Piper Rayne is a USA Today Bestselling author duo. Our goal is to bring you romance stories that have "Heartwarming Humor With a Side of Sizzle" (okay...you caught us, that's our tagline). A little about us... We both have kindle’s full of one-clickable books. We're both married to husbands who drive us to drink. We're both chauffeurs to our kids. Most of all, we love hot heroes and quirky heroines that make us laugh, and we hope you do, too.
I needed this rom com in my life right about now. It came at the right time. This is definitely a feelgood romance with all the great feels. I felt like I was watching a Hallmark movie the entire time I was reading. The only thing that was missing was that it wasn't Christmas. (Hallmark movie fans will get that).
Juno and Colton have been best friends since they were six. Now Colton is getting married and Juno hates it. It was truly a friends to lovers book. I won't give away any spoilers but there was no cheating involved in this book. I loved how the author spun the tale. It was perfect.
This is my first foray into the Bailey clan. I loved it and felt like it was one great family and I can't wait to catch up with the other books and learn about the other brothers and sisters. This book can be read as a stand-alone but I think you will enjoy it more and know the characters if you have read the series.
Piper Rayne is a new author for me but she is awesome and definitely on my auto-buy list. She had a perfect combination of sweet with naughty. Colton really surprised me in the bedroom...whew.
4.15⭐ Genre ~ contemporary romance Series ~ The Bailey's #7 Others in the series ~ the whole series Setting ~ Alaska Publication date ~ June 23, 2020 Est Page Count ~ 265 (31 chapters +e) Audio length ~ 6 hours 35 minutes Narrators ~ Tim Paige, Meg Sylvan POV ~ dual 1st Featuring ~ small town, MMC is engaged, best friends to lovers, some steamage
Juno & Colton have been best friend's for ages. He's currently engaged and as he's about to tie the knot she's realizing she made a mistake not expressing her feelings. Is it too late? And totally rude to the bride? Maybe ~ maybe not.
The flashbacks showing where it all started for these two was perfectly adorable. A bit of a slow burn waiting for these two to get things figured out and of course they both made me mad in the 3rd act, but all in all one of my favorites of the series.
Series notes: Definitely recommend reading the series in order. The whole clan is heavily involved.
Narration notes: Finally a different female narrator for the series. She really captured Juno’s tone perfectly, especially when she was sad about Colton’s pending nuptials.
Until I got my hands-on Juno's story, I really struggled with why she didn't admit to the feelings we all knew she felt for Colton. It never even occurred to me that she might be afraid, she has always come across as so self-assured. Juno held this aura of mystery that I never really bothered to try see through. But she felt so together and seemed to know what was going on with all her siblings I just figured she would have all her shit together. So as much as it sucked for her it was nice to see she was just as clueless as the rest of us.
Poor Colton was the one to suffer for Juno's fears and insecurities. But he had the patience of a saint and he knew that Juno was his destiny and he waited. I have to admit I was worried he had given up when we learnt of his engagement in the last book. And then I worried there was going to be a load of angst and drama. Of course, I should have known Piper Rayne would not steer us wrong.
I loved that this book had a lot of flash backs to them as they grew up. Showing us not just them but a lot of the Bailey clan through the ages. And even though we got a lot of the family, they were background to the story, except Gma D of course. As always the teasers for not just King’s book but also Sedona's has me wanting to dive into both books right now. Grrr I hate waiting.
A friends to lovers romance that brings the emotion, plus some sizzling heat. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, but I just LOVE the Bailey clan!!!
Juno is a matchmaker, so chasing her own happily ever after should be easy, right? However, losing her parents at thirteen left it’s mark. She’s afraid to take that step with anyone. Losing him is not an option.
Colton has always been by her side. The best friend she had since she was six years old, the one that can count on for anything. He’s her person, but she refuses to cross the line from friends to lovers no matter what her heart wants. Now she may just be too late because Colton is marrying someone else.
Juno struggles with losing the future she deserves, if she can’t move on from her past. This romance delivers some Bailey drama, a bit of angst and some heartache, but also the perfect HEA.
The Bailey clan always leaves me wanting more and that says a great deal about this series. We are seven books (plus two novellas) into the series. I cannot wait for the final two books!
The story is cute …. but it is lacking. For the situation they were in there should have been more angst and pining from both main characters. And they have good chemistry and there are many sweet moments…. But the romance part felt rushed and like something was missing and kind of jumbled.
The main characters seem rather formulaic…. Stereotypical in both appearance/looks and personalities etc.
The grandmother is rather intrusive and does not respect boundaries or privacy. And her character is kind of over the top and annoying. (jarring to read)
On the plus side it is a small town romance with ordinary people with mostly ordinary jobs (veterinarian, tattooist, chef, fireman etc.) No billionaire in sight.
