Trapped. Silenced. Devastated. Greed has a way of snuffing out even the most noble souls, and in Diablo’s world, you either bend to his will or you’re dead. Ben’s been chained to his enforcer role longer than he ever intended and panic is starting to set in. Will he ever be free again, or is he simply a pawn in another man’s sick and twisted game? More importantly, how will he earn forgiveness from the one woman who can save his soul?
With the Wolves disbanded, Hazel’s only hope for revenge lies between two beating hearts—the man who’s loved her since she was a teen and the man who slips into her subconscious at night, heating her from the inside out. She’s torn between family loyalties, enacting revenge, and relinquishing her bruised and beaten heart. Diablo won’t see another day of power if she can help it, but only one person has the kind of access she needs to infiltrate and destroy this crooked kingdom.
Loren is a connoisseur of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and raunchy romance novels, and when she's feeling particularly wild, she might even pour herself a glass (or four) of her favorite vino. She lives in Texas with her husband, son, and furry besties - a corgi and mini-Aussie who keep her on her toes. You'll often find her lost in a good book or embarking on wild and wacky adventures with her crew.
As seen on my blog (Jessie's Reading Corner): Waging War is the epic conclusion to Loren Beeson’s Betting on Love series and comes out March 30th! Non-stop action and enough steam between the hero and heroine to light your Kindle on fire will keep you turning the pages until the very end!
Ben’s story has always intrigued me since he first appeared in his brother, Jack’s, story, Betting Blind. He’s a man, tortured by his actions and he’s willing to suffer the consequences, if it means keeping his family safe. We also met Hazel in Betting Blind, but she doesn’t really take a front row seat in the action until Dealing Dirty. Each book builds on each other so they must be read in order!
When Loren teased the pairing of Ben and Hazel, I knew this story would have to be epic considering the circumstances, and she did not disappoint! I absolutely loved Ben and Hazel together! I loved their banter in the beginning! Hazel is probably one of the strongest heroines I have ever read. She doesn’t cower against her oppressors, and she goes after what she wants. Her strength is what ultimately draws Ben to her, and I loved that they encouraged and fought alongside each other. My heart broke for Ben. As I mentioned, he’s a man tortured by his actions but when he meets Hazel, he starts to feel like he just might be able to grasp onto some happiness.
I’m sad that this trilogy is over. Aside from all the action, it was great being able to follow the lives of Jack, Cassidy, Derrick, Juliana, Ben, and Hazel throughout the series. Loren’s a masterful storyteller and I can’t wait to read more from her in the future!
If you like steamy romantic suspense with a mafia/MC undertone, check out this series today!
Thank you Loren and Amber Garcia for giving me an ARC of this wonderful story! I’m leaving this review voluntarily!
With books like this I wish I could do more than 5 stars. It was steamy, funny, thrilling, and even a little sad in parts. It has all the feels! This book was my favorite by Loren Beeson. I've read all three in the series and loved them, but this was by far my favorite. I love the characters and especially Ben and Hazel. The chemistry these two had was hot and the banter was great. I was laughing and crying from these two. It's been a long time since a book brought tears to my eyes and had me stop because I couldn't see through the tears building in my eyes. At one point I was so involved in the book that I didn't even realize I was crying until the tear hit my kindle. Such an amazing book with all the feels.
Gah! When two strong ass people come together through a forbidden love and join forces. 👌🏻🔥 Ben and Hazel had me on the edge of my seat this entire book! They are on a wild ride together and we are here trying to hold on. 😂 Both are strong and hardened by traumas of their past and current situations, yet they carry tenderness for each other that brings on all sorts of emotions. 🥺 We get a small glimpse of our favorite people from book 1 and 2 also.
The entire Betting on Love series is a must read and each book will have you wanting more!
L💜VE 🚫 Forbidden Love 🫣Romantic Suspense 💜Fearless, Strong Female 😈Bad Boy Enforcer 🔥STEAMY
This is officially my favorite of this series. Ben and Hazel are everything together. They both share a traumatic past and they both have to be in control. Which all said and done make for some steamy steamy scenes. It's a slow burn that is well worth the wait! Fantastic way to wrap up the series!
I absolutely LOVED this book! Ben and Hazel brought so much fire, passion, and fight to the last book in the Betting on Love series. Not only was their story together heated and fiesty, but surprisingly tender at moments too! I loved seeing both strength AND vulnerability from these characters, both alone and together!
This book pulls the overarching story line of the series together in all the right ways! The ending made me shed actual tears at how well done it all is. I cannot recommend it enough!
The tip of her braided hair lightly tickles the base of my neck. Puffs of air fan across my face from her parted lips, and I have the fiercest urge to bring her mouth to mine. I wonder just how sweet they taste.
I know what Hazel wants, but she knows better. She’s not going any-F***ing-where.
“I knew you’d be into some kinky shit, baby, but if you want to f*** me… you’ll have to ask nicely.”
