Marriage Mistake #4

Un marito quasi per caso

Rate this book

meh

this was a bog standard romance. girl gets inheritance from grandfather, money grubbing mom is pissed off that she gets nothing. girl enters into fake marriage to be able to keep said inheritance.

this was fine. it wasn't anything particularly special or magical. i thought the smutty scenes were kind of lacking... not in description or anything just in general steam and excitement. i thought the author did a decent job trying to get the reader to care about the characters but they still didn't grab my attention much.

i think what made this especially lackluster was the build up of tension between the main character and her mother was sort of never addressed at the end. like the mom has some epiphany and stops treating her kid like shit. and while the sentiment is nice, i can't see that really happening irl. i wish there had been a true confrontation so we could see our main character buck up a little bit.

this is one where if the synopsis sounds like it'll interest you, go for it. it's certainly not a bad read. and i'm glad i picked it up because i see this author plastered across my Kindle Unlimited all the time. but it didn't really entice me to read more from her.

This book is the best of this series. All of this series is full of a heroes who is strong, alpha male and loves fiercely. Drake is the best of them all.

The romance is steamy hot. So hot that it makes me blush listening the audio book. I listen to it while I am at work, mind you. The funny sexy banters are very hot foreplay. I also like how Miss Snow blends perfectly the politic of office, power, romance and suspense. It is a perfect combination. The characters also develop very well. Their chemistry is build slowly through their development. There is insta lust but the love is blooming through the story.

I also like how the secondary characters also have complex aspect on it. Even the evil mother is not as evil as we think she is. I especially love Jonah. He is the mastermind of them all.

Overall this is a very good book.

I love this series of fake/accident marriages!!

This one was an okay one it had lots of secrets, some lies & some parents you wanna stab at first.

Annabelle has had a tough day her grandpa died, the one member of her family who cared for her, and has left her everything even the amazing horse edison (i loveEd)!!! And that doesn't sit well with her greedy family.  Her grandpa also left her his "old" army friend Drake. I did at first had mix feelings about Drake for one thing the secrets and the lie.. the lie he made belle sign a marriage license without her knowing to keep her safe thanks to her grandfather (yeah ugh grandpa wtf man) he explained to belle why they had to be married and it was her grandpa's last wish he also has a agenda for this marriage, I'm glad belle did ignore and get angry at what they did wish it lasted longer but problems happened, with kidnapping, evil dragon guy, and sexualllll tension ready to exploded between them.

My problem with belle was she let her parents boss her around alot i was happy she grew a backbone and finally stood up for herself. Also disappointed no epilogue:/

Low agnst, no ow/om drama, no cheating, sexy times, secondary charas, Drama, not a manwhore & virgin gal

Recommend- maybe

Accidentally wed to a screaming hot stranger.

I inherited a freaking husband.
Grandpa's will was a shocker: huge fortune, gorgeous ranch, and the best horse ever.
The fine print? Marrying Mr. Grump-alicious.
The man who's supposed to protect me from...what, exactly?
That's what I hope to find out if Drake Larkin ever talks.

I know what I'm in for the first time his glance tears me open.
A broody enigma who's large and in charge.
A mute who curls my toes when he barks a few words.
A silly, shameful, is-this-real-life crush I can't afford.

Did I mention our pretend marriage-rodeo lasts six damn months?
Long enough to teach my heart cartwheels.
Time enough to seal this madness with a kiss.
Insane enough for secrets to slip – and sting.

Grandpa's last wishes scare me. So do Drake's real motives.
But it's my beast of a “husband” who makes ridiculous seem right.
Have I found my knight?
Does love have a prayer when life throws us a dragon?

From Wall Street Journal bestselling author Nicole Snow – a mistake meant to be. One moody alpha slayer gives his all to rustle up the damsel of his dreams. Full length romance novel with a heartwarming Happily Ever After.

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

Bella has spent her twenty four years trying to please her parents only to always disappoint them at every turn, the only person she has ever been able to count on was her Grandfather, but now he has gone and left her everything much to the disgust of her parents. With a few stipulations of course, one she has to live on the ranch for six months oh and don’t forget the husband he has acquired for her! But Bella is in danger and gramps knew the best way to protect her was Drake. Bella faces a danger that she is unprepared for and a love she never expected along the way, will Drake be able to keep Bella safe from the sinister plans by the very people who should protect her?

