I’m now in the line of fire and I think Santiago and Marsden manipulated me here.

Getting the lead in a famous ballet company had always been a dream of mine, but this just feels hollow. Not only is this ballet cursed, I just hate how I got the role. I’ve moved from the understudy who was supposed to protect the cast to the understudy who stole the lead. This is exactly what happened before and everyone died.

Marsden has gotten super weird. He’s being supportive and he’s started publicizing this ballet like he thinks this is a sure thing. He still hasn’t told me everything he knows and I have no idea where Santiago Suarez is.

If anyone else dies, it may break me.

What happened to all that tension?

Okay. This did not go anything like I had envisaged. I was hoping for a suspenseful buildup to a grand reveal with an epic climax, and then a HEA, but instead, well, this is how it went….

This should have been my first clue that things weren’t going to go according to plan. The book picks up immediately after the events of book two, but instead of Beyla being horrified yet determined to get justice, we start off with Beyla curled up in a ball in shock. Okaaayyy. (But also, did this just get a tad bit retconned for plot convenience?)

Anyway, ignoring that, my main gripe about this conclusion to an otherwise great trilogy is this - although things were moving along okay right up until Santiago is discovered, instead of the giving us the implied hunt for a cursed Fae with murderous designs as he tries to kill the cast, instead we have a big chat, et voilà!, all’s right with the P and the ballet goes on… I’m sorry… what!??! 🤯 This was such a twist from the almost guaranteed cat and mouse game that I was expecting to begin once Beyla and the guys continued on with the choreography, that I really feel cheated and more than a little disappointed that everything was solved with a jolly good conversation 🤨.

Honestly, once that happened, the small amount of tension that the third book had managed to build up fizzled, and you just knew that everything was going to be all sunshine and roses since the cursed (and murderous) antagonist was essentially neutered. So, because the last 25% of the book was just an extended HEA my rating went down 😮‍💨

This was a good book. It was. I like the story and the dance setting. I just couldn’t get over the lazy editing errors, and this is a carryover critique from books 1&2. I know it’s hard in self pub to hire an editor. But this book had an editor. And that’s a problem.

Sentences weren’t cohesive. I’d forget whose POV we were reading and would have to check. Apparently, so would the author. At one point, Nicolai comments about what Nicolai was doing in the third person. In his own POV chapter.

This gets 3 stars from me because I liked it, but it wasn’t ready to be published.

Not sure how I felt about the ending, but it was overall good!

So, my prediction was of course correct with the biggest plot! It was just slightly predictable, but not in a TOTAL obvious way.

There was one line in particular that I LOVED in this book:
"Setting stupid people on fire makes me feel good." sulked Kaine.
THIS NEEDS TO BE A T-SHIRT! This is the most relatable thing I've read in all of these books, so far.

I don't know why, this may be just me, but... I felt like the last 30% of this book seemed to just kind of go down a bit. I mean, it ended the way it should have, plot wise, but I just felt some of it was slightly rushed.

SPOILER ALERT:
I feel when 'Santiago' met up with them after the opening performance and basically gave them all of his assets, it made sense. Him disappearing after the season? Sure, though I kind of wish we knew what happened or where he went.

Kaine and Nyx - Okay... KINDA happy? Kaine definitely deserves happiness. He's probably one of my favourite characters in any of these series. I'm not sure how dragons age in this 'world', and koodos to bringing ACE into the books (though I had to Google to be sure I understood what it was), but, there's 31 years between them? In most supernatural books, that's not a biggie since werewolves and dragons and even witches and definitely vampires live for centuries, but they talk about Kaine retiring, so, it doesn't seem dragons age much differently than humans. I'm TOTALLY down for them being close, maybe I'm a bit in the dark, but the age thing just threw me off here...

ANYWAYS! Overall, I enjoyed the series. The fact that these are completed BEFORE Ravyn's books, which actually happen BEFORE these ones chronologically, bugs me a ton, but I made sure to skip as much as I could to avoid any spoilers!

