You need to read the previous book as there is a fair bit of carry over.
Logan is a member of a secret unit that works in the shadows supporting the U.K. Government. Still after an apparently untouchable corrupt official, Logan is distracted by a mysterious female who he connected with but then vanishes. Throw in some mysterious assassins, a weird nursing home and a number of agendas.
The author’s expertise is that of surveillance within the security services and this continues to show but this felt like too many plots were crammed in and they don’t quite connect property.
Quite readable but too many moments of incredulity.

Matt Logan is a secret agent who is grieving for his dead wife and child.

Logan is in a case where three intelligent agents were killed. He has also saved a woman when she tried to kill herself.

The story make Logan very human. He is a person who has nothing to prove, but a job to do. He has also fallen in love with the woman he saved.

He now have two active cases. One, he derived a plan to find out who take out contracts for killing three agents. He contacted an old friend and got a name. He then proceeded with the plan to pay for a hit.

On Lucy front, he needs to find out more.

The story sounds real because Logan is not superhero type. It got a more down to Earth feels to the story.

I hadn’t read the previous 2 books in this series but apparently this was ok to be read as a standalone.
Unfortunately not the best tbh, story line and characters not too plausible.

Not on the same level as the previous two!

I’m a big fan of Tom Marcus’s work to date however this one was hard work. The beginning was incredibly slow with two much stuff going on for my liking. I kept going because I want to enjoy the series this is likely to turn into however it didn’t get going until halfway. The second half of the book was to the authors normal style and returned that feeling of not being able to put the book down. The ending was poor but the doors wide open.

I am in such awe of this author.... I feel compelled to begin with the author's bio excerpt (in case anyone has missed it... it is THAT IMPRESSIVE)!!!

HOW IMPRESSIVE IS THAT???????
It makes me so humble to know there are dedicated people out there to look out for us all!
I for one absolutely love it when these amazing, exceptional individuals decide to write books to make them available for us to read. This is book 3 of the Matt Logan series which compelled me to order book 1 and 2 and to flag this new found author as to most certainly follow from now on.
This is an amazing series, written by an exceptional human being and I for one wish him all the best and cannot wait for more books from him...

Welcome to gangland London, Matt Logan and team are back. Beware it will help if you have read the other 2 in the series. If you don’t it won’t be very enjoyable. If you have it will be somewhat of a convoluted jumble of ideas that in isolation are strong but together don’t seem to quite gel.

Marcus uses his heavy MI5 background to good use and there is care and attention in the detail and the craft. However, there is a lot to be desired for this thriller to really click. This gang warfare feels more like a slight tiff rather than a full blown conflict I was hoping for.

This book follows on from the previous book Which I have read but can easily be read as a stand alone book.
The pace and twists of the story build even better than previously and kept me engrossed from start to finish.
This is one of the rare books you can't wait to finish to find out what happens next and you don't want to finish because that means the story has ended.

An easy reading book, but some bizarre subplots which detract from the main plot. Clear he's setting up for a 4th book.

In the previous book, there was a fanatical jihadi doctor - in this book, his story is reduced to getting killed in a car chase, after randomly getting in the midst of the teams surveillance on a main character.
Bizarre inclusion that became no more than a page's worth of story, but had been set up to be bigger in the previous book.

All round an odd book.

An excellent third novel from former MI5 operative. Once again we follow Logan and the team on another operation. Excellent cast of characters well plotted plenty of action. Gets better with each book, one of the authors I look forward to each release.
I received this book from Pan MacMillan and Netgalley for a review.

There is not much to recommend about this book. There seem to be at least two distinct plotlines with no clear indication of the objective of the story. Profanity in the limited dialogue only adds to the annoyance that reading this book generated. I will keep an eye out to avoid any other books by this author.

This is the third book in the series and is a good read but the first is the best in my opinion. You need to read the previous book as there is a fair bit of repitition. Also but the ending was disappointing, seemed too hurried and left various questions probably for a fourth book(no spoilers). So if you like mr logan and i di go out and BUY the book ENJOY.

I’ve loved all of Tom Marcus’ books so far and I couldn’t wait to get this one, but I think the bubble has burst. Storylines that have been crafted over several books got quickly closed down which made me feel a bit cheated, and the main character lost his direction a bit. I hope inspiration strikes again for his next one.
