This was a difficult book, both to get through, and as a follow up to the trilogy that made up the last three volumes.

It felt like it was trying to be a moment of respite, but was in of itself stressful.

The reveal of De Vermis was definitely the highlight for me, and his defeat at the hands of Benetnasch with Amber Abyss was really awesome.

I’m going to be honest… I’m not here for Hugo, I’m here for Ray!
So head I skipped a whole day of reading because I couldn’t bring my self to read it. But I did finish it and it was good. I enjoyed meeting KOT.
But I’m so glad to be back to Ray.
