotter. Even though the slow-burn felt a bit too slow for me, the sexual tension built between the characters were something to die for, specially after you get to know Charlie a bit more. Charlie made Daniel work for it... And Daniel didn't make her feel guilty of the waiting. Actually, he got even more turned on by the tension.

This book was definitely an adventure. It felt like a movie, with all the tension-building (I had no idea who the stalker was until he was revealed.... I was shocked!!) and the remarkable side characters. Charlie has the best friends in the world, they are thoughtful about her struggles... Some of them having experienced the issues themselves (and I'm all for amazing friends in novels). So if you like slow burn, a mysterious plot and deep characters, this book is exactly what you're looking for.

Pierce Her by Kelly Finley
Come for Me #1

New favorite author, I do believe! I love reading a new author’s work that hooks me and keeps me going to the very end and Ms Finley did just that!

What I liked:
* Charlie: strong, resilient, intelligent, ex-Marine, protector, security specialist, keeps women safe, scarred in more ways than one, has secrets, good friend, leader, I truly admired her and would love to have someone like her as a friend.
* Daniel: heart-throb, gorgeous, guarded, has secrets I really want to read about, romantic, dream worth, great book boyfriend, makes mistakes, loves deeply, intriguing…want to learn more about him and do hope he and Charlie can find the HEA they deserve…or I *think* they deserve
* The way Charlie takes her job so seriously – protecting women is her thing…big time
* The immediate chemistry between Charlie and Daniel
* The slow burn…and boy did they sizzle!
* The steamy bits…oh my!
* The strong friendships: Charlie and Rob, Charlie and Juliette, Anders family and both main characters, the one that developed between Charlie and Kierra…
* The way Charlie and Daniel communicated…for the most part very openly
* Wondering what is still being hidden by both main characters
* The glimpses into the backstories of both main characters…not all has been revealed but what has been gives a good idea about Charlie and Daniel
* Liking the main characters…
* The story telling Charlie did for Anders son – would love to hear it all someday ;)
* That the wounded veteran with PTSD was female instead of male and so worthy of having her story told
* The way the stalker was finally caught and hopefully dealt with
* Reading a new-to-me author that I thoroughly enjoyed the work of
* Knowing there is another book in the series to look forward to

What I didn’t like:
* The stalker…
* The pain both main characters suffered in this story and in their pasts
* Having to wait for the next book I the series

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Definitely!

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.

While it is rare to have a female bodyguard, it is even more rare that she would be former military. Charlie Ravenel is that rarity. Charlie is the war hero, who didn't just come back with scars of an operation that ended in gun fire, she lost so much more. Some of her scars aren't fully healed even if they are the kind that you can't see with your eyes.

Charlie Ravenel, a former Marine is sent in to protect a young actress Kierra, who has been receiving messages from a stalker.

While Charlie is there to find out who is behind the messages, she can't help but be in the vicinity of Daniel Pierce the male lead actor. While she is attracted to him, she has a history that makes it hard for her to give in to him. While Daniel has had his share of women he's been tied to in the press there is just something about Charlie, making him want to do things differently.

He wants to build her trust, and get her to see he is willing to wait, and gain her trust. This does lead to a bit of a slow burn while they get to know each other, it does build a lot of amazing tension.

With each note left for Kierra, or item taken the suspense is heightened and Charlie's determination to keep her safe builds.

I loved some of the text conversations between Charlie and Daniel, it was flirty but also built their connection. When they finally give in to their attraction on a week away, it is explosive and steamy!

There are some parts of Charlie's history that is detailed and can be triggering but also culturally sensitive regarding young brides and rape so please be aware.

While the stalker is revealed and there is a wrap up of that story there are still some elements that weren't revealed regarding Daniel's past so it felt a bit like a cliffhanger, which will continue on into Book 2.

With that said, this book packed a punch. It took me through a whole gamut of emotions and kept me on the edge of my seat. I look forward to continuing the series.

