Southern boy Dash Newhouse drifts from one mountain to the next, chasing the snowfall. Paired for ski patrol rescue with an unstable first responder, I’m doubtful fortune is shining down on me.
Then one thing leads to *cough* a perfectly irrational hookup that’s hot enough to melt the snow.
Dash’s joie de vivre reminds me that I can’t live life to the fullest while playing it safe. And I can’t deny that his wanderlust doesn’t appeal to me as much as his rock hard abs. But will his antics help me navigate a steady new peak?

Oh my god! There is so much I LOVED about this story. It's by far my favorite by Jody. I was lucky enough to get this as an ARC and I was forced to put it down a couple of times and it seriously made me want to throat punch people. This is a fun, short read with amazing character development. Plus, there is a hairless cat. I LOVE hairless cats!! My heart goes out to Kat, she has some issues to get through after her parents devoice. Which is understandable. It something so many people go through. In walks Dash, swoon worthy ski dude. Gosh, this story was everything I wanted. Steamy, fun, great banter and a freaking hairless cat! I mean come on, what else could you want?
Loved it, loved it, loved it. Jody creates loveable characters that stick with readers long after the book is over. Dash is a new book boyfriend. He is sweet, sexy, funny, caring... he has it all. The descriptions of the scenery made me feel like I was right there hanging out with them. I was angry when it was finished. Great job.
This was a super little read the storyline was really good and a lot of fun and I just loved Dash he is a good likable funny sweet guy whereas Kat is a little closed off, this was a great addition to the series but can be read on its own it was a good fun book that had me laughing out loud.
It’s a quickie that’s delivering all the feels. I’m intrigued by the honesty of the hero and the way the guy lives his life to the max. Moving around from peak to peak, always looking for new adventures. But he’s not careless about other people’s feelings and he’s capable of doing a serious relationship.
I don’t have a clue about the lifestyle and relate more to the heroine. But it’s making me wanna open up to risk taking and living in the moment. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and want more.
This book was amazing and I wasn’t ready for it to end!!! It was so good, I was reading during my daughter’s field events...sshh, don’t tell her. Jody Kaye has made the growing list of my favorite authors. Kat and Dash were polar opposites but they helped each other move past baggage that they had been carrying. Plenty to keep me engrossed, even a little teary. Hey, don’t judge me!!! Soooo ready for the next one!!