Dealing with a death, a Gala, a clue, mate claimed and a surprise.
Wow what an intense finale. There is so much emotions in this book. Poor Beyla had to deal - emotionally with the death of Bellatrix. It was self defence but she just want to magically fling the gun away.
Kaine is so great suggesting meditation to deal with it.
The gala was so sexy. Then Marsden giving a permanent dancing position at the P - Yay.
Nicole's cousin gives them a clue about Marsden.
I love what Beyla does to him when she figures it out. I KNEW IT.
Nix and Kaine - sigh, so great.
The reason Beyla is the key to breaking the curse makes sense but was a surprise til this book.
Opening night was amazing. Loved hearing about Ripley, Ravyn, their husbands and kids. Their kids are so cute.
The surprise was what Marsden did after the show. Good for them and Nix. I could so see Nix rocking her new job.
I was expecting one more twist, but unfortunately there was not one.
I love Madame Lucinda.
I wish we found out what happened to Marsden in the end.. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Our heroine has the lead role, but it is not at all what she expected. Now she has to make the performance of a lifetime.

This is book three of the series and the conclusion. I do not recommend starting here.

So ballet is not my thing, but I do like a good urban fantasy. This one offers both and does a good job of it. The story is well written and generally easy to read, although the prima donnas do get on one's nerves. The characters are well done, even the annoying ones, and certainly bring the story to life. The mystery itself is a good one and includes plenty of twists and turns. All that being said, the conclusion lacked something of the punch I was expected.
It wrapped things up, but seemed a little flat after the previous books. Still, this was a very enjoyable series and I look forward to more odd creations from this author.

Recommended.

Beyla is an undercover who has been placed at a Ballerina institute to determine why the leads and additional dancers continue to turn up dead. While undercover another lead attempts to take her life and an entire can of worms opens up leading to the reason behind the mysterious deaths and how Beyla is at the center.

This book was decent. Beyla and her harem were cute, but I found myself confused at several parts. Her entire harem is supernatural and there is a slight MM relationship with in it as well. I usually swoon for RH's but this one was quite tame. There was spice but on the pepper scale I'd give it maybe 2 peppers. The claiming scene was the best one by far.

The storyline however was very good and kept me intrigued throughout. Overall a good read. . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I have been waiting for this book since I started reading this series and I adored what I was reading. As a person that loves to dance, I could relate to the Beyla a lot more than Trepagnier's other characters. I can't spark flames but I can go to dance practice for hours and wanna collapse at the end of it. I personally don't do ballet but this book had a lot of details that I believe to be accurate but I also love that the book was slower. All of Trepagnier's other works have high action and this one was lower action and more thinking and researching; something that I would be doing. I loved this series! I even wrote a full book blog on it, so check that out if you want to read my full thoughts on the book.

Encore is the culmination of a unique series, an investigation into a curse that now includes a murder. Beyla and the guys begin this book trying to move past the killing and figure out who Santiago is before someone else dies.

I found this book interesting and fast paced, relationship develop and the story moves on. I do have one issue and it is that the climax is not as exciting as I was hoping it would be. They kinda figure it out and that is pretty much it. They move one and live a HEA.

I was hoping for more tension and excitement towards the big reveal but it fell a little flat. With that being said. It is a solid read and it is relatively satisfying. I cannot wait to read more of this shared universe!!!

This books picks up where the last book left off after that cliffhanger and we are left with questions. We find out the secret that has been kept with help from Nyx making a revelation while researching. I really enjoyed the tension of Arden and Beyla still waiting to mate until this book and also the slight M/M BDSM playing between Arden and Bevan. The group scenes were good and I enjoyed watching the guys get over past differences and come together. I enjoyed this book and the happily ever after. I wish there was a Nyx book!

