USA Today Bestselling Author Krista Sandor writes steamy contemporary romance with toe-curlingly hot heroes and heroines you'll want as your best friends.
Oh, this author is a pro at writing men who you’d think are totally irredeemable, but then they prove everyone wrong. It’s usually only proven after they spectacularly ruin the day, but Soren is no exception. He’s a womanizing, immature, seemingly cruel waste of human flesh, but there are reasons for his coldness and methods to his lonely madness. And boy, has he met his match in Bridget. She’s not about to let a less-than-kind person ruin her sister’s dreams or day, so even with her own life in shambles around her, she’s up for the task of crafting miracles while maybe softening the ice around Soren’s heart.
This was the almost-off-the-rails comedy of disasters that I’ve come to love from the kind of Krista Sandor, so I was enthralled with the story and wondering how she could possibly top her clueless Bergen brothers. Trust me, she managed to do that in a hilarious manner. Soren needs some serious come-to-Santa moments to realize just how badly he’s let his life stray off course, while Bridget needs a reason to jump and take a risk. Combine these two and there’s a recipe for some of the most delicious mishaps possible! Between learning just how much “luck” went into changing Soren’s life path and how well Bridget’s grandmother knew both her and her sister, this was a funny, emotional, heartwarming tale of the funny ways some people find love.
The perfect book for the holiday season. Loved this enemies to lovers romance. Bridget and Soren were so good together. The chemistry between them was intense and I loved it. The banter between them was so much fun to watch. I had a smile the entire time I was reading this book. Love stories like this. This is the type of book that you pick up when you are having a bad day and need a pick me up. This book will do that for you. You won’t regret picking up this fun read.

She decided to head to her sisters wedding at the place where her parents married years before. The sisters are mega close and there relationship is wonderful. Bridget sacrificed a lot to bring up her sister and had to work twice as hard to make sure that she had everything that she needed, she's such a strong and beautiful woman that you cant help but love her. Soren is a sexy guy that is the grooms men and Lori thinks that he's there to cause trouble ans needs her sisters help. But can he help Bridget realize her dream?
The way that this author has written this story is fantastic and deserves every single star it has. I truly enjoyed reading it and they way that this story flows is great and the characters were amazing and the reader can really connect to them and be totally invested in each of there stories. This book has enemies to lovers, plenty of steaminess, plenty of laughs and of course, some holiday magic. It truly has something for everyone. Add a ton of amazing characters, some great chemistry and banter this story is a hit.
Bridget is such a likeable character, like any of Krista’s heroines. I love that she is selfless, she is caring, loving, strong and extremely supportive. Soren, well he is a grump, but you also can’t help but love him. He hasn’t always had it easy, but Bridget is perfect for helping him see there is more to life. I loved their chemistry and their passion.
If you’re looking for a laugh out loud Christmas romance with steam and great chemistry Not Your Average Vixen is a MUST READ!
Soren Rudolph. There's not a lot nice to say about him. When it comes to women he's a shallow, selfish player and user. Professionally, he buys companies and dismantles them at the first sign of falling profits without the bat of an eye or the slightest crack to his cold, dark heart. It's all about the bottom line. And the fact that his latest acquisition’s owners could stand in for Mr. and Mrs. Claus is irrelevant and doesn’t make the smallest dent in the rusty armor around his heart.
Our grouchy, cold-hearted hero makes the worst of old Ebenezer look all warm and fuzzy in comparison. But I have to cut him a considerable amount of slack, because a big part of him is that unloved little boy who feels like he's losing the only people who have ever mattered in his life. And once Bridget Dasher begins working her Christmas fairy magic on him, Soren falls harder and faster than Goliath.
Since she was eighteen, Bridget has put her own life on hold to raise her younger sister. Now Lori is getting married in the same place their parents wed, and Bridget will do everything in her power to see that Lori's dream wedding goes off without a hitch. Personal life aside, since she got dumped and fired all on the same day, Soren, the best man, seems to be doing his level best to stop the wedding.
Sandor has managed to set the bar impossibly high for contemporary romance with this amazing story. And she did the virtually impossible. She freakin' made me cry, dang it. No, she made me bawl! For the little baby neither parent could be bothered with. For the guiding hand and heart of strangers who irrevocably touched the boy's life, and for the glorious redemption, forgiveness and healing the grumpy, ruthless business man finally finds.
This may seem like a typical Christmas romance, but there is nothing at all typical or average in these pages. With a hero you want to hate but can’t because you see clear to the heart of him through Bridget’s eyes, and a heroine who is everything innately good with an inner beauty that glows, this spectacular read is in a class by itself. In my opinion, this funny, heartfelt, smoking hot book is Sandor’s best work yet and easily one of my top five reads for the year.
