EXCERPT: Mystic Oak is named after a gigantic oak tree. The tree is the town landmark. The most mysterious and beautiful spot in our National Park. The tree is also considered a wishing tree nationwide, and every year thousands of tourists flock to Mystic Oak for sightseeing and hanging their wishes on the tree in the form of ribbons, especially young sweethearts.

MY THOUGHTS: #Rejected Goddesses is a light-hearted, cute romance featuring two BFFs who return to their home town after their lives in the city take a turn for the worse. They both have aspirations, but both would settle for finding Mr Right and living HEA. But life is rarely that simple.

Robyn and Cat are always there for each other, and it's their loyalty to one another that lost them their jobs in the city. I love their friendship.

I really wanted to love this book and began reading with high hopes after reading the profiles of the two main characters. And mostly it is a good read. Predictable. But good.

There is one part about texting early in the book that should be funny (many people found it so) but I could see what was happening, and that took the shine off it for me.

I know nothing about the authors, Natalie Watson and Nina Holmes, but either English is not their first language or this book has lost something in the translation. There are just so many errors! The one I enjoyed the most was: 'I lift my brow and thread my fingers through his head.' That I would like to see!

This is a very sweet and quick read.

When I started seeing #Rejected Goddesses by Natalie Watson and Nina Holmes on my Bookstagram account I was dying to read it, so when the authors kindly reached out and asked me if I wanted a copy, of course, I said yes! I was so enthralled by this short novella and I loved the humor, banter, and steam more than you can imagine. The book alternates between both Robyn and Catarina's (Cat) viewpoints, and I loved that each of them got a romance plotline making this a fun romcom with heart. Not only is there the romance aspect for each, but they are also dealing with other personal things as well and it gave them even more depth. I didn't laugh out loud too much, but I definitely did a whole lot of giggling, and there were a couple of moments I couldn't help but get a little teary as well.

Robyn and Cat made for such wonderful characters and I loved both of their POV's an equal amount. I honestly wish this would have been a full novel since I could have done with even more of this duo's writing and these characters. Maybe there will be a series of novellas about these two?? I would certainly take anything else I can get. Since it is a novella it is a really quick read, but I found myself wanting to savor it as well so I didn't read it as quickly as I might have under other circumstances. The only thing that was weird for me is that they would alternate between one character's first and last name, so it got a little confusing at first trying to figure out who they were talking about. Once I caught onto what was going on though I was fine. I don't want to say too much about it because I feel like #Rejected Goddesses is a lovely book to go into blind, but if you are in the mood for something sweet, funny, and a little steamy you should definitely check it out!

Thank you to the authors for my complimentary digital copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

#Rejected Goddesses was a nice, entertaining read.
I was invested in these characters adventures from start to end. Even if this was a short story everything was egregiously tied up in the end.

I've really enjoyed to read Robyn and Cat messy and hectic lives, they were for the most relatable and always so funny.
The authors delivered a perfect mash up of hilarious comedy and swoonworthy moments.

“Every woman is a rejected goddess at some point in her life … but it’s okay to be rejected as long as you feel like a Goddess.”

I recommend to read this book because once you start it you won't be able to put it down.

I’m so thankful to the authors for gifting me an advanced copy of #Rejected Goddesses, a charming contemporary rom-com. The story focuses on Robyn Ryan and Cat Romano, two best friends, as they deal with work, family, and relationship challenges. Robyn has inherited her grandmother’s bakery and is trying to stay afloat when she meets the new Brad Pitt lookalike veterinarian. Cat is trying to prove worth at work while fighting her growing feelings for her boss. Both women are relatable and funny, and I found myself invested in both of their stories.

Robyn and Cat have such a lovely friendship, and their relationship is one of my favorite parts of the novella. They are both strong, smart women who are tremendously supportive of one another, and I loved their individual stories, as well as the story of their long-time friendship. They have been through so much together, including relationship problems, harassment at work, starting over, and more, and their stories are so relatable. They are best friend goals, for sure.

I like that the story has two female protagonists who are so strong and fierce. They are women who have faced difficult challenges, and they don’t back down from doing what is right. They fight for each other and themselves, and they know their worth. There are some really interesting messages about workplace harassment, gender inequality, and standing up for what (and who) you believe in.

Of course, one of my other favorite parts of the story is the romance, and this novella has two! I enjoyed both love stories, though I felt more drawn to Cat’s. They have so many funny and embarrassing moments, and their chemistry is fantastic. Robyn’s love story is sweet too, and I love that they share a past. The secondary characters are fantastic too, especially Cat’s brother and grandmother and Robyn’s sweet dog. Cat’s brother and grandmother are hysterical, and their over-the-top meddling is equally cringe-worthy and funny. Other characters become obstacles in Cat and Robyn’s happily-ever-after, and it’s interesting to see how they deal with these outside influences in their new, blossoming relationships.

