An ex-Army ranger trained in patrol and sentry search and rescue, a high school principal who catches his eye, and an earthquake that shakes up Dallas.
Sergeant Dylan Burke and his K9 partner, Scout, conducted dangerous war-zone search and rescue missions all over the world. Three years later, he’s settled into a simpler life, teaching students at the DCSR academy and responding to routine SAR calls. He doesn’t think he needs anything else, but when his boss tells him he’s going to a career day at a local high school and meets the leggy, brunette principal, he realizes he might be wrong.
Jillian Wenrich knows she’s changing the world, one high school kid at a time. She prides herself on being an active, thoughtful principal, and goes out of her way to make sure her students have every opportunity to succeed. That’s why she reaches out to the DCSRA and requests that they send over an instructor to talk to the students about what it takes to be the best of the best . What she doesn’t expect to happen is to fall for the handsome ex-Army ranger that shows up.
Will Dylan make room for Jillian in his life? Will Jillian open her heart to the guarded military hero? And what happens when an earthquake strikes and endangers the students and Jillian?

Very cute. Dylan was so insecure because what he had been through in his past relationships, that man deserved an enormous hug. Jillian just wanted to prove herself but no one let her. He saw her for who she was, so sweet. They made a fabulous couple
A sweet, heartfelt story with the drama of an earthquake and two special people (oh let's not forget the amazing rescue dog Scout.
When and ex army ranger and instructor at the Disaster City Search and Rescue comes to school on career day to talk to the students, he had no idea what would happen or that he would meet the beautiful principal!
Action, adventure and another wonderful story by this talented author!
This is one of my favorite series but with that being said I did not get the connection with this couple. The story is good as usual but the couple did not seem like a good fit.
This book was short and sweet, with a strong Christian theme. The romance and storyline were pretty good too, I just wish the author did a bit more of showing rather than summarizing and telling parts of the story. Overall a good read though.
Dylan and Jillian have become favorites of mine. They were both non-nonsense kind of people. There was no wondering how they felt or hiding behind their feelings when it came to each other or the people they worked with. I liked this straight-forward approach! Dylan was an instructor at the Disaster City Search and Rescue, specializes in bomb detection with his K-9, Scout. He'd been an Army Ranger for many years but was injured and found a new purpose as an instructor. Jillian was a principal at a high school but had a lot of push-back because of being in a town that didn't particularly like her. I liked how both of them dealt with difficulties and adversities. When an earthquake happens, will Dylan be able to save Jillian and her debate team high schoolers? Exciting stuff!
Disaster City Search and Rescue series has been one of my favorites and this book just confirms why. A brave, handsome man of faith who also has a dog, actually my favorite breed, a German shepherd. Dylan Burke checks so many of my boxes, I can only wish I was young again and one of Jenna Brandt’s heroines. Having never lived in a town small enough to have years old grudges or a family that can make things so uncomfortable for the high school principal, just because Jillian Wenrich grew up in a rival town. As a native Texan I’ll admit a big earthquake is a bit of a stretch for me, Jenna Brandt does make it believable and what I think would happen if such an event happened. I admit to being one of those readers who has just finished this book and can’t wait for the next one.
These two are so right for each other. This lovely faith-based book tells the tale of battle scared ex-ranger and a principle who not all that liked. The hero and heroine were great characters in fact there is not real villain in this charming tale. There were some interesting parts and how they were dealt with was a credit to the author. There were some global and national issue touched on too and it is pretty clear where the author stands on those issues. I enjoyed the book and it is one this is clearly for all ages. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I loved reading Dylan and Jillian’s story. Dylan was an army ranger until an injury resulted in his discharge. He is now working for DCSR helping train people and their dogs as well as doing rescue missions. He meets Jillian, the high school principal while at career day and is drawn to her. As the two of them start dating, there are obstacles they must overcome. When an disaster happens, Dylan is faced with the most important rescue of his life. Another great DCSR book!
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
I enjoyed this book. I like the books in this series because I like to see what people do who are involved in Search and Rescue and I think Jenna does a good job describing it. I like the romance between the main characters in this book. I liked that they had to overcome some misgivings in order to progress in their relationship but I liked how they worked through things in order to be together.
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.
A high school principal and a DSCR ranger with an amazing dog She LOVES her job. Even though in the eyes of the town she comes from the wrong town! What difference does that make? And he loves his job . . .and when he goes to the school for Professional Day for a presentation and they meet - - - well let’s just say it is a good day for both of them. THIS is another great book by Jenna Brandt!!! I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts and comments are my own.
