For a very short novella, Revenge on the Rocks packs a big wallop.

Gina Scott managed to escape an abusive marriage and has built up her self esteem, setting down roots in a new town and opening a tavern. She has also fallen in love with Nate Grayson, a man 12 years her junior, who also loves her. But Gina has a secret she hasn't told Nate, and when he starts talking a future, she balks. This gives an opportunity for the madman who is looking for revenge on her to step in. Can Nate rescue his woman-and convince her they can actually share a future?

This is actually the first book in a series and if its any indication, it should be good. The characters are likable, the sex steamy and adventurous, and the author manages to tell an entire story in just a few pages. The other Grayson brothers are intriguing, as is the sheriff, and this reader is looking forward to the rest of the series.

As usual, Jenna Jacob pens a couple of likeable, multilayered characters and weaves them into a sultry sizzling romance and then tosses in a bit of angst and danger just to shake things up. We, her readers, are the beneficiaries of her very creative imagination.

Nate, the virtuous Grayson brother, has been saving himself for marriage. What he didn't count on was the sexy, bat swinging, foul mouthed Gina Scott. Six months ago in the blink of an eye, Gina shut down the mean,vitriol spewing Victor La Croix. Nate watched and was a goner. They'd been going hot and heavy ever since. Nate wants forever...Gina, not so much. It takes a violent act to bring Gina to her senses and admit she loves Nate.

This is the third story in the "Cowboys of Haven". It is a small town romance about a much older jaded lady and a younger man out to prove that he is more than man enough for her. The story is fun, steamy and sweet with some emotional aspect and a horrible ex. I love the chemistry and interactions between Nate and Gina! Loved this one from beginning to end.

I'm a huge fan of Jenna Jacobs - in fact, she's one of my go to authors, the one that i'll automatically one click when my budget screams at me to buy a new book to add to my library, so of course, i know what to expect when i read her books. It'll be a story that for one reason or another, i will connect. Whether it's with the story or with the characters, but this author has this tendency to draw me in like no other.

Revenge on The Rocks is part of a new series that i haven't read in the past, so yes, i was entirely confused on who was who and whether or not it would have a link to any of the characters i've read from this author in the past. For that part, the fact that i've never read any of the books in the series in the past, i found worked against me. It was hard to really get a handle on the various characters and how they all fit in.

But i have to come out and say it: finally an older female and younger male story that fits! One that makes you see that age isn't and shouldn't be a factor on who makes you happy. And it's so rare that you find that the male character was a virgin when they first met their 'soul mate', the one that they want to spend their days with. That was the most fascinating part of this story - how this guy, who literally didn't know much, and came into his own to thoroughly dominate his woman in ways she never expected. I absolutely loved that!

While i had troubles connecting with this story, and know i'll have to go back and start this series from the start (when i have time, of course), i still enjoyed the story line, the suspense that came with it and the nuances that i found in Jenna Jacob's previous books that made me fall in love with her stories in the first place.

Everyone thought that Nate was saving himself for marriage, but nothing could be further from the truth. His mother had talked him into helping one of the local widow ladies with repairs around her place. She ended up seducing him and teaching him how to be a great lover. No one suspected this was happening. Most evenings he and his brothers would make it into Haven to the Hangover for beers and a game or two of pool where Nate had developed a thing for the owner, Gina Scott. Gina had moved to town about a decade before being very private with her past. As hard as Nate tried he could never get any information out of her about her past and she would not date anyone. Then one night the most hated man in town came in for a drink in a worse mood than usual. He caused enough trouble this time to get banned forever. The Sheriff thought it would be a good idea for Nate to spend the night with Gina. She was not happy about it as she was furiously independent. That night Nate and Gina learned that they both liked each other, but they were unsure to the level of the others feelings. That worked for a few days until that same guy decided to return to the bar. He had no respect for women, and before Nate could get to Gina to stop her, she had the guy laying on the floor out cold bleeding. Gina had no idea how much trouble she was in now. The Sheriff and Nate both knew she needed full time protection from this guy. Nate still knew nothing about her past. This was a slow build book to get you to the real meat of the story. You would only get a layer at a time. I would have liked more of why the Sheriff helped Gina in the very beginning so much. There had to be more of a story behind that for him. The author continued to point out the twin connection for Nate and Noble. The mystery and intrigue lasted throughout almost to the end of the book.

