My dragon quad has claimed our territory and rightful place as leaders of Twisted Flames MC.
All that’s left is to claim our mate, but we lost her twenty-one years ago.
We think all hope is lost, that she’s gone forever, until we find a woman collapsed in an alleyway of our city.
She’s ours, but she doesn’t know it yet.
There’s a lot she doesn’t know, and what she does know, makes her fight our bond.
But when it comes to her, we have all the patience in the world.
We already lost her once, and we won’t be letting her out of our grasp again.
She’s ours now and forever.
Inferno is a standalone reverse harem novel that can be read independently from the rest of the shared world. It features a sheltered, sweet, but misled FMC and the four possessive dragons who will do anything to save her from herself and keep her at her rightful place, by their side. Inferno is intended for mature audiences.
MC Syndicates is a shared universe, crafted by a set of USA Today and International Bestselling authors, that feature an array of paranormal species, savage dominant men, and strong heroines. These stories are all set in the same world and can be read within any order.
MC Syndicates by the following authors:
Inferno by R.L. Caulder and M. Sinclair Death Warden by Debbie Cassidy Sin and Salvation by Cate Corvin and Melora François Dark Paradise by Ann Denton and Katie May Rapture by Mila Young and CR Jane Stone Will by Albany Walker
M. Sinclair is a USA Today Best-Selling Author who can be found writing or thinking about her characters and plots nearly every moment of the day. With over 65 published works since her debut in 2019, her work spans from paranormal to contemporary romance rooted in extensive world-building and deep character development. M. Sinclair believes there is enough room for all types of heroines in this world, and that being saved is just as important as saving others.
Just remember to love cats... that's not negotiable.
3.5 stars. This was super interesting. I really enjoyed it.
The guys are all gruff and dominant, but still come off extremely sweet for their mate.
The plot was fun and also a bit heartbreaking. This was a bit of a slow burn, which isn’t usually my favorite, but in this case it made a lot of sense. Thea’s world is sort of imploding by even being in the guy’s territory at all, so learning to trust them and her instincts is difficult for her to wrap her brain around.
I wish we got a bit more time getting to know them all, but I really enjoyed it. Oh and the MC aspect. It was SUPER light. They’re dragons, they have fated mates, so there’s none of the usual bullshit with ‘club girls’ and all that, only mates are allowed in the clubhouse. And there didn’t seem to be any ‘prospects’ either. You’re either in the club, or you’re not because they all have to take a blood oath to be there. So there really wasn’t much about it that made it an ‘MC’ book except the motorcycles themselves. Which, I’ll admit, are super freaking cool. They’re bonded to their riders so they’re sort of alive, an extension of each of their dragons. So cool.
Either way, I had a good time. I’m glad I picked it up. I think it’ll be fun to see what the other MCs are like in the next books.
This was a very lazily thrown together novella. There was almost no world building, just a couple of barely there info dumps. There was no real character development, just 2 dimensional caricatures. There was very little relationship building, just insta mates/lust. It was already a few really overdone tropes, mate stolen at birth raised to think she's something different, alphas who soften only for their mate, etc..... but there was nothing to make it stand out. There were incorrectly used homophones and apostrophes, so even the editing was lazy. The authors did the bare minimum to coble together something and failed at creating anything worthwhile. I'm rather finished with both authors after this, they were individually on thin ice due to issues in their solo works, so this is the final straw for me.
I know this is supposed to be some hot reverse harem shifter book and some of the ideas in the plot are pretty nifty -- like soulbound motorcycles that change color -- but overall the book is childish and simplistic in its language and delivery and severely lacks plot development and any level of realism or maturity in the female lead's responses and thoughts. Most irritating was that the female lead was so pathetic in her inner monologues, constantly whining and fretting about just stupid things that no adult taking the situation seriously would think about in that situation. The unrealistic responses coupled with the childish whining makes the story immediately start to feel like an insta-love with some half-hearted (if that) resistance, which I detest, since I prefer my female heroines with some real fight and a healthy dose of grit and a lot less whine.