I received an arc from the author for review. All opinions are my own and given freely.

Honestly, I found the pace of this book a bit slow to start off, it seemed to drag. I realise there are things that need to be explained and discovered so readers can get a feel for the characters and what is happening in the story but it wasn’t until about halfway through the story that the pace really picked up and I found myself more absorbed in the story. Mind you it is a reasonable length so you certainly get value for your money.

The storyline is a good one with loads of potential, I enjoyed the characters, especially the two leads—Charlie and Daniel but will admit at times I did want to shake Charlie and tell her to get out of her head. Mind you, her friends did try to tell her too, after all it had been six years even though what she’d been through was horrific. I also desperately wanted Daniel to come clean about his secret. 😀 The descriptions of the settings is another outstanding feature too and I could easily visualise each scene—as well as wish I was there, especially when they were on hiatus!

The suspense element in the story is what really ramps up the action as well in the second half of the story and makes for a lot of excitement and entertainment trying to put the puzzle pieces together to solve the ‘who dunit!’

Charlie and Daniel certainly had a slow burn romance but once that wick was lit, holy moly were there red hot flames of passion and almost to an incendiary level. 😉 Of course, there’s is a lot more to their relationship and I am very keen to read the next book, Hunt Me, to find out what happens to them both and that niggling query about Daniel’s secret.

This one is fun because Charlie is a badass and she’s the protector here. She’s protecting a young starlet from a dangerous stalker when she meets movie star Daniel Pierce. There’s an instant attraction but his fuckboi reputation says getting involved with him is a bad idea. Besides, any kind of relationship between them would cost Charlie her job because it’s a distraction from her work, not to mention highly unprofessional.

Daniel doesn’t take no for an answer though and he wears down her defenses, one at a time until she gives in to him completely. He’s hiding a secret, the threats on set are becoming more threatening and someone may be gunning for Charlie herself. Things are complicated and she has a job to do. I loved these characters immediately because what’s not to like? Charlie is a southern bombshell with a smart mouth and the ass-kicking skills to back it up. Daniel’s charming and clearly head over heels for her. There’s a fun supporting cast too and I hope we get more Rob and Anders especially in the rest of the series.

Their story is suspenseful and hot, alternately steamy and nerve-wracking. The action is intense at times and even as one mystery’s solved, others seem to come to light. Charlie is exactly the kind of hero we need and Daniel’s her perfect match. I love these two and their story and just want more.

A fantastic, steamy, romantic suspense novel where for once the strong, protective figure is the heroine and not the hero. Charlotte “Charlie” Ravenel is a decorated former marine who now works private security. She carries the scars, both physical and mental from her military service. Her latest gig sees her on a film set in Spain protecting Kierra Williams, a young starlet from the attentions of a stalker which brings her into contact with Hollywood’s sexiest man Daniel Pierce. Daniel is a man of secrets and usually doesn’t let anyone get too close, that is until Charlie. There’s something different about her that draws him to her but Charlie is haunted by ghosts of her own and won’t make things easy for him.

I loved everything about this book. It had me gripped from the start. The story evolves gradually throughout building up the characters so you are what happens to them. From the build up of the plot as the stalker escalated his campaign against Kierra to the development of Daniel and Charlie’s relationship. The chemistry between the two is hot and steamy and together they just seem to fit. I loved that the Charlie was such a strong, independent character while still having a vulnerable edge to her and that Daniel loved her because of those strengths.

By the end of this book I still have a lot of unanswered questions mainly about the pasts of the main characters. Both still have their secrets so it’s more of a ‘to be continued’ rather than a happily ever after for now ending. All I really know is I can’t wait for the next book from Kelly Finley.

A new to me romantic suspense author where the female does the protecting?! Yes please and thank you. Bonus points for Pierce Her being set in the fast-paced world of television. That being said, it took me a bit to get into the story. There was so much 'setting the scene' and not letting it unfold naturally that it took away from my enjoyment a bit.

