Devil's Soldiers MC #1

The Devil's Goddess

Rate this book
SAGE:
How does this stuff keep happening to me? First it was my cheating ex and the—uhhhh—“accident” that had everyone in town calling me crazy. Now, I’ve moved to a completely different state, and what have I done? I dropped right into another problem. This time though, it’s not a cheating ex, it’s the Russian Mob. To make matters worse, I now have to live with the son of my landlords, who are part of the Devil’s Soldiers MC, who is a smart-mouthed, arrogant, jerk. I don’t care how hot he is, I’m not about to make his life easy. Except, the chemistry between us is out of this world, and now he’s the only one that seems to be able to save me from the mob that’s hot on my tail.

KING:
She is the most irritating woman I’ve ever met. How the hell have I gotten wrapped up in being her bodyguard/roommate? I mean, we can barely stand each other, she’s crazy, and now I have to be around her twenty-four/seven. I’m talking worse than my mother crazy. Do we have chemistry? Oh yeah, but I don’t have time for that brand of insanity. The Russian Mob is after her for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and I need to keep her safe. So why am I constantly allowing myself to think about her in all the ways I shouldn’t?

I live in New Brunswick, Canada with my husband and our two dogs,
Remi and Sako (pronounced Say-co). When I’m not writing, I’m
playing fetch with the dogs, talking to my parents for endless amounts
of hours, annoying the crap out of my husband, or just enjoying life
with my friends.
Writing has been a part of my life since I was about 12. I started
out just writing short stories or silly knock-offs of my favorite shows
or movies. Soon, though, I realized just how much I loved to write.
How often my mind would wander and think of characters and where
they could go. They became real to me, and I would start to write. I
used to fill up notebooks and pads of paper when I got an idea. It
would be an obsession, almost, to get on paper. Then, when I was old
enough to have a computer, I started there.
Now, I’m 28 years old and I finally hit that button. The one that
I’ve thought about it over and over again for the past 16 years. There is
no greater joy, or fear, at realizing you’ve just accomplished something
that you’ve wanted to do for so very long. That is my greatest accomplishment
and I look forward to hitting that button on many more.

The characters in this one were all irritating and you know when a book thinks it’s making a strong woman with a sense of humour and it just comes across as annoying - well this is that. Not a fan

Writing as I read. 9 chapters in and I'm bored. I think it could turn out to be a good book. This is an enemies-to-lover's romance. For this to be the start of a new series, it has too many characters. It's almost as if you should have read other books before this. This makes the story hard to follow and stay interested.

I really liked Sage, but the sniping between her and King got old real fast for me. I thought that they might quit when they started having sex, but nope, it still happened, heck it was happening until the last page of the book.

This book did have some great scenes. Like all the women getting arrested and then getting grounded, while many of the members kept saying they needed to set up a bail fund. Like when Sage told all the MC guys how about how "she" broke her ex's dick, sure, if you leave out some bits, but still funny! Like Sage's friend bringing her devil dogs. Like Sage with romance book covers and a cut out of a certain model, which honestly was the best one yet!

I do find myself intrigued by the mole. I have my guess on who it is and hate to the the havoc they will continue to wreak. I hope they are found out soon!

I was thoroughly disappointed in this book. The main characters bickered. Not the flirting kind. The obnoxious kind. And the fact that it was constant throughout the book until the last bit where he randomly decides "she's his" left me confused because they have zero chemistry and no relationship or character building. The only reason I read this book is because the second one in the series looked interesting from tik Tok. I'm seriously praying the second one isn't anything like this one. And that the characters actually have chemistry. Also I am absolutely shocked by the high rating this book received. Not to be mean. Anyways on to the one I wanted to read.

Sage needed to get out of her hometown, half of the people were afraid of her now that she had an incident with ex-boyfriend has them all talking. Moving to a new town she immediately is taken with her new landlords, one of whom is the President of the Devil's Soldiers MC. His son King though ticks her off from the get go. Heads continue to butt between them but when Sage inadvertently puts herself in danger with the Mob, King steps up to protect her. The more King is in Sage's presence the more he has a feeling he is not going to be able to let her go. Will Sage be willing to trust King enough to give him a chance?

This was entertaining. Sage finds herself in danger but she is so set on taking care of herself she makes some bad decisions. Has some really funny laugh out loud moments.