To illustrate let's recap the short second and third chapters: she wakes up naked and in pain in an alley in some strange man's arms with another strange man looking on; trying to run away she grabs a knife holstered on the one holding her and stabs him in the stomach, but can't run; watches the fellow she stabbed heal instantaneously realizing this whole thing is very bizarre and she should probably get the heck out of dodge while she has a chance, but still doesn't run away; then she stands around so she can ask them how he healed from her violent but half-hearted failure at escape; they drag her toward the end of the alley where one of them shifts into his dragon form, which is surprising to her because she didn't know shifters existed but instead of really reacting to the shock and fear she describes feeling, she pets him; he breathes on her, she says it's life-changing and golly, 'I stabbed you and tried to run and you change into big mythical beasts, but I'm not afraid of you anymore and golly dragons are just awesome even though I had no idea shifters are dragons existed and I woke up naked and hurt not knowing where I was, I trust you implicitly and everything's just right with the world and peaceful,' and that's where we are -- cue the tears while standing covered only in one of their oversized hoodies no underwear, nor socks, shoes etc.
Nah, more accurately, cue the screeching record scratch -- what just happened here? I'm supposed to be captivated by that and believe it? It's just ridiculous. How about some character development, some plot development, honestly -- what the heck happened here, those were enough plot points if properly developed for half a book, but in less than two chapters? Needless to say I didn't get to any romance much less sexual intimacy because I didn't make it past that scene. It was just too much, her thoughts too childish and too ridiculous, the responses to what she was said she was feeling (terror) especially given such a dire situation, then what she ended up doing, was just too incongruous, it was just too, too! And I'm not buying any fight in her against much of anything despite what the synopsis indicates given that opening and the female lead's lackluster, weird responses. Worse even the thought of reading about sex with the childish, simplistic language and pollyanna-ishness of the style actually made me uncomfortable. Just, nope, not for me. DNF
This could have been a 3-4⭐️ if it was a series or longer than 230 something pages. Although they were mates, they didn’t grow up together so the FMC had no clue who these guys were. That being said, the FMC had zero time to develop a relationship with 4 guys in such a small amount of pages.
Also, where are the parents of the guys? They are said to be “brothers” and they call each other as such but only two were described as having similar features. Are they brothers or are they not? If so, why was this topic never touched on or talked about how they grew up? I felt no connection towards them.
Safety: • FMC is a virgin and all virgin harem (they grew up knowing she was their mate so there was no one else for them) • no OM/OW • 1 spice scene (maybe 2, I forgot) • no condoms >>> dragon pregnancy
Be prepared to a totally different MC romance than the usual one where the guys are total assh*les having sex with every b*tches of the club, where the FMC felt rejected, sad, and have to endure cruel comments or behaviors from the guys or other members of the club... Because this book is TOTALLY DIFFERENT! Here the guys are dragon shifters who have lost their mate during an attack from witches. The witches have stolen her from them while they were only children. So imagine how the guys would feel when 21 years later they finally found her!💕💕💕 Only sweetness, dedication, and love here. Not betrayal, cheating, or cruelness from the guys. There is still of course a plot, which is somewhat interesting.
Knowing I never read MC romance due to all the aspects I mentioned above, I was really happy about how this book talks about it.
RL Caulder and M. Sinclair proved again why they’re authors I enjoy on both an individual and combined level. I always worry about how a story will flow when two authors collaborate, sometimes you can tell who wrote what, but this duo created a seamless flowing story that I enjoyed.
This book is a stand-alone co-authored by the talented duo that will be featured in a interconnected world with other authors. This book focuses on Thea and her harem of growly and possessive biker dragons.
After an incident leaves Thea alone and hurt in an alley, our growly dragons come to her rescue. Little does Thea know they’ve been looking for her for quiet sometime and now that they have her they won’t be letting go.