Not to cast aspersions on Dickens, but the only thing missing is a sweet, guileless youngster exclaiming “God bless us every one.” Oh, there's definitely a youngster, one with all kinds of other exclamations that are guaranteed to steal the scene. And Dickens never had this kind of gut-busting humor, electric, tear-each-other's-clothes-off chemistry, and more retired Santas than you can shake a candy cane at.
So make a cup of peppermint schnapps coco, grab your cozy blanket, and settle in for a funny, full of feels, fantastic treat. It's the perfect read to get you in the holiday spirit, and once you start reading, you won’t be able to put it down!
OMG I loved this book it just brighten my day and had me giggling something I needed.Bridget is headed to Colorado for her sister wedding and everything goes to crap just before she leaves. She is fired from her job and catches her boyfriend with another. Then she ends up getting snowed in at the airport. She decides to live outside of the box and have a one night stand when she meets Sorenson in the bar at the airport. They are pretty much kept it to a first name basis only.Only to find out later he is her future bother in laws best man and has been a pain in the butt. The two are pretty much at each other with the banter back and forth and ther is a incident with gummy bears that will have you laughing out loud. The sparks are ther and basically it's a love /hate thing that even they don't understand . Krista will keep you captivated with this from page one
I received an ARC for review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Bridget Dasher, aka Birdie, has been baking all her life. When her parents pass away, she became the legal guardian to her little sister. Having put aside all her hopes and dreams to take care of her sister, it is now her sister's wedding. Birdie didn’t think she would be going to this wedding jobless and single, but she is.
Soren Rudolph, aka Scooter, has spent several years buying up failing companies and selling them off. He bought out a bakery but hasn't yet disassembled it since Christmas is going on. Scooter now has to also deal with losing his best friend when or if he gets married. Hoping more than anything to try to stop this wedding, he didn’t plan to fall for the maid of honor, who is also the bride's sister.
This book was adorable and had some amusing comedic moments. Moments that I wish I were there to experience because I probably would have peed my pants off. I also fell in with the kids and the Christmas fairy tradition. Birdie was likable but annoyed me at times. Soren was Sore-in....he wasn’t enjoyable initially, but he comes around, and there are moments. Overall, this book was cute, light, and fluffy. I had to look up what a Croquembouche was!
A Christmas themed Romantic Comedy packed with hilarious shenanigans, broody cocky jerks, and a story like no other. I know I say this every time but here I am yet again saying it, this author knows how to knock stories out of the park and make us readers fall madly in love with her characters. This story follows Brigette aka Birdie who has worked so hard her whole life always putting others in front of herself and never once regretting it. She lives to help people, show kindness, and always be there fir her sister. Then we have Soren aka Scooter who is that typical playboy that is cocky and never wants to settle down. I fell hard for this man because my heart went out to him because he couldn’t see he was worthy of love and family he just couldn’t see it right away. When these are together their chemistry is off the charts, but where Birdie wants to make her sister’s wedding the best ever Soren is out to destroy it to show his buddy he doesn’t need to settle. Throw in a crazy Christmas town, Santa’s galore, some questionable gummy bears, and these two have their work cut out for them. This book had me laughing so hard one second and swooning so much the next and Soren has definitely stolen my heart.
This book was perfect. It had the usual Krista Sandor flair. It had a bit of suspense, tons of humor and puns and lots and lots of love! Soren and Bridget had amazing chemistry and this book was full of tension i laughed and I cried. I always love the broken hero’s so it’s no surprise I adored Soren. From a holiday hating Grinch to a Christmas loving Santa!! An amazing holiday read!!
Another amazing story by the amazing and talented Krista Sandor!!!
I just enjoy so much every story by Krista and this book was everything I was looking forward in this story. It had all the feels, with amazing characters, an excellent romcom plot, a side of drama with a funny twist and all the Christmas spirit you need for this holiday season. (come on I was in book heaven lol).
Bridget and Soren are the perfect sample of opposites do attract, from enemy to lovers, this couple were just magnificent. Their chemistry and interactions made me laugh so hard but also appreciate the characters for everything they went through growing up.
I don't want to give too much of the story because you really need to read this book, just prepare yourself for the laughs you'll have but also for some emotional and very touchy moments.
Bridget Dasher is as giving as they come. When her parents unexpectedly died when her and her sister were teens, she raised her sister Lori and pushed her dreams to the wayside. For the past decades, Bridget’s worked in bakeries, dreaming of one day opening up her own. Lori’s about to get married in Colorado at the same place their parents did years ago and Bridget offered to plan it for Lori. But the night before leaving for Colorado, Bridget is fired from her job and catches her boyfriend cheating on her.