I really liked Charlie. She was strong and sure. Willing to do whatever it took to protect her charge, she bore the scars to prove it. She knew this job would be challenging and she was up to the task. Until she met the one thing she never counted on, Daniel. The handsome and talented actor that hid his pain behind a million-dollar smile. But Charlie saw it and wasn't afraid to call him out on it.

It didn't take long for Daniel to become enamored and impressed by Charlie. To want to spend more time with her. Too bad it was against the rules and getting caught would be detrimental to both of their careers. With treats escalating it was all Charlie could do to try and stay one step ahead of the person causing all the mayhem. Add hiding a forbidden affair and she was up to her eyeballs in stress.

Holy heart pounding! When the big reveal happened and I learned just who was behind all the chaos and fear my mind was blown. I did not see it coming at all (though a few small clues were there you really had to search to piece them together). And while Charlie and Daniel are happy for now, I like that Kelly Finley has more in store for them....

Pierce Her is an outstanding debut novel from Kelly Finley that will grab you from the start. This fast paced romantic suspense will have you devouring it to find out who is stalking the young actress and what will happen between the show’s lead and our main character, retired marine Charlie Ravenel. From start to finish, this book will keep you on your toes and guessing until the very end!

Charlie has been hired as security to protect the young actress on a hit new show entering its second season who is being stalked and threatened. Her mission in security is to always protect the girls after surviving the war torn middle east and the horrors she saw. As the threats escalate, Charlie’s mission becomes even more critical to keeping this young girl safe. Meanwhile sparks are flying between Charlie and Daniel Pierce, the show’s lead. Their behind the scenes chemistry is hot enough to set the place on fire, but both have secrets and pasts that haunt their steps. Only by letting go and trusting each other, can they explore the intense sparks that fly every time they are alone.

You’ll be racing to the end of this delicious read that will leave you wanting more. It is suspenseful and action filled read with a kick-### female lead. The slow burn romance leads to steam that is off the charts HOT. Romance and thriller readers alike will enjoy this title, so long as you enjoy some decadently hot scenes. I look forward to reading more in this series and seeing where things go after the explosive ending. Nothing will ever be the same for any of the characters and there are so many threads to explore in future books.

Pierce her - “Choosing lonely is easy. Braving love is hard, That’s why we raised you strong. So that you’re not afraid to love.”
"I could imagine sailing through her storm, never wanting to find land again."

Hunt her - "He was my harbor in a hurricane and my squalling storm... all at the same time."
"Compassion ruled me. Those who’ve never known real suffering judge others with such lofty malice. I never hated them for it. No, I pitied the righteous. Knowing that everyone will be humbled at least once in life. I certainly had been. Many times."
“Fear is only a feeling. It’s not a fact. Never let it make your decisions.”

Charlie Ravenel, is not the typical bodyguard who keeps celebrities safe, she has a crippling past, with raging PTSD from her time as a Marine. But when it comes to keeping her clients safe, she is lethal if you stand in her way. After 6 years she has one weakness, Hollywood's sexiest man alive Daniel Pierce, the hot British celebrity everyone wants. But she senses he's hiding something. Will he be her disasterous mistake?

I got these books from @katieandbreypa and the fantastic author an exchange for honest reviews, and I really enjoyed how different this story was from your typical romance, A female bodyguard protecting a male? YES!!! I loved the exciting aspects of the suspenseful parts and the perfect amount of spice that didn't drown out the story. I loved the character development and though I felt the 2nd book was a little drawn out in places I really couldn't get enough of Charlie and Daniel, and I can't wait to continue their story in book 3. All available on KU! GO CHECK IT OUT! Thanks for letting me be apart of this team?

