The Reapings Serial #2

Hidden in the Shadows

Rate this book
Well, I survived my first week at Sacred Shields.

Professor Hankins is a walking, talking contradiction. I hope Professor Mountcastle is as sweet as she looks, and Professor Pembre is, well, cool as hell. Jaques, on the other hand, is the devil incarnate. I legitimately might die in Grim Defense Training.

Then there’s The Dark Prince. Who knew I’d ever meet someone actually worthy of that name? I thought Nikos was an asshole before, but he’s only gotten worse.

Oh! Remember the secret I mentioned before? Yeah, well, let’s just say I got lucky.

This time.

At this rate, Ty is going to have a coronary at the age of nineteen and the brokenness that has prevented me from leading a normal life all of these years might just win out.

A girl can only handle so much, and with mean girls and raging alpha-dongs around every corner, keeping up at Sacred Shields is going to be far more challenging than I could ever have imagined.

Hidden in the Shadows is book two of this mini-series starring Matilda & Mathias Graves, twin-tastic reapers with the weight of the worlds on their shoulders. New Releases will be published each month for the duration of the series.

I love Graves. I love that she pushes when others wouldn’t , that she stands up for her brother, and that she’s easily scandalized. She is learning so much at school, and she’s been pretty sheltered it seems because of her secret.

It’s hard to make friends when you’re worried about what you may say or not, but slowly she is making her way and meeting people….even if some of those people are judgey about what kind of Reaper others are. I love her nicknames for people, and the fact that she’s growing so much.

I can’t wait to read more.

Would I love this serial to be a series of full length novels - yes, but then I'd have way longer to wait for the next installment.

The books are short, but knowing it's only a month until the next bit does take the sting out.

I'm so intrigued with where this is going. I love trying to work out the little mysteries.

Another fantastic read

Loving this series of short stories. I put one down and the next one is up.

I’m loving the build up within each book and am still desperate to find out Graves’ secret! I totally need to know what it is. And the prince of darkness uhhh what is his problem?

Heading to book 3 now!
