Can multiple minds occupy one body and lead separate lives?

Winnifred Winters has Agoraphobia. Winnifred Winters hasn’t left the house, not for two years, not since her mama passed.

So when she wakes up in the backseat of a taxicab in a town she’s never been to, she’s extremely alarmed. Panicked even. As if she needs anything more to add to her anxiety, she's been losing time lately—something made all the more frightening because dead girls have been showing up on the side of the road every other week.

Winnie—her alternate personality—takes over when Winnifred has a hard time coping with things. Dead girls too close to home has allowed Winnie to take control more often. She would never say that she is thankful that girls are being murdered, but it has afforded her more time of her own. Time to meet Thorn Pearson, the director of Pearson’s Home for Funerals

While Winnie becomes entangled with Thorn, Winnifred spends her time obsessing about the identity of the River Town Reaper

What happens when the only person between you and living your life…is you?

Darling Rose Gold meets Deanna from The Girl in 6E

…And then mix in a little bit of Sybil.

Disclaimer: I am a huge sucker for books about DID (Dissociate Identity Disorder)!
Reader Note: This is NOT a spoiler.

When I saw this book trending on Amazon, I had to to see if it lived up to the hype.

Winnifred is agoraphobic and dealing with the recent death of her mother. She hosts a true crime podcast in her basement with her friend, Trista. A serial killer is on the loose and these two amateur sleuths are determined to solve the mystery. When Winnifred wakes up in a cab In Miami, she knows she has lost time. How did she get there when she is too afraid to leave the house? Dr. Shirley, her tele-health doctor is on the case! The identity of the River Town Reaper must be discovered before it is too late.

This is an independently published book and I am happy to support new authors emerging on the thriller scene. Overall, I found the writing to be very choppy and in need of a professional edit. While the plot is compelling, more research into DID would have helped the accuracy. Suspension of your belief is absolutely necessary in this one, as there is a lot of unethical behavior. The plot is also very repetitive. Wake, eat, sex, sleep, repeat….

Did I mention sex? It feels a bit gratuitous and unnecessary.

Regardless, Shivener casts doubts on all of the the characters and successfully makes each one a suspect. The twists are very clever and won’t be revealed until the very, very end. She really makes you wait for it, but the reveal is worth it!

I don’t think the book was good at all. The book resembled a lot of books I used to see on wattpad when I was 13, the way the characters are randomly introduced, the story making no real sense, random handsome man kidnapping a young girl.. literally feel’s like a teen wrote a fan fiction. It’s confusing and very unrealistic.

Did not live up to the hype at all. The story was all over the place. Had really good potential but needed to be better refined and more thoroughly checked before it was published.

Normally I can finish a book in a day. This one took me almost four. I don’t even know where to start with this review.

Firstly, my biggest problem I have is the extreme self promoting of this book by the author in a certain social media group. If anyone had anything negative or any constructive criticism to say it was shot down by her friends and sister. You’d think this author was Agatha Christie. I can assure you she is not. I admire her for self publishing, but I will bet she has posted close to 200 times in that group.

Secondly, don’t even get me started on probably the worst cover in the history of book covers. She used her own image. So incredibly narcissistic. Has any author ever done that on a book that wasn’t an autobiography or memoir? Unfortunately, this will turn a lot of people off and they won’t give the book a shot.

Finally, the story is pretty cheesy. The dialogue is incredibly choppy and certain words are said over and over. It’s got a 50 Shades of Gray vibe to it, and that’s not a compliment. I read this on my Kindle and thankfully it was a part of the KU books.

I hope the author has learned not to use her image for the next book. She has potential. Hire someone to thoroughly go over the book and look for misspellings and grammatical errors.

Good luck.

No, just no. Way too much going on that doesn’t tie together throughout the book, and then the author realizes the book is almost over so she throws a bunch of shit together at the end. Poorly. This book is what happens when you like 50 Shades of Grey but you think it would be better if there was a serial killer running around…and then the main character has multiple personalities! Never trust internet hype, I seriously question the people who gave this 4 and 5 stars. 🤨

Incredibly juvenile writing, numerous cringe-worthy moments, and a waste of time. For how highly rated and recommended this book was, I was beyond disappointed. I understand where the author was going and it's a creative idea, but very poorly executed.