Drake is ex-military who has been down on his luck when he met and befriended Jonah. After everything he did to help him how could he say no when he asked him to guard his greatest treasure Bella. Drake becomes her protector and husband and it’s not long before he wants to do that forever but can he really keep her safe from the danger surrounding her and could this marriage be more than either of them ever considered?

I loved these two characters they were just meant to be from the beginning, as with all of Nicole Snow books you will have sizzling chemistry, intrigue, danger and an amazing story, throw in a horse named Edison and you are on to a winner. Honestly such a fab read I cannot recommend it highly enough. 5 Shining stars.

When buying a book by its cover sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Alas, I did not win with this book. I gave it the old college try, I really did but I frequently found myself wandering to other places; games, Twitter, Huffington Post, Impractical Jokers on YouTube, many, many places except for the book. So at 70% I just gave up trying. There have been some great book deals lately and I was getting antsy to start reading some of them and I was into about day 5 of this one so…..
I hate getting this far and not finishing but the book just wasn’t doing it for me. I found Annabelle, our heroine, way to spineless, especially when dealing with her parents. The mother in particular was over the top villainess and I grew impatient with Annabelle not standing up and telling her mother to hit the road.

I wasn’t won over by Drake either. He wasn’t bad starting off but then it became way too much mental lusting to the point where I’m thinking enough already, yes we get it, she makes you hard enough to pound nails with the particular body part that’s giving you issues. The “I lust for you, I want you, I ache to have you but I can’t because I live with such guilt” became tiresome.
And I just didn’t ‘feel’ the chemistry between them. Lust yes, but vibes like I’ve read in other books I’ve read and loved, no.

I’m glad I tried the book as the author has a large back list and there was potential for lots of books, but now I know this author’s style just isn’t my cuppa.

It seems she has a lot of fans and I’m always glad to see that for an author even if I’m not one because I admire the heck out of writers. Ms. Snow is following her dream so I truly give that to her.
It’s not that I found this book bad or unreadable or anything negative, it’s more I have so many books to read and not enough time as it is that I don’t want to lose time reading something I know, for me, the enjoyment isn’t going to grow.

When Bella's grandfather passes away she inherits more then she expected. Her parents have never had much interest in Bella other then to push her to do what they wanted but after she loses his grandfather she finds out he shielded her from quite a bit. When she heads to his house that she just inherited she finds Drake Larkin. Drake has secrets that he is keeping from Bella but it is all to protect her. With her parents making a play and Drake a new addition in her life can she really trust him?

This was good and a surprise. I was not sure where the story would lead with Bella and Drake but it was a fun time reading how it unfolded. I liked Drake, he was intriguing and the way his part in the story was told was fantastic. Great read.

This is the second book that I have read from Nicole Snow and I absolutely loved this story. Drake and Bella stole my heart. They were the perfect couple that were brought together by her grandpa. They had to work around some issues that could derail their relationship but they were able to overcome and have the life they deserved and that was all thanks to Bella’s grandpa. He knew what he was doing. This story will leave you wanting more when you are done, I know it did for me. I can’t wait to read more from her.

Drake is quite the confident man, "if you have my famous steak and hash browns, you’ll fill up on your own damn words. Last night, I didn’t know if you were hungry or not. I’m as good a chef as I am a lay, woman.” Drake is one enthusiastic man, “hot effin’ damn! Darlin’, you know I’ll hold you to it. A hundred kisses, right the hell now.” I liked this book, I loved Drake.

For Bella, grandpa Jonah meant love and stability and now that he's gone, that's gone too. Bella is surprised to learn that her grandpa has left her everything. And I mean everything. The ranch and an oil company worth billions all belong to Bella instead of her money hungry already wealthy parents...But there are a few stipulations. Mr. Larkin. Bella assumes Mr. Larkin is an old army buddy of her grandpa who occasionally helped him with the ranch, but old, he is not. Mr.Larkin, Drake, is ex-miliary, muscled and tatted. And Bella's new husband.
Drake settles in as Bella's protector, champion and husband because running a company as huge as North Earhart Oil is no easy task, but it is easy making enemies. Now more than ever, Jonah's death means there is an opportunity for one or more to plan a take over of the company. One in particular may have criminal ties.
OMG ! YOU HAVE GOT TO READ THIS BOOK ! ! ! LOTS OF ACTION, SURPRISES AND AN UNLIKELY HERO ! ! ! A GREAT STORY WITH AMAZING CHARACTERS FORCED TOGETHER BY A COMMON GOAL, ONLY TO REALIZE THEY CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT EACH OTHER 💕 INTOXICATING, UNDENIABLE ATTRACTION AND A FOREVER LOVE💖