Piper and Rayne gift us with a journey through Colton and Juno’s friendship that started when they were six years old. This was by far the most emotional story of the series.
This book had me in tears for about the first 25-30% of it, flashbacks and heartfelt moments of times past from their childhood together. We are taken on a journey from the moment Juno and Colton met, to her parents deaths, to preteen & teen years, to the present day, some of it was funny, some of it was super sad, all of it was relevant in the development of their relationship.
She ties the straw wrapper in a knot, pulling both ends to see if it breaks. She’s been doing that since high school. It tears right in the middle of the knot, and she crumples it in her hand. “Someone’s thinking of you.” I nod toward the now-balled white paper. “I think I’ve just mastered how to pull the paper, so it breaks in the middle of the knot,” she grumbles. “No, it’s because I’m always thinking of you.” She blows out a breath and sips her diet soda. “You can’t say things like that.” “Why not? I’m your friend.” “My friend who’s about to become someone’s husband.”
My most anticipated book from The Baileys!!! The main trope is childhood best friends-to-lovers but the thing is: Juno found a match for her best friend Colton and now he’s getting married to someone else.
Right off the bat let me just say that I’m so glad there isn’t any cheating in this book. It also made me happy to find out the reason for Colton’s engagement with someone else to begin with —
The romance was cute but a bit lacking tbh. Juno and Colton’s chemistry and sweet moments have always been shown throughout the previous books and here we see more into their relationship. It was a bit lacking… there’s a lot more potential, there could’ve been more angst and pining given their situation. I'm a bit disappointed with the romance aspect.
I love the flashback scenes because it showed the friendship and loveline that Juno always had with Colton, but also the family dynamic of the Baileys. Even Liam and Colton!! They’ve been in the lives of the Bailey kids for so long and they’ve always felt like family.
It made me appreciate their dynamic a lot more too since it was shown how the two eldest siblings (Austin and Savannah) stepped up to take care of the rest of them after the accident happened, how the Baileys have always been looking out for each other growing up, and ofcourse Grandma Dori being there for them to take care of them too.
I just love how the authors are able to bring life to all 9 siblings and Grandma Dori in every book. I can’t wait for the next one as always!! I can’t believe this series is nearing its end :(
Secrets of the World's Worst Matchmaker by Piper Rayne was everything I was hoping for. The storyline is well written, entertaining from start to end, all the characters play a part in making this such a good read and I loved revisiting all the Baileys and their loved ones.
Juno and Colton have been best friends since they were very young, they've been through so much together and I totally understood Juno's fear of giving into her feelings for Colton. For Colton there's only ever been one woman for him, and that's Juno. He's been patient and understanding of her fears but the time has come for him to open himself up and show her together they can overcome Juno's fears and enjoy these intense feelings they share. These two made my heart swoon with their story, I loved them together, I have no doubt they were going to have a long and happy life together.
This series keeps getting better and better. Each Bailey sibling has been a joy getting to know and I can't wait to get Kingston's book next in Winning my Best Friend's Girl
Overall, Secrets of the World's Worst Matchmaker is a beautiful and heartwarming read and a great addition to the Baileys series.
„Jede Frau verdient einen Mann, der sie so ansieht wie Colton dich.“ (Stella zu Juno in Secrets of a smalltown girl)

Secrets of a small town girl ist Band 7 der Baileys-Reihe.
Mein Fazit

Can’t wait✨
Sometimes when you want something so bad and you finally get it you realize maybe the anticipation was better than actually getting it and that’s how I feel about Secrets of the World’s Worst Matchmaker by Piper Rayne. I liked this book, but as I have wanted this book from the start of this series for me it fell a bit flat.
Friends since they were 6 years old everyone in Lake Starlight and both their families, thought Juno and Colton would one day profess their love for one another and get married. However 6 months ago Colton got engaged to Brigette and to say Juno isn’t dealing with it well is an understatement. I had issues with this even before I knew why they got engaged because Colton loved Juno, but she didn’t want to ruin their friendship and instead of trying to work on figuring out her issues he gets engaged. Don’t think I just blame this on Colton because I don’t; Juno was equally as guilty maybe even more. Always putting in the aloof, quirky front Juno had some issues stemming from her parents death when she was 13, I mean we all know it affected the Bailey kids in different ways, but for Juno it was a bit more because Juno had already felt like an outsider because she doesn’t look like any of her siblings. What I found hard to accept was Colton knows everything about Juno, he reads her so well and he knows there’s something holding her back but he didn’t insist on trying to get her help to deal with, he didn’t talk with Grandma Dori or her siblings to get their help with it, he just decided to play games and get engaged to a women he doesn’t even love. I don’t like when people play games in relationships and so this was a huge turn-off for me.
