Dayton #3

No Romeo

Rate this book
To everyone in Dayton, Hendrix Hunt was the tattooed bad boy, the bully, the player. Guys hated and feared him. Girls wanted to tame him. And I just wished I could forget him.

Two years ago, Hendrix was my world. Then the taint of Dayton ruined everything, breaking us both with secrets and lies. I destroyed him and now he wants to destroy me...

They say love is patient, that love is kind, but when love is broken it becomes filled with jealousy and revenge.

Hendrix Hunt was no Romeo. But unfortunately, just like Juliet, I was in love with my enemy.

childhood best friends to lovers to enemies to lovers ?? the 𝕤𝕦𝕡𝕖𝕣𝕚𝕠𝕣 trope ✨🦋🥰😍💖🧎‍♀️

my favorite in the series, loved the characters and the couple so much, oh my god. i just wish the conflict was handled better 💀 there was a huge build-up and i was super invested in it (to the point i even cried jkjkdaj) but then everything was so rushed in the end 😔

still a great book though 🤍
Time might have changed some things, scarred us, and pulled us apart, but if I left this town tomorrow and never saw him again, married someone else, and lived an entire life… When I was old and gray, Hendrix Hunt would still be my one.

I knew about 5% in i was going to be crying throughout this book and uh i definitely did.

ENEMIES TO LOVERS in a dark romance book is the only non-fantasy enemies to lovers i will accept.

Even though she was blond, had blue eyes and was 5’2 I still really loved Lola. She’s such a bad bitch even after all the shit she had to go through (CRIED MY EYES OUT OVER HER)

Hendrix. Yes. (cryin)

The dynamic between the two…amazing! like are you joking me. Broke my heart.

HURT HER AND HE’LL KILL YOU🤩 (maybe literally)

4.5/5⭐️

I'm obsessed with this book you guys!!! It's so freaking good, the ANGST is on another level 🥺 Hendrix & Lola are seriously one of the most unhinged/psycho exes and I am so here for it!

No Romeo is about Hendrix Hunt and Lola Stevens love to hate to love romance. They've been a couple since the beginning of time. However, something drastic happened that caused their once solid relationship to crumble...

2 years later Lola is back in Dayton to be with her little sister Gracie and to graduate high school, but there's only one complication and that's Hendrix - his ex-boyfriend.

Guys when I tell you the ANGST in this book is superbly done! the narrative is unputdownable, I can't stop myself hence I sacrifice my sleeping habit (which is no surprise btw 😌).

Everything about this book is enthralling, the push and pull, the longing 💔, the pain of betrayal, the intensity, and the dynamic between Hendrix and his Medusa it's so good!

When I will make my top 20 romance reads by the end of the year, No Romeo will undoubtedly be on that list! 😍

𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 *

- second chance romance
- lovers to enemies to lovers high school romance
- mutual pining 💔
- steamy 🔥🔥🔥
- funny banter (Hendrix you're the man 🤠)
- amazing friends dynamic
- secrets and betrayal
- TWS ahead ‼️
- unhinged, possessive H
- badass/strong h
- one of my favorite read
- couldn't highly recommend this enough 😭!

With this third book in L.P. Lovell and Stevie J. Cole's Dayton series, I found myself re-immersed into the lives of these wonderful scarred souls, Hendrix, Lola and their tribe, and I loved every minute of their raw and intense journey.
The touching and broken atmosphere of the town, the competition and hate between the rich and the poor areas utterly get to me, in this book, like in the others. The fight and ingenuity of these kids had me hopeful all along. I couldn't help but root for them. The authors made it so easy to relate to their characters.
I smiled, and laughed out loud at their antics. Their fun banter enticed me. Their heartbreak was palpable.
"We’d formed a bond out of desperation and survival, one that taught us love, when we had no clue what that word meant, and there was no erasing that. No taking it down or cutting it off…"
Enemies to lovers, Lola and Hendrix are the incarnation of strength and resilience. There's so much love in their story, amongst the drama and tragedy, that I actually can qualify this opus as a feel good read. Badass doesn't come.even close to Lola's personality, she is so much more than that! She never backs down but also knows to choose her battles.
No Romeo is cleverly built, I had a fantastic time lost within the pages. I highly recommend it.
PS; Although the last book of the trilogy, No Romeo can be read as a standalone, so don't hesitate to dive in!