For this being a short stand-alone there was good plot, character development, and some yummy spicy moments. I would have liked more time to get to know the guys, but our duo does a good job at creating a perception of each one that I enjoyed.
If you like growly possessive dragons, magic motorcycles, steam, and a hint of drama, and a sweet HEA then this book is for you.
This was a somewhat interesting Standalone read, the story was unique although the MC aspect seemed unnecessary and pointless. The guys are all brothers with black hair and blue eyes and similar personalities, it was one of those RH's where I had trouble telling some of them apart. I thought this would be a nice slower-burn read but, instead of spreading out the "mating" scenes throughout the book the author wrote them all as a group back-to-back mating session at the very end of the book after the plot had been concluded, and honestly, I was bored and skipped over most of it.
Great standalone. What do you get when you cross dragons with motorcycle clubs? You get Inferno, book 1 of the shared MC Syndicate world. Thea and her dragons face an uphill battle overcoming the lies she has spent her whole life living. They have to deal with betrayal to get their happy ending. The characters were well written and the story was engaging.
dnf 22%. I only got into 22 percent of the book and was so sick of reading she lived a sheltered life and that everything was her first time experiencing it. not really the type of book i except from m. sinclair.
Idk if maybe I just wasn't in the right mood but I was just really bored and underwhelmed the whole time. 🤷🏻♀️ I'll try other books by these authors though.
Inferno: Twisted Flames MC by M. Sinclair and R.L. Caulder is absolutely amazing from start to finish! These two authors are fabulous on their own and an even better duo. They are both very skilled at writing an engaging story, captivating characters, and scorching hot romance scenes. Inferno is a medium/fast burn reverse harem paranormal romance with an innocent, sweet, and resilient heroine that meets her harem of possessive sexy dragon shifters.
Thea is our female protagonist and is a likable kind-hearted young woman. She was raised by a coven a witches that she considers her family despite being human. She is treated well by the coven but Thea must donate her blood weekly to aid the coven when they are sick. She believes it is the least she can do in exchange for the coven saving her life as a baby. One day, they take too much blood, and Thea wakes up in an unknown forest naked and surrounded by dragon shifters. The men immediately recognize Thea as their fated mate. The problem? She was captured many years ago while she was just a dragon’s egg in a nest. It seems as everything Thea thought she knew about her past is a lie.
The men are Keegan, Barak, Aiden, and Cyrus. They are extremely protective, possessive, sweet, and gentle with Thea. Their relationships developed at a great pace. The men helped Thea every step of the way. I was really pleased with Thea’s growth throughout the book. I read this unique story in one sitting and am looking forward to future books in this universe!
Tropes: Reverse harem, fated mates, v heroine Heat: 4/5
Thea is as loyal (and naïve) as they come. She has dedicated her life to helping her family with weekly blood donations in order to help her witch community with the sickness only her blood can cure. Thea feels incredibly grateful that she was saved as a baby by these witches and wants to help, that is until she ends up passed out, nude in an alley from blood loss. The men who claim they are saving her also claim to be dragons. Thea’s life is suddenly turned upside down along with everything she thought she believed to be true.
I'm not sure what to say about this one. I was let down quite badly. Spoilers.
Concept here was cool. Mc gang, fated mates, rivals and a kidnapping, then it was done in the most incredibly boring way possible. The book is extremely repetitive, and we get little to no insight into the characters because we are on repeat about witches and her coming to terms with being a dragon.
It just fell extremely flat and I had to force myself to finish this one.
FMC is a Special Snowflake Bimbo. Yes, she suffers from brain washing, but the clues are slap you in the face obvious at times, and she responds by running away, pretending you didn’t say it, understand, or cry’s.
There is so much else I could complain about, but her helpless personality, and soft spoken words, that alone was enough to send me running.
I’m only giving it 2 ⭐️ and not 1, cause the writing was technically well done, and deserves acknowledging. Others may very well find this to their tastes.
