The ImagiNation Project is a remarkable book. A world-class collection of eighteen imaginative short stories, handpicked from ten countries and six continents, spanning a diverse set of styles and genres, it is a vibrant journey of pure reading pleasure.
But it is more than just a good book. It is also a smart social venture with an underlying mission – to make things better with every sale that we make. We are donating 60% of our net sales proceeds, after costs and taxes, to three good causes.
The House Group, an inspirational children's home which provides a safe haven to abused, abandoned and destitute girls in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The WILDTRUST, an accomplished South African environmental NPO which protects, conserves and restores threatened ecosystems and species, on land and at sea.
The PDSA of South Africa, a heart-warming animal welfare charity which provides a veterinary service to animals from poor communities in Cape Town, George and Soweto, South Africa.
We love good books and have scoured the globe for the most imaginative fiction out there. Our stories are beautiful, clever, sad, funny, mysterious and bitter-sweet, each one superb in a different way, a world-class collection of outstanding fiction.
Our writers come from ten countries and six continents – Argentina, Australia, England, India, Jamaica, New Zealand, Nigeria, Scotland, South Africa, Trinidad & Tobago and the USA.

Story Exchange’s first book - The ImagiNation Project - is a world-class collection of eighteen imaginative short stories, handpicked from ten countries and six continents, and published in support of three wonderful South African NPO’s, each doing amazing work for child welfare, nature conservation and animal welfare respectively.
Ettienne has sourced a superb collection of stories for The ImagiNation Project, from a diverse mix of best-selling authors and high potential emerging authors, and contributed three of his own stories to the collection (The Legend of Devil’s Peak, Nine Lives and A Sting in the Tail).
Ettienne lives in Cape Town, South Africa, and is working on the second book in The ImagiNation Project series.
Three of the stories in this book are mine so I am reviewing the other fifteen... That said, I really did enjoy them all - clever, imaginative and unique. A mixed bag of styles and genres, very nicely done. My favorites were A Tiny Feast (clever), Lorry Raja (haunting) and Other People (my favorite Neil Gaiman story ever). Even though I have a dog in the race here, I think it's a great book and am rating it objectively.
Loved this collection of short stories and really enjoyed reading it. A great weekend or holiday read, with each short story taking you on a new and interesting journey. It’ll make a great gift for friends too. Simply awesome.
