The police want Jimmy Blue behind bars. Everyone else just wants him dead.
Jimmy Blue is out of control. After avenging the murder of his family, he embarks on a deadly rampage through London’s organised crime bosses. As the police close in, he escapes by stowing aboard a container ship.
But there are two problems: first, the police have been tipped off and are planning to arrest him on arrival in New York; second, the ship’s secret means he might not survive long enough to get to America. Each of the seven passengers has a bounty on their head, and captain and crew will compete to hunt them down and claim their prize.
Unarmed, friendless, caught between desperate criminals and a murderous crew and heading towards the waiting police - Jimmy Blue will have to go to the limit if he is to survive.
Ian W Sainsbury is a musician, composer, writer, comedian and puppet wrangler (yes, that's a real job). Obviously, he doesn't know what to do when he grows up and - now that he's in his forties - he's resigned to the fact that he probably never will.
His first novel was published in 2016.

A Very good story about Tom, a big man who has learning difficulties; and Jimmy Blue, a big man who was intelligent, cold and calculating. This was exciting, suspenseful and dramatic. A police chase, a cargo ship and an awful lot of twists and turns. I couldn't wait to finish the book, but was sorry when it did finish.
This is what an action novel is supposed to read like. Jimmy Blue is the alternate personality of Tom Lewis. Tom is mentally damaged after surviving a bullet to the head when he was a child. His speech is slow and his IQ very low. Jimmy Blue is an angel of vengeance who is everything Tom is not—fast, brilliant, and driven to make a difference in the world. It's weird that the two men inhabit the same body and I feel bad for Tom having to deal with the aftermath of Jimmy Blue’s crusade against violent criminals.
The police, quite naturally, think Jimmy Blue is a criminal himself and seem determined to protect other murderers from him. After a particularly successful bit of vengeance in London, Blue decides it’s time to escape to the U.S. The problem is that the cops are looking for him, so he takes passage with a shady ship’s captain who is even shadier than he suspected. The results is a book that’s packed with action from beginning to end.
I do think there is one problem with the ending, but I can’t state what is it without giving away the conclusion of the story. And it wasn’t enough to even slightly damage my enjoyment of the tale.
This is another chapter in the Jimmy blue story. Tom has to leave England to avoid jail and capture. He ends up on a freighter coming to America. The plot revolves around The captain of the freezer takes on passengers and does not intend for them to ever leave the ship at the destination. The ship is going to New York in the story is about how Jimmy blue a.k.a. Tom takes revenge on the ship captain and crewI recommend this book for all thriller readers along with the caution that there is violence and death in the book
I was lucky enough to find this book for free on Amazon and what a treat! This is the second book that I have read in the Jimmy Blue series and they have both been excellent. The author certainly knows how to write a thrilling story with good characterisation and I found it very hard to put down. It was certainly different from your normal thriller but this was what made it feel like a breath of fresh air. I am looking forward to reading more books in the series!
This was a very good action thriller featuring slow Tom and fast Jimmy. I read this soon after the first in the series and it was just as well-written, but not as much of a surprise as the first one. The plot premise was innovative and morbidly fascinating. Warning: there's a lot of gratuitous violence so it is NOT for all readers. I will continue to read more in this series.
Ian Sainsbury is a master storyteller. A very unique and refreshing style of writing. These Tom/Jimmy books keep pulling you through them. He has well developed characters that are allowed to tell their portion of the story rather than relying upon a single protagonist and/or a narrative style of storytelling. Highly recommended.
Excellent continuation of the Bedlam Boy (renamed Jimmy Blue)/Tom Lewis story. A violent thriller with a science fiction aspect, the book is well written and edited. I plan to start the next book in the series immediately.
Couldn't put it down. The first book -- Winter Fall -- was fantastic and totally satisfying from beginning to end. This is the second book. I could barely breathe from page to page like I was reading on a high wire with no net.
Ingenious character invention and a lot of fun to read even if the plots require a suspension of disbelief that does not stop me from waiting to see how Jimmy Blue gets through the next adventure. The author has a fertile imagination,
Scary, fascinating story of a man with a split personality, evil, and good. Brilliant, vs mentally challenged. The evil tales over to avenge a wrong, travels via sea as murder and mayhem follow.
A thick story to wade through I think. But I didn’t because of dreadful language. A person with a split persona and the cop chasing him down with her rather rough and tumble team is the books concept. From the little I read it’s heavy going
Interesting second book in the series. The story takes a different turn and almost enters a different sub-genre. Jimmy's motivation seems different in this instalment but the story is just as good as the first book.
Second book and what a story. I knew I would be entertained after reading the first one but really! So enjoy I won't spoil it awesome. Love Love Love Jimmy Blue
Ever changing scinerios....especially liked bad persons getting bad endings ... unrealistic but delightful. Can't wait for further adventures... hopefully , with American quips instead.
Another exciting book. I could hardly put this book down. Read constantly just to get to the end. Now I must read the next book. A great character with such an interesting life! Keep writing!?
What an amazing series I am riveted love Tommy but adore Jimmy Blue ❤️
Found this series 🙌 and I'm loving everything about these books bought them on kindle and paperback will be on my to be read again bookshelf Amazing thanks Ian
This book definitely tops the first one. The way it starts out to mimic the Hunger Games is surreal. I love when the underdog comes out on top. Great read.
Tom is such an interesting character. This was an interesting story of his escape from the British Isles. I'm looking forward to the next book to see what happens next in his life.
These books just suck me in, they're so good. I can never predict what's coming next. This series is rivaling my previous favorite for my all-time favorite. Can't wait to see where it goes.