Book #3 in the Dayton series

enemies to lovers, second-chance, t.w.: sexual assault, abortion, abuse, bully, high school romance

it was hard to go through some of the chapters because of the truthful and sad moments that both Lola and Hendrix went or are going through but it was worth it (their ending seemed a bit rushed). It was a great story between two former soulmates, lovers, enemies to lovers.

No Romeo, book three in the Dayton Series by Stevie J. Cole & L.P. Lovell-
My rating is 3.5 stars (rounded up)

I was pleased to see Hendrix finally got his book. Let’s face it, he’s the most interesting character of this series, right? He’s a wild child and he’s freaking hilarious!

This is childhood friends to lovers, to enemies, back to lovers. Hendrix’s story is actually pretty touching. He spent two years in a downward spiral after losing Lola. Two years that he never understood what happened, or why it happened. And then, Lola came back and Hendrix was pissed. He tried to hard to avoid her and when he couldn’t he tried to make her as miserable as possible. Lola never hated Hendrix but she tried to pretend she did…for him. So that he could get over her. So that she wouldn’t have to reveal what had happened two years ago.

The plot was pretty predictable. I was able to identify what had happened to tear them apart, almost immediately. But, the story is interesting, tumultuous, heartfelt and heartbreaking. These two were inevitable. When it came down to it, these two had always loved each other and were always going to find their way back to each other. The path back was difficult. There was healing that needed to be done. Secrets to be told, betrayals to be forgiven. I enjoyed the epilogue and seeing Zepp & Monroe, Bellamy & Drew and Hendrix & Lola, six years after this book.

I see that Wolf will get his book this spring and at this point in the series, I’ll be watching for its release.

I received an advance reader copy and am leaving this review voluntarily.
( I realize these novels are on KU, Candi Kane PR sent me this trilogy to read in anticipation of the release of Wolf’s novel.)

I've been wanting to read a book by these two girls for so long that when I was able to get my hand in this baby... Lord have mercy.
Stevie J Cole and L.P. Lovell have this dark side that will hook you up. Trust me. Lol
The first duet that I read from them it's still engraved in my memory and I can't forget it. Nor do I want to.
I was curious to see if this new book would have that same impact.
No Romeo is their latest release and explores the lives of Hendrix and Lola.
Hendrix is the typical bad boy, that guy that doesn't show emotions because he hides them behind his manwhore ways.
What better way to get revenge on the girl that crushed his heart than to sleep around? He's doing everything to forget that she even existed until she's back in town.
Lola left her heart behind the day she left town.
They say that the better way to protect the ones you love is to stay away, but how can you live when you feel like your other half is missing?
After living or let's just say surviving, out of town for two years, she's back.
She's back to protect her sister, not to be reunited with her true love. But...
JFC... What the hell...
My heart was all over the place and I couldn't concentrate on anything.
Jesus. I knew that this book was going to be brutal but Dayum... It was so much more.
Stellar plot, well written, super engaging, intense, and infuriating at some point.
These two drive me nuts.
Their game of cat and mouse, their push and pull... Jesus.
This book got my attention from the first page and I couldn't put it down.
I was so into the story that I saw myself screaming at my husband because he interrupted me... Shane in him... He knows not to interrupt my readings. Lol
It was a rollercoaster of emotions that's for sure and I loved every minute of it.
Great book girls. You guys rock and I can't wait for more. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I am a simp for anything childhood-friends-to-lovers turned enemies-to-lovers because one of them left the other dry for a while, but there is a way with words authors have to execute for me to actually really enjoy it. for me I thought this book was good but not GREAT. as in there were parts that I rlly liked and there were parts where I rlly didnt like and it totalled to be even so therefore its just good. average. for example: I liked how Hendrix tried fighting his attraction towards her from the start but inevitably had his heart on his sleeve by like the first 1/4 of the book but that was offset by how annoyed I was that she didnt tell him the truth. like I understand that they are both psychotic asf (which makes them the perfect match 🙂) but like gawd that is frustrating... esp the back and forth that ensues like her saying oh lets be friends... but continues to fuck him knowing there are so many feelings involved... its literally a mess. Also I'm gonna agree with this other review that said the ending was rushed because it was rushed like emphasis on the rushed because we got no scene with johavan... like it was only implied? idk if the ending scene is even supposed to imply it... like I'm a little lost ngl 🧐

drug abuse, extreme poverty, high school, 2nd chance romance, friends to enemies to lovers, bullying, sexual assault(off page), child abuse and abortion(off page)