I absolutely loved this book. The is amazing as she adjusts to all the new things she is learning. She comes out better then ever as she faces those who have betrayed her and the love of her new mates. Loved the ending and would love to see more of the characters in a future book.
What an awesome stand alone! I love this author duo and it's really nice to get a stand-alone since most of their books are longer series. As always, the book was superb and I will be coming back for more!
I don't know what it was, but the story seemed a little disjointed, like something was missing. For instance, why was this an mc book? It's like the authors said after the book was finished that they should make it a motorcycle club book and then added a minimum of elements to call it such. It was weird. So many more inconsistencies just like this.
Why did you read this book? It was a well rated RH.
What format did you read this book in? Read it as an ebook on Kindle.
Is this an educational book or a book for entertainment? I read this book for pure entertainment purposes.
What genres do you think this book belongs to? Chick Lit, Fantasy, Paranormal, Romance
What was your favorite part in the book? SPOILERS I think my favorite part were the idea of magically bonded motorcycles.
Who would you suggest this book to? Anyone who likes dragon shifters or RH romances.
What is your general opinion/ rating of this book? SPOILERS! I was disappointed with this book. The story started off interesting and different then it became too predictable. The predictability wouldn’t have been a problem if the author would have allowed more time for character development. All the love interest (except for a few minor traits) were identical and hard to tell apart. I found myself scanning the rest of the story instead of enjoying it like I did the first part of the book. Overall, not a bad RH romance, but unfortunately it not going to be something you haven’t read before if you’re familiar with the genre. Also if you’re an MC fan your not going to find any of the traditional MC drama in this book.
Are there any cliché scenes or concepts? SPOILERS There were a couple of common romance cliches. The main character was born special with special abilities. The love interests were her fated mates from birth so they insta-loved her when seeing her again. The main character gets herself kidnapped and taken by the bad guys because she decides to go off alone (even though there are bad people looking for her). The villainess wants power and does corrupt and non-sensical thing to get it. (There were better ways to get control of the city then just stealing the main characters blood.)
How intense are the intimacy scenes? Towards the later part of the book the intimacy scenes are detailed and spicy. MMFMM action. If your not into menage then I suggest skipping the later half of the book.
At what “burn” level is the romance? Overall, I would say medium.
Love interests, how many of them are there and what gender? There are four love interests, all male and dragon shifters. Barak the president of the MC, Aidan the Vice Pres, Cyrus the Sergeant at Arms, and Keegan the Enforcer.

How quickly a life can change in a blink of an eye. One minute Thea is with her family of witches, donating her blood weekly to keep an illness from overtaking them, and living out her life happy with those she feels love her. The next she is waking up in a dark alley with two handsome strangers looking at her like she was the second coming of Jesus. Then once they bring her home to recover from whatever ordeal she had gone through to cause her to wind up in a strange part of a city she knew nothing about she finds out there are two more men who look at her in much the same way. The possessive men confess that they are her mates and that she was stolen before she was even born. They had never thought to see her again and yet here she was. It was a lot to swallow, especially when everything Thea had known of her life and the world outside of her coven's home was completely different. But there is no denying the draw she has with each of them. As if they hold the key to her entire existence and that she couldn't take her next breath without them. But will Thea be able to figure out her past in hopes of having a future with these four delicious mates she never knew she had?
I devoured this book in a single night. It wasn't a long read but it was completely engaging. It was unlike anything I had ever read before and that is saying something since I was a hardcore paranormal romance girlie before I dove into contemporary. I think the male characters were every bit the possessive alphas they needed to be without being complete alphaholes.
Thea was interesting. I didn't find her as enjoyable as the men. She cried so often that I felt like I should make a drinking game out of it the next time I wanted to get blackout drunk. She was very soft and looking at the cover I never would have seen her as that. I would have thought she'd have been a badass who would have kicked her mates asses right along with their enemies. But she was incredibly meek which did get on my nerves a bit. She was praised at one point for seeming to be even stronger than the males but then she never actually showed her ability to be that. She would run to her men any chance something bad happened like a little mouse. Thea is the only reason this book wasn't a five star read for me.
