But it's been that way for Eryn since before the accident, and doesn't seem to be getting better.
Maybe... worse.
Strange dreams, hallucinations, and a confusingly intense connection with a stranger have her wondering if she'll ever be "okay" again.
A fate she can't accept.
But one she'll have to risk everything to avoid.
(Restored is a paranormal romance, the last of a three book series. It is a novella, roughly the same length as the other two books in the series, which you are highly encouraged to read (or re-read) first.)
Reread this one and baby it’s my favorite of the series! Eryn and Zair’s love was potent and no one could of saw the effects of Book 2 coming back to haunt the group in Book 3. We start with Zair finally snapping out of the trance Mave had him under only for Eryn to go under that same trance. Before in book 2, we thought it was just sex that would break the spell but it didn’t work for Eryn and Zair. The journey of Eryn realizing she was under a spell because she was also in the throes of grief from an accident but it felt like she lost more. The small signs she received throughout her journey were signs of the spell not fully working. Zair loved Eryn down and when she accused him of cheating on his wife that broke me because you could feel his pain! When Eryn finally gets her memory back I feared it may be too late! Her confronting Mave had me nervous because more surprises were revealed but Eryn had a Joker sitting in her back pocket that I forgot about and brought the title of the book more meaning! I thought this was a great close to the series and I honestly can’t wait to see if these royals show up in another series!
Thank God I reread Haunted and Coveted because, without the refresher, I definitely would've been lost. It's been six years since Coveted was released so, I'd forgotten a lot. That damn Maeve made you want to pull up and put them mortal hands on her. She was doing the absolute most just to be petty and vengeful. Constantly pulling these couples apart then, doing the unspeakable. I definitely did not see that little plot twist coming. But, Eryn and Zair's bond was a lot stronger than Maeve anticipated. They were tethered to each other a little differently than Khalida, Aram, Ancelin, and Nasir. In the end, Maeve gets what's coming to her, good triumphs over evil, and all of the couples can finally live HEA. Restored was well worth the wait. It was an amazing conclusion to the series and it answered many of the questions a lot of us had from the first two books.
Thank goodness Wesleigh came in and saved the day with the last Audiobook. Chile bc I definitely followed this one better. Narrators voices make or break the story. An okay story. I think it could have been better if we had more back story as to why Maeve so badly wanted to be immortal (Her story was kinda blah 🤷🏽♀️). She definitely could have put all 3 stories together and gave more on the lineage and ancient history esp the Jaguars and the powers they possessed.
Girl, this series right here. This one had me fully locked in I was waiting to see if Eryn would lose herself or finally find what she’d been missing all along. I loved how the men had to remind their wives exactly why they fell in love with them in the first place. Watching each couple fight their way back to each other was beautiful, raw, and real. I’m truly going to miss these three couples they had me in a chokehold from start to finish.
The bond we’ve seen from each couple did not compare to Eryn and Zair it was much different. I’m so glad Maeve weird ass is gone now everyone can live in peace.
What a powerful way to wrap up the series! Restored delivered everything we needed to fully understand the spell that bound Khalida and Aram back in Book 1. This last book beautifully blended paranormal romance with touches of fantasy, bringing the story full circle in a satisfying and magical way.
I forgot how amazing this series was until I had to go back and read the first two books to refresh my memory for this book. This was such an amazing ending to the journey of three amazing couples. And then death I had been waiting on since the beginning finally happened. Ding dong, the witch is dead!
I guess this book was my favorite because everything came full circle and all the pieces were put into place. Zair and Eryn were just as hopelessly in love and smoking hot as the two previous couples, but their hurts and pain was more potent than anything the others experienced. Maeve was a complete power hungry witch who got exactly what she deserved!
I loved the premise of this series but I feel like the backstory of the Immortals was not full fleshed out. This is paranormal romance but it's not like the paranormal romances I'm used to where there's detailed world-building. This was more erotic paranormal romance. I re-read the first two books in the series to refresh my memory and they were just okay the second time around. I finished Restored still feeling like I got half a story.
synopsis: we open with zair finally snapping out of the trance mave placed him under — but just as he returns to himself, eryn ends up caught in the same spell.
after learning about the accident in book two, eryn is overcome with grief — raw, consuming, and just enough to leave her vulnerable to mave’s manipulation. where physical intimacy broke the tether’s hold in the first two books, it’s not enough this time. not for eryn. not with the spell evolving in strength and intent. as she slips further into the fog, eryn starts to notice the glitches — small signs, familiar pulls, flashes of clarity that hint at something deeper. the spell isn’t perfect, and through the cracks, her truth starts to emerge. this book is a quick unraveling — a journey of coming home to yourself, reclaiming autonomy, and rediscovering love that’s rooted in choice, not control.
my thoughts: listen. this was my favorite of the series, hands down. 4⭐️ and solid for the way everything finally came together. the unraveling, the realizations, the get back — it all hit. everybody got what they deserved… except that no good, low-down, evil-spirited grandma 😒 but even then, i’m calling it justice because eryn did her big one when it came to saving her husband. that scene alone? chills.
i loved seeing how the threads from books 1 and 2 looped back around here. it felt full circle. zair and eryn’s journey wasn’t just romantic, it was spiritual, psychological, and had just enough tension to keep me turning the pages. that said… i do still wish we got more on the immortals — how they came to be, why they were bound in the first place, what their history really looks like. some of that felt like potholes in the plot that needed filling. because the lore? the magic? it was rich, but it could’ve gone even deeper. still, the series landed beautifully. tethered love, broken spells, and a woman who was willing to burn everything down to bring her man home?