This was a cute and quick read about a carefree spirit Dash who I absolutely fell in love with as soon as we meet him. He is a laid back, go with the flow kind of person, and there are so many rumors out there about him because of this attitude and Kat falls into one of those who judges a book. Kat was a tough and amazing character but the way she hated to be judged she could be judge mental of others from time to time. Dash was a beautiful souls who taught Kat it was ok to go with the flow and love in the moment and Kat started to learn more about herself with the help of Dash.
My first read by this author, great read ! Ski slopes and rescuers !! Kat is trying to understand her parents recent divorce and new ski rescuer sees this and helps her getting over it!! Take a chance on this great book!!
Going Down by Jody Kaye. This one is the ski patrol one and this also includes a hairless cat. It’s full of thought provoking ideas on life as well as how to stay positive and keep your wild side. Very enlightening and enjoyable!
The story jumps straight in with the two main characters of the book meeting for the first time. Kat on her way to work, as a first responder at a ski resort and her assigned co-worker for the day, Dash, a member of this seasons team she hasn’t yet worked with.
Dash is an extremely likeable character, open, funny, kind, handsome and can even cook! Kat is harder to get to know, doesn’t trust easily and is generally leary of Dash.
WOW. This book makes you feel highs, with laugh out loud moments, along with lows, that had me shedding a tear. And thought provoking. Had me examining my own attitude to how I deal with life’s daily challenges. Positive Mental Attitude goes along way!
This short story isn’t lacking any of punch of a longer novel. Loved the level of detail squeezed into this story. A snowy winter wonderland, realities of being the adult child of divorced parents and of living in a trailer etc.
A fantastic standalone story that was also lovely to read as a step forward in time from the Kingsbrier Quintuplets series
Already excited at the thought of re-reading. Afraid I’ve missed something in my rush to turn the page.
Received this as an Arc in exchange for an honest review.
So, if you know me, you know how much I adored the Kingsbrier Quintuplets series! Seriously, one of my faves of all times! I was so excited to get my hands on a copy of Dash and Kat's story (Thank you, Jody!!!! 💖)... I truly didn't expect it to hold a candle to the Quints, but how could you go wrong with Drew and Brier's son?! Let's just say that I was literally hooked from the first page! Set on a ski slope in Colorado, both Kat and Dash work ski patrol. I instantly loved Dash's quirky personality and Kat's strength and loyalty! My ONLY complaint is that it is a short story and was over waaaaay too soon! You MUST read this! I promise you won't be disappointed!
I just finished my ARC copy of the book. Although it is a continuation of sorts of the Kingsberry books, this can easily be a stand alone book. Jody‘s writing style took a major jump in this one. The characters, like those in the Kingsbury series, are well-developed and believable. This book has a lot of philosophical issues that are well thought out. I really enjoyed it.
I enjoyed reading the ARC for Going Down. Kat and Dash's short story is a fun, steamy read with the depth of a full-length novel. Great settings, interesting detail, and quirky characters add to the passion. The story reads like a stand-alone, yet gives readers of the Kingsbrier Quintuplets series a peek into the lives of characters they already know and love.
Not just another steamy read (although it is indeed steamy). The storyline had me along for the emotional rollercoaster. Well written and a fun journey to be on.
This was my first time reading any of Jody’s work, and I really enjoyed this book. Kat is a young woman who works at the ski lodge around the year as a patrol medic. She dropped out of college her senior year and she has a hard time trusting. She worries about her father and she feels that she has to be there to take care of him since her parents divorce. When Kat is paired up with Dash a hot medic, she’s upset, because she thinks he’s a joke and doesn’t take anything or anyone serious. Little does she know he’s the opposite. Kat and Dash spend the winter getting to know each until it’s time for him to move on. What happens next will leave you wanting more. I really enjoyed this book and I recommend it to read.
Thank you to Booksprout for a copy to read and give my honest opinion. I really enjoyed this book but this felt like a short read....
What did I like? So much honesty between the couple that I just implode.....boom. They were magnificent.... along with the hairless cat who we must clothe..... Yeek. So everything pretty much happens during a season and the season ends.... so does the relationship. Dash was super fun....
Would I buy or recommend? Yesssssss! This was a short but super fun book. The relationship meets little defiance but it ends in HEA.... so buy ... buy....buy.
This is the first book I have read by this author and I loved it. A book of fear and letting go. Kat is struggling after her parents divorce but what happens when she meets her new partner on the slopes. Dash is always on the move but also outgoing and friendly. I loved their chemistry but what happens he moves on. A must read.

I actually read this book ages ago, when it was a part of the Risking Everything anthology. I love the quints and couldn’t wait to see how Drew and Brier’s son grew up. Jody Kaye did not disappoint. Dash is the quintessential book boyfriend. I loved his heart. Do yourself a favor and go back to the beginning with Eric, and fall in love with the craziest family in Texas.
Going Down was a fantastic read by Jody Kaye. Kat and Dash were simply amazing together despite being so different. Kat is a first responder and she is paired with Dash for the day. This was my first book by Jody Kaye and I will definitely be reading more. If you are looking for a quick and romantic story, this is for you!
I loved the story of Kat and Dash. Dash is a free loving easy going guy. Kat is a bit uptight and slightly miss judge of Dash initially. They are so good together and Dash helps Kat to love in the moment and step out of her comfort zone. It is a short read but perfectly wonderful. This is my first read by Jody Kaye and definitely won't be my last!!
Cat and Dash seem to be exact opposites. Their fall into love is steady a d strong. I love seeing Kat come around to her place in life and to her feelings but all things family and love. These characters are well written and so very likable Dash is an absolute dream.

This was just the lovely escape I needed to read during these strange times. How I wish I could be Dash and Kat and be carefree as ski patrol. Sweet romance. Likable characters and just the ending needed to help me fall asleep with a happy heart. I have looked to see what else this author writes and have fed my kindle a few more.
Great short read! They characters are wonderful. I love how they are so different! And who can't help but love Dash? Lots of passion and well worth reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
This was a hot steamy erotic romance story perfect for a quick afternoon read. A great heart pounding read. The story was very well written with great characters. It drew me in and I had it finished in one sitting. I would highly recommend this read.
I loved how this story played out. Love is found in the snowy depths of a rescue mission. Will it last past the winter? I could not put it down and would recommend it to others!!

Great short read and addition to the series especially with an extremely minor character from the original series! I’m from the area so I loved that she took this one out of Texas and up to New England!
I liked Dash & Kat's story. Good characters. Love Dash!! This was a quick, entertaining read. I received a free copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