So on her way to the cabin, Bridget spends a night in Denver and decides to be so unlike herself—she has a one night stand from a gorgeous man at the hotel bar. But the next morning, she discovers the handsome stranger she had an unforgettable night with is Soren, the best man in the wedding. The man Lori’s had nothing but awful things to say about.
Soren Rudolph is a ruthless businessman, appearing heartless to just about everyone. He’s the complete opposite of his best friend, Tom who is getting married over Christmas. Soren isn’t ready to give up his second family—Tom’s—so Soren is determined to stop the wedding from happening. After an incredible one night stand in a Denver hotel, he’s surprised to discover his vixen is none other than the maid of honor, who is determined to have the wedding go off without a hitch.
Up on the mountain, Soren and Bridget continually butt heads. Soren, wanting to stop the wedding and Bridget, wanting to execute the perfect day for her baby sister. But even though the two can’t stand each other, Soren and Bridget can’t seem to keep their hands off each other. Maybe this sweet vixen can bring back the spirit of Christmas to this grumpy Scrooge after all...
Not Your Average Vixen by Krista Sandor is an enemies to lovers holiday romance full of steam, heart and Christmas cheer. I originally picked this up because of its to die for cover, but the story quickly won over my heart. I love a grumpy hero and Soren was the perfect Scrooge. Bridget is a sweetheart who was dealt a terrible hand. And seeing her soften Soren’s hard exterior was sweet. Definitely a great holiday read! 4/5 stars.
With her personal and professional life in disarray Bridget is not about to let that deter her from ensuring that her sister’s wedding day is magical occasion that she deserves. She isn’t about to let the best man do anything to ruin the day even if he was the sexy stranger she spent the night with.
Soren is a successful businessman who doesn’t allow feelings to cloud his decision either personally or professionally. Even though he is the best man he doesn’t believe that the marriage should proceed and he isn’t above interfering to ensure that it doesn’t happen.
Soren and Bridge couldn’t be more different both when it comes to their views on life and love. Their journey takes us on quite the ride filled with romance, humor and all the feels as they might just receive the gift that they didn’t know they were looking for.
I really enjoyed this holiday romance. There was a lot of funny back and forth between the characters. And as the story built and developed I felt like the main characters really grew too.
Soren stood out the most for me on that point. He was not exactly a likable person in the beginning. But as you learned more about him, and saw him come to the rescue time after time for those he cared about, it helped soften my thoughts towards him. By the end I had done a complete one-eighty about him.
Birdie and Soren were like oil and water one moment and the next they were all over each other. I was definitely rooting for them to figure things out and be together though.
Overall I liked this book and would recommend it to other contemporary romance fans looking for a holiday read.
5 Star review of Not Your Average Vixen by Krista Sandor When I read the blurb and found out the main characters’ names were Bridget Dasher, and Soren Christopher Traeger-Rudolph, I just knew that I had to read this book. I have only read a few books from Krista Sandor but every one that I have read was thoroughly entertaining as was Not Your Average Vixen. I was hooked from the first chapter and there were so many laugh out loud moments my husband thought I was going crazy. This is an enemies to lovers story that I loved. I enjoy Ms. Sandor’s style of writing, her characters are strong and , quirky and easy to relate too. I could go on and on about this book, the characters and how good it was but put simply, this book brightened up what has been a horrible week and I highly recommend you one click it on release.
5 Stars! First let me say that this book was a surprise. To be honest, the first chapter with Soren had me downright disgusted. He was a jerk. Soren was an arrogant, selfish, inconsiderate......yep, the list goes on. He was so mean; I didn't even want to like him. And I worried for the heroine because I just couldn't see how Soren could be redeemed. I won't lie, I fought with myself whether to continue reading. It's not like I haven't read heroes who were jerks, but Soren was in a league of his own. Because I adored Bridget from the start, I read on. Let me say I am so glad I did. This book was just amazing in so many ways. Of course, there are background stories on both Soren and Bridget which makes them who they are. This book starts out with a serious tone then after a couple of chapters turns fun and whimsical. The secondary characters were a huge part of why I gave this book 5 stars. And the ending? Incredible!
The setting for the book was fun. There is quite a bit of humor which really surprised me because I wasn't expecting it. I won't go into any details about the story because you should definitely experience this charming book all on your own.
Another pleasant aspect of this book is that the author was a first for me. I will most definitely read more from her in the future. I totally recommend this delightful, whimsical romance with a whole cast of endearing characters with a setting just perfect for the holiday.