Stevie J. Cole and L.P. Lovell take us back into the strained atmosphere of Dayton and Barrington, where the animosity between the two schools reached new levels. Their worlds coexists with a fierce hatred for each other. Pranks, violence and competition rage. No Romeo was an enjoyable enemies to lovers romance that focused on Hendrix and Lola. It is the third interconnected book in the Dayton High series and can EASILY be read as a standalone. Lola is back in Dayton after being away for 2 years, now’s she trying to get her life in order and take care of her sister all while trying to avoid her ex-boyfriend Hendrix. Hendrix has been trying to get over Lola for the past 2 years but now she’s back in town everything changes. Secrets are revealed and revenge is executed - what a good way to get your HEA!

30/10. I loved Zepp & Monroe in No Prince. I loved Bellamy & Drew in No Good. but MY GOODNESS Hendrix & Lola. The history, the heartbreak, the angst. (of course spice 🔥 too!) This book explained so much if Hendrix’s behavior in the past 2 books. I LOVE how the same characters are all present in all 3 books as well as new ones. I did think the build-up to the main “issue” of the book compared to the resolution was a tad anti-climactic at first, but upon further reflection it was perfect. So fitting. Also, I normally do not like epilogues, especially when usually always end with pregnancy and children, however in this case it was absolutely fitting. I do wish there was a 4th book about Wolf, however this trio of books is perfection. highly recommend.

3.25 stelle!

She could be a traitorous Medusa all she wanted, but she was my traitorous Medusa.

I don't know what it is about the crazy ones that just grab me by the throat and never let go, but damn. 🥵💜 Hendrix Hunt was one of the nuttiest lunatics but he was a loyal and sweet one. And no one is allowed to argue that with me.

She was heroin, and I was a fucking addict.

Because I'll state this now, yes, Hendrix sampled pretty much every girl his age in their county in the two years him and Lola were broken up. That's just a fact but that boy loved the hell out of Lola Stevens and no one said love was rational. And they certainly never said a broken heart to an obsessively in love teenage boy was rational either. Hendrix only became the manwhore we saw in the first two books because he was trying to exorcize the ghost of Lola from his heart, something that was impossible and he knew it. Was it pretty or romantic? Nah, but it was real. And he hated himself for it too. So, anyone hating on him for that can just shush. Because yes, he whored it up but he never kissed or shared any intimacy with any other girl because Lola was always his ride or die.

We’d formed a bond out of desperation and survival, one that taught us love, when we had no clue what that word meant, and there was no erasing that. No taking it down or cutting it off…

And the sole fact that crazy man felt such guilt over what he did during their breakup before he even knew the real truth behind it spoke far more than the actions of an out of control teenager who was running from his feelings.

Lola had broken my heart, but what hurt worse was not being with her. Every day I didn’t wake up next to that girl, it felt like I lost a little more of myself.

I genuinely loved Hendrix which is hilarious to me because I found him ridiculous in the first two books. Although he was funny as hell throughout the series I just wasn't sure what to expect from him, but clearly I just needed to climb inside his head to really appreciate him. He was just absurd but how could I not love him when he would've done anything for Lola or his brother?

I wished like hell I could erase every girl I put between us, trying to forget how much she had meant to me, how much she had hurt me.

Now Lola, I loved her. I loved that she was just as tough as the guys. That she didn't take any shit, even from Hendrix. She was a bad bitch when she needed to be and I enjoyed the hell out it. I hated what happened to her and what led to her doing what she did to protect Hendrix. It was a hard situation no matter how you spun it, and all the while she also lost her little sister too. Lola had no other choice but to be tough. Neither her nor Hendrix had it easy during their separation.

She had this Harley Quinn vibe about her, and the Joker side of my personality thrived on it.

