"Don't do drugs, kids! Especially not wizard drugs. Wizard drugs are a bad time ." Last year, the Occultex team participated in one of the largest paranormal investigations in history. And now they're broke. While running odd jobs for the sinister Lazlo twins, Clark and Zeke lose track of a drug-addled, geriatric necromancer. It's a mad race across the strangest corners of the city as Occultex tries to find their missing necromancer before incurring the wrath of the Lazlos.
Jason Murphy lives in Texas and spends most of his time writing novels, screenplays, video games, narrative podcasts, and comics. When not researching or writing about tradecraft, the occult, or the fantastic, he can be found spending time with his family, reading, or watching movies. He collects records, PEZ dispensers, and Conan comics. He can occasionally be lured out of his lair with the promise of barbecue/tacos and good conversation.
An excellent sequel to Killer Candy! I preordered the ebook and started reading 1 minute after midnight. It's now 3:43 am and I have work tomorrow. Absolutely worth every minute. I can't wait to see what happens in future books.
They just keep getting better. Another fucking banger from the one and only Jason Murphy. I'd take one Occultex entry over a decade worth of Dean Koontz shovelware or Stephen Kings spooky cars and cowboys. Charge more for these dude, they're worth far more than I'm paying..
P.s. Can we please get another inbetweener with some background on Violet and Andi? I'm itching for more Rich Witches and magic travelers.
This book stressed me out. Maybe the next one can be a little more chill. I'm not really into chase tales but I like these characters and that is nice. Liking another man's imagination is nice. I'm going to keep doing it.