Gina has been a bartender/owner of the only bar in Haven Texas for ten years. Nate is one of the sons of the family that runs a therapy ranch for children/families. Nate and Gina click at the bar one night and things progress quickly. She has a haunted past and even a local nut case causes her problems. The sheriff, Jasper, is the only one who knows what happened to her and is a trusted friend. Trouble comes to her amid coming to terms with a new relationship possibility.
The characters are complex, with great backstories, determination and intense feelings. The storyline pieces together the life Gina/Tara has had and how Nate has brought her back to life with a future. Loved their chemistry and also the townspeople who invade their lives. His family is tight-knit and strong. The ending was perfect and I will definitely be rereading this story again.

This was a great read. I loved the characters story ARC and loved how they came together. I loved Nate and his whole personality and that Gina was turning herself into a kickass woman. There is trigger warnings for DV but the author has put those at the start of the section so you’re aware when they are coming, which I thought was great.

Gina and Nates book is a great quick read at has been updated from the hotties of Haven series now as the cowboys cougar. I am a fan of Jenna Jacob and she did not disappoint with this addition. There is sex, and intrigue and you don't know what will happen. I highly recommend this book and this author. The updated books in this series is great and i could not put it down even though i read it the first time the second time was even better.

This story here is very simply one of the best I have read this year!!! And well, on average I read about 4-7 pr week. The storyline was so good, it was also complex and took you around and around until the finale. The characters - oh my... They were described so well, overall just WOW. Fabulous five stars are the max I can give so just thank you for a great story.

You like small and to the point novellas? Well than this one’s for you!!!!
Welcome to the small town of Haven, where the Grayson brothers live. The hot, hot, hot Grayson brothers!!
Most books, not all, give us the stories of a older man and younger woman or couples the same age, with this one Jenna Jacobs gives us the story of Gina, a older woman, and Nate, a hotter, younger man and until recently a virgin.
Gina is awesome!! She is a tough, no nonsense bar owner who is fighting her feelings with Nate. She is bound and determined that this is only going to be a fling, no matter how much it hurts her heart.
Nate is totally in love with Gina, after all he did give her his virginity and she is a great person too, who cares that she is older than him. When Gina’s life is in danger Nate shows age is northing but a number and goes to saves her.
This is why Jacob is one of my favorite authors, Revenge On The Rocks is a novella, however so much is packed into it!!!
Family looking out for family, love, danger, and let’s not forget hot sex!!!! I am sooo glad that there are more single Grayson brothers, because I can’t wait to come back to visit Haven!!

In this book we meet Gina Scott & Nate Grayson. When this book opens we find that Nate is not quite the virgin everyone believes him to be. In fact he has been with one woman for quite awhile. The things is there is no love between them, he has his heart set on another. From the moment he first saw Gina he knew she had to be his, now he just has to convince her. Gina is on the run from her psychotic ex husband. She is unable to tell all her secrets though for fear that one day he might actually come and find her. The one person she wants to tell it all to if only to have him in the end is Nate. Her fears keep her trapped though and she is constantly telling him he is to young for her. What happens when their feelings become more than either can contain? Will it be HEA or the end of the road?

Another hit out of the park by this author. These characters will take you on a roller-coaster ride you won't want off of. This does had come domestic violence in it so please be aware. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

'The Cowboy's Cougar' by Jenna Jacob is the third book in her Cowboys of Haven series and tells the story of Gina Scott, who owns a bar in Haven, and Nate Grayson, a cowboy who has wanted a closer friendship with Gina for years. Gina had moved to Haven to get away from an abusive relationship, she changed her name and stays under the radar. She knows that Nate is attracted to her and she finds him quite attractive as well but she doesn't trust easily plus he is younger than her. When Gina gets threatened from her past life Nate is there to help her and keep her safe. Will she finally allow him to be more than just a protector?

Ms. Jacob has written an engaging addition to her series. The interactions between Gina and Nate are sweet and steamy. This story has drama, trust issues, suspense, action, laughs, and plenty of heat. I loved how patient Nate was with Gina, he showed such determination while not overwhelming her. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who likes a bit of drama with their romance. I can not wait for the next one.

I read this story when it came out several years ago under a different title. Man oh man, Ms. Jacob has upped the hotness with more words and that just made the story so much better. It's hard to find a good story with an older woman and a younger man, but this one fits the bill perfectly. Nate has had his eye on Gina, the owner of the bar, for awhile now. Her past still haunts her and she's determined to not get involved with anyone again. Being hurt in the past has made her weary of relationships with men. Jasper is the sheriff and he knows her story and he knows she is interested in Nate, so he tries to get them together by telling Nate to stay with her overnight after a drunk customer targets her. Can Nate get Gina to trust him? And what happens when her past comes back to collect? This was such a good story. I loved it even though I wanted to smack his brother, Noble! LOL Can't wait to read Noble's story. That's gonna be a good one!