Lola and Hendrix were literally each other's better half's. She loved his insanity and chaos, adored his possessiveness for her and fed his jealousy when it suited her. Why? Because he did the same for her. Hendrix wasn't the only crazy one of the two, just perhaps the craziest. 🤣 They shared their crazy possessiveness and jealousy when it came to one another. Nothing rational about it. That's just the sort of love and bond they shared, and for them it was their normal.

I felt like a junkie, out of control and strung out, desperate for the high I could only find in him.

I loved them together. I loved some of the push and pull early on but like most things it became a little bit exhausting after a time. I think my biggest gripe about this book was not revealing the truth sooner. I expected it, but it never happened. While I understand why the authors decided to play it the way they did it was still a little frustrating because I just wanted the air cleared between them so bad. I hated seeing them hurting.

You could fight enemies, even friends, but it was impossible to fight someone you loved, and he wasn’t just someone. He was the one.

I did understand why Lola did what she did though. I get it, and although Hendrix still did what he did to protect her the difference was that he might not have been as careful about it two years before if he'd known. So, for Lola I understood how that was a real fear for her and why she did what she did. Certainly didn't help the way her ex best friend turned on her and only made the situation worse when it all went down either.

Any other girl was Novocain—touching them, fucking them numbed the pain. But Lola, she was an amphetamine. One hit of her, and I felt everything.

But I really just loved that Hendrix got his girl. Because Lola really was his soulmate. I doubt anyone else could have handled his crazy ass.

She may have fucked up. But so had I. And at the end of the day, that girl’s smile and her love made me feel like the richest man in the whole damn world.

The epilogue was also so, so cute and honestly went exactly how I expected for Lola and Hendrix. Of course he'd be living his best life as a father. Only he who creates and thrives off chaos would be completely content with it by having a buch of little mini me's running around. I love that for them.

Her forehead touched mine, a shaky breath touching my lips. “I love you, Hendrix.”

I took an uneven breath, fighting emotions as I pressed my lips over hers, warm and soft and every-damn-thing I needed in life. Just her. Just us like this.

“I fucking love you, too.”

It took me forever to read this, just couldn’t get into it. The plot was all over the place and hard to keep me sucked in.

recensione a cura del blog "Libri Magnetici" by Anna R.

«Stavi guardando, vero?»

Hendrix Hunt is a guy who has trouble staying out of trouble. He was raised on the wrong side of the tracks but is doing everything he can to have enough money to pay the bills while his brother is in jail. Yet nothing prepares him for the return of his ex-girlfriend, the one who obliterated his heart.

Lola Stevens had no choice when she was forced into foster care after an incident flipped her life upside down and forced her to tell a lie to the one person who meant more to her than anyone else. But now she is back in Dayton after aging out of foster care. Unfortunately she is only left with one friend, Kyle, after Hendrix turned everyone else against her.

Now Lola and Hendrix are passing by each other in the hallways at high school and while they each hate the other one, they also still haven’t gotten over the other and the jealousy is high.

Can Lola and Hendrix find away to put the past behind them or are the secrets they carry to much to burden the other with?

At the initial beginning of the book I wasn’t sure where this was headed but soon I felt myself immersed in the book and I didn’t want to put it down.

Hendrix was a tough guy who was someone that you definitely didn’t mess around with. He grew up in the poor area of town and had a bad reputation. He also closed himself off emotionally after getting burned by Lola and he really wanted to put her through the hell that he went through when she left and after he learned she cheated on him.

Lola had a secret that she had been keeping from everyone and although it pained her that her reputation was now awful, she did it to protect Hendrix. I felt terrible for her as she was lucky to be able to sleep on Kyle’s couch but she didn’t have anything anymore and none of it was her fault. I liked her tenacity though and how she still kept going, even through the worst of it.

When Lola’s living arrangements changed I was worried as I knew it couldn’t be good for her mental health yet at the same time I knew how she felt so I was hoping that this would be her chance to tell what happened but I knew she didn’t feel like she could trust Hendrix not to do something stupid.

I liked Lola’s friendship with Chad and how that allowed her to re-establish a relationship with her sister, Grace. Chad’s family treated Grace really well and I was happy that they never kept Grace away from Lola.