Review:
I had never read before a book where the woman was the bodyguard. It was really interesting to see how protective Charlie was with the girls she was hired to protect. In this case, a young actress who was being stalked. Daniel was the co-star, famous, handsome, charming, caring. Charlie tried to keep her distance and protect herself and her heart, but she couldn’t.
I liked the book and I’ll read the next because I want to know what happens to them. However, I’d like to point some things:
1- I wish I saw more scenes of Charlie in action. The book focuses more in her feelings and traumas than the mystery solving.
2- The one thing Daniel did to Charlie, that in my book was unforgivable (you’ll have to read and see for yourself).
3- The repetition: I have a problem when something gets repeated many times in a book. That internal “Charlie girl” monologue started annoying me and I avoided the italic parts.
The rest was really good and Kelly did a good job with this book.

I was fortunate enough to be gifted a copy of both Pierce Her and the prequel Protect Her by the lovely Kelly Finley. I am so excited to get to be a part of her ARC team for this release.

If you like badass women, then Charlie Ravenel is the gal for you. She's a former Marine with secrets in her past that she would like to keep there, thank you very much. Her mission in life is to protect women and girls from harm, and she's made a career out of it by working personal security for celebrities. Charlie's current job is to protect teenaged Kierra from a stalker while the girl is shooting the new season of her popular show. The stalker is dangerous and devious, leaving no evidence as he terrorizes young Kierra.

Adding to Charlie's stress is the fact that Kierra's costar on the show is none other than THE Daniel Pierce, the sexiest man alive, who makes women, and a lot of men, swoon at his beautiful face and rock-hard physique. Charlie does not have the time or emotional energy to be thinking about Daniel's muscles, or his mouth, or his hair with that damn tendril that's always hanging down over his forehead...she definitely needs to keep him in the look but don't touch zone.

Daniel Pierce may have a reputation as a typical Hollywood ladies man, but he is also the kind of man who knows what he wants, and he wants Charlie. He is patient and persistent in his pursuit, trying to break down her walls while keeping his own secrets locked up tight.

Now, let's talk about steam. This book brings ALL the heat. The chemistry between Charlie and Daniel is off the charts, and it's a sweet slow burn as they get closer and closer to each other. Finley gives us all of the delicious details and left this reviewer with a need to take a break for some Ben & Jerrys because it was getting a little bit warm even in the middle of December. 🤣 And if you want even more steam, be sure to check out the prequel to this book, Protecting Her. That one left me wanting to book a flight to Ibiza and find myself a hot tub there, stat.

With a solid plot and intriguing characters, this story is already a winner, but Finley gives us even more. There are larger and more serious themes at play in this book, and they really sucked me in. Charlie is a former Marine who served in Afghanistan, and she saw a lot of bad shit and experienced a lot of trauma as a result. She now suffers from PTSD, and the effects on her can be debilitating. Her experiences as a Marine have led her to what could be seen as an obsession with protecting women and girls. She is willing to go to any lengths to keep her clients safe, and although Charlie views herself as a loner, someone without a family in her future, I see some loving maternal instincts in her in the way she communicates with and protects Kierra.

Finley shows her commitment to supporting our badass female vets, with ten percent of the proceeds from this series being donated to AMVETS - Sheroes on the Move, a veteran service organization with the goal of providing support for women who have served their country in all branches of the armed forces. I applaud Finley's generosity and hope that more authors find a way to funnel some of their book profit to worthy causes.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a darker side to their romance books; something with heat and heart, but which also explores themes of grief and trauma. I'm giving Pierce Her 4.5 stars, rounded up to 5 stars because Finley left me tingling with anticipation for what comes next in Charlie and Daniel's story.

Thank you again to the author for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Charlie Ravenel is a former marine and current bodyguard to young rising actress Kierra Williams on the set of the hit television series The Druid. Charlie's former life is one she'd like to keep a secret not because she's ashamed but because of the pain and tragedies she's faced in her short life. Daniel Pierce is a famous actor and Kierra's co-star who is beloved by all not only due to his work but also because of his charming personality. That's not to say, however, that Daniel doesn't have his own burdens that he'd like to keep out of the spotlight.