This author has become one of my favorites in her genre. She goes places that others would be too afraid to go and she makes them enjoyable every single time. As always this book was wonderfully written and impossible to put down. Captured from the start causing it to be impossible to put down.

I didn’t realize just how much I needed this book until I had it in my hands. I loved the ballet aspect to it and made the mystery and twists of the book so much more enjoyable. I loved the characters and their growth both separate and together.

Just Ok

I loved the beginning of the story. Book one was amazing. Book three is mostly about the heroine’s relationship and a little about actually solving the mystery.

The conclusion of the mystery was predictable. My issues with the book was that there was that that was a lot of repetition.
Different people saying the same things. I’m addition, I hated the constant name dropping of people in the other series by the author. I wouldn’t mind once or twice, but more was an overkill. It wasn’t needed for the storyline.

I really enjoyed this entire series, the ballet, the mystery, the romance, all great! I do wish that we got more of the relationship development between all of the characters. This isn’t something against the author or the development we get in this series, but something I almost always want more of no matter who wrote the book. . Enjoyed the ending

I enjoyed the mystery of this series. Learning about ballet companies and rivalries. The group dynamic doesn't seem forced, like with some RH. Arden finally gets to claim his mate and Marsden had a surprise for the leads. This is the final book on the trilogy. We get more steam, a more cohesive group and an HFN. Told from multiple POV. Even get to hear from characters from previous series.

If you want something that you can get your teeth into and sit and thoroughly enjoy a good read that will have your temperature rising, then this is the book for you. I love any series that comes in a box soon and this one does. You will love the characters and the storyline flowed really well and eventually there is the happily ever after.

Beyla has been attacked by Bellatrix, and her attacker is now dead - how will Marsden react to the death of one of his lovers? Will Beyla and her covenm be able to find out the truth about Santiago? Will they finally be able to break the curse? This series has it all - romance, mystery, some violence - have loved every book!

Excellent finale for the series. Drama was high and plenty of action and steam to keep you interested all the way through. Beyla was an excellent FMC. Unique story set in a cursed ballet. I love how all these recent books have a shared world where characters interact. Looking forward to the twins books and more from the museum of the profane. Definitely recommend.

What an encore!

While I thought I had it figured out before this final book, I can say I was right and totally wrong. This was a great conclusion to the mystery and adventure at The P. The characters all got their chance to shine in their different roles as part of the production. I'd love to catch back up with them in 10 years and gave another exciting tale.

Overall, I really enjoyed it. I enjoy the chemistry within the harem. The relationships with some of the corps characters really shine as well. Madame Lucinda is a treasure. The pacing struggles a bit, and it felt a little anticlimactic compared to her other series. Overall, still a really fun world and read.

This is the third and final book in the Paranormal Investigation Bureau Series; the story continues from the previous book and needs to be read in order.

Good. But anticlimactic.

I honestly don't know what I expected to happen in book three. But the build up was incredibly tense and then just poof ....all resolved...huh??? Maybe I was expecting dramatics or the curseade real or Selena returned. I dont know. Overall it was a good story. Three books to get here though felt underwhelming.

Just so good. They finally crack who Santiago is and my suspicions were confirmed. Things get a heck of a lot easier after that. So much so I kinda missed the crazy drama. But everyone grows closer and Beyla finally gets into the whole mate/coven thing. Plus. Unexpected Nyx parter!!! Eeeee. Love how it was all finished off

Spin off to the Profane world

Set a number of years after the Museum of the Profane, this spin off centers around Kaine Dragovich's adopted daughter Beyla. I'd recommend reading the first 2 series before this to understand everything.

It's not as intense as the previous 2 series but it's plot, characters etc is just as wonderful.

Mild BDSM, spice including MM.

Great ending to a great trilogy!! It was slower than what I am used to with JB's books but it was full of those little details I love (drama, steam, a great HEA) I love how thru this books I can keep up also on my other favorite characters from this shared world!!