Title: Waging War Author: Loren Beeson Hero/Heroine: Ben & Hazel Trope: Age Gap/Romantic Suspense
TW/CW: Mention of childhood sexual abuse, mention of drugs and drug use, death of a parent
THE GOOD 😀
After meeting Ben’s character in the previous two books, I was wondering how his character would be redeemed. I can confirm it was, and in a pretty intense and dramatic way. An enforcer for Diablo, a powerful man peddling drugs through the local town, Ben is desperate to find a way to take him down so that he can get back to a normal life and reconnect with his brother, Jack. After the events of the last book, Ben comes to realise that he may have met his perfect match in spitfire Hazel. These two were pretty combustible when they were together, and I loved the fact that Hazel refused to bow down to anyone, including Ben. Determined to be taken seriously, Hazel constantly fights to take control of her own life. I loved her character; she was feisty, fierce and wasn’t afraid to be who she was. And Ben, woah momma, he wasn’t afraid to put her in her place whilst simultaneously respecting her and all she stood for. Both having experienced trauma in their childhoods, they’ve found in each other a kindred spirit that helps to alleviate the pain and the demons they’re still both fighting. What a powerhouse couple, and with this being the last in the series, it had to go out with a bang, and boy did it. Literally thought my heart was going to break when reading the start of the last chapter, not saying why though cos, you know, no spoilers. An incredible end to what has been a fast paced and highly enjoyable trilogy, Waging War kept me hooked right up until the last word.
THE BAD ☹️
Diablo. Into the bin he goes.
Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy of this to read. This is my honest review.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: A fast paced and steamy end to this incredible trilogy STEAM LEVEL: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 STAR RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Waging War, book three in the Betting On Love series follows Jack's older brother Benjamin Campbell and the daughter of Wolves MC president, Hazel Lombardi. We first meet Ben in Betting Blind when Jack helps him raise the money he lost to Bruce aka 'Diablo'. Even though Jack raises the money, Ben offers to suffer the consequences if it means keeping his family safe, and ends up working for Bruce again. But when Bruce tasks Ben with "babysitting" Hazel, what starts off as just a job turns into so much more as the chemistry between them sparks into a flame. What eventually begins as Bruce panicking turns into an epic showdown that brings everything together in an epic showdown to complete the storyline and finally give the three couples some much needed peace. I’m sad that this trilogy is over, but it was nice to catch up Jack, Cassidy, and their new baby girl Emery Jaymes, as well as Derrick and Juliana at Jack and Cassidy's backyard wedding. I only wished that Derrick's sister Sasha or The Pound bartender Micah had their own books as well.
How is it possible that this series just kept getting better and better? Apparently for Beeson that is a very easy feat because oh boy this whole series was fun, but Waging War was really the icing on the cake!
Ben and Hazel are two completely badass characters that I so enjoyed being inside their heads where they didn’t always feel as strong and confident as they portrayed. Some parts were downright sad and I felt for them so strongly. Some parts were super duper steamy (and of course those are my favorites sometimes) since their chemistry was off the charts heart stopping! Some times I wanted to shake some sense into them but at the end of the scene I could see where they were coming from and definitely understood their mindset. I actually think it’s my favorite thing in a book whenever I can agree with who the character is and how they are, without too much trying. And Beeson makes it effortless to understand and love her characters. Especially these two here.
Well written conclusion to a wonderful trilogy. Ben directly impacted the series from book one. Tormented by his own demons, he's thrust into the hands of darkness, forced to remain under threat to his family. His own choices forced him to leave his loved ones behind, taunts him relentlessly and throughout this series forces him to make choices which leave scars. He's the perfect broken character. We see him dance around Hazel in the previous books, with Loren leaving us all on edge at the end of book 2. Book three beautifully sums up not only the story, but gives some of the least repentant characters a chance for redemption. Wonderfully dark with some twists and turns, the story has so much character development for not just Ben, but Hazel as well. Sometimes when thrust into darkness, we learn who we truly are. Good read. I'm sad it's over.
I was fortunate to receive an Advanced Copy of this book.
Waging War by Loren Beeson Betting on Love #3 Releases 3/30 ⭐️4.5/5 🔥5/5 This is the 3rd book in series, while it can be read alone, many of the characters stories are explained in prior books so helps with their story. Story Is of two people trapped (literally and figuratively) in their situations and trying to do everything they can for family but also can’t help this connection between them. I think this one is my favorite out of the 3 even though I kinda got creeped out by Ben is end of Last book but maybe I missed an explanation in what had occurred and why. We have the enforcer for the mafia and a bad a$$ chick from a biker gang! I thought these Barnes boys (hoping I’m not messing up on their last name) were super hot right from the beginning of these stories, yummy manly men. I really do recommend reading this first two to get whole story but I recommend the whole series.
Talk about an epic conclusion! Author Loren Beeson delivers on all fronts with the final book of this trilogy. Waging War is an action-packed, edge-of-your-seat, STEAMY AS HELL read. The smut in this book is much heavier-handed than the previous two in the serious, and I was HERE FOR IT. Ben is potentially my favorite of all three heroes so far - sorry Jack!