I really enjoy the DCSR series. This was just as good as the ones that came before. Dylan is an ex Army Ranger who has become an instructor at the Disaster City Search and Rescue with his K9, Scout. Dylan has to give a presentation at the local high school where he meets the Principal, Jillian. They begin dating and become close. What happens when she takes the debate team to Dallas and an earthquake occurs while they are there?
This was a sweet story about Jillian, a high school principal, and Dylan, a veteran and a K-9 search and rescue instructor. A lot of the story felt summarized instead of the reader seeing the activity of their relationship... Or their lives. Jillian's interactions with her students also drove me nuts. She's deeply insecure about her authority and when the students poke fun at her (as teenagers do), she reacts and reads as very immature.
The Army Ranger Rescue is a sweet, heartwarming romance with an earthquake! I love Dylan, Jillian and Scout. This well written book is about these two meeting when Dylan presents at Jillian's high school career day; their almost instant attraction; and the effect on their relationship when an earthquake endangers the students and Jillian. I could not put down the book.
I loved reading Dylan and Jillian's story. It's a sweet romance with action, drama and suspense. This book is a heartwarming story that will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. I received a complimentary copy and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Jenna Brandt doesn’t disappoint in this latest installment of her Disaster City Search and Rescue Series. Adrenaline fueled rescue scenes and sweet romantic moments will keep the reader eagerly turning the next page.
Thank you Jenna Brandt for the Advanced Reader Copy. The views expressed are my own and there was no obligation or requirement to post a review.
Dylan begins the book as a grumpy and rather terse character, an unlikely hero. Fortunately once he meets Jillian we get to see a softer, more appealing side. This book also sets the scene for the new crossover series...it promises plenty of fireworks to go with the romance. I read this on Kindle Unlimited
I won't give details, but this was a very enjoyable faith-filled book staring Dylan and Jillian. Characters are well-written. This book contains all the elements of a good romance including humor, faith, and a bit of suspense.
I received a copy of this book from the author. My review is voluntary and unbiased.
Another sweet romance with Dylan who was in the military but due to a injury he is now training for the DCSR where he meets high school principal Jillian. They are drawn to each other and start dating but when a disaster occurs he has to step up and do his job. They are both well suited for each other and the disaster made for a little suspense and drama in the story.
When Dylan was asked to speak at the local high school for the job fair, little did he know that the grumpy old principal wasn’t really as grumpy as she appeared to be. Ice skating mishaps, Ferris wheel seat rocks, and earthquakes are all a part of this quick read. Great addition to the previous series.
*I got this book for free from the stuff your Kindle sale in 2023*

The book is well written and flows easily. But I felt zero chemistry between the MCs. I kept giving it one more chapter to see if it got better, and for me, the chemistry didn't get any better. Don't let this stop you from trying the book. Maybe it's just me.
This story grabbed me from the first and I just couldn’t put it down. I’ve never been in an earthquake but the descriptions are so vivid that I could easily envision the scenes. Jillian and Dylan are an awesome couple. I love how strong they both are in facing their respective trials, depending on their faith in God.
The reason I read Christian themed books is that I do not like to hear about or even think about homosexual behavior while reading. I hear enough about this in the world we live in. God help us to love the sinner and hate the sin!
I enjoyed reading this story about a K-9 First Responder team and the romance that develops between him and a high school principal. I especially enjoyed that the main characters are Christian. I look forward to readin more by this author.
A great romance between a high school principal who is trying to prove her worth to her students and their parents and the K-9 rescue ranger who was injured while he was a soldier. When she is involved in a disaster he comes to her rescue. I love these heroes.
This book can probably be read in an evening. It is a clean, faith-based romance. It also involves the Disaster City SAR teams, so there are some rescue situations, including one where one of the dogs is hurt but survives (just a warning to other dog lovers like me).
Another great book in this series on K9 Handlers and their rescue dogs. This one is about a Sargent rescue officer his dog and his high school principal. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
I liked the reminding thought that you are never to give up. No matter what happens, God is watching over you and if you don't give up, you are always a winner! "Muscles" and "Dream Girl" proved that!
I enjoyed this book! It was a quick, easy read. I really liked the main characters, especially the dog! It's very strongly Christian religion oriented, so if that's not your thing, you may want to skip it, but it is a clean read.
This is a great book but some sentences don't make sense. The theme of shallow verses empathetic is nice. Just edit it. Even the end where you showcase other books has sentences that are so awkward.
