There’s nothing wrong with a little sexy foreplay for your Vegas one-night stand, am I right? It only becomes a problem when you get home and realize your hook-up now has naked photos of you in your full glory (and I am glorious, don’t worry about that). Now I have no way to track her down.

Maybe she won’t sell the pictures to the press, even if I am a NHL hockey player and she stands to make a mint. There might still be good--and really, really smokin’ hot--people out there. I’m staking my career on a stranger’s moral compass.

That’s what I hope for, at least, until I discover that Smithy aka Morgan Smith is now moonlighting as a paparazzi. She needs the money to help her kid and I can’t tell if she’s playing me or if she's actually a decent woman who won’t resort to blackmail.

I don’t want to believe she’ll sell my pictures but she’s in a very, very tight spot. So am I: those pictures can ruin my career.

Is it wrong that I’m still madly attracted to the one woman who can destroy me?

I need a solution to this dilemma so we can both move on with our lives and go our separate ways. Because I am not the kind of guy who falls for anyone, least of all his one night stand. No matter how badly I want her.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Morgan and Mitch had an one night stand in Vegas and naughty pictures were taken. When Mitch wakes up alone, he is nervous about this. Morgan due to her daughter's illness is forced to do things she doesn't like. However she doesn't want to sell the pictures even if it would solve her problems. Mitch runs into Morgan again when she is working as paparazzi. The attraction between them is still high. Mitch meets Cessa and falls for both Morgan and Cessa. I loved the solution that is found to help Cessa and Morgan and Mitch can have a loving relationship.

The sixth book in the series is Snap Shot. In this story, we follow Rookie, otherwise known as Mitch Abraham. He is one of the younger guys on the team, and he is well known for his exploits off the ice. (And the perchance for ending up naked). Mitch was raised by his grandmother that experience of not knowing his parents has affected his view of relationships. Determined not to have any serious relationships, he hits us the casino on the team's latest trip to Las Vegas. There he meets a woman who could prove very dangerous, not just to his heart but also to his career.

My Take

I thoroughly enjoyed the series. Pippa Green delves into deeper topics (boss vs. employee relationships, single parenthood, interfering parental units, etc.). But, the stories still manage to be fun and have a nice flow. The characters are easy to relate to, even if you're not a super fan of hockey. For a hockey romance series, there is a surprising lack of hockey.

I did have a complaint, and it mostly takes place in Snap Shot. The manufactured drama is a little unbelievable. You have Mitch and Morgan; they are on opposite sides of their drama, and there is a very "easy" solution to the problem that neither of them brings up. I'm not going to spoil it, but it did take me out of the story. The conflict really should have been figured out midway through the story. There is a fine line an author has to flirt with when writing a series. They need to have a new drama for each book. But, the longer the series goes, the harder they have to work to manufacture that drama. I'll be interested to read the next book when it is released.

Another observation I had - and this extends to other stories that I've read - is that family and friends in romance novels are super pushy. Now, I'm familiar with passive-aggression, and I recognize that messed-up family dynamics lead to more drama. But man, sometimes, I want to smack friends and family for not being supportive. I couldn't imagine if I fell in love with a friend of one of my brothers that they would act like that was the worst thing in the world. It's a familiar trope to have a sister fall for their brother's best friend (or a brother fall for a sister's best friend). But, if it is not well written, it can come across as hypocritical - notably, when the story revolves around a younger sister. In this series, you have two different brothers who are opposed to their sisters dating their best friends. He's good enough to be your best friend but not to date your sister. To me, it is irritating (almost as annoying as Grammarly). That may be the feminist in me.

Would I Recommend?

Yes, if you're looking for a sports romance series, I highly recommend the Minnesota Raiders series (there is even a new book dropping on February 22, 2022). Sure, you can read each story on its own but, I don't recommend it. All of the story's build on each other, particularly the prequel and the first three stories.

Overall I give each book 4.5/5 stars. I like the stories but, sometimes the manufactured drama pulls you out of the story.

In this book, the Rookie, Mitch, is fighting all attachment, to any woman. Especially, when he sees his teammates dropping like flies. They were either engaged or married.

It didn't mean he wanted to miss the poker night at Dom’s house. Which ironically used, to be called, The Single Dad's Club. Dads helping dads. It used, to weird him out with, all the talk about the kids. Which is now transitioning into them talking, about their women.

So, when it came time to play in Vegas all he could think of was, cutting loose. And, did he ever. Hitting the tables and the luckiest one as far as he can see. Mitch meets, who we now know, to be Morgan (Smithy). She is good at cards, doesn't care who he is, and, is sexier than Sh!t, and then some.

