I think this story has a really interesting set-up with Narcissa's disappearance. Once again, Lou has blown me away with her creativity.
I will say, the chronology had me confused, because there's a very quick 10-year jump right off the bat, with no indication. Harry begins the story describing himself as an eighteen year-old, but then suddenly we're in a cafe ten years later.
Also, it's a tad too insta-lovey. They definitely become friendly too quickly for my liking, and that switches really quickly to a romance, which just didn't come off very natural.
Other than that, I really enjoyed this story. The writing is really beautiful at times, and really witty at others, making me laugh out loud as the main couple teases and snarks at each other, as they should.
I also love the CATHARSIS, the SHEER SATISFACTION, of a character (typically the main one) going through an insane and/or traumatic ordeal, and then the love interest FINDING OUT and being all horrified and PROTECTIVE AND DRAMATIC and PROPERLY SHAKEN over it. It's the same thing with the magical journals. Ugh, I loved the whole thing with the journals.
