Do you want to encourage your kids to develop life-changing prayer habits?
It's never too early to instill a passion for prayer in your child. Pete Greig is a worldwide authority and the face of a generation when it comes to prayer. While you might expect him to be lofty and hard to understand, he is basically just a normal guy who really, really loves talking with God. Based on his original book How to Pray, this children's version has been adapted in a language and style that kids can easily understand and relate to.
Full of whimsical illustrations and fun, practical activities, How to Pray: A Guide for Young Explorers will help your child develop a deeper understanding of and appreciation for prayer. Kids ages 8-11 will learn about the life-changing practice of talking to God every day as Greig explains prayer in profound yet easy-to-understand ways.
Teach your child the life-giving and life-changing power of prayer so that they can experience the amazing gift of talking with the God of the universe.
Pete Greig is the bewildered founder of the 24-7 Prayer movement which has spread into more than half the nations on earth.
He is also the Senior Pastor of Emmaus Rd, Guildford, Ambassador for the NGO Tearfund, and an Associate Tutor at St Mellitus Theological College, London.
His latest book, ‘How to Pray: A Simple Guide for Normal People’ is a companion volume to The Prayer Course (www.prayercourse.org), which has been downloaded more than a million times. His previous title, ‘Dirty Glory’, was UK Christian Book of the year in 2017.
He preaches and teaches around the world and co-hosts two British festivals: Wildfires and the Big Church Day Out which attracts 30,000 people each year.
Pete’s passions include T.S. Eliot, Portsmouth F.C. and ‘Little Mo’, a 1964 Morris Minor convertible which he has lovingly restored by hand.
Initially only intending to skim through to check the theology presented before handing it over to my 10 year old, I ended up reading the entire thing in just a few hours. I had never heard of the author, but now I have a few of his books added to my TBR list!
This was packed with great information, practical implementation strategies, and helpful examples of real kids and adults, and it is all presented in a way that would be appealing for a kid to read. I would say this could be good for ages 8-14, as a general rule- but then again, I'm 34 and I enjoyed it and found it really helpful!
I really liked it because sometimes I don't pray because I don't know what to say but it inspired me to pray more. And even though it is about praying it still had loads of funny bits in.
Pete Grieg gives young people the ultimate guide in how to praise and pray to God. Lots of diagrams and pictures meant it was easy to interpret. I would recommend this book to children 8+, who are looking to find out more about God.
Loved going through this as a family! This book is a great resource (for children and adults) on the gift, practice and perspective of prayer. It’s filled with inspiring testimonies and creative ideas that encourage prayer.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A wonderful book. Read in just under two hours with a little note taking. Such great language and ideas for introducing and continuing prayer with children!
Written for kids, but a great read for parents and kids team leaders.
