USA Today Bestselling author Trixie Silvertale grew up reading an endless supply of Lilian Jackson Braun, Hardy Boys, and Nancy Drew novels. She loves the amateur sleuths in cozy mysteries and and obsesses about all things paranormal. Those two passions unite in her Mitzy Moon Mysteries, and she's thrilled to write them and share them with you.
Really enjoyed this short story. Mitzi has arrived at Pin Cherry Harbour to start a new live alongside the spirit of her grandmother, a unique cat and a series of unusual characters. She becomes involved in finding the artefacts of the coven leader, alongside her remains. Her spirit then decides she needs Mitzy’s help to leave her earthly resting place, but all is not as it seems.
I received a copy of this book from the author and though not required to post a review, I wanted to offer my honest, voluntary impression upon finishing it.
This book was part of a two book set released earlier but now is being rereleased separately.
Mitzy and Pyewacket are sent to Twiggy’s cabin on an island while the bookstore is being cleaned and while there find a box under the floorboards but it’s empty. Bringing it back her Ghost Grams confirms what the box is and what should have been inside as the box instead of a map because it belongs to the former high priestess of her coven before she disappeared. However, in the moonlight strange markings appear on the map and when Mitzy uncovers the remains of a body, Silas is asked to help in this quest which includes a ghost who has been imprisoned in a box besides the body she found earlier.
Now to appease the spirit seeking answers to who killed her, Mitzy and Silas investigate and later receive additional information from another source which could change their direction of the investigation completely.
I enjoyed this Halloween tale of a trapped spirit but why it was trapped is the mystery! I heartily recommend this book and its other Halloween story, Ghosts and Bad Toasts as books I think you’ll enjoy especially if you’ve loved the Mitzy Moon series as I have. You can add these two to your collection!
If you haven’t read that series, get these two books and see if you aren’t intrigued by Mitzy, Ghost Grams, Pyewacket, Silas and yes the hot sheriff Mitzy dreams about wanting him to be her boyfriend to make you read that series!
I can assure you that you’ll enjoy the experience!
So TRAGIC that most modern authors have such a Very Limited Vocabulary! They - for some unknown reason - abuse words that belong only to GOD viz. HOLY, JESUS, GOD, CHRIST. In this context, they also use horrific oxymorons. This is blasphemy and Will be severely punished in due course. Believe it!
I read this short story in a limited Halloween anthology. I was already in love with the series. I read it again when the author presented it in this form. It made me realize how much the characters have grown since book 1 through the latest book "Bridesmaids and Blades" which is book 19. WOW!
Misty goes out to Twiggy’s cabin and finds a box under the floorboards. It’s an old box that belonged to an old witch who disappeared. Inside is a map which leads to some skeletal remains. Will Mistzy solve the case. Very cute short story
A great short story in the Mitzy Moon series. It falls in between book 1 and 2. Mitzy has to have a trip away from home due to work at the being carried out at the book shop. Absolutely love her interactions with Sheriff too hot to handle.
Received as a gift from the authors newsletter, this fun story was set early in the Mitzi Moon series, and was very fun to read. Now i want a Caracal. But maybe i dont :-)
I loved being introduced to Mitzi Moon. Psychic extraordinaire. With her Ghost-ma and the other characters now in her life I expect the future stories will be a revelation.
Enjoyed reading this short story. Read this author many years ago and found that I enjoy her more now than I did back then. Recommend reading. Loved the twist at the ending.