Didn’t like the main female character. She annoyed me within the first few pages of the book, and proceeded to have some of the most childish arguments with main male character who also was not very likable. I don’t even remember their names they were that annoying and I wanted to forget I read this book. The broken Penis joke got old fast, and honestly she was one of the most annoying characters I have ever read in a book.

I get that being called “crazy” was Kings endearment, but man, did it get old quick. We get it. Near the end I was over the banter between these two. We at least got our HEA.

Brilliant!!!

There are not many books that hit the mark on everything I enjoy while reading- this book is one of the ones that does! There is the perfect combination of everything…humor, back and forth, lust, (the steam is off the charts hot) and suspense that kept me flipping the pages.

Sage is ‘a delight’ IYKYK..but she isn’t going to be for everyone at the start- that woman is fierce and maybe just a little crazy 😉 she needs no one- she’s fiercely independent and protective of herself.

King is sex on legs and he’s a very very close second to Talon for me ( if you don’t know Talon I highly recommend you check out Honor & Ink - also by this author) and that’s saying a lot coming from me. He is the perfect alpha-roll. He’s a dirty talking bad boy with a soft inside. He is protective and loves his family with everything he has.

The plot in this story flows nicely, keeps the reader engaged as the characters develop throughout. I am very eager for this series to continue.

I liked the writing of this book a lot and there’s plenty of hilarious and interesting secondary characters. This is my first book by this author, and while I enjoy strong female characters who are wild, I don’t enjoy female characters that I consider too stupid to live. Sage is annoying and makes numerous mistakes that endanger herself and others. She does this because she doesn’t want to follow rules or she thinks she knows best, despite having no experience with the Mob. Yes, King is a jerk and dominate but he wasn’t horrible and Save constantly seemed to over react. I wasn’t convinced what they were in love by the end of the book. I got and believed that they had a ton of chemistry and began to care for one another, I don’t believe it was love. I’m interested enough to read the second in the series when it’s released.

Emily Rose is new to me. I njoyed this book, but for me it fell flat half way through & never held my attention there after. Alot of skipping. I did finish & will definitely read Stone & Syn book

DNF. The female lead was more childish, rude and annoying than “badass” or however she was trying to be portrayed. She got on my nerves so much I couldn’t finish.

A Profoundly Dumb “Heroine”

This was a hard book to star rate. It started out interestingly enough, even if it was a bit of a slow burn and stretch of the imagination to wind around how Sage ends up in town and in the situation that brings Sage and King tomorrow.
But this author, between the Devil’s Soldiers and Fire and Ink crew, is getting a little too caught up in the “fun” idea of a “crazy” heroine. Believe me, I ain’t looking for a doormat, and the Fire and Ink women were pretty great, even if Ash and Raven acted like fools, and that’s repeated here times ten with Sage. I understand the concept of an independent woman and creating conflict in a novel, but the author here basically threw her heroine under the bus to create that conflict. They do something (or in Sage’s case) multiple something’s) incredibly dangerous and foolish, with no regard for anything else, get furious when people (usually the Big Strong Man) call them on their foolishness, take great delight in telling people how crazy they are, but crazy in these situations isn’t just something fun like mooning cop cars, but repeatedly bringing the mob down on her head. Nice elements of great humor and I do enjoy the sparks between Sage and King, it’s just too much. If I had to read Sage say “I’m a ******* delight” one more time, I might have given up.
Overall good heat, good MC drama, good H, mediocre h, worth a read, just be prepared to throw your device at some of Sage’s antics, especially if Ash from “Origins & Ink” made you scream with frustration!

What a start to this brand new series, it was fast-paced, it was hot, it had some great laugh out loud moments, all wrapped in one of the best MC suspense romances I have read in ages - I just want more of the Devil's Soliders

I should have been prepared for how good The Devil's Goddess was going to be after reading the prequel - The Devil's Queen, Bullet and Rose's story set the scene perfectly for what was to come. I thought Rose, the President Ol'lady and matriarch for the Devils, was sassy, take no prisons type of woman, but Sage, also known as 'Crazy' is about to give Rose and Rose and Bullets youngest son King and run for their money, these two women are like two peas in pod.