Ew, no. I like a fake marriage/marriage of convenience trope on occasion, but the male protagonist was so sketchy and gross, with his withholding information.

The writing itself was stilted, and not great, but I was willing to push past it, because sometimes a just fun or sexy romance is enough. The sex scenes though - for me, they read super awkward and just not great.

Because I was already just rolling my eyes through to the end, thinking well, it can't be hokier, the characters ended waxing poetic about how they could have twelve kids and however many years together and they would always feel this hot for each other. I get it, we don't want to imagine that relationships change over time, but really, that was sort of the last straw with this one for me.

A lot of the trope-y, small, prevalent in romance issues that I might ignore if I'm mostly enjoying a book, seemed like they ALL got tossed in here. The best bit of it was the horse that had Harry Potter owl powers.

3 stars. Kick August 2019 BOTM

It was good but mostly ok. It did get me to get all tears eyed though at certain parts. But I really dislike when authors ramp up the end and get less detailed. Like ok I’m Goldilocks of description but I like description to a point, but I dislike when we start flossing over events to speed up to end the book.

The author has the h mention things being like a novel or book entirely too much it was annoying after a bit.

I wanted to get the flash forward book, but I didn’t want to have to input my email. It wasn’t bad but I didn’t need to hurry and read the book quick.

Her mom - she had a 180 and that for some reason bugged me. I just don’t know if that’s believable due to how she was, but whatever not a huge deal.

Accidental Knight is a phenomenally, heart-stopping journey full of danger, hope, and love. This story will run away with your heart as it leaves your mind reeling and captivates your very soul. I devoured all of the mystery and intrigue that flows from these precious pages. Nothing gets my blood pumping more then a wonderful romantic suspense, and this one left my heart overflowing with pure and unadulterated love and hope. I had such a hard time putting this book down because it completely obliterated my own life from my mind and allowed me to sink into this wonderful world where the characters will charm you into the next county and the sizzling plot will have you fanning yourself before long.

Bella is determined to get one thing right in her life. She will protect her grandfather’s legacy by abiding by his will. In order to do that she has to force herself to do what she has never done – stand up to her parents. Can losing the one person who genuinely cared about her give her the courage to do the unthinkable? She isn’t sure how this mess will end, but she knows it will forever change her life. She just needs to remember to breathe along the way. Drake has watched his life crumble around him. He has seen the evil this world is capable of nurturing, and he refuses to allow to continue. Under his watch, he will fight to protect and shelter those in need of help. He will do anything to make up for his past mistakes even agree to a crazy plan by a goof friend. Nothing is out of bounds when it comes to keeping those around him safe. Can these two find any common ground when their own personal hells threaten to overtake and destroy everything in its path? Will the sun shine once again after the sinister evil hunting them lays waste to all in its wake?

I never fail to marvel and walk away in awe at the gorgeous and unforgettable characters that Nicole Snow never fails to create for her readers. They are not much different then us, and that makes their struggle that much more real and our feelings for them that much more overwhelming. They are precious people who deserve the best out of life and instead we find them floundering looking for some peace and shelter amidst their storm. When you together bring two people desperate for a deep and real connection, you find hope and possibility and above all you find the promise of an unwavering foundation. Those are the basic building blocks to a brilliant story. The potential is screaming your name if you only have the courage to challenge and mold your characters into the incredible potential that is just out of reach.

My words will always fall short of the boundless wonder and immense creativity that lives within this fabulous author. She is a true genius of the human heart, and her stories never fail to pull every human emotion from your very soul. You find her molding and shaping you each time you allow the quiet whispers of her books to invade your mind and overtake your heart. There is nothing more precious, more powerful, and more pertinent then allowing our hearts to feel, our minds to wander, and our souls to evolve. This is true power. This is honest revelation. This is true purpose.

