Pretty Thoughts is the much anticipated collection of poetry and prose following Cindy Cherie's debut release Confessions of Her . Cindy returns with her signature confessional-style storytelling uniquely touching on themes of love, loss, mental health, self-worth and healing.
I was born with my heart in my mind and I don’t know any other way of surviving it other than to take all this pain and make it look pretty.
This author got on my radar last year after I learned about her in a DV/SA survivor group. Cindy is a survivor too, and her work moved me in a way I hadn’t been affected before. I knew whatever else she published would find home with me somehow, so I finally got my hands on her newest book.
It explores ideas of sadness, healing, confusion, and hope. Definitely will be a cherished title on my bookshelf.
Loved her first but this felt like there were repeats. Many of the new poems were good. Don't think I felt the emotion behind the poems nearly as much in this one but I still enjoyed it for a quick read.
