Hollywood Rogue

Rate this book
Strangers to lovers? More like don’t blow my cover. And don’t pick up strangers on the side of the road. Seems simple enough. But my life is anything but simple.

And he’s technically not a stranger.

But our history is—well…strange. I know exactly who Rogue Maddox is. The good, the bad-boy…and the ugly. But he doesn’t even know I exist. Or that we have history.

I never expected to see the Hollywood hottie again or for sparks to fly between us. Especially with him covered in blood and me in glitter…occupational hazard I guess you could say.

Now I’m caught in a lie that could destroy us. I’m not the person he thinks I am…that girl is a character I’ve been playing. If I tell him the truth, I could lose him. If I don’t, what’s between us will never be real.

But playing pretend is better than having my heart broken for real…right?

Misti Murphy writes sweet and funny, sometimes frustrating and always swoony romantic comedies with just a teensy bit of angst.

When she's not writing she lives in an imaginary world full of happy humans, glitter, and unicorns.

Not that being a mother of four, plus four fur kids isn't practically the same thing. Except when they steal the Tim Tams.

(Kangaroos are practically unicorns, right?)

Oh how I love those Maddox brothers - and Rogue and Ivy’s story did not disappoint.

Ivy comes across as a vulnerable young lady who has had a tough time throughout her life but deep down there is a brave and tough little fighter trying to break through. She likes to deal with things in her own way and in her own time and often rejects the offer of help. Her best friend Adira and the rest of her drag queen friends bring out the best in Ivy and help her gain the confidence she so desperately needs.

When she first meets Rogue she has to channel her alter-ego Uma Cookie before she can even string a sentence together. I love how protective Rogue is of her and love that she gets more and more confident each time they meet - to the point she is willing to share things with him that she wouldn’t share with anyone else.

On the outside, Rogue himself is cool and confident but he also shows a vulnerability when he starts to doubt his sanity. I really did feel for him. He cares deeply about the people in his life who mean the most to him.

This is such a sweet love story with all the makings of a happy ever after…..and then Misti Murphy had to go and give me a jaw-drop-to-the-floor moment………..and then another plot twist that I never saw coming!

I can’t wait to read more!

Ate up this story from beginning to end, all on one Saturday. Ivy is a shy girl. Her family, however, is not! She’s been on the outside looking in on Rogue’s life for a long time. Blending in to the background. Until one day, he sees her. The only way she can talk to him is through the confidence her alter ego gives her. A chance encounter has the Hollywood bad boy wanting to know more. Ivy knows they are too different but she can’t stay away from him no matter how hard she tries. I love watching Rogue chase Ivy. Love watching him bring her out of her comfort zone. Love the hot chemistry between these two. Love getting more time with Rebel, Summer, Riot and Ro. I had an inkling that that plot twist was coming, but I still
Wasn’t prepared for it. Need to see where this goes…..soon. I’m definitely on the edge of my seat. I gotta see the great Rogue Maddox fall.

Cliffhanger.

I got really excited after reading book 1 because I love a good series where each book showcase a different main character but this book ends in a cliffhanger. It's a good cliff hanger really good but gheesh I thought I was about to fall in love with another Maddox brother or even one of Summer's. Kind of disappointing but the storyline wasn't lacking.

Very frustrated- read on KU

I enjoyed the first book. I was interested to read the second. However, I am not happy to read a 3 part series in the middle of a bigger series. This entire book is about the chase for Rogue to track down the elusive Uma Cookie. Our FMC, Ivy, rescues Rogue in a sense at the beginning of the book. She knows who he is and has multiple connections to him. He doesn't know about any of them. He knows about the good one by the end of the book. He should have known a third of the way through. The hunt to find her and to prove to Rebel he isn't imagining her took entirely too long. I think he learns her true name at around 80% an nothing of interest happens after that other than one short conversation with her brother.

The author has said this is how the characters wrote the story. I respect that. However, in kindness to her readers who would like a complete story and not breadcrumbs, write it, cut it down, and then get to the meat of their issues in one book. I see the next book is already out and it still doesn't conclude this mess. I absolutely do not want to read about this couple for two more books.

The way this is written is a way to lose readers. I only recently found Ms. Murphy and have read almost all of her books. I have been following her but I'm not sure I'm going to continue if this becomes a new trend.

I'm ready to read about the other brother and their friends. Although, I do not want to read about the girl who was raped and refused to report it. I really hope that she doesn't continue to date the other brother. If that happens, I may just be done with this series.