4.5 Stars - Following Your Heart

She never though her Knight would be wearing a flannel and work boots. He was her protector, but soon enough he would become her everything.

Her grandfather’s unexpected death rocks the foundation of her whole world. Everyone has a secret that has affected her entire life. Some have more than one. Bella is going to have to find out the truths and she’ll have to decide whether to follow her head or her heart.

Her grandfather was such an important part of her life. His death left her with a whole new life because she became his sole heir. Nothing tears family apart faster than money. Bella’s parents aren’t about to accept being cut off from the family inheritance. And there are vultures just waiting to pounce.

However, her grandfather was a smart man and expected and planned for the worst. Drake Larkin was employed first as a handyman, but then became a friend. Eventually he became security and a confidante. All that led Drake to become Bella’s friend and protector upon her grandfather’s death.

Buckle up for a crazy ride! This story had wonderful characters, including an old horse that you can’t help but love. The suspense and deceit is plentiful and will keep you constantly working to figure out everyone’s motives. I was sucked right in from the beginning and couldn’t wait to find out how it all came together. Bella and Drake had amazing chemistry and an unconventional love story! This story will steal your heart!

Vedo quanto i suoi occhi siano blu.

Snella in tutti i punti giusti e formosa dove serve.

Story was great, sex scenes were ruined.

There’s so much goodness in this story, I’m so annoyed that I can’t give it 5 stars...I’ll get to that, but let’s go over all the good stuff.

Bella has come home after a bunch of career disasters to deal with the aftermath of her grandfathers death...and all the machinations the old man put in place to put her in charge after his passing. She’s smart, strong and even tho she’s been bullied by her parents for most of her life, she’s finding her backbone with Drake giving her strength and confidence. And the fact she was a virgin, and will only belong to Drake is the cherry on top. (Heh!)

Drake’s story is complicated—lots of dark demons in his past, an army vet trying to do right and bring to justice a monster who killed his best friend. He found himself at the Ranch, helping the old man out when he was broken and had nothing else. He’s growly, gruff and the ultimate protector, having vowed to keep Bella safe. And that means marrying her.

The story was extremely well written. And very funny in parts, with an old horse named Edison, who was more crafty than an preschool teacher and part dog.

The characters were also fleshed out, had depth and nuance. The writing was fast paced and descriptive.

I would’ve given this book 5 stars except for one tiny, horrible thing that completely destroyed the intimacy and connection in the “love scenes” and that was condom use. Ughhhhh. NO. condom use is always a NO NO in romance novels—its an act of separation between the H and h and in this case it was TOTALLY UNNECESSARY as the h was on the pill. WHYYYY?!

Not to mention, that towards the end of the story, the H even alludes to the fact that having sex without a rubber the h was heavenly. So does that mean the previous sex scenes, including the one where he took her virginity, WASNT heavenly? That that piece of rubber prevented them from fully connecting and feeling and being united?

Bottom line, condom use isn’t sexy or romantic and it only cheapens the scenes and settles a barrier—quite literally—between H and h that takes away from the intimacy and the emotional and physical connection between them.

❤️🌼🔥LOVED ACCIDENTAL KNIGHT❤️🌼🔥
Annabelle (Bella) Reed loved her Gramps, and the feeling was entirely mutual.....With absentee parents, Gramps, who was very wealthy, pretty much raised Bella.....Gramps dies, and leaves EVERYTHING to Bella...Her bratty parents aren’t happy, and me, I want to take a hit out on them....One of Gramps’ conditions in his will: Bella has to live on the farm she loves so much, for 6 months....so Bella goes home....and not just because Gramps has an airtight will.....Bella has always loved her Gramps’ farm, but when she arrives at the farm, she sees she is not going to be living alone....Gramps has thought of EVERYTHING .......❤️🌼🔥
Drake Larkin is ex military, and has been faithfully, taking care of Jonah Reed and his farm in his last four years....Jonah trusts Drake more than his own son, so, Jonah has entrusted Drake with Jonah’s most valuable asset (Bella)..........Drake is a very important part of the plan, Gramps put in place for Bella’s safety and security....from her parents or anyone else who comes after her........And they do.......❤️🌼🔥
I loved ACCIDENTAL KNIGHT......I have loved all of the “Accidental” books. by Nicole Snow.....I think one of my favorite parts of ACCIDENTAL KNIGHT, is the reunion between Bella and Edison....it put tears in my eyes....And his post-it notes everywhere.......But, it’s Nicole Snow, so you know it’s a hot book and a great story......❤️🌼🔥

