The book I read was The Pact, I’d already read The Split some time before.
This was such a good plot. Six friends, one not quite so well to do as the others, meet all through the summer at Talitha’s house, swimming in her pool and staying in the summerhouse, partying. Late one night they decide to drive a car the wrong way down an A road, which they then proceed to do another four times until the last time, they cause an accident where a mother and her two children die.
The not so well to do girl takes the blame for the accident. She thinks she’ll get a dangerous driving conviction but ends up doing long than anticipated in prison. Before she takes the blame, all the friends make a pact that when she gets out of prison, they are to repay her with a ‘favour’ on her release.
Now she’s out of prison and wants her ‘favours’……..
Full of twists and turns, it gathers momentum quickly and the plot ensures it keeps you on the edge of your seat for an amazing read. I couldn’t put the book down. One I wish I could read and enjoy again as if I’d only just picked it up…..
Loved it, Sharon Bolton is a great storyteller.