But even with Thea not being my cup of tea the book was still stellar. I will happily be reading more of the books in this Syndicate world to see how they measure up to this one. But straight out the gate this was a good one to start with.
When it was first announced that M. Sinclair and R.L. Caulder were going to be a part of the multi-author series, MC Syndicates I was totally on board. The excitement for this series was unreal and some of my favorite authors were gonna be a part of it, and they did not disappoint. Inferno was everything, it checked all the boxes, it's a reverse harem, it's a paranormal MC, dragons, mating, and hot guys that are really sweet, plus it was told from multiple perspectives. Like I said, everything I wanted.
Thea was fantastic, I loved her so much. She was a combination of innocent, and sweet, but had moments of strength but not in the traditional sense. Thea was kept from the outside world so she knows nothing about how things work and her innocence at discovering new things was sweet. She was kinda shy and worried about things but she still opened up, speaking out loud most of her feelings. Thea also did a lot of internal inspection trying to figure out her feelings about things and then apply logic to the situation. I liked how open she was, with her feelings, to the situation she found herself in, to the truth she learned (even if not at first), and to the people she met.
It was good that she has amazing guys in her harem. Four dragons, all brothers, and leaders of the Twisted Flames MC and some of the sweetest guys I've read about. There's Barak, the club's president who is huge and has a tough guy aurora but is so kind and not scary as everyone thinks, Cyrus who is a bit of a grump but a cinnamon roll to Thea, and Aidan who is thoughtful but intense, and finally but not least Keegan, who is playful and maybe a little crazy. Thea doesn't have a bad one in the bunch, they're all fantastic, and reading from their perspectives plus their actions all prove how much they love Thea. Their past made my heart ache, they cherished Thea then lost her and never got over it, I'm so glad they got their second chances and that the bond between Thea and the guys grows throughout the book.
Caulder and Sinclair gave a pretty clear vision of the world, the city of Kolasi, the territories, and how things are run is very clear without being overwhelming, I can't wait to read the rest of the books. As for the story, it was great. First shout-out to the dragon's motorcycles, it was a unique aspect and I loved them. The story was fast-paced but didn't feel rushed and was very interesting. There was a villain I can't stand, betrayal, emotional manipulation, blood oaths, kidnapping, steam, an intense history, and a HEA.
Inferno is one of my favorite standalones of the year. I love Caulder and Sinclair as a writing team and I can't wait for more from them. I'm also looking forward to the rest of the MC Syndicates series. What other supernaturals are a part of this world and what situations are they gonna find themselves in?
I love love love fated mates books, and this book did it right: protective guys who recognise their mate instantly and are all about her from the moment they meet.
Because it's a standalone, things move quickly in this book. The FMC, Thea, is understandably bewildered when they tell her that she's not only a dragon, she's their mate... because she grew up among witches and never even knew that shifters exist. Her responses feel authentic and she doesn't immediately believe them, even though she's drawn to them due to being their fated mate. I loved that she felt safe with them, and that she trusted her instincts despite not being able to explain why she felt that way.
I could have only two major gripes; firstly, I think we didn't really get a full sense of each guy's personality and they don't stand out from each other except for Barak (the prez) who had a raspy voice and didn't like to speak much. My second gripe is that the witches are supposed to be extra powerful, yet no magic was used whatsoever and they were defeated much too easily. Plus, their plan seemed to make no sense because it was like killing the goose who lays the golden eggs. And why do it now? There seemed no reason to suddenly have to do that when their "goose" had been compliant all these years. I wished for a bit more backstory and details.
My first minor gripe is that I really wanted to know who Esme was to the guys and what had happened to their parents. At first, I thought she might be their mom, but they didn't refer to her as such, so I have no idea who she is and why she was the one who was chosen to take care of Thea when Thea arrived at their clubhouse. I wondered why Thea didn't get to meet their parents, although I guess if their parents had still been alive, Barak probably wouldn't be prez.