#Rejected Goddesses is a quick and fun read with great characters and two unique love stories. It reminded me of a Hallmark holiday movie with its witty dialogue, strong relationships, and quirky characters. Plus, the love stories are wonderful!!

#Rejected Godessess is a fun, contemporary rom-com novel which was a truly sweet read!
Robyn and Cat are best friends and are both searching for love and happiness in their lives. The book follows both friends through work life to romantic life and both face challenges and struggles.
I loved the puppy Darcy who was such a fun animal character in the book. I could do with a Darcy in my own life!
So many characters in this book were beautifully written into the story and I adored them all. I especially loved the group chat error in the story! It gave me such a giggle!
I can't wait to see what the two authors Nina and Natalie whip up next!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

I’ll be honest, I don’t read this genre too often. After devouring #Rejected Goddesses by Natalie Watson & Nina Holmes, I think I need to pick up my Rom Com game.

This book was the cutest, sweetest read. I loved it and read it in one sitting.

The story follows two besties, Robyn and Cat through their search for happiness and love. They couldn’t be more different and it’s a fun ride as they both struggle with careers and men. Throw in an adorable pup and a massive group chat mistake and you get some complicated, heartwarming and hilarious antics.

Everyone can and will relate to these two besties and their shenanigans for sure. I highly recommend checking this one out. It comes out in December and you can pre-order it now. If you like Rom Coms this should be on your radar! 🙌

Thanks to the authors for my early copy. I was so pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it! ❤️

Read this in one sitting and absolutely loved it. Some quirky characters and I love the two women and their friendship. Cheeky, perfect escapism read. Felt completely immersed into that world and was left definitely wanting more, even though the ending was a triumph. Delightful.

I didn’t know what to expect when the authors approached me and asked if I’d read and review their book, #Rejected Goddesses. From what I can gather, they are relatively unknown authors and therefore I was somewhat surprised when Cat and Robyn, the two protagonists, tugged at my heartstrings from the outset.

I loved this novella. From beginning to end, I was dragged into Cat and Robyn’s worlds, and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough! Each of them is looking for love, even if they try to pretend that they’re not in the slightest bit bothered! Cat is a Personal Assistant to a seemingly tyrant of a business manager and Robyn has taken over the reins of her grandmother’s bakery, left to her when she passed away.

We journey along with them both, as they each edge forwards in their work and personal lives, meeting new, many lovable characters along the way. I was particularly taken with Darcy, Robyn’s rescue dog, who won’t let anyone hurt her new owner.

I laughed, cringed, and swore as I read on, sometimes not believing the actions of some characters and how they dealt with things. There was a very definite element of humour, which only added to my enjoyment of the book.

If you enjoy a contemporary romance novel, put this on your Christmas list. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I hope Natalie and Nina continue their writings. There is definitely up-and-coming talent there.

Happy Publication Day!

I really enjoyed this romcom novella about two best friends, Robyn and Cat, who had to move back to their small hometown and start over after they both unfairly lost their jobs in Boston. It was fun following them on the journey with their new careers and to finding love.

There was a chapter on the train in the beginning that had me cracking up. I was immediately hooked and invested in Cat and Robyn’s stories. I loved the small town of Mystic Oak and how everyone was connected somehow. There were some great secondary characters in this short story. In particular, Jacques, the chef at Robyn’s bakery, and her dog Darcy. I also loved Cat’s Nonna and her brother, Tonio.

Even though this is a novella, the authors did a nice job of developing the main characters. I loved their strong relationship and how they had each other’s backs throughout the book. Hopefully we’ll get to see more of them in the future. This was a cute debut, and I look forward to reading more from Natalie and Nina in the future!

Thank you to the authors for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Rejected Goddesses was a great book to kick off my holiday read. It was an adorable, fun, and easy read.

Cat and Robyn are best friends trying to find their footing in their career and personal life. They are quirky characters and each have unique and complex personalities and demons. Cat is fighting to fix her reputation that she is trying to escape from of a workplace sexual harassment. Robyn, inherited a bakery from her grandmother and trying everything she can to keep the doors open but has no knowledge of the baking world. The two are flawed but they all work together well to support each other to succeed. Oh, and the male characters are lovely too

I loved the way everything was handled in this book.

This is a fast read where you can just read and let the story take you where it takes you. Would recommend putting this on your TBR.

Robyn and Cat are two best friends who live in a small town and I love their quick back story to start off which was their bio on their blog that only their family followed.

Robyn is a struggling Baker trying to recreate her grandmothers success with the same shop and recipes.

Cat is back in town after a situation at her former employer resulting in both Robyn and Cat losing their jobs. Cat's new job has a change in management to the bosses son who is quite hunky.

I just could not stop reading this and wanted it to keep going!! They were non-stop with their quick wit and were always getting into something.

