Curl up with a comfy blanket and a great read! Enjoy the first three books in the charming Marigold Island series by Fiona Baker.

Lydia Walker and Angela Collins both need a fresh start.

A year ago, Lydia became a widow at thirty-eight when she lost her beloved husband to cancer, and despite the support of her friends and her teenage daughter, Holly, she’s had a hard time moving on from the loss. She feels stuck, uncertain of how to carry out her husband’s final wish that she do something that scares her.

Angela Collins has what seems like the perfect life—a beautiful little boy, a loving husband, and a good career. But that all comes crumbling down when she returns home early one afternoon and discovers that her husband is having an affair.

Struggling with grief and loss, both women head to Marigold Island, an idyllic small town with white sand beaches and happy childhood memories.

A chance meeting between the two old friends sparks an idea that’s as exciting as it is terrifying. They decide to buy the historic Beachside Inn, renovate it, and re-open it.

Along the way, they’ll encounter a cranky landscaper who may have a soft side hidden beneath his gruff exterior, plumbing mishaps, old acquaintances, and unexpected competition from a big hotel.

Will Lydia and Angela get the second chance they’re hoping for? Or will their dreams of re-opening the Beachside Inn be dashed before they even get off the ground?

Come dip your toes in the crystal blue waters of Marigold Island, a fictional island town tucked in next to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. This heartwarming and uplifting women’s fiction will take you on a journey of healing, friendship, family, faith, and love.

Marigold Island Collection books 1-3 by Fiona Baker are a great Summer read. Located off the coast of MA, the descriptions take me right there with the author, enjoying the rolling ways and the quiet life of a small quaint town. Long lost friends find each other and take a leap of faith in restoring an old beach inn, with their friends and family there to support them. Loved all of Fiona’s descriptions – except for the wine labels. A great continuing story, but would love to have some of those bakery recipes!

Lots of characters at turning points in their lives find romance with other lost souls, though nobody gets married yet. Great setting of a fictional island between Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Lots of wine drinking with specific names. Lots of bakery items mentioned, but no recipes. I was disappointed at the end of the third book that one couple decided to live together without even a hint of getting married. Other than that, everything was clean and well behaved.

Wish I lived in Marigold Island.

What a great set of books and there are more out there.
So real to life...divorce, death, new business 's, and falling in love. Not necessarily in that order.
The women in this story are ones I could be friends with and wish I was. Dearly love Scratch....He is awesome.

Fiona Baker, thanks for the wonderful stories.

a sweet light read

This series set in a quiet island environment is a very sweet read. The pace at times felt slow, but I still found myself wanting to read what came next (acknowledging that the end game was obvious with a book of this nature!)
There are an awful lot of forehead kisses between the characters which made me grin.

Very nice series

I haven't read this author before but I like series. Great characters and story line. G rated romance, which is ok to mix in from time to time. I will be looking for the rest of the series.

A little slow moving... would love to read more of a HEA between Angela and Patrick or Lydia and Grant but it's a sweet series. It's a town that I would LOVE to visit.