When Sage decides to leave town after an incident with her ex (how Emily Rose thought that up was pure genius), she ends up in the company of the Soldiers MC, where she fits right in, except with Bullett, the presidents younger son, they butt heads from the start, but the sizzle is off the charts and King only can find one way to stop Sage from talking!, when she gets targeted by the mob King is left to look after her, not easy with this crazy woman, but as the chemistry grows the suspense builds, do the Devil's have a mole? what does the mob really want, every page had something happening, every page kept my imagination alive. I can't wait for what is next.

This is King and Sage's book and it is hilarious and crazy. The two of them have a hate hate relationship at the beginning. King is all man Arrogant, Smart mouthed Alpha. who puts his foot in his mouth the day he meets Sage. Who is his parents new renter. Sage who everyone calls crazy is definitely not going to take anything laying down for him She is woman and hear her roar. She does not let him intimidate her and lets him have it every time they are together. The Chemistry between these two is off the charts they just wont act on it. Sages ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time taking pictures and King is forced to move in and protect her. Things heat up between the two of them quickly, but they are both scared to move forward or have any feelings for the other especially Sage who has been hurt so much in the past. Can she give her heart out again she is unsure. There are so many twists and suspense in the book I could not put it down. Exceptional writing and character development. A well thought out book. Can't wait for the next one in the series. This book did end with a HEA for the couple.

I received this book as an ARC for my Honest Review.

King and Sage. Nicely well framed romance with a MC who are still bad to the bone, even if they are not a one percenter club. You get a light sprinkling of mayhem, a whole bunch of humor (Gotta love the Coven), and the perfect bunch of alpha guys who just want to live and mind their own business. The antagonist is your typical Russian mob guy who has a strange speech rhythm, I guess to mimic a Russian accent. I found a problem in how he was approaching his tasks. You want someone dead, kill them. But this drags on in this book and little spoiler, the next three, until the Devils take care of it. But the women in the book are hilarious, and keep the biker men in their place and you cant help but wonder why this isnt titled Women of the Devil's Soldiers, Sage. Still a pleasant read that you will swoop through and love. It is a standalone, but almost requires you to read the Inked series before this as the characters and some scenes are reviewed in this one.

Epic And Fun Read

Who would’ve thought King of all people would fall? The push and pull, the love and hate relationship both King and Sage have is mind blowing. Both have issues with relationships, King not wanting to be responsible for someone other than himself and Sage just tired of the mundane feelings she has not having someone to love but also afraid to give it another go again. It took getting hurt to realize they do not want to be alone for the rest of their lives, with danger everywhere and a problem inside the club, they learn to let go and hold on tight. I've recently started reading this author's work and I will say she's really good, would I ever recommend anything by this author? Absolutely, with this bunch you'll be holding onto your side from laughter, you should definitely give this book a chance.

GAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! Had to DNF at like 60% because OMG King’s an ass, Sage is an ass. There’s absolutely no effing respect between them. He just decides yep he’s in effing charge and the author makes her body betrayal and whining OK. Like he gets to be the one to punish her for what? Being human and NO ONE talks to her like she’s a person. Not even Syn. I can’t. I just effing can’t. The other books in the Inked series were fine but this? This utter BS is ridiculous. Emily Rose, I’m so disappointed in you. How could you? You wrote Sage as if she’s supposed to be something and all you’ve done is turned her into a whimpering screeching harpy. Kings just an ass. There’s nothing redeeming about him. I’m so goddamn done with this trope. I hoped you wouldn’t but nope, you went ahead and just broke my heart and my trust.

I say this a lot when it comes to Emily's stories but they really do just get better and better! I was so excited for this book, as we get more of a look into the Devils Soldiers!

Sage is feisty, crazy and speaks her mind. Some of her come backs to the club girls left me in stitches! Her and King definitely start off on the rocky side of things - but when they do finally get together all that pent up sexual tension is released in a incredibly hot way. Also, my faves Rose and Bullet are in this and honestly I'm so happy whenever I read them😂

So much happens in this book that it's difficult to say too much without giving it away but there's a lot of action, violence, steamy scenes and enough one liners to keep you from wanting to put this down at all!