When Hendrix destroyed Sid I knew this would really change how Lola felt and it definitely made things different. It killed a part of Lola as she lost something that she clung to in her darkest days. When Hendrix read the letter everything changed and I was happy that he realized everything yet it destroyed a part of him for everything he had done to Lola.

The end made me really happy and I loved how they were legally able to change their lives around and make something of themselves!!- Rebecca

4 stars ⭐

I enjoyed this read, I enjoyed it more than the first one. Although this one was harder to read in ways. It was also a lot more toxic. The jealousy and possessiveness they both felt for each other was high, but at times understandable, especially for Lola.

Both of these characters had been through a lot, and there was much emotional pain and heartache on both sides. They were each other's person, until one traumatic event ruined everything. With both of them handling the pain in different ways.

I really liked Lola. I thought she was a great fmc. It was a little frustrating that she wouldn't tell Hendrix the truth but at the same time, I could understand. I mean, she was in a really tough position. I did like Hendrix too. I wasn't sure if I would because he seemed immature in the first one but I also liked his character at the same time. But I think getting into his head, and seeing how much he loved Lola, and always had was nice. I love it when you have a couple that have pretty much been in each other's lives most of their lives. There's generally that strong bond that never fully goes away.
I'm not always a fan of when there's a separation and the guy becomes a total manho, but here I wasn't as bothered by it. I mean, it wasn't particularly nice, but he had thought Lola had cheated on him and he was heartbroken. It doesn't excuse it and I actually wish Lola had held him more accountable for it, or that he'd apologised a bit more at the end for it. But we did see his thoughts throughout the book, and we see that he actually did feel shame for his behaviour in the two years prior.
It was very evident that he only wanted Lola from the start of the book, so I guess that made it easier. Although the thing I struggled to let go the most was the fact he slept with Jessica.

I do wish things had been a bit fleshed out towards the end. We literally waited all book for Hendrix to find out the truth and it wasn't even from Lola. The last few chapters Hendrix sees the letter, the next chapter Lola finds out the pos is dead and then we get the last chapter of them revealing their truths and talking a little bit about it. But even the conversation they had about it wasn't that deep I felt. Although it was obvious how Hendrix felt about it considering he killed the pos. Also, Jessica got nothing? Didn't she know the truth about what had happened, tell Hendrix Lola was pregnant, sleep with Hendrix only months later and then make snide comments to Lola about cheating on Hendrixand other derogatory comments when she went back to school? I mean, I'm not into huge acts of revenge but she deserved some kind of karma?

Overall I did enjoy the book though and the epilogue was so lovely to read. I'm glad they got their hea :)

No Romeo is the third book of the Dayton series and is centered on Hendrix and Lola. Lola has returned to Dayton after a two-year absence. She’s been in foster care as well as her little sister Gracie too. It was heartwarming to the two of them reunited, although Gracie was still in a foster home. Hendrix has been kind of a loose cannon since Lola left dealing with feelings of betrayal on her part. Little does he know the real reason for her departure!! Be ready for tons of angst and truly crazy bad boy stuff as well as tugs on your heartstrings too.

Lola has returned to Dayton ready to finish her last year of high school. Her goal is to get on with her life and hopefully get custody of Gracie, her younger sister. While she is far from achieving that, currently it’s the taking care of herself and getting through all the crap she has to put up with at school. Hendrix’s on the other hand, is so pissed at Lola for leaving that he has done everything in his power to wipe Lola out of his mind. Yet, upon her return he finds himself totally unable to let go of what they had that the possessiveness he still holds for her is hard to maintain. Needless to say, this only makes Hendrick more actively aggressive toward those folks who hurt or show an interest to Lola. Thank heavens for his good friend Wolf to keep him steady.

Yet the two of them could be really cruel and hurtful to each other too. Especially when Hendrix discovers that Lola is homeless and convinces her to move into his spare bedroom, which of course brings about many more issues for them. The regret that Hendrix feels from the many women he had been with while Lola was gone eats at him, she feels hurt. It’s also the mean girls and name calling that also causes Lola a lot of torment. Yet she just keeps putting one foot in front of the other and I am so happy she has her friend Kyle!! He was the one friend she knew she could depend on.