I can't tell if it was a miss or by design, but Maeve's rationale for her crazed and evil actions against her family made no sense to me..
In the final act, when she performed her villain's monologue, nothing that came out of her mouth made any sense. I can't tell if that was purposeful, to show just how deranged, crazy and desperate for power she was? Or if I was SUPPOSED to understand what she was ranting and raving about, but the execution was off.
Regardless of what the case is, for me the main mystery... the WHY behind everything, was not solved. I have no idea what the goal was in all of the plotting, planning, sabatoging, pain, and chaos Maeve caused in Aram, Khalida, Ancelin, Nasir, Zair, and Eryns life.
All in all though, I thoroughly enjoyed this final installment, these characters, and their fantastical love story.
I need more Black Paranormal Romance!!!
PS. I just remembered, I don't think it was fully explained what the deal is with Eryn and Arams heritage and birth...I have QUESTIONS!
I have really enjoyed this series and how everyone found their mate and were able to get to the bottom of why all of this was happening to them. I loved Zair and Eryn’s story they were the underdogs of the series but held the most power of them all because of their connection and the secret they held. It hurt to know that they robbed of the beautiful moments they both longed for but didn’t have to miss out on too much. I still don’t know how if they are so old how the past and the current seem so close and so far away at the same time. I’m still not understanding why Mave ended up they way she did. I really would have liked more of her back story and to know what happened after she lost the powers she did have. Are Eryn and Aram parents going to get a story, so we know how it all happened and came to be? All in all three coupes got there HEA and were so deserving of it. Love a great short sweet with a little spice and straight to the point type story lines. Even with the mystery this has been great!!!
I love this is a paranormal romance with an all Black cast. Christina C. Jones is a newer author for me; this is the second paranormal series I’ve read by her. I enjoy her writing. She has good character development, decent world building, and excellent plot development. Her sex scenes are hot too.
These books are medium in length, appropriately 200 pages, so they are longer than short stories but not long reads. This final book wraps up the overall plot of the series. It is the reuniting of the last couple affected by antagonist’s machinations. I wonder if Ms. Jones will write any more stories about residents in Blackwood. I would enjoy more stories about the predominantly Black, supernatural enclosure.
The finale felt a little anticlimactic for me after I was so blown away by the previous book. It was still a very enjoyable read. Eryn’s self-deprecating attitude annoyed me, but she overcame that. Watching her regain her Black Girl Magic was exciting. I didn’t expect to love a paranormal romance series, but I’m glad that I gave it a shot. I loved how this book tied up the loose ends. The erotica was great, but the overall display of Black Love won me over. The magic of having someone love you through several centuries and lifetimes was very touching. This series reminded me of The Living Blood by Tananarive Due in the best way possible.
Overall it was a good conclusion to the series, but I feel like I still have a lot of questions:
So like can Aram and Khlaida have kids but have to wait till Aram comes into power? Whatever that means and can Eryn and Zair not have anymore kids bc of what Maeve did?? And why was sex seen as the bond? Is it because of the binding ? And why was Zair’s speech in the past sounding more present than medieval times ??
I mean overall it was alright, I definitely recommend listening to it on audio
I finally got the last book to the series! I’ve been waiting for a while. That Maeve embodies evil - no remorse, regret, nothing for all the hell that she has put these people through for years! The immortals and their mates can’t keep their happiness as long as she is alive and seeking power. I’m enjoyed this book and it was a fitting ending to a great series
This book was my favorite because all my questions were answered and everybody got the HEA they deserved except that damn low down no good evil spirited grandma… and the way they got her was *chefs kiss * 🤌🏽😘 I loved everything about this entire series but this book was definitely my fav out of all of them….now I need an update on baby Adía 😂
I liked this, however, the dialogue between the characters about Maeve’s origin story was kinda confusing and I’m sure I didn’t grasp everything. I found myself quickly reading through just to get to the next parts. I wished Zair and Eryn’s first interactions weren’t so….crude. Didn’t seem fitting for the way the princess was described. Overall, really entertaining series.
To cruelly rule these people's lives. Constantly pulling them apart and then stealing a child. She should have gotten a worst death. On issue is I would have liked to know how Aram and Eryn came to be and who Asha and Kol were? Also what was the instructions for Eryn.