The chemistry between Ben and Hazel is the best executed in the series, and you are dying the whole book for them to get together. If you've loved the first two books, you will not be disappointed in how it all ends! The transition from a sweet romance story in the first book to an all-out battle of gangs and dark twists in this book is exquisitely carried out!
Waging War is my favorite book of the trilogy! Go read it!
Each book deserves it's praise, however, I don't like to choose favorites, but…
Ben and Hazel had me wrapped around their pinky fingers! Strong characters and strong in character, when these two get together, explosive! Panty-melting!
Absolutely loved the dialogue.
And glutton for punishment, I even enjoyed the tears Beeson brought to my eyes!
When a story brings on feels, good, bad, laughing, crying, you know, the author did their job! This author excelled at hers!
Pretty good ending to the series! Full or drama, action, and lots of steam, I took my time with this one and enjoyed it. I do wish we had a little more time with the rest of the crew, but Ben’s life (I get it I get it) didn’t allow for that so FINE, LOREN.
Regardless, I loved Ben and Hazel and I liked how this all worked out. Ben is probably my favorite out of every last one of these characters, honestly. He deserved a happy ending.
[I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review]
The 3rd and final book in the Betting Blind Series by Loren Beeson. This book did not disappoint, Loren wrapped it all up perfectly. Ben and Hazel are brought together by her being kidnapped by his boss, he's supposed to be her babysitter and well things escalate, until they end up with the same goals. A great story with an even great plot that spans 3 books, but brings together 3 couple through it all.
Now you will need to read all books in this series cause this story is so good.
Benjamin is the one that got on the wrong side of the law (or did he?) and he trusts the wrong people. Hazel, oh she is the daughter of a MC gang and she is a tough girl that won't back for anyone.
This one ends the series of Betting of love and it was so good and yes I know that this series will be one that I will need on my bookshelf too not just in my kindle.
The story is beyond what I could have imagined, and all the emotions are covered. Ben is complicated and well written; Hazel is a strong female, and has to be to compliment Ben. The emotional journey throughout this trilogy, the chemistry, and the suspense is just a fantastic read all the way through.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
Ben and Hazel are both strong willed. They are both toughened by their past, and yet they have a soft heart and an underlying deep love for each other. This emotional journey is wrought with so many emotions, so much steam and characters that some you'll love and some you'll hate. Wow, what an incredibly well written and entertaining storyline. I wholeheartedly recommend this book.
I freaking love this trilogy, Waging War was by far my favorite and really wrapped up this trilogy in such a great way!! I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat for most of this book!! I also loved Ben and Hazel’s story the most!! Definitely a series that you need to pick up!! First two books Betting Blind and Dealing Dirty are on Kindle Unlimited so go add them to your libraries!!!
Loved this conclusion to the series! Tons of action, plenty of steam and spice, and wonderful characters made this a read I could not put down til I finished! Hazel is a strong female lead, and I absolutely loved her strength and how she did not cower or back down. Ben matched her perfectly, and their banter is part of their chemistry, which was explosive. Amazing read!
Wow! I hadn't read this author before but after meeting her at a book conferenced I wanted to dive in and I am so glad I did. This was amazing! Hazel and Ben are fire and the underlying story just adds to the anticipation and action. I couldn't put it down.
My favorite installment of the betting blind series!
Beeson hit the jackpot (see what I did there) with the third book. So much more sexy scenes, badassery with another strong woman and a motorcycle, and strong bond between a family pack. I really enjoyed a lot of the themes in this book and also how towards the end I was teary eyed. At times I saw myself as Hazel and that made this book even more enjoyable to read. The banter between Hazel and Ben with a forbidden love definitely kept me on my toes, hoping the Wolves would be able to accept Ben and give Hazel the proper place she deserved.
I highly recommend the full Betting Blind series and continuing to book three if you have read the previous two. Not only does the story continue with more sexy scenes and heart pounding drama, but each book has a growth of its own and being able to read Beeson’s own growth in her writing is no disappointment. Especially by Waging War, I can tell she wasn’t holding back and that’s why this one is my favorite of the series.
Hot Damn! This series was so much more than I bargained for when I began it! Waging War wraps up the suspense and drama from Betting Blind and Dealing Dirty while also exploring the seriously steamy relationship between Ben and Hazel.
Ben, a mob-enforcer, is assigned to watch Hazel, the daughter of a biker boss, while she is held captive. There are many players and agendas in this final book and Loren wraps it all up spectacularly while also peeling the layers back on Ben and Hazel. This may be my favorite couple of the series... it is definitely the one with the most drama and steam!
Even as a Beta read, this is an amazing book. It's not a standalone though so If you haven't read Betting Blind or Dealing Dirty I don't recommend starting here. Waging War is the finale in this Romantic suspense trilogy and it is haaaaaaawt. The spiciest one yet and the darkest. Hazel and Ben both have some demons on their past and they have a lot to deal with and because of that it's my favourite of the series. A+ Loren! I love me some Ben and Hazel
