Club Royal #3

Grieving Royal

Rate this book
Despite being third in line to the throne, George doesn’t believe he will ever be king, and he is content with that knowledge. He prefers to live his life in the shadow of his brothers because he can hide his extra-curricular activities there. When his life is torn apart by grief, he loses himself in those shadows until he focuses on what matters to him. Love.

More media attention is the last thing Timothy wants. He left his hometown to get away from it, but his new position makes that almost impossible. Balancing the requirements of his teaching role, the needs of his new patient, and the feelings that should never have grown, he struggles to see the right course of action until the choice is taken away from him.

Stepping back inside the place where Eddie had been abused by the one person who should’ve taken care of him has been harder than he expected. Finding someone who is patient enough to help him through his anxieties about a BDSM relationship is easier. Unfortunately, royal duties threaten to pull them apart before they’ve even started.

As the three lives intertwine in the unlikeliest of situations, who will throw themselves into the deep end, and who will back away, scared of the repercussions?

This is an MMM book containing BDSM scenes and D/s dynamics in all forms. It also has lots of loving, friendships, family drama and, of course, a triple HEA.

Elouise East writes sweet and steamy connections in gay romance. She also touches on taboo stories under the name Elouise R East.

Books that tell the stories where friendship and family are the focal point - be it blood family or chosen - are very important to her. That’s why she includes a variety of personalities, talents, ages, situations and abilities as she believes a story or character needs. She wants her characters to be real, to be relatable, to be free to have whatever views they tell her they have. And trust her, most of the time, she does not have any say in the matter!

Her characters come to life on the page for her as well as her readers. Their stories unfold in front of her as she writes, and she has very little input into how they want to be shown. Just like real life, the lives of her characters change with every choice, every interaction and every conversation. And she wouldn’t have it any other way.

She writes books that are emotionally realistic, even if liberties are taken with other aspects of the stories. She doesn’t know any other way to write. It comes from deep inside.

Who is she? A single parent to two children living in the UK. An avid reader who still tries to devour every book she can get her hands on. A student of learning about any subject that takes her fancy. An author of books she would read herself. And a romantic at heart who loves anything cheesy.

Who’s joining her on her journey?

This book has so much emotion that I had to stop at times and gather myself together. The way all three characters are attracted is unique. Each character is so different from the other. Each character has strengths and weakness of their own and a need for that special someone’s to fill that. All three characters have had life experiences that have brought them to where they are. The way Prince George defines his personality as opposed to how others see him in interesting. The way the three, George, Eddie and Timothy fit together is unexpected. None of the three really have the same interest nor hobbies as the other. None of the three have the same lifestyle as the other. Their careers are in no way similar. I found the author’s ability to put all this together amazing. I really liked the secondary characters being a part of the ongoing story. They add to the overall of the events going on. I am anxious for the next story in the series.

3.5 stars. After I struggled through the first ten percent with all the different characters, I landed where I hoped I would. In Club Royal, where Eddie, the broken sub, approaches Master George and asked him for a scene.

First, there are some character introductions, you can feel something is going on, but nothing revealed, yet! Like Eddie, the barista, been through some rough time with a Dom, Timothy, a therapist, had to look out for a job far away from where he had one, out of the spotlight, and our Royal Prince George, with a lot of duties.

The scenes from George and Eddie are beautiful, delicate, and tentative. George is exactly what Eddie needs. George is also submissive how will this even work.

Then, a disaster happened. In the chaos George, Eddie and Timothy find each other.

“My dear boy, I’m so glad it wasn’t you.” Okay, that made me cry ugly, ugly tears.

What are the odds, George needs a therapist, Timothy is one and wants to help him. George needs more than that, he needs Eddie. Eddie wanted to keep himself together, not dive into all the feels with the first Dom who’s nice and caring, but the connection is too strong to let go.

It’s getting all more complicated when people get threatened.