I’m not sure what all the high ratings are about. This book actually makes no sense. There are so many grammatical and silly spelling errors, but that’s besides the point. The plot is just all over the place and then at the end it tries to throw “twist after twist” that are just so silly. I wanted to stop reading it so many times, but I was unsuccessful trying to find an ending spoiler online that I just powered through hoping maybe it would get better. It didn’t.

Oh. Wow. Nope. It read like a parody of a thriller. I agree with the reviewers who stated the writing seemed very immature, like that of a preteen. The amount of cringe cannot be accurately described. It is obvious no research into DID was done prior to the writing. It's just a big nope book. Grateful it didn't cost me anything or I would be asking for a refund. Wish I could get a refund on my time but... moving on .

All of this authors little fb cult members giving it 5 stars 🤣

DNF after chapter 8… I decided to read this one after constantly seeing the author promote the book in the social media groups I’m in. I’ve really enjoyed the books I’ve read that involves the trope, and I had high hopes it would be another good one since the author makes it known right away. Unfortunately I just couldn’t get into it. There was too much going on that didn’t make any sense and the writing style just couldn’t keep my attention.

The writing is horribly immature. There is no character development. The reader is never able to understand why relationships develop because there is truly no explanation why. The dialogue is embarrassingly sophomoric (example: the love interest saying he is going to “blow his load” in his pants if he sees the female protagonist naked. Shudder.). This book glamorizes stalking and abusive, controlling behavior. Why is this still a thing in 2022? Abuse is not romantic.

All in all, I am happy to support a new author by purchasing her book, so I don’t regret it. However, I will not be purchasing any future books by this author.

Well, there went hours of my life that I won’t get back. Wish I’d DNF’d this book (I was already annoyed after the first few chapters) but I wanted to see what all the hype was about. After finishing it, I certainly don’t get the hype. All of the characters were irritating and unlikeable. Everything Thorn/Winnie from the beginning to end was bizarre and made no sense. The sex scenes were super cringe. The “twists” were meh and not surprising at all. If I see the phrase “my blossom” one more time, I’ll probably go batshit.

Poorly written. Poorly paced. Eugh.
Massive plot holes and unneeded, cheesy sex scenes. The twists we are smooshed into the last couple of pages.
I kept reading because i wanted to know why it had such a high rating... I still don't know why people like this book so much. Definitely a waste of time 🤷🏼‍♀️

If I hear «my blossom» one more time….. But for real. The book started ok, but went downhill really fast. The writing was really immature and the story had many plot holes. Didn’t like this book at all.

What utter crap. We are supposed to believe that this Mama had a necrotic foot that just fell off? How stupid! Last thing is “autistic spectrum” as one of her disorders. She doesn’t go anywhere without her oxygen bag either. Please don’t insult anyone else’s intelligence.

Complete waste of time. DNF

Just too immature for my liking. It’s like Nancy Drew meets 50 shades. The plot is ok.

I don't know where to start so l'Il just start by saying one word, wow. If you love dark thrillers, buy this when it’s out. The twists in that book are a LOT. There's a dual perspective, Winnifred and her other split personality
Winnie. Both have love interests (i'm looking at you romance peeps). Both have distinctively different personalities and both are intense in their own ways. The shift between each character is really smooth. And, you guessed it, all characters are just off. I, without a single hesitation, doubted each and every single character in that book. There was plenty of discreet clues but I really didn't see the ending coming. The story itself is heartbreaking if we want to look at the bigger picture BUT YOU WON’T SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE. I really enjoyed the writing style but would've preferred if the ending was more developed. However, all in all, I really enjoyed and loved this book and you should totally read it if you are a fan of this genre.

HOLY COW!!
But I'm not her, I'm me.
This was me during the entirety of She Is Me, Too: ➡😮😮⬅

I LOVED every single word of this twisted tale. Going in, I was worried because it's more of a crazy-ass, blow-your-mind-thriller and not a straight-up romance, but I shouldn't have doubted author TM Shivener. She did such a great job!

So the gist of it is that Winnifred has been losing time . . . because she's got an alternate personality that she doesn't know about: Winnie.