In every other book in this series when they were together I felt their chemistry and finding out a bit about their relationship through the years was a bit of an eye opener. In this book, their chemistry seemed off and while their sexy times were plentiful I just felt like something was missing. I honestly needed more time with them as lovers than the 50% of the book dealing with Colton’s upcoming wedding and Juno dating a different guy. I felt the part that was actually THEIR time was rushed and a bit chaotic and choppy. I get that Juno was trying to figure out her entire life not just her relationship, but the story just wasn’t cohesive.
This book seemed heavier than normal for this series. I did enjoy the time spent with the various Bailey family members. I loved seeing how the new parents were faring. I really loved the sibling moments between Juno and Kingston and seeing Kingston in a new light. Some very interesting developments at the end make me excited about what’s to come.
From time to time an author (or writing duo) I love will put out a book that doesn’t work for me and that’s to be expected. Not every reader is going to love every book. While this book didn’t work for me, I’m sure there will be a hundred readers who love it. I have a long relationship with Piper Rayne and this blip isn’t going to keep me from being the first in line for any of their upcoming releases.
While not my favorite book in this series, Secrets of the World’s Worst Matchmaker was still entertaining and an integral part of this series and not to be missed.
Secrets of the Worlds Worst Matchmaker by the authors Piper Rayne was the seventh book in their Baileys series.
Part of me was excited to finally be getting this book - but part of me was dreading it. Juno Bailey and Colton Stone have been best friends since they were six. They had been inseparable and knew everything there was to know about the other but they had never crossed the line. Anyone who knew them, family included, knew they were perfect for each other, but they stayed friend zoned. Now Colton was engaged and their dynamics changed.
To tell the story fully, the authors started at the present but also took us back in time periodically to Colton and Juno’s childhood memories for perspective. It wasn’t the typical friends to lovers trope - and I was grateful. The authors threw in some surprises with a few curves while simultaneously building up other Bailey stories - Kingston and Sedona respectively. But with that said, the entire Bailey clan was still front and center with fun bantering, over protectiveness and loyalty. Who doesn’t love a good Bailey story?!
Kingston is up next in Winning My Best Friend’s girl with Sedona not far behind in Rules for Dating Your Ex.
Juno’s story is FINALLY here and what a story it is! Secrets of the World’s Worst Matchmaker is the story of Juno and Colton, two people who have been friends forever (and in love with each other as well). This friends to lovers story was SO much more than I expected and left me absolutely speechless. The banter, chemistry, and the friendship between Juno and Colton were fantastic. This is by far my favorite book out of the entire series and it was great to see the entire Bailey clan in this book. As usual, Piper Rayne ends this book with such a mic-drop which leads us to the last two books in the series!
Juno and Colton have been sprinkled through the previous Bailey Books. It’s always been a “are they or aren’t they” type of vibe and I think I didn’t realize how much the not knowing was killing me until I started reading this book. It was like the best dessert that sneaks up on you and drives you wild and makes you want a double or triple serving of it. You keep coming back for more because it leaves such a scrumptious taste in your mouth...that was this book!
Juno and Colton give us backstory to the Bailey Clan and it gives us the downlow of their epic friendship. It gives us the foundation of what can be the best romantic relationship of all time. Piper Rayne delivers these two on a silver platter and then gives you and more.
I read the book in one day because I HAD to know what would come of these two. I HAD to see if their love could be after so many years of friendship! I HAD to fall in love with them because they invested so much love in my heart for them. And YOU HAVE to pick up your copy and read this beautifully brilliant book!!!
Juno’s character has so much more depth than we could have ever dreamed of. She is strong, but also needs to feel secure. She needs to see that her love can coexist and thrive in a world that has jaded her because of her parents death. Colton is the man that has stood by her and been there for her even when she thought no one was around. You find out so much about Colton’s character that your jaw drops at the beautiful soul he has and the way that he has always been there for Juno. A true partner through and through. Piper Rayne hit a home run with ALL the feeling in this book!

~ Colton, Kapitel 25
This family has always had an air of emotion to their stories but Juno and Colton went a bit further than just emotion. It isn’t just their journey, it’s the decisions this author duo made in the unfolding of the journey. The flashbacks to when they were just kids not only added to our understanding of their background/history but it added a layer of emotion beyond just a *happy sigh*; it added a layer to their unbreakable bond. GAH, I loved this story so much!
I did quite a bit of laughing as well with this story. These two couldn’t get out of their own heads to save their lives … until they did and then it was just glorious. I am always so darn entertained when I read a Piper Rayne story that it’s ridiculous LOL Sometimes, I just want to binge their books for an entire week because they just make me happy!!