My second minor gripe is that it's wonderful that the guys had waited for their fated mate (meaning that they were virgins), yet they all seem to be stellar lovers. They don't fumble, there's no uncertainty, no asking her, "Is this what you want?" or "Do you like this?" I mean, if they haven't had experience with other women, wouldn't they be a little more tentative? Even if they'd watched p0rn or looked at books, doing it for real is different, and they were so focused on her pleasure, so they would want to know they were doing it right, wouldn't they? They just seemed too confident in the bedroom for guys with no actual experience.
At least in this shifter book, there is actual shifting. The dragon lore is also very interesting. As the guys are all brothers, there is no crossing swords but they do love on her together. Having read a lot of shifter books, I liked this one because it was different from the norm, plus... you know... fated mates.
Thea has been raised up by witches that saved her as a child. So discovering that something in her blood helps those she considers family, Thea willingly donates often to her community. Lately though, she’s been feeling an urge to wander and explore the outside world. Problem is, doing that leaves the probability of someone dying without her blood, on top of the fact that she’s been told the outside world is full of monsters that will kill indiscriminately.
It seems that choice gets taken from her though, when she suddenly wakes up with no memory of how she came to be surrounded by warehouses… and 2 very large men. What follows will leave Thea hurting in more ways than one… but it also gives her the greatest chance for ever lasting love and happiness.
This is a standalone inasmuch that there is an HEA but it has an overarching storyline between 2 very good authors, so I believe with each book there will be a different set of characters, all with their own HEA’s
I enjoyed this one. Thea was a mix of naive and suspicious in nature. I was happy to see she didn’t just accept everything told to her at face value, but questioned things instead. And I liked the fact that she spoke up about why she felt that way. I also truly liked that she didn’t just blindly stick to her guns and ignore, but listened to the other sides and gave serious consideration to everything.
I loved the guys in this. Keegan, Cyrus, Barak and Aiden. (Sigh) These guys… At times possessive and bossy but ultimately so damn caring for Thea. Their need to protect her could have made a mess of things but outside people kind of helped smooth that out… and Thea made herself heard when those outsiders weren’t around. And the guys listened to her instead of doing the whole “there, there” (pat-pat) condescending thing lol
I absolutely LOVED the epilogues (yes, plural) with the amount of time that passed between each one!
This was a damn good read and I’m excited to see what the next ones bring.
Another wonderful read from 2 wonderful authors. I love when they collaborate because I know it’s going to be a really good story. I was happy to learn this was a stand-alone book within the Syndicate World and I wouldn’t need to wait (impatiently 😂) for another book. This story starts with Thea, a normal human, living among a coven witches that found her as a baby and was keeping her safe from the outside world full of their horrible enemies. Since she was young, she was told her blood kept the coven healthy and would happily donate blood to help her family. While donating more blood to her family she blacks out, and then wakes up with no memory of where she is or how she got there, or why she is surrounded by two large, unknown men. With no other real options and with assurances she will be safe, she goes home with the men. When what she learns turns her entire world upside down, who will she believe? Will it be the 4 men she just met that she feels an odd connection with, or the people who have raised her for her entire life? I loved the storyline of this book and how it was unique from others I’ve read. I liked the characters and how their relationships developed throughout the story. I enjoyed a fmc that was already strong, but just needed to brought out of her shell. I liked that she didn’t just go along with everything and questioned what was happening, and also wanted to go along and be involved instead of coddled. I loved the guys and how protective and possessive they were of her while still allowing her to be her own person. The only thing that I wish there was more of is information about the MC and it’s inner workings. This is a book set in an MC world, but unless it directly involved the fmc, I didn’t feel like we learned much about it. Overall though, this was a great story and definitely worth the read. You won’t be disappointed.