In this book, we have a heroine who is badass and confident in her own skin. Charlie is loyal to a fault to the people she cares about and the things she stands up for while being completely rational, even in times of stress. That is what makes her the perfect bodyguard while trying to discover the mystery of who is stalking her. Daniel, on the other hand, is not so much our typical hero in that he doesn't try to convince her that her life is dangerous and that he, the man, ought to be the one protecting her. The only reason he is a threat to Charlie is that he's amazing at breaking down the walls she's been building up the past six years.

I loved the realistic way this book built up the suspense slowly, keeping me on the edge of my seat hoping to solve the mystery of who was stalking Kierra. In reality, this is no short task by any means, and that was reflected in the book with how the author showed the characters' frustration and the tension as they tried to solve the mystery with so many dead ends and close calls.

The tension between Charlie and Daniel was phenomenal and kept me on the edge of my seat, wanting to see how their relationship would progress. Not only are they a wonderful couple who care about each other deeply and help each other to heal from their past traumas, but the chemistry they have is explosive as we see multiple times throughout the entire book. As every couple does, they have their ups and downs throughout it all, but in the end, they know that their love for one another is strong and true.

In short, this book had it all with the steamy romance and the amazing plot. I loved reading this and I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of the sequel, Hunt Her.

This was a good first full length book by this debut author. Well if you want to get technical, more than full length, definitely the opposite to the novella. We definitely got the answers we were seeking from the debut novella, and also on the other hand we were left with more questions from the A lister, I get that the book was already super long, but the secret hinted at is definitely due to blow at any moment.
Away from the blossoming relationship, I adored the extra plot thread of the stalker, that you will get all the answers to, even if you are continually re thinking your guess until they are revealed.
The only reason my rating is what it is, is because like other reviewers have said, it did feel dragged out at times, and got frustrated by both characters for different things. That certainly doesn't mean this wasn't a solid debut (minus novella), the author should definitely be proud of what she's put out and she definitely shows promise.
Eagerly awaiting already to get back with the characters which going by the authors developing style will lead to more questions. She certainly is learning quickly on how to hook readers, making them come back for more.

Fierce female bodyguard protecting women and fending off sexy male actors? Yes please!

I loved the concept of this book. The reverse role of a female bodyguard was so intriguing. It had me hooked instantly. I loved Charlie and how badass she was.

Besides the characters, the plot was really good. Charlie is on the set of a television show to protect a young actor who is being stalked. Everything is super tense and fast paced.

The relationship between Charlie and Daniel is so sweet. Yes he's a famous egotistical actor, but learning about her history humbles him. He waits for her to feel comfortable enough with him. I will say that the sex IMO is a little safe. She hasn't had sex in 6 years and he's a sex god yet their sex is pretty vanilla. The writing of said sex is also lacking detail and depth. There are also some odd uses of language to describe their sex acts.

The pacing in some parts is a bit weird. Time jumps around in an odd way and some of the chapters end so abruptly that it's a bit jarring.

I loved this story so I'll definitely be reading the next 2 books. Reviews on them coming soon!

I received a free copy of this book from the author.

This is the first book by Kelly Finley I've read but it won't be the last. Pierce Her is the beginning of a new series featuring former military turned bodyguards of A-list Hollywood actors/actresses.  This book features Charlotte (Charlie) and Daniel.  She's from South Carolina and he's from the UK.  How about those accent clashes?  Those would be music to my Southern ears for sure.

Charlie is hired to guard the female lead on a popular tv show who's been stalked by someone that works on set.  The actress is a minor and is scared out of her mind but willing for the show to go on.  Charlie has great instincts and is determined to fret out the stalker. What she doesn't count on is the instant attraction and the awakening of her body in regards to Hollywood Heartthrob Daniel Pierce.

Daniel wasn't expecting Charlie either. So their dynamic is pretty amazing - feeling each other out for a romance and how far they're willing to take it.  All the while Charlie is determined to take down the crazed stalker harassing her client.