I'll go ahead and warn you to watch your beverages as you begin this one! You might just end up with iced coffee all over the place. 😂

This book is an excellent blend of hilarious one liners, hot spicy scenes, and intense danger. Sage starts off very guarded & you quickly find out why. King is the perfect addition to her life. I love that he doesn't try to change her and, instead, accepts her for the wild one she is. He gives her enough space and support to be herself and vice versa. Sage accepts King for the asshole he is and embraces the life of the Devil's Soldiers.

I'm eager to find out how the mob vs the Devil's Soldiers plays out. I look forward to the next book in the Devil's Soldiers saga.

Love love love it!!!!

Ok, so I don't do the whole summary review - read the blurb 🤷‍♀️ 🤣
But this book - Bah! I freakin loved it! Not even 17 pages in & I already wanted Sage as my best friend! Following Sage & King through all the chaos is action packed and hilarious at the same time. I am a huge fan of this author and she has quickly become one of my favorite authors with her crazy loveable crew. I love seeing the cameos of my favorite characters, and each time Emily Rose brings us new ones to love. I cannot wait for the next in this series!!!! I am hoping and praying it is about Syn!🤩

Read this book! Give it a shot - if you're not hooked by the first few chapters, well... I don't know.... but how could you not be?!?! Seriously, that awesome! Enjoy!

HOT enemies to lovers/bodyguard MC story

Whoah!! Emily crushed it again with another super hot addition to this MC series. “Crazy” and “Biker Boy” have a serious hate on for each other (or so they think) and it adds to a seriously hot sexual tension that combusts when they finally give in to one another. The pace was amazing to keep that chemistry building and for the suspense of the danger of their story to play out.

I love all of the characters coming back bread crumbs dropped of what is still to come. I love that I still don’t know what is going to happen next and that she left me just enough of a brain scratcher at the end the I will be itching for her next story to come out!

An excellent read....

There's no denying... Sage is a ****** delight!!!! 🤣🤣🤣 That girl is pure nuts and is absolutely perfect for King!

Bullet was asked as favour to find somewhere for Sage to live and to start over in his town and when she arrived, let's just say sparks fly when her and King are in the same room - more of an explosion instead of sparks!
They send each other batty but there's no denying the pull 🤗

She lands herself in hot water - and it wasn't even intentional this time - and finds herself being chased and hav a price on her head by the Russian Mob!!!

It's a good read, laughter, passion, secrets, excellent characters - I loved it all!!!

4.5 stars.

Mouthy

This book was so good & entertaining. I loved how even when she shouldn't have been, she was still her mouthy self. There are a few things that might have been nice. Like maybe some information on her parents? There's one little tiny mention of her dad, but that's it. Would have liked to have heard what other crazy things she's done but only because I think it would have added to her "crazy" persona. The only other thing would have been nice if someone hadn't missed a few typos that were pretty obvious. Not too many, but they were obvious ones that someone should have caught. It doesn't end in a cliffhanger, but you will have to continue on to find out other information. I'll definitely be continuing on & would definitely recommend it. On to the next!

a really good read

This is a very entertaining story. Biker meets crazy girl who has a unique way to punish a cheating ex. It has a charming assembly of bike hotties and their fascinating women. There are crazy women antics, a kidnapping, a bad guy surfaces and a mole within the MC. It has hilarious moments, sexy times as they work their way to an HEA. No cheating. Yes there is a cliffhanger but it has to do with the bad guy, more like a running theme. The couple get their HEA. Recommended.

I think there should be an option for more than 5 stars because this book definitely deserves atleast 10. I laughed so hard . The banter between all the characters is absolutely amazing. The world and character building is so good I'm hooked and will be needing all of Emily Rose's books. King and Sage are my new favorite couple. They had chemistry from the first encounter even if it was hate at first sight. This is a hysterical enemies to lovers forced proximity mc romance that I will be recommending to everyone I know. Now I'm off to read book 2 of this series.

This was my first read from this author and I loved it.

Enemies to lover is my #1, throw in an MC enemies to lover with awesome spice and I am on cloud 9.

The fights these characters would get into and the bickering, banter and let’s not forget their pranks. This book made me LOL a time or two 😅

The danger in this book as well was really good. It a few of them I didn’t even see coming. As always the brotherhood is strong (maybe not for all however). Also really like the connection the women all made.

Cannot wait to dove more into this series