I'm not sure I've ever seen an author write a 3 part book (because it should have only been one book) in the middle of a series and, as you can tell, I'm not a fan.

Just when I thought I had all the words for this review BOOM, the ending!! Not sure what else to say, other then What The Actual Hell!?!? I seriously have to wait at least another 70+ days before I get the conclusion… it’s going to be a wait!

Young Ivy Love is quiet, uncomfortable, uncoordinated especially with men, her alter ego, Uma Cookie on the hand is her complete opposite, not only can she hold a sentence she had other “skills”, gone is the shy hide away, hello is a happy, loud character, literally! Uma can be anything from a Disney Princess, to a sexy rabbit, her masks bring out a new persona, but this one brings a world of trouble!

Rogue Maddox is a bad boy noone can deny, he’s made plenty of bad choices, leaving to bad consequences, one in particular, brings him and Uma together in the strangest of ways. After being shot in the ass (yes you read that right), Rogue is in the run straight into the path of Ivy’s car.. she stops to help him, takes him to the hospital and there begins the real story of Rogue Maddox and your ultimate game of cat and mouse.

After surgery Rogue is certain his Uma exists, but with no one else seeing her, he stats to question his sanity, trying everything to find her… if only he knew the skittish woman he’d seen a number of times was his Uma, she continues to evade him at every turn… But when he finds her for real, all bets are off. He wants the everything with her… but she harbours more secrets, ones that could tear her world apart, it would destroy what she has with Rogue, but with 💯 certainty, it will open more wound for all of the Maddox Brothers…

Bring on April, I can’t wait for the ending. If you want to join the rebels club, check out Hollywood Rebel, where it all began.

Second twin rogue is the sweet brother who makes everyone laugh. He’s also a mega player and when he gets caught in bed with a cult leaders daughter, the dad shoots him twice. He runs into the street and ivy stops her car and takes him to the hospital. She’s dressed as Elsa and never tells him her name.
It’s not the first time she’s run into rogue. She spent six months in a mental health facility and that’s where the Maddox matriarch lives. She saw rogue six times.
After his release from the hospital, he runs into her again at a bar, this time dressed as rapunzel and she tells him her name is uma cookie. It’s a drag name that her cousin the drag queen and his friends gave her. She does their costumes and makeup and also does children’s parties on the side.
Rogue becomes obsessed with finding her. He sees her again at a Halloween party dressed as cat woman and the spend the night in the park talking. They fall asleep and when he wakes up she’s gone. He even has her handcuffed to a bed once to prove to his brothers that she’s real but she still disappears. He starts to think he’s hallucinating.
He runs into the real ivy at a coffee shop and dumps her coffee on her. He doesn’t recognize her. Then they run I to each other at the shrinks office because he’s convinced he’s hallucinating.
Finally, this guy Ben who likes ivy punches rogue in the face because he thinks rogue is straining ivy along and that’s when he figures out that ivy is uma and he’s not hallucinating.
He brings ivy to meet the fam. But ivy has a bad family - a mom who is a controlling jerk and a brother who is evil. Turns out her brother is Alec Hawthorne - the asshole who hurt Ro and got rebel sent to the slammer and ivy was the o e who sent in the anonymous recording. When rogue drops ivy off at home, Alex literally jumps out of the bushes to scare her and now shits about to get real. Cliffhanger.

Hollywood Rogue
Imagine waking up from a nap, jumping out of a second story window into a pool, getting shot twice in the backside and being rescued by a Disney princess. Rogue is having a bad day. He flags down a car that is being driven by a princess and asks to be taken to the hospital. Is he dreaming?
Ivy has had a crush on Rogue Maddox for quite a while. Hollywood’s handsome bad-boy A-list actor. She does not expect to be driving home from a kid’s birthday party dressed as Elsa to find Rogue in need of help. She takes him to the hospital. He asks her to stay until he wakes up. She can’t tell him her name so she tells him her name is Uma Cookie.
This starts a rollercoaster ride of mystery. Who is this woman? Did her imagine her?
Rogue is much more than a handsome guy. He and his brothers grew up with nothing but themselves to depend on. His brothers tease him about the mystery woman, Uma Cookie. Rogue is going to find her. He turns to “Hunt Luxuries” and Adira Hunt to help him. Ohh…. Adira Hunt is a Drag Queen. What a delicious character!!!(I hope there is a book about him).
There are reasons that Ivy is shy and quiet. She is a college student with issues. She dresses in costume to channel her Uma Cookie persona to deal with her issues. She sees Rogue again at a Drag Queen hangout where he is performing with Adira. They have a very steamy encounter in the dressing room, hot, hot, hot.
Where will this go, is Rogue imagining this intriguing woman? He needs to find her!
I could not put this book down! I had to find out about Ivy/Uma and Rogue. There are surprising twists and complications. You must start the series with Hollywood Rebel and then grab this one you will not be disappointed. I am waiting until the next book, impatiently.

