Rate this book
David Stoneman was a rising star at one of Washington, D.C.'s most prestigious law firms until the firm's conniving managing partner, Gregory Thomas III, abruptly derailed his plans. Thereafter, David encounters Sarah Mercer, a single mother who tragically lost her son and wants justice. To help Sarah and redeem his tarnished reputation, David unwittingly uncovers a government secret buried by Senator Stephen Smythe, a ruthless politician who will stop at nothing to protect his new legislation, the Division Act. Allying with a desperate Southern Baptist minister, David and Sarah find themselves in a tumultuous legal battle which turns into a fight for their lives. The clock is ticking, and David must use his most powerful weapon - his mind - to outsmart his former boss, outmaneuver a team of highly-trained killers, and outlast a sitting United States Senator, before it's too late.

Page-Turner

Deadly Division is a well-written, thought-provoking page-turner. The subject matter is timely, and the plot is absorbing. The characters are mostly believable, if a little exaggerated in some cases. There are enough twists in the plot that I was surprised and wanted to keep reading.

I usually only get around to reading 2-3 fiction novels a year with my job and other life responsibilities. I chose this novel to read on vacation at the beach as I have personal ties to the author. I started it on one day, and finished in <30 hours later because the story was so good and just made it difficult to put the book down. I really enjoy fiction thrillers that are factual and could be true, and this hit the spot! The characters and storylines were well developed and most of my predictions going through my head ended up being wrong, which was a pleasant surprise! Can’t wait for the sequel! Great first book Nathaniel!

Deadly Division is a thrilling story! I was immediately sucked into the story of a lawyer who is fired from his job, and attempts to get the best of his employers by offering his services pro bono to a case he believes will make him famous.
The plot twists and turns, and keeps you turning the pages as one problem after another arises. I look forward to sequels from this author!

Not much to say except that the author would do well to read more established crime writers' works, such John Lescroart and Michael Connelly. The story line had a good premise but the characters and the unfolding of the story all lacked development and depth. It wasn't a terrible book. I was expecting more, hence the two-star rating.

Breaking new ground

Breaking new ground with current legal and moral issues, the book draws the reader in with compelling characters, a fast moving complex plot and elements that all good novels enjoy. The book is not easy to put down as the story grabs your attention and you feel part of what is happening world-wide today.

Nathaniel Sizemore is the next John Grisham. Deadly Division is a page-turning, face-paced legal thriller which I read in one night. I literally could not put it down. The characters are fully developed, the plot is ingenious, and it is evident Sizemore knows his way around the South and Washington, D.C. His descriptive writing, attention to detail and relevant subject matter makes Deadly Division a must read. I can't wait for his next novel.