The character development and story development was great considering this was a novella. I just loved Cat's Italian family and their connections.

It was the text conversation for me! 😂

Robyn, a journalist turned business owner, and Catarina (“Cat”), a personal assistant and author, couldn’t be more different, but they will always be besties through thick and thin!

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this delightful novella! Robyn and Cat were both extremely likable, intelligent, and strong women. I adored their friendship, and there were so many humorous and heartwarming moments! The side characters were fantastic, but Robyn’s adorable sidekick, Darcy, was my absolute favorite! There was also a lovely bakery (owned by Robyn!), a hunky veterinarian, and a super fun holiday party in the charming small town of Mystic Oak! I loved the story behind the town’s landmark, and I wish I could visit their park because it sounded magical, especially at Christmas time! Although there were some heavy topics, this was a feel good read that put me in a wonderful mood!

You should definitely go grab a copy of #Rejected Goddesses if you’re a rom-com fan or if you’re looking for an adorable, fun, and uplifting story!

Cat and Robyn are thirty-something best friends, trying to find their way in careers and love. The two tried their luck in the big city, and now they are back home in small-town Mystic Oak, MA. Cat is an author of a "worst seller" and Robyn inherited her grandmother's bakery, and it seems to be failing. Can these two get it together & find love?

This was a fun read! I felt like I was the third bestie in the group & I had been away for a bit and the two were filling me in on everything I missed. I loved the fiercely supportive friendship between Cat and Robyn. Against all odds, the two stuck up for the other. And their families were an added bonus. Robyn's dog might have been my favorite character! 🐾♥️ The banter between the girls and their love interests was fun and flirty. I laughed out loud at some of their antics. If you're a romcom fan, check this one out! You can read it in one sitting (who doesn't love that?!).

The story
Cat is a third generation Italian, who has recently moved back to her hometown. Her boss recently retired and his son has taken over. Demoted from her marketing position to PA, Richard is certainly not Cat’s favorite person. Thankfully, Cat’s best friend Robyn has also moved back to her hometown. Fired from her journalist job, she is running her Irish grandmother’s bakery and living in her apartment over the bakery with her rescue pooch Darcy.

My thoughts
I enjoyed the dual POV of Cat and Robyn and how close they are to each other. They get up to some crazy antics and embarrassing situations but are always there for each other. This novella is very fast paced and there is a lot going on. There were parts I thought could have been fleshed out more, but then I suppose it wouldn’t be a novella. I adore the houses on the cover of this book! Thank you Natalie and Nina for sharing your story with me!

When two long time friends find that they are falling for different men they will obviously provide support to each other but with their working lives and love lives taking on a rollercoaster like journey can they both find their happily ever afters? This is a really well written story that is both funny and yet has the twists and turns you'd expect from something portraying what it is like to look for love. The story is told from both characters different sides of things and manages to not get confusing or feel like it is fractured in how it flows thanks to the authors making sure that they focus on the one character at a time when they are writing in this way.

Overall this is a really strong book that has some excellent delivery to a story that I truly believe works well and is a great read.

I love a good Romantic Comedy. Who doesn’t? #Rejected Goddesses is a quick, light, quirky and funny read. It doesn’t have a cliché storyline oftentimes present in Rom Coms. The plot is realistic and charming in its simplicity, but layered with a deeper meaning, subtly and humorously delivered through the narrative; never detach yourself from your roots.
The characters are colorful and relatable. The way they find themselves in one fix after another is just hilarious. When I wasn’t laughing I was smiling. The dialogues and banter are the best parts of the book, incredibly refreshing.
It’s an awesome short read that comes highly recommended for fans of Romantic Comedy.

Two best friends. One horrible, unfair moment that upended their lives. With no choice but to return home, they begin the process of starting over.

Two best friends. One journey, with parallel paths, as taking chances and finding love has turned their hearts around. Life has new, stronger meaning and they are ready to tackle it head-on.

What a fun, light-hearted read. I was laughing right away with this one and absolutely LOVE the friendship between Robyn & Cat. Throw in a little romance, and this makes for a perfect holiday read. Go snag this one when it releases on December 17 (or pre-order now), then kick back and enjoy the feels.

I was asked to read and review this book and I am so glad that I said yes! I was hooked from the beginning.

The writing style was light, humorous and set out in an interesting way.

Each chapter told a chunk of one storyline before going to the next one, which meant that you could easily follow the two friend's storylines and thoughts without feeling overwhelmed.

I loved both the characters and the way that their actions and thoughts were displayed really got you involved in their stories.

The village setting of the book was lovely and really emphasised the messages of love, family and friendship.

I highly recommend reading this book especially if you are a fan of chick lit/romance.