Push comes to shove and all her hard work pays off. The hardest part is trusting herself and putting her heart on the line romantically.  Guarding is easy but all bets are off when it comes to Daniel Pierce and a second chance at love.

Now her mission is to protect and build up women which is how she meets Daniel. Charlie has taken to helping Kierra a Sixteen year old movie star with a stalker. Enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next installment.

I loved the strength of Charlie and the steam was electric! The backstory of the main character was hard to read at times but made sense for what Charlie was going through. I also had no idea who the mystery stalker was and I like that it kept me guessing.

The back and forth of will they hook up kept me at the edge of my seat. A female hero like Charlie is soooooo needed in books so this was refreshing to see the turn of power to the female for once; keep that coming Kelly!

I would've liked to see a little more of the female friendship if possible and maybe she does make more of an appearance in the future books but it was nice to see Charlie have someone to lean on. Although she also had that with Rob so maybe that's just me liking to see girl bonding going on.

I would absolutely recommend this author to anyone who likes to read a spicy, realistic, fun mystery read. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this book and the story as it had me captivated from the beginning to the end and I'm so glad I came across this author and book. I'm going to check out all of the other ones she has too.

Daniel and Charlie, wow what an incredible rollercoaster ride of an adventure that was. I love then as a couple, but more importantly I love watching them work their way through all of their issues to get to end of the line and their happily ever after. I love hearing about all the history of both characters and what Charlie does for a living and why she picks this specific career path. Charlie is such a kickass lady and doesn’t take crap from ANYONE, which is a good thing for Daniel. They have such a good chemistry and banter that is great. They are so in love with each other, they are just scared of the feelings and ramifications that go along with it. All of their friends are great secondary characters and add so much depth and richness to the story. I can’t not wait to see what happens next with Daniel and Charlie.

Mystery. Suspense. Badass Heroine. Two strong main characters w/ tragic pasts. This book has everything I could’ve asked for. And I knew it the moment I met author Kelly Finley and listened to her describe this series.

Celebrity Sex God Daniel Pierce meets his equal in former Marine, celebrity bodyguard Charlotte “Charlie” Ravenel.

Pierce Her (Book 1) was everything I hoped it would be. The verbal foreplay & romantic gestures were intoxicating. The chemistry was tangible and I was completely enraptured by the buildup. But the shared moments of rare vulnerability is what completely captivated me. Watching these two broken souls begin to come back to life was so addicting. I’m so in love w/ Charlie & Daniel that I’m jumping into book 2 right now.

And oh yeah, the suspense had me on the edge of my seat. The entire premise for the story & the reason why Charlie & Daniel meet… Charlie is hired to protect Daniel’s co-star 16 y/o Kierra who has a stalker. And holy cow does Charlie know how to kick some ass! I have a new Heroine crush right here!

I couldn’t wait to dive into this one after reading Holiday for Six, and I’m so glad I did. It was such a good read! The storyline pulled me in right away, and the spice? Chef’s kiss. I really enjoyed how the plot unfolded—it had just enough suspense and mystery to keep me guessing. I’ll admit, though, I’m feeling a little impatient because I wanted just a bit more in this one, but I know the rest of the series will tie it all together. I had some guesses about the stalker, and I loved how the reveal was paced, it kept me intrigued without dragging things out. Now, I’m just itching to find out what Daniel’s hiding. Honestly, I’m greedy for more, but that’s just a sign of how much I’m enjoying these books. I can’t wait to see where the rest of the series has in store!

Pierce Her is a terrific read. This is my first read of Kelly Finley and I'm looking forward to more to come. This keeps you on your toes as you try and work out who the stalker is that Charlie and her team are after. Charlie is such a strong female who can kick butt. She is a survivor. Daniel is an actor who has secrets of his own. You cannot wait to try and solve his little mysteries that you know are going to come out throughout this series. I love the chemistry between Charlie and Daniel so much. I cannot what to see where they go next in the Come for Me series. I could not get enough of this one. I love finding new authors. If you want that suspense filled romance, then click this one now.
