Agents Jonas and Torez are polar opposites. He's a skeptical ten year Special Agent who believes in logic; she's an open minded rookie who is excited to begin her career in the FBI. Together they travel to northern Illinois to investigate an incident that took place in a museum in Chicago. Along the way, they come across a small town and stop at a run down café for some coffee and lunch. When Torez accidently lets slip that they're on their way to investigate a case in Chicago, the locals are eager to share their usual stories with the outsiders. Jonas finds the tales too ludicrous to swallow. But when a young girl shares a secret message with him, his skepticism is pushed aside, and he rushes off to face his past to solve a mystery that's haunted him for the past twenty years.