I’m a massive fan of a holiday romance and #Rejected Goddesses is cute, fast-paced, and a pure joy to read. I just loved it. The story revolves around two best friends with work and relationship problems. They are compelled to return to their hometown to redefine their goals. That hometown had me laugh to tears, but no spoilers here…. Cat and Robyn are relatable and extremely likable. The dog and the secondary characters are adorable, but the Italian grandma and Cat’s twin brother, hands down, were my favorites. The book is full of laugh-out-loud funny moments (shoot me with a Glock, and the vet Brad Pitt, for one) and I loved the cultural references the authors sprinkled the dialogues and narrative with here and there. It’s a surprisingly full-bodied read for such a short story, and has quirky, humorous, sassy and lively dialogues. Would love to see it made into a movie.

This is a cute and fun romcom about the adventures of 2 childhood friends as they tried to reestablish themselves back in their hometown and perhaps discover their perfect romantic partners 😍

Cozy and family-centric, it makes me wish that I grew up with such a close knit community. Of course it's best to have that one BFF to get through life's ups and downs with. Having a mafia/mob-ish brother doesn't hurt either! 🤣

Rejected Goddesses is out on 17 December. I really enjoyed reading it. If you like something funny, light and quick to read, do check this out.

#Rejected Goddesses introduces the reader to best friends, Robyn Ryan and Catarina Romano, and their rollercoaster lives. Both women begin the novel stuck in a rut; Robyn with a failing bakery and Cat, an unsuccessful writer who has recently been demoted in her day job. And just don’t mention their love lives…

Confession time; rom-com is not normally a genre I read but I really enjoyed #Rejected Goddesses, it was a breath of fresh air; I read it in one sitting curled up in the gloom of a January afternoon in London and found it thoroughly entertaining.

Following an introduction, the chapters switch between Cat and Robyn’s daily life. It’s a good tactic, keeping the narrative fresh, moving and the reader also gets a view of each woman from the other, adding dimension to both main characters and a touch of foreknowledge.

Occasionally, the women’s voices are a little similar although Robyn is the slightly more thoughtful and restrained out of the two. Their bond is clear from the beginning and there are enough differences in their backgrounds for comparative interest without making them obvious opposites.

Immediately you begin #Rejected Goddesses, you are transported into Cat and Robyn’s lives. It’s incredibly relatable with some funny moments, familiar moments, and moments we would all rather forget. It certainly taps into the cringe factor in a good way!

The novel has been cleverly pitched, not only have the Authors clearly had a lot of fun in writing #Rejected Goddesses, there has also been a lot of care in constructing and crafting the narrative. I especially liked the way that events in both women’s daily lives ran broadly parallel to each other albeit with a contrasting set of characters.

It’s not easy to maintain light, humorous prose and the story is deceptively well-structured to ensure it gives the reader what they want but with a few careful twists that remain entirely credible. Elements of the plot are reassuringly predictable without being superficially fluffy or ridiculous, and sometimes that is exactly what a reader requires.

Personally, it was a good move to ensure #Rejected Goddesses is not overlong, it maintains the brisk, engaging pace and enjoyable tone without becoming exhausting, although given the strong foundation laid with Cat and Robyn, I can see this being a series, and one that would definitely work.

#Rejected Goddesses is a well-written and delightfully fun slice of sweetly satisfying escapism. Highly recommended.

This has been a cute and easy read, I have devoured page after page and been completely unwilling to put this one down.

We are introduced to two strong female protagonists- I have loved both. Each are likeable and developed in a way you feel as though you know them.

The friendship between the two is a real strong aspect of this book for me. There are quirky moments, fun events and enough humour to keep you engaged in the book.

I adore the cover of this one, it instantly attracts attention and makes you want to read this one. My only complaint is that it’s not longer.

This is a great read and one I highly recommend.

This was a cute rom com that follows two best friends as they navigate life back in their hometown.
Robyn is a journalist turned baker trying to keep her bakery afloat.
Cat is a third generation Italian with a colorful personality, a overprotective brother, and an adorable meddling grandmother.
Both Robyn and Cat have their own challenges in their professional and personal lives, but this book has so many funny moments that had me giggling, some swoon worthy moments that had me 😍, and maybe my favorite character of all, Robyn’s dog, Darcy.🐶
.
Even though this is a short story it wraps up nicely. This would be a good one to add to your #tbr if you’re trying to meet your reading goal this year!

This is the perfect novella for RomCom readers! You have enemies to lovers, best friends living in a small town, humor, references to social media, saving a small business, and all during Christmas time. I enjoyed the relationship between the two best friends Robyn and Cat and how they balanced each other out. I enjoyed how both of them each got to shine in their own way including both going after the guys they like. One major thing I loved in this book is even though there was some miscommunication, the characters talked about it and acknowledged how the other person felt. I feel that’s missed in so many books so I truly appreciated that. If you’re looking for a quick, fun read, I highly recommend this!