This is my honest and unbiased review and I thank you for taking the time to read it. :)
I loved this read! I laughed out loud so much and it was equally steamy. It was the perfect holiday read to get me in the mood for more holiday reads. I definitely recommend! ~Andrea
Such a fun, Christmas themed romance. A Scrooge who falls and falls hard and a vixen who finally gets what she deserves. ~Jen
Not Your Average Vixen was an enemies to lovers Christmas themed romance! I really loved it. It was sweet, sexy and funny! I would love to visit a town like Kringle! Bridget aka Birdie was a sweet and sassy woman. Soren aka Scooter was pretty much a Grinch alot but I loved him. Birdie and Scooter were great together with amazing chemistry!
With just a few words or a simple turn of phrase, Sandor can activate the heart tingles. Not Your Average Vixen may start with a lump of coal, but will leave your heart feeling merry and bright. Everyone loves a good feel good story and Bridget and Soren make theirs hard to resist. Sweet with a side of sexy packs an entree of laughs.
Not Your Average Vixen is a funny and sweet holiday romance. The town of Kringle takes Christmas pretty seriously, and it is awesome. NYAV is filled with a lot of over the top Christmas references and cheer, but it works.
Soren Rudolph can give Scrooge a run for his money. And the Grinch is a minor nuisance compared to this man. Soren is shallow, manipulative, downright cold, and completely lacking in holiday cheer. Or is he? The Soren that Bridget meets at a hotel bar is warm and funny, and maybe a little vulnerable. And the more time she spends with him, the more she starts to wonder which version is the real Soren.
Bridget put her life on hold when she was 18, in order to ensure her sister never went without. Though she has never regretted this choice, lately she feels like something is missing. At the same time, she is afraid to make the leap, preferring comfort and safety to the unknown.
Bridget and Soren are so adorable together, and I love how natural they are with one another. Their connection is proof that sometimes you just know. And though these two are on different sides - she is trying to give her sister a dream wedding, and he is trying to ensure it doesn't happen- they can't stay away.
If you are looking for a feel good, laugh out loud holiday romance, with witty banter, steam, and an emotional come to Santa moment, then this is the one for you!
This book had me giggling, laughing out loud and crying. Ms Sandor knows how to write a romcom with the perfect amount of each. This book has a pompous jerk boss, a cheater boyfriend, Reindeer Names, a Vixen, Christmas fairies, a devoted sister, the worst best man, a one night stand that turns out hot and hilarious, cute kids, a village of retired Santa and Mrs Clauses, some seriously hot steamy scenes and two people learning they can be more than they thought. This will now be a book I’ll have to reread every Christmas!
Sweet treats and reindeer puns galore! Not Your Average Vixen is the perfect RomCom to escape with this holiday season!!! Soren and Birdie have the best banter, comebacks and chemistry. From the first page you'll be drawn in and unable to put it down until you finish. I loved this story and it's quite possibly my favorite holiday story yet. I'll definitely be reading this one every year to get in the holiday spirit!
Not Your Average Vixen is not your average Christmas love story. This enemies to lovers or maybe it should be more like lovers to enemies to lovers again would be a better way to describe their story. When your one night stand turns out to be the best man at your sister's wedding can things get any worse. The witty banter in this story and the laugh out loud moments have you totally enchanted by this story. Soren is a character that you are not sure if you will end up liking but as Krista Sandor does each and every time, she has him stealing your heart by the end. Bridget has a strength that you will admire and one that will have you instantly drawn to her. Along with the steam, heat, chemistry and all the push and pull between these two it is also an emotional tale and one of healing and forgiveness. It’s the quintessential holiday storytelling you love to indulge in this time of year.
Awesome lovers to enemies to lovers to more Christmas romance! Bridget is a baker extraordinaire, but a bit stuck. Her focus has always been her sister. Now her sister has found her soulmate and her priorities are about to change. Soren is broody and calculated, but hungry for the love of family. He found that in the Abbotts. His best friend, Tom Abbott is about to marry and Soren is not dealing with the change. When Soren and Bridget meet the chemistry is intense! What follows is a push and pull of the best kind. I loved every character so much! There were some real laugh out loud moments along with a few tears. The atmosphere is warm and cozy and the descriptions really transport you to a house on the snow covered mountains. If you need a sweet/steamy read with all the holiday feels, this is it!
So this one was so much better than I was expecting it will be. It was a one night stand, enemies to lovers romance that was just so great with moments of sincerity and hilarity. Bridget wanted to make sure that everything was perfect for her little sister's wedding and Soren did not think that his best friend was ready to be a husband. So after getting together as strangers and then realizing that they are on opposite sides of the wedding things really heat up. I loved all the hit and miss situations between the two of them. And the fact that the town had a retirement home full of Santas and Mrs. Clauses. This book had just the right amount of naughty and nice for Christmas and I fully recommend this to anyone needing a holiday read. *I received an ARC for an honest review*