What is supposed to be a one-and-done turns out to be Oh. My. Gosh! Do you live in the same state and city? Then, when she has, to take a job as a paparazzi, for her daughter’s surgery he won’t listen. Mainly because their one-and-done night, have them crashing into one another. They are both producing deep feelings, which are better left untapped, only to come knocking anyway. And, a little matter of nude picks of, Mitch, taken by, Morgan, of him on their wild night, together. Where he didn’t ask for an NDA. OOPS!

What Mitch didn't know, or expect is for, Morgan, to have a child let alone, the sweetest little girl ever. Cessa is four, and not doing well. See how they figure out a way to work on a way to get the money for her surgery. The team once again shows once you’re a Minnesota Raider you’re family and they take care of their own.

4.5-stars for Snap Shot

This is another great addition to the Minnesota Raiders series, one of my favorite books in the series. Morgan AKA Smithy and Mitch hook up in Vegas a one time deal, no personal details and no feelings, those are the rules they both agreed to. And who wouldn't agree, they have great chemistry and probably live on opposite sides of the US...... Neither could pass on their connection or their steamy, hot chemistry. But, no spoilers here, you'll need to read Snap Shot to find out what happens when Mitch is back on home ice and decides to stock up on carbs, he spots a sexy a** in the store and "discreetly follows that a**, what single guy wouldn't" (he thought to himself). Only when the sexy a** turns around, both are shocked at who they see. You don't want to miss Snap Shot by the amazing duo Pippa Green. This isn't only sexy & steamy, it's sweet & romantic and I am referring to both the book and Mitch. Cessa adds a whole other level to this book, there's so many levels to this read which is why it's probably my favorite book in this series and one I certainly can and would recommend!!
Even though I did receive an advanced review copy of this book, I also purchased the book/read with Kindle Unlimited and am voluntarily leaving my own unsolicited opinion with my voluntary review.

Mitch ‘The Rookie’ is cocky and often obnoxiously immature, but he has a good heart and is loyal to his teammates. After a hot one night stand while in Vegas with a woman named Smithy he starts to regret posing for nude pictures realizing it was epically stupid.

Mitch is one of the few single guys left on the Minnesota Raiders hockey team, and he’s running out of teammates to hangout with in bars. He’s not ready to settle down, but he keeps thinking about the woman he had a one night stand with in Vegas. When he discovers she’s one of the dreaded paparazzi he is extremely upset because she has pictures of him posing nude that could kill his career and lucrative sponsorships.

The author gives dual POV throughout the story and this helps the reader to understand how much Mitch is fighting his feelings for Morgan and his fear of being vulnerable. He gets caught up in his inner dialogue and makes some poor choices as he tries to outrun his feelings. Likewise, Morgan’s inner dialogue is bringing up her history of being with men she considers ‘dumpster fires’ and her struggle to come up with the money needed for her young daughter’s brain surgery.

These two characters fight against themselves and their desire for each other. They don’t have an easy journey to a relationship both because of their individual pasts, plus their circumstances of being a sports celebrity and a photojournalist turned paparazzi.

I rated this four and a half stars, rounding up
This book is part of an ice hockey romance series that I have enjoyed. Previously a lot of the other single players have gotten married, leaving Mitch the Rookie without his usual wingmen. He is not really a rookie anymore but the nickname has stuck because he is a bit of a manchild. Playing in Las Vegas, he hooks up with a sexy woman who sweeps him off his game but slinks off in the night without leaving her number. Imagine his surprise when he finds out she's a paparazzi. He is horrified that she might sell his naked photos, and she's in fact considering it, because her daughter needs a brain tumor operation she can't afford. Can Mitch grow up enough to become a father figure for the little girl?

I really enjoyed this. Mitch comes off as a cocky brat at times but it's good to peel off his layers and find the good guy underneath. The little speech he makes at the wedding is quite swoony. There are minor continuity problems and the timeline is a bit fuzzy.

It began as a one night stand for Mitch “Rookie” Abraham of the Minnesota Raiders NHL team in Las Vegas with a woman he only knew as Smithy. It was amazing! Not just the intimate times, but also the fun they’d had laughing together and mostly the fact that she didn’t even know who he was! That was novel in his life. Sure he was buff and good looking, but still he never kidded himself that women were more drawn to his status and money! But, to his amazement, he was disappointed when he awoke to find her gone without leaving her number. He didn’t even know her real name. And soon he realized that he had allowed (even gladly posed) for her to take naked photos of him! The Raiders owner would be royally ticked off if they hit the tabloids! But he didn’t even know her name!
Then he reconnects with her in his local grocery store and realized she lived in Minneapolis and not too far away! He’s still attracted, but she holds his career in her hands or camera! And she has a little girl! How to proceed?
A heartwarming story of “The Rookie’s” realization that there’s more to life than partying and exhibitionism!
A ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ MUST READ by Pippa Green!

