A Desperate Situation . . .

Claire Wild is in what appears to be an impossible situation. She and Bard signed up for Hades’ Challenge where immortals fight in battles to the death. Claire cannot accept that there can be only one survivor. Bard is ready to sacrifice himself but Claire does not want to acknowledge that. She does not want to face that her friends can die as a result of her actions. How can she avoid harming them? Is there any way to avoid losing them?

An exciting book with good storytelling. A young girl Claire, signed up to be in Hades' Challenge to save a friend Jason. But this was no ordinary challenge, it was death to the loser. During the contest Claire finds out who her father is and her mother's name, as she was left on a door step of a human and raised as a human but she was a demigoddess. Immortals were everywhere and Zeus' was helping run the show and everyone was afraid of him, even his brother Hades couldn't trust him not to be killed. Good book!

This book continues seamlessly from the fourth book and is an excellent conclusion to the story. The book is well written and the characters and story were well developed. I love the individual character personalities and seeing their relationship dynamics grow and evolve through the books. The story was action packed and full of twists and turns. It had suspense, intrigue, emotion, romance and hot chemistry. I’d highly recommend this book and the series as a whole!! It was an amazing read!!

I received an arc for a voluntary review.

So much going on in this book Claire signing the contract has locked her into competing to save Jason's life. As the story continues, she learns she has more allies than she realizes and that she is stronger than she knows. Can't wait for the next book.