Now his brother Rebel is in love with Summer, Rogue is back to sowing his oats. Shot in the bottom by an angry father Rogue is running for his life & is picked up by a woman dressed as the Princess from Frozen. He's losing a lot of blood & the woman drops him at the hospital. A few days after being discharged he bumps into her again dressed as a different Disney Princess. The mysterious woman will only give her name as Uma Cookie. Rebel becomes obsessed with discovering her true identity but his family fear for his mental health convinced he's made her up. Ivy has been in love with Rebel from afar for a few years since she saw him visiting his mother in the same mental health clinic she herself was a patient. Ivy is shy & has lived in the shadow of her famous actor brother who happens to be the Maddox brothers worst enemy. Somehow she & Rogue keep meeting & whilst disgusied as different Princess characters Ivy finds a new confidence she doesn't possess as Ivy. However with the Maddox family helping their friend Ro admit publicly that the Golden boy actor Rebel went to prison for beating to a pulp had raped her they are all in danger. Especially as Ivy's biggest secret is that said deranged popular actor is her brother...........
I loved Rebel & Summer's story so much but his twin Rogue & Ivy's story is just as good.

So when I started this book, I definitely didn’t realize it was going to end on a cliffhanger and there was going to be three more additional books before the conclusion of the story for Rogue and Ivy. With that being said, it now makes sense in regards to the pacing of the book.

For me it seemed to drag but it made sense as that Ivy is dealing with some mental health issues and needs to overcome those before she fully commits to being with Rogue. I did enjoy Rogue and Ivy’s moments together so I definitely look forward to finishing their story. But man, I hate going into a book and not knowing or not realizing it’s gonna end on a cliffhanger.

I can’t wait to see more interactions of the friend group together and I really think Adira needs to have Rebel, Rogue and Riot all commit to doing something at the Mojito Bar dressed in dragged. I could see that being super fun time if the group of everyone.

The next Maddox brother finds love

After he’s shot, heartthrob Rogue Maddox runs into the street and is saved by-Elsa? That’s right, Elsa from Frozen, or at least a woman dressed up as her. But when he wakes up from surgery, she’s nowhere to be found. After several more run ins with the same woman, dressed as a fictional character each time, it leads his family to believe he’s hallucinating. What else can they think when he’s the only one that seems to be able to see her?

Ivy has her own reasons to want to stay invisible. She’s been traumatized by both her father’s sudden death and the cruel, controlling people her mother and brother are. The only one that seems to want what’s best for her is her cousin. And he’s a drag queen that most of their family has turned their backs on.

Warning: Cliffhanger

Rouge Maddox is a Hollywood star. He likes being single and playing the field.

Ivy Love is trying to better herself, trying to let herself heal after the death of her father. Her mother is impossible and her brother is a monster. Her best friend is her cousin who is also her roommate and kind of boss and a drag queen. She lives him dearly.

When Rouge's bed hopping ways gets him in some trouble the two find themselves in a life or death situation. Two strangers thrown together by circumstances outside of their control.

Ivy is the best character. I absolutely adore her. Ask the costumes and characters area great. I get being someone else in they instance trying to hide the real you especially when you are not in love with the real you and you have some work to do on yourself.

Story 1 of 2 for this couple.

Opposites attract

Well, I thought Rebel and Summer were opposites. But Rogue and Ivy are EXTREMELY opposites. As far apart as you can get. Poor Ivy is so shy it's painful. She dresses up in princess costumes, or in drag, to try and project her real self to the world. Rogue is so over the top, loud, charming, hilarious, and confident. I laughed so hard at how ridiculously silly he can be. It's really a Cinderella/Prince Charming retelling.

This is a cliffhanger. But luckily, I am late to this party, and several books have been released. Can't wait to find out what happens next.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️SPOILER ALERT ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

There are spicy moments in this book, but Ivy is still a virgin by the end of the book.