Taking a detour through the small town of Lake Starlight has become a regular occurrence in my chase of HEAs. Never short from an adventure, these permanent residents are ready to take you along as they pursue love relentlessly. When the town’s besties are ready to proclaim love. Juno Bailey and Colton Stone, I was more than ready to see it unfold.
When you can you wed and when you can’t you become a matchmaker. Juno Bailey the town’s Cupid was busy finding love for the townspeople. In a quest for love except her own, that is until she finds herself in the middle of her best friend’s and his fiancée promptly wedding. Is it to late for the matchmaker to find her HEA with the man of her dreams. The one who picked up the pieces when her world crashed, her one and only Colton Stone.
Colton has pictured walking down the aisle to the one person he promised his heart to all his life. But waiting for her to come around to the idea of them is taken a toll. Now he finds himself engaged to the new French resident of Lake Starlight and with weeks till the wedding the one person he can’t get out of his mind or heart is sending him some mixed signals. Maybe trying to put Juno in his past is not as easy as he thought, especially when he can’t stop reliving the times when the lines would blur and they found themselves sharing intimate moments that lead to lingering touches. When their eyes would hold a little longer. When the short kisses to cheeks that lead to her lips. How can he forget the particular time that lead to her being his first. When you love someone, you never give up on them. Maybe it’s time to reconsider this marriage of convince before it’s a little to late.
Love and friendship mix with some pin up sexy times was the right amount of happiness to keep me glued to the pages. Getting flashbacks of Colton and Juno’s friendship was another highlight of my stay. I actually enjoyed the flashbacks of them being intimate, I was left longing for more. At the end, I was extremely happy no one walked away with a broken heart. So until next time Baileys, or book 8 when my next favorite trope lands on my kindle...”Winning my best friend’s girl.”
5 Star Review Secrets of the World's Worst Matchmaker (The Baileys #7) by Piper Rayne
I have been waiting for Juno and Colton’s book for what seems like forever and it was everything I hoped for and so much more. Along with her siblings, being orphaned at left them all devastated. They all reacted in different ways and for Juno, she does not want to fall in love as she cannot contemplate being left alone, so she works as a matchmaker and refuses to entertain the possibility of falling in love. Or is it already too late? Juno and Colton have been friends for years and it is only after she pushed Colton away to find love, that Juno realises that she is in love with Colton and has been for years. Everyone in the family and around them knew this, the only ones who appeared to be oblivious were Juno and Colton themselves. It was great catching up on all the couples and their extended family and friends. As I expected there were laughs, some drama, a little angst and a whole lot of love as the family watch the train wreck that has become Juno and Colton’s friendship, now that Colton has a fiance and is planning his wedding. It was so great to be back with the Bailey’s as I have become invested in their lives. Piper Rayne’s characters are strong and so easy to relate to that you cannot help but become invested in the story that they weave.
Oh man, I just can't get enough of this family. And this story, I really wanted to smack Juno so hard. Like hello wake up you gonna loose him. But we didn't see that reason coming though.
Colton and Juno has been in love with each other since they were 13years old. But Juno decided that instead of wanting Colton as a boyfriend she rather want him in her life as her best friend. Then he wouldn't leave her. But when Colton announced that he was getting married, things kind of changed. And now she was in real danger of not being his person anymore. How was she going to cope with this loosing the only man she has loved to someone else.??
Like I said I really wanted to hit not just Juno but Colton as well. But we get to see how these two navigate their way to their happily ever after. I don't think I will get tired of this family and knowing there is only two books left, man that's gonna suck☹ But hopefully its not the end of this duo and their amazing writing ❤ 😊
SECRETS OF A SMALL TOWN GIRL ist also die perfekte Kombination.
I was highly anticipating this story because it was easy to see in the earlier books in this series there was something between Colton and Juno despite them denying it, but I was disappointed in the story. Too much time was spent on Colton's upcoming wedding to Brigette and Juno dating a different guy and not enough on them discovering each other as the adults they are today and delving into the issues with them being together. I didn't hate the story, I just didn't love it like I do most of this writing duos work.
The Baileys have my heart! This family has been through so much, but are AMAZING people. I am a huge fan of the characters and the entire world. The authors make you super invested and feel as if you are right there with them, and boy do they also create anticipation for future books as well!
Secrets of the World's Worst Matchmaker is about our favorite matchmaker that is completely blind about how much she her best friend means to her, until he is about to get married.... to someone else. This book will give you TONS of feels. From my heart aching to my stomach cramping from laughing so much, this book is SO good. It is not an easy process, but will our matchmaker get her match?
All in all, the book (and entire series) is a must read for any romantic! It is complicated and messy and heartbreaking but also full of hope. I totally dig it and give it 5 stars and cannot wait for the rest of the series!
PS: Thank you to Piper Rayne and Wildfire Marketing Solutions for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly.