Cute, could have been better

3 stars is stretching it as high as I could go on this one.
Had the heroine made better decisions and not been such a push over, I’d have liked it better.
The grandfather sounded awesome. Loved all the post it notes he left for Bella.
Drake was great sounding. I liked how attentive he was and his behavior towards Bella.
Edison the horse was an awesome edition.
I enjoyed the country setting.
The heroine, Bella, or Annabelle or Amelia or Bella Bell...GEEZ what was up with all the names for her and people using different ones. Super annoying!
I hate how she let her horrible mother control her up until the book kicks off.
She seems stupid at times, but other times she doesn’t.
I HATED how her ridiculous behavior and stupid decision almost kills her horse. Yet, she still makes a stupid choice even when she sees him running after her. I lost all faith and respect for this heroine then. Especially since she wasn’t even running from anything worth running from. And her answer when something is tough it to run. How immature. Stay and talk and figure it out. But she’s all she needs a moment and space....why?! You don’t even have all the details yet!

Otherwise than the heroine, it was a cute book.

Gahhhh, so freaking good! I am a HUGE freaking fan of Nicole Snow and when I received word that Accidental Knight was releasing soon, I was so excited. The Accidental series is freaking prime and this book was excellent.

The story line was completely fresh, you have heard about Accidental Marriage, but never inheriting a husband. The reasons were pretty justified, but it is still going to be a shock and that is putting it lightly with how Bella felt once she found. The fact that her husband is a freaking behemoth of a man that is not exactly talkative was also an interesting find.

Bella just lost her grandfather which not only greatly saddened her, but also makes her an instant heiress that inherited his fortune and company and problems. Drake Larkin is to help with those problems and he is such an enigma. This strong passionate man has his own reasons for agreeing to this farce, which is pretty deep and separate but also entwined with Bella.

If you like books that have a lot of depth with strong women and intense broody-licous men, you will absolutely love this book! 5 outta 5 stars from me!

I received this book as an ARC but am voluntarily and honestly reviewing it.

Honestly, love love LOVED this book. So many feels, so many twists and just so much love. It’s literally a book filled with so much nostalgia, pain and heartache and I have no regrets getting lost in their world. This book definitely left a lasting impression on me. One of my favourites ever for sure. I definitely recommend this one.

Complete the mission. But buckle up, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride.

Excellent read.
It starts with the passing of Jonah Reed, the man who bankrolled his son, his daughter in law and his granddaughter.
Annabelle “Bella” Reed is 24 and has just inherited all her grandfathers wealth, ranch, oil company and horse, Edison. Can I just say Edison was one of my favorite characters? Smarter, too. Oh, and a husband by proxy, she was tricked into signing for.

Drake Larkin is a tatted, potty mouthed military man on multiple missions. Protect Bella from her parents and a Dragon.

Can he accomplish his missions?
And get the girl?

Incredibly fast paced, funny, action packed with a dash of suspense.
Highly recommend.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

OMG! I loved this book. This story was so different from any other marriage mistake book I’ve read to date, I was sucked in, captivated and sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the other shoe to drop. Bella and Drake were so good together, her protector, her husband, her lover. Deliciously hot, sexy, chemistry off the charts yummy! When Bella comes home for her gramps funeral, she learns that he’s left her everything and it’s a fight to the death with her parents, well her money hungry mother. Drake is with her every step of the way and when she finds out what gramps has done she’s less than thrilled for about a minute! No spoilers here, I loved it, one of my favs of this authors so far. Highly recommend it!

Accidental Knight by Nicole Snow a five-star read that will save you. I am a huge fan of this author, but this one, this one just seemed more special to me for some reason. Drake and Bella have a chemistry that will surprise you, Jonah was a great character, and he has such a power even though he isn’t around anymore. This was a bumpy thrilling ride of a story that will blow you away.
