This volume comprises a sequence of chapters covering most of the techniques employed in modern stability analysis of nonlinear models. Techniques covered will include phase plane analysis, bifurcation theory, weakly nonlinear analysis, numerical diagnostics for chaos, and functional analytic method. The techniques will be introduced and employed in the context of diverse real-world problems drawn from a large number of fields including fluid and solid mechanics, electromagnetic and plasma wave propagation, mathematical ecology and mathematical biology.