In the beginning, Winnie was my favorite . . .
I'd say get it together Winnifred, but it's really better for me if she doesn't.
. . . she was so irreverent and carefree compared to Winnifred - and protective.
Usually I tried to be the one to take the slaps, but it didn't always work out that way.
But slowly, Winnifred grew on me during all the crazy shit they went through.

The pacing was perfect and the way the tone of the writing would change - depending on which character's POV the story was being told from at that moment - was brilliant.

I'm not going to talk about the plot. You guys need to read it for yourselves. But sufficed to say with a serial killer on the loose, each girl having a different love interest (YES, you read that right!), a suspicious doctor, weird neighbors, and a fair-weather best friend there's no shortage of intrigue to keep you guessing.

And I loved the ending! I guessed the killer, but I didn't guess the killer - great twist!

Be careful with triggers here:

If you're into . . .
✔ thrillers
✔ dark romance
✔ serial killer mysteries
✔ mind f*cks
✔ plot twists
✔ suspense
. . . you've found your next read!

Wow just wow! I saw this book on my fb pages recommendation and it's really good! A lot of twist and turns in the story. it's a wild ride as go through every chapter. But the last chapter was a big reveal! Idk maybe it's because of my job but I can really understand the extent of the mental disorder mentioned in this book. Character's POV was on point. Maybe it's because the author is new or what but it is clearly noticed in the way she writes, there's always room for improvement for every writer. But overall it's a 4.5/5 for me.

If you're into psychological thrillers, serial killer, dark and twisted, suspense, and mental disorder kind of reader then you should read this book. But be mindful in reading books if you have triggers!

A twisted tale about a woman with agoraphobia and Dissociative Identity Disorder.

But… the execution was absolutely painful. I struggled to finish this, and the numerous mistakes and plot holes just wrecked what really could be a great story if done right and properly edited.

Dog Tails Smacking My Face, Say What?! 😳😯😳🤯🤯🤯

Wholy Mother Fluffer! I mean.. what!? Come Fluffin' On!! 😳 FLUFF ME! ... I can't even! ... just holy crap! I'm gonna be honest here, at first I wasn't sure with the book in the beginning - it felt like a car crash you pass where you have to look away but you can't! But then.. fluff me did it turn around and get dark, majorly twisted & fluffed up! So disturbing in the best ways! I kept going back and forth between who it was and holy fluffer almighty!
Winnifred has many illnesses and agoraphobia. She hasn't left the house in years since her mom passed away. She realizes she's missing time, almost like blackouts and things she can't remember. Enter Winnie, her alternate personality who helps Winnifred when life gets to be too much. But soon Winnie likes being out more and more and doing her own thing especially when she meets Thorn; who happens to be the director of Pearson's Home for Funerals and is enamoured with. Winnifred is more concerned about the River Town Reaper and what's going on in her town. So tell me, How can one exist with the other?
I devoured this like sneaking at midnight for that snack you can't stop thinking about - the last piece of chocolate cake in the dark so as not to wake anyone up! Freakin' fantastic! My jaw hit the ground too many times and I'm sure my eyes are permanently bugged out of my head now. Fluffin' superbly done!

I give this beyond 5 / 5 Bouquets! 💐

Not bad, lots of twists that weren't fully untwisted. I feel like the ending was rushed and could have been explained more. There was lots going on with this storyline it was hard to keep focused, but that could be just me. I LOVED the idea of multiple personalities, I wish we could have focused more of the pathology, and prognosis rather than the "love" scenes

Seemed like it was written by someone new to writing. It had so many cringe moments. No character development. Just randomly new characters flying in the scene without much back story or depth to them. Just seemed rush. This story and premise had such a great prospect, just wasn't executed to its full potential. I saw so many great reviews for this book from a book group on FB, then saw so many mixed reviews that got deleted by the admins and the author I'm that same fb group. So it peeked my interest to finally read this one. I was disappointed by the execution of the story, but an okay read overall.

This is one hell of a dark thriller! Wow!! I could not put this down I have ploughed through it in one sitting!

This book is littered with twists and just when you think you’ve worked it out - BOOM another twist! I loved the plot - Winifred winters is an agrophobiac who hasn’t left the house in 3 years , when she wakes up in a taxi not knowing how she got there this is when it all gets exciting. Winifred doesn’t know she suffers from multiple personalities but trust me when I say this is a book with reading! My favourite of the year by far.