The revealing was slow, I always have trouble with vague settings, where on the way information is given. I’m way too impatient for this, I understand, of course, it’s on purpose, but dang my nails didn’t survive!
At times the story was highly sensitive and sensual. I loved these moments. Even though I had some trouble with the instant romancing. It went a bit too fast.
There’s an amount of hurt in all three of their personal life, not so with each other. My dark heart wanted to be hurt between the three, that did not happen, they were solid. Their dynamic was well done.
While I didn’t always feel connected to or couldn’t feel parts of this story, it sure did something to me.
The story is from different views and angles, three is already much, five or six was a bit too, sorry to say, it took away the dynamic, I had to switch and switch.
Overall a nicely written m/m/m/ age-gap royalty story, slow-paced, for my pleasure a bit too soft, I expected something a bit more energetic.

Three men in emotional turmoil find love unexpectedly

This series was a complete revelation to me. Elouise has created a completely modern family who are real people as well as members of the Royal Family. They all want to find love but encounter different problems along the way, especially from members of their own families who are small-minded and nasty.
This book can be read on its own but there is a storyline that continues through the series (and it's such a good series) that you'd benefit from reading them all.
George in the first two books has always been the joker of the pack, keeping everyone laughing and keeping their spirits up, but there is so much more behind that jester persona and this time, we see what is hidden after he is utterly traumatised by a shocking tragedy.
Eddie has also appeared before and he has physical and mental scars from what happened then. He is sweet and kind and thoughtful, wearing his heart on his sleeve.
Timothy is introduced in this book, still suffering emotionally from a traumatic event that led to a lot of intrusive press attention which caused him to upend his life, move away and change career.
George and Eddie are already feeling very attached to each other when Timothy enters their lives and everything changes for the better for all of them. The love between them was so obvious and so perfect, even though it was very quick, but when you know, you know, and they all did from the very start.
Elouise continues to weave her magic with this extending family. Seeing multiple points of view makes the series even more enjoyable and the three brothers, their cousins and all their new partners continue to entrance me and keep me up long into the night when I should be asleep. I cannot recommend this series enough and although I seldom re-read anything, I will be bingeing the whole series in one go when it's complete because it has given me so much pleasure and I want a joined-up marathon of the Sutcliffe family.

This well-written series has a lot going for it, including mystery, intrigue, family, friends, royalty, red-hot romance, and big love. This is Prince George's story. George has begun healing work in Club Royal with Eddie, a submissive who was abused by a cruel dominant in a previous book in the series. After just a few sessions, they are side-tracked by an unexpected death. George needs Eddie for comfort and support. The two men meet a third man, Timothy, and the three men come together in a triad that completes each of them. As they figure out their relationship, danger and an intrusive media never seem far away. Can they overcome the obstacles to make their relationship more permanent and committed?

Grieving Royal is the third book in the Club Royal serie by Elouise East. This book is about George, Timothy and Eddie. George is third in line of the throne and he's content with probably never ending on the throne.

I really liked their story. It was sweet, sexy, full of feels and very well written.

I enjoyed this one even more than the last. I really loved how all 3 had troubled pasts and helped heal each other and how they each filled their missing pieces.

It was well written and had interesting plot from start to finish. It was sweet and a little sexy with some light kink. Also, a little sad and very heartwarming. It was kind of an all the feels type of book The Club Royal was a brilliant unique creation of the author. I found this low angst in the relationship dept but medium angst in general as not everyone wants a gay Prince and will try anything to get rid of him. I loved all three characters. They had instant sparks and great chemistry with some steamy scenes. I did find it a little instalove especially the declarations after only a week but I didn't mind too much. They were so meant for each other from the start. I absolutely would recommend this. The only thing I'm not totally into were the suttle reminders of our real royal family. I found my mind drifting to them a few times and I'm kind of sick of them. So I wish there wasn't so many suttle similarities there. That would be my only complaint in a otherwise perfect book. I'm looking forward to finding out what happens next as this was kind of a to be continued plot.