Since this is book number six, Mitch is one of the last single guys left on the Minnesota Raiders hockey team. He's always been rather cocky, but when he realizes that Morgan, his one night stand in Vegas where he allowed naked photos, turns out to be a member of the paparazzi, he's worried she will blackmail him and ruin his career. Morgan is in need of a great deal of money for her daughter Cessa's brain surgery. Will she blackmail Mitch or is there another solution?

When they meet again, they fight their feelings for each other. Their journey to together is not without many "bumps," but when the other players and their wives get involved, the reader can finally see a journey to a happy ending. It's a very engaging story and a good complement to the other books in the series!

What happens in Vegas might not stay there and Mitch really needs it to stay there Mitch and Morgan hooked up in Vegas some photos were taken that would ruin his career. When he finds out that the woman he trusted to take photos of him is working as a paparazzi he's expecting her to sell them or blackmail him. Morgan's daughter is really sick she needs brain surgery so she needs a lot of money. What is she going to do? You really need to read this engaging story to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

Mitch and Morgan have a fun night in Vegas. Morgan takes some pictures of Mitch in all his glory. Once back home Mitch finds out that Morgan is a photojournalist and is worried that she will sell the pictures. Since they didn’t exchange any info, he has not a clue how to find her.
He is shocked when he runs into her at a store, they get together to talk and he finds out she has a daughter who is very sick he tries to help all he can and even gets the hockey team involved. He finds out Morgan is what he has been missing in his life and after a ton of ups and downs they are able to find their HEA.

take a picture

I’ve been waiting for the Rookies story since Mitch first showed up on the page and it was worth the wait.

Ever the jokester, Mitch thrives in the spotlight and loved to make everyone laugh. His energy was through the roof and man did he grapple with his feelings. Morgan did everything for her daughter. She was willing to give up her passion to make sure he daughter had what she needed. Those two together was fire from the start. And even when she was pushing him away or when he was angry at her, they still had amazing chemistry.

Through every book I’ve come to love this world of hockey and love. I can’t wait to read more.

Oops . . .

Foolishly, during a one-night stand in Vegas, Mitch agreed to let his paramour take naked photos. When realization finally dawned, there is no obvious way to track down the lovely photographer. Will she sell the pictures to the press since he is an NHL hockey player and those pics may be worth something?

But finding out that “Smithy” (a/k/a Morgan Smith) is currently working as a paparazzi and needs lots of money for her child’s brain surgery, Mitch may have a problem. Is she going to be honorable or cash in on his name? Those photos could ruin his career.

Loved this book, Rookie and his wild ways, Morgan and her situation- so good, the chemistry is off the charts.
This book was well written with such detail and emotion. I honestly was in tears in parts and then laughing out loud at other bits.
Great storyline which has you falling for those softy hockey hunks and their wives all over again.
I love this series, each and every book.

When the night in Vegas for Mitch does not stay in Vegas, things heat up when Mitch realizes his one night may have his future in her hands. Morgan is torn between what she needs and what is right, when it comes to her daughter there is almost nothing she won't do. This is a great story with numerous bumps and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

okay read

An okay read that started off quite strongly, fizzled out a but in the middle and then recovered a bit. Characters were just okay but not enough to encourage me to read further into the series.

I enjoyed reading Mitch and Morgan;s love story, though Morgan is going through some major crisis, their characters connect, Mitch is a sweet man under all that brass and growly hockey player. I have enjoyed every book in this series

Mitch & Morgan

Didn't like this one as much as the others, it just didn't gel with me. While I did like Mitch, I thought he was a little juvenile. I didn't like Morgan for the most part. Thought her daughter was adorable. Ok read.

Mitch

I loved how all the guys talked with Mitch about being okay with his feelings. I also love how all the players’ lives are intertwined. Family is everything. I especially smiled at the last scene in the epilogue…sounds like my cousin’s actual business in Vegas!

Snapshot made me smile, laugh, swoon, and my bookish heart so very happy. 100 stars ⭐️ for this one. My absolute favourite book I’ve ever read by this phenomenal author.