Not better than the first book

There was just too much of “Adira” in this book. Just too much drag period I thought that this was like reading an episode of Rue Paul’s drag show. The men were made too effeminate. I like reading about Alpha males! The author try’s too hard to make her male characters seem so accepting of non heterosexual people in my opinion. Okay we get it but so was turned off about the comments Adira was making about Rogue! It took most of the book for the couple to get together which was wasteful to me. I really hope the second book turns my opinions around because I loved Rebel and want to read Riot’s story!

I enjoyed this book. There is a raw sweetness to Ivy and Rogue's romance that pairs beautifully with the major heartstring tugging that the unfolding storyline and evolving relationship inspires. I really liked these two and honestly feel it is practically impossible not to. I was quickly pulled in and fiercely rooting for this duo. There is an amazing amount of fun and cuteness to be had, but make no mistake this book has some teeth, and the drama and twists are going to leave a mark, so be prepared for that. Also, try to brace for the cliffy ahead. I can't wait to dive into the next book ASAP! I am freely posting a frank review.

I KNEW. I JUST KNEW WHO THE BROTHER WAS BUT I HOPED I WAS WRONG.
I was not wrong.
And now I’m so stressed out I can’t catch my breath?????
I am going to wait until the next book comes out because the fourth one ends on another cliffhanger, and the stress of this story will be too much for me, dude. I will have to know how it ends and not stress even more.
So, I’m going to put a pin in this and not read the third book, and go to a rom-com instead because, as I said, I am STRESSED. Like wtf. I am SO STRESSED. Anxious. Nauseated. Lorrrtttttt
And Rogue is the goodest boy I swear 😭😭😭😭

Just finished my Advance copy read of Hollywood Rouge. I loved the story line and the personalities of the characters. I'm excited to read the next book that follows. I love how the author builds dynamic characters and shows how trauma of all shapes and sizes can affect different people in people in different ways. I also loved how she incorporated tiny bits from her other series into this book while also bringing back all the favorite characters from the first book.

I absolutely love these Maddox Boys!!

After reading about Rebel I couldn't wait for Rogue, where Rebel is stern and serious, Rough is polar opposite and I absolutely adore him, one thing they do have in common is they go for what they want and don't stop untill they get it.
I absolutely love Ivy and Rogues book, the emotion had me on high alert, the chemistry was palpable and so hot, once I started it I couldn't put it down.

This series is AMAZING and a must read.

Emotional roller coaster!!

This is the second book in this phenomenal series and this is Rogue and Ivy's story.
This is a well written story which has family, friendships, emotions, tension, secrets, intrigue, humour, witty banter, challenges, undeniable chemistry, and leads to an entertaining, and heartfelt addictive page turner.
This story ends in a cliffhanger, and I cannot wait to read more about this couple.

COULD NOT PUT DOWN!

You know a book is good when you have several stops to make on the way home and you keep whipping it out to read! There’s so much depth to these two characters Rogue and Ivy/Uma. It was great to see the strides they made as individuals! I’m so disappointed that I have to wait until April for more!

Great

Ivy is quiet and keeps to herself unless she's in character as Uma. Rogue is your typical bad boy. Theh meet when Rogue runs into her car needing help, she helps but then bounces.  Rogue makes it known he will find his mystery woman again. When he finally does can he handle the real her? What will happen when Ivy's secrets come about? What will happen on the next book?

Complicated Cast ❤️👑🎬💙

This book dragged on for fat too long. It was hard to like and respect Ivy/Uma. It was obvious who she was going to be related to, but it took the last two pages to get there.

I still like the Maddox brothers, which is what will keep me in this series, but let’s hope Ivy grows a backbone.

I am so waiting for book two. This whole series is amazing. Ivy is shy, feels invisible and can only talk to Rogue while dressed in drag. But as they get to know each other, she is able to slowly come out of her shell. Only for secrets she’s keeping to threaten any chance of a HEA.

Well, he caught himself a Love alright. I really hope that she tells him the truth sooner rather than later. Because it will only make it worse. She can't help who her family is, but she can see what a monster he is.

Totally ends on a cliffhanger! Great story overall, with so many ups and downs along the way. Love the continuation of the characters from the prior book, and how they've all grown. Good spice when it happens 😁🔥🔥

This story had so much promise, but dragged on for so long that I was kind of tired of it by the end. The fact that it's apparently a trilogy didn't help - it could have easily been one book or two at most.