Fantastic read! This one gives us three instead of two main characters. We get an emotional story with the perfect amount of emotion and steam. I loved how well George, Timothy and Eddie fit together! Overall, a really fantastic read! The story was really well written, highly recommend. The story kept me engaged and I literally could not put it down. I’m voluntarily reviewing from an advanced copy that I received. My review is solely based on my thoughts and opinions.

I love meeting the royals in this series and this book was no different. I loved how the dynamic shifted with 3 MCs instead of 2 - the author approached it perfectly. The book is emotional, hot at time and heart wrenching at others. There's a lot of drama and it's not a sweet fluffy read, but the hot, the painful and the funny parts are very well balanced, which is not always easy!
The MCs were perfectly fit for each other and I appreciate how well their personalities were created and presented to the reader.
I enjoyed every book in this series so far, but this one is my absolute favorite!

MMM books are not easy to write and read because the intertwining of points of view, family relationships and friendships of each of the main characters and the different past and present experiences can make the plot extremely complex and difficult to follow.

In this case, the author decided to add the time factor by compressing the birth and development of the relationship between the three men and the revelation of their love for each other into a period of about a month, during which George also has to process his mother's murder and, together with Eddie and Timothy, has to cope with media pressure.

Let's not forget that this book is set in London and at Windsor Castle with protagonists from the English royal family; for those who, like me, follow the vicissitudes of the real English royal family, it will be impossible not to make comparisons and in this book in particular, seeing how the queen dies, the parallel with Lady D is inevitable.

This confusion between fact and fiction as well as the complexities of the plot mentioned above have in my opinion the effect of diminishing the emotional attraction between the three protagonists. Reading this book, I couldn't shake the doubt that they threw themselves headlong into a love affair without having first resolved and overcome deep personal traumas. The feeling is that the three are clinging to their partners in order not to sink into a sea of tears. The BDSM side is very soft; the private club feels more like a bar where the three MCs go to experience scenes they could easily have lived at home.

I have not yet read the first two books in this series and there are numerous references to facts and events that are probably explained in the previous books. So I would suggest reading the books in order, also considering that the plot of the family feud is a bit of a common thread linking the three chapters of this family saga that is destined to develop in the next books to be released.

I realize this review is particularly long by my standards. But it's just that I had high expectations for this book (I love MMM stories), but the execution disappointed me a bit. Will I be reading the other books? Yes, at this point the author still made me want to learn more about the queer members of the royal family. Would I recommend this book specifically? I don't know, probably yes but with quite a few caveats.

Prince George is third in line for the throne and so doesn't believe he will be the King which he is more than happy with. He prefers to be in the shadow of his brother because he can then hide his extracurricular activities. When his life is torn apart by grief, he loses himself in the shadows until he focuses on what matters - love. Timothy does not want more media attention as he left his hometown to get away from it to start with. Balancing his teaching requirements and the needs of his new patient he then has to also balance the feelings that should never have grown, but then the choice as to what is right is taken away from him. Going back into the place where Eddie had been abused by the person who should have taken care of him (his Dom) was much harder than he expected, but finding in George someone patient enough to help him through his anxiety about a BDSM relationship was great. However, royal duties threaten to pull them apart before they have really started. As their three lives intertwine, who will throw themselves into the deep end and who will back away scared of repercussions?

I adored this story with the three men who all needed to be cared for in their own way and how that care set them up for a deep and meaningful relationship which meant that they could all cope with what was affecting their lives either in the past, the present or even in the future. It was really special how they were able to talk and focus on what was important and what their needs were of each other. I was thrilled when they were able to make their choice and how their immediate family and friends were very supportive. Contains MMM sexual content as well as scenes of a BDSM nature.