I loved how Hendrix was always looking out for Lola, even when she didn’t want it, but was also very protective of her too. And the pop-tart thing between them left me in stitches at times, who would have thought? There are many, many twist and turns in the book that have you on the edge of your seat, as well as some of the high school staff… Principle Brown, Mrs. Smith who will have you once again cracking up!

In spite of all the animosity held by both Hendrix and Lola, the hate-love vibe that oscillated between them, they were truly each other’s ride or die.
I certainly enjoyed No Romeo… through the good, the bad and the ugly!!

And I must mention how much I loved the Epilogue!!!

The Dayton High Box Set by SJ. Cole and LP. Lovell contains all three books in this series.
No Prince, No Good and No Romeo.

No Prince by Stevie J. Cole and L.P. Lovell is a enemies to lovers, na, intense read, told in a dual pov.
Meet Zepp and Monroe.
Both are living in a trailer park and have a rather rough life. While Zepp is the king of Dyton High, Monroe is everything but. And now she's become Zepp's kind of pa.
No Prince is raw and gritty and gave me all the feels.
I was in suspense from start il the end. I read the book in one siiting, I couldn't put it down.
A great read, 4,5 stars.

No Good by S. J. Cole and L.P. Lovell is a stand-alone and book two in the Dayton series. For best reading experience I recommend to read the books in order. The previous book is No Prince, Zepp and Monroe's story.
NG is Drew and Ballamy's story. Drew is a 17 year old, rich girl with . lets say special parents, her father is a piece of work, her mother is absent. She has to attend a new highschool in a neighboring town. And here reigns Bellamy and his merry men. B is the perfect anti-hero. Rude, bad language, you get the picture. And they clash from the first moment they meet. Raging hormones play a a major role in their daily lives. Reading NG is like looking at a car wreck on the other side of the highway. You know you shouldn't but you can't look away.
A story about the pains of growing up, well written, 4 stars.

No Romeo by SJ. Cole and LP. Lovell is book three in the series of stand alones.
Blurb:To everyone in Dayton, Hendrix Hunt was the tattooed bad boy, the bully, the player.

I'm a huge fan of boxed sets, what's not to love? you get the books of a series all in one set, you don't have to look for the next book when finished the previous one, it's just voila -- here it is.
I recommend the set, 5 stars.

Caratteristiche: second chance, NA romance
Stile narrativo: scorrevole, coinvolgente
Tipo di finale: chiuso, con epilogo
Voto: 5

What an amazing story this was!
It was emotional yet hilarious.
My heart broke so many times at different points in the book.
It was so hard getting a front row seat of the pain and suffering people can cause.
But the authors so brilliantly also wove in enough humor in as to not make the anguish so overwhelming.
I absolutely fell in love with Lola and Hendrix.
As individuals both are strong, determined and what so much for their lives.
But coming from poor backgrounds and having no parents makes life so much tougher for them.
One of the best qualities though is never giving up. So no matter what life throws at them they always meet it head on.
As a couple they are a dynamic duo. They have each other’s backs unequivocally and without question.
They are fierce with people when it comes to each other and would burn down earth without blinking an eye to right and wrong that was done to either one of them.
Lola is one of the strongest characters I’ve come across. Because she is still so young and has gone through so much at such a young age.
I loved her loyalty and her attitude. This girl gives as good as she gets and makes zero apologies.
Hendrix is perfect just the way he is. With his dirty mouth, fast fists and his cocky confidence.
Yeah he’s a bit of a bully and does some unquestionably antics at school but all for a reason.
I adored that Hendrix and Lola were best friends since kindergarten.
That as they grew from grade to grade they knew they were each other’s person.
And year after year their love grew and blossomed.
Until that dreadful day two years ago destroyed everything that had.
There are some many things I loved throughout the book but I won’t say what so I don’t unintentionally give something away.
But I will say that their kind of love is a once in a lifetime thing.
I appreciated also that along with Lola and Hendrix’s story the friendships and comradery in the plot and storyline. These group of friends are your ride or die, they love unconditionally and by your side no matter the consequences.
An overall outstanding read that is a perfect blend of many different emotions and feels.