Gina and Nate's story is heart wrenching, dramatic filled with so much love but also tragedy. For the last 10 years Gina has been hiding from her abusive husband in Haven. After being rescued by the town Sheriff Jasper, she has been running her business and eyeing and pining for the town virgin Nate. She would never had made a move, because she is older than him and the past she is hiding from until one night a client at her bar confronts her and tries to do her harm in front of everybody. Nate came in like a knight in shinning armor and took her heart with him. The attraction is mutual and together they are stronger until one night when everything turned bad and her past came calling. Nate will do everything in his power to save the girl! Will she finally put her past to rest and look at a bright future with Nate? Action packed, steamy great story that will leave you reeling and looking forward to the next brother falling in love. I volunteered to review this amazing story.

Having previously read this story when it was published as Revenge on the Rocks, I was once again delighted and in awe of Nate’s maturity and determination to capture Gina’s heart and be the man she could rely on to have her back, but not stifle her independence. The Cowboy's Cougar is packed with high emotion, self-doubt and a despicable ex who is hell bent on destroying Gina and her chances of happiness. I loved everything about this story with its easy ebb and flow and the entertaining and colourful dialogue too. Jenna Jacobs continues to write stories that grab hold of your heart and don’t let go, and this one is no exception.

Jenna Jacob is back with another book in the Cowboy’s of Haven series, and it is great. I couldn’t put this book down. Gina and Nate get their happily ever after in the Cowboy’s Cougar. Does age really matter if you are falling in love? That’s what Gina has to decide. She has overcome a lot of hurt and heartache in her past. Haven has been a safe place to hide from her old life. Gina and Nate have had feelings for each other for a long time. Their chemistry is explosive, and their story is steamy. Protecting Gina opens a door for Nate to deepen their relationship. Can it survive all of the danger surrounding Gina? The Graysons are a protective group, and they can handle it. I can’t wait due the next book!!

Omg where do I start with this fantastic story? Gina Scott has a secret , aka Tara Chamberlain bartender at hangover was married to an abusive man aka Dective Bennett Chamberlain who used his power to beat and abuse his wife but when she has enough she finds herself with Sheriff jasper helping her out but when her feelings for Nate can't be controlled will she give into them? Nate Grayson towns virgin has a secret but he has been fighting his feelings for Gina for a few years but will Gina use his age as why it's not a good idea to be together or will her past come back to finish the job? This book was so good and you felt the characters emotions and felt their pain. Jenna knocked this book out of the ball park.

When a drunk customer makes threats against Gina, Jasper suggests that it would be wise for Nate to stay with Gina for protection. This was a hot story featuring Nate Grayson and Gina. Nate doesn't care that Gina is 12 years older than him, he wants forever with her. Gina doesn't do relationships after getting out of an abusive marriage. She's happy running her bar. Even though Nate and Gina start an affair, she doesn't believe anything will come of it. What will it take for Nate to prove that he loves Gina and wants her in his life forever? This is a book you really need to get. I love all of Ms. Jacob's books and this one is awesome!!

This is a new author for me and I have enjoyed reading this story. The characters felt real and I felt a connection to them. The story unfolded well and had ups, downs, connections, chemistry, passion, secrets, lies, pasts, fears, hope, family, friends, strength, romance and lots of love. I would have liked to have found out why Jasper did what he did and I really would have liked to have seen Gina at Nate's family dinner. The ending made me smile.

As always Jenna never disappoints. Gina & Nate have a turbulent relationship. We usually see the heroine as the virgin who falls for the hero first. This time we see Nate in that position. It's refreshing to see that twist. While this is a short novella we get a lot of insight to their relationship. Their ups & downs are not over I fear they still have a hard row to hoe. But I know their love will prevail.

*spoilers* Gina tries to resist the young cowboy Nate. Nate is really mature for his age. He defends Gina and stays with her when a customer in her bar gets out of hand. When they are more or less forced to spend time with each other the more they both fall and can not resist the pull.
Well developed story and characters. Romantic but not corny, I really enjoyed this book and want to read more.

This is a well written age gap romance between Gina and Nate. The author brings strong characters with a hot chemistry. She brings all the feels in this emotional story. She pulled me in and had me hooked from start to finish with her detailed and descriptive writing and delivers a fantastic story. Loved and recommend.

I loved this tale. She had such a horrible past and that meant she did not have an easy time, constantly fearful. He was known for one thing in town, which turned out to be false. They both wanted the other, but wouldn't admit to it. The way he tried to help her, sometimes even without her knowing about it, was lovely, and the one time he turned his back on her, it almost ended in disaster, but thankfully we had a happily ever after, and even a massive surprise :)