💞 A book with all the feels.
A good start as Prince George helps his drunk brother Freddie out of the club away from spying eyes.
George 32 yrs is a secret submissive but played as a Dom at the Club Royal.
Timothy 40 years was new Windsor and wanted to make a new life away from his past.. Bad baggage with his new career as a teacher whilist working through his horrible past.
Eddie 20+ yrs was the barista but had recently learned he liked bondage again after a bad experience which was in book one..
A great intro for the characters and what would come next would hopefully find healing and comfort and love for all three.
Tragedy happens for George and Timothy is recalled back to his therapy occupation.
I loved how all three of them connected at their first meeting especially. The author weaves in an exciting part of Timothy that even Tim's caught of guard to the book.
This is a book that left me with warm fuzziness for the characters.
I'm loving this series and can't wait for the next book to release.

Another great installment in the series! George was usually the fun one. He’s just as compassionate as the rest of the family, too. He helped Eddie when he needed it- he was the only one Eddie trusted to do it. Then tragedy struck. His grief and guilt are profound. He needed help in a big way. Enter Timothy, an experienced therapist.
I love the dynamic of the Scandalous Six. They’re so supportive of each other! When something happens, they all show up. It’s really very heartwarming.
George, Eddie, and Timothy make a great triad. Watching them develop their relationship definitely has it’s more exciting moments!
I really am loving this series.

George was a royal who was happy with being away from the spot light.
Needing to find a connection, he could not deny sweet Eddie when he approaches him.
But life quickly changes and into their life comes Timothy.
Together the three of them begin to realise how much they need each other as they wade through the grief of the present, their past and the circumstances they have to face.

This was a story best read in order of the series as some points of the plot and characters do overlap. The bdsm aspect of this plot is more on the lighter side and the characters come together in a relatively low angst way. Overall, a good addition to the series.

Brilliant read. Need to read the series thought, not standalone.
Eddie has been hurt but wants to submit. George is asked to help him in club royal , and they start working together.
After George's mum dies his world comes crashing down. Nothing is getting George to come out of his room, so Eddie was asked to come see him. Just want George needed.
Timothy is asked to be George's therapist.
It all works out well but Timothy wants to stay in the shadows.
All three men have been hurt but have a connection.
A rollercoaster emotional ride, but so well written.

Grieving Royal by Elouise East was a well written book after Secretive Royal. This one has M/M/M trope which interwove three different guys thrown together after the assassination of the Queen of England in which one of the 3 guys is the son of, hence the title of this book. Beside the royal prince, the two other guys had traumatic experiences which helped them comfort the prince. Such a wonderful book to read. It may bring a tear or two when you read this like it did for me. Definitely a very good stand alone sequel to read after Secretive Royal.

George, Eddie, and Timothy are each interesting characters, and I liked how different they all were, as it made clear how much of their connection comes from a kind of emotional and physical compatibility that transcends the differences in their personalities and experiences. Together, they seem to overlap beautifully, and the depth of feeling that invokes, and the way they each contribute toward helping each other heal, makes for an emotional read.

Great story.

Loved this story. These three were fun to read about. A prince. A teacher and a barista. Entered a BDSM club. So I'm enjoying this series but kind of feel these men can't seem to get anywhere with what has been happening. I understand that it being dragged out for the story line but it just kind of make them all look, I don't want to say dumb but these men who seem above average intelligence and I would think have contacts who should be able to find at least something more than what they have. The story line seems to be drawing out to much.

Pieces of a jigsaw.

MMM, BDSM, D/s, Contemporary Romance. Easy to read page-turner with twists and turns and action throughout. Not a stand-alone read due to the story following on from each other very closely. Lots of angst, a tear jerker at times and very very steamy yet sweet. Great Characters I thoroughly enjoyed reading their story and look forward to reading the next installment in the series.

More interesting happenings and people in this series

The premise of this series, that this fictional English Royal family owns and visits a kink club, is absolutely ridiculous but in Elouise East’s writing hands it’s absolutely delicious fun. If you like mm(m) romance with hints of danger and excitement with quite a bit of kink added to it then you will probably enjoy this book and this series. Enjoy.

I've enjoyed the other books in this series but I think this is my favorite. I like to see how authors handle MMM relationships and I thought George, Timothy and Eddie had great backstories and were great together. Some mystery, nice light BDSM and a chance to see characters we've met in the previous books.
