I think I hate him. But I know I want him to kiss me.

I need answers about my past and my magic. But more than anything, I need answers about Drakon, the first and most powerful vampire. He’s my fated mate, and I want to kiss him as much as I want to kill him.

He feels the same about me. To complicate the insane attraction between us, the only way for him to survive is if he drinks my blood every day for the rest of our lives.

He refuses to do so, and I don’t know if I can handle that kind of commitment. But can I live a life without him?

As my mortal enemies stalk me in the waking world and the dream world, Drakon and I set off to unravel the mystery of our past. Danger stalks us at every turn, and its going to take everything we have to survive.

Kiss Me is the final book in the Vampire Bride trilogy. If you like kickbutt heroines, powerful heroes, humor, and enemies-to-lovers, then this is the series for you.

description

Before becoming a writer, Linsey was an archaeologist who studied shipwrecks in all kinds of water, from the tropics to muddy rivers (and she has a distinct preference for one over the other). After a decade of tromping around in search of old bits of stuff, she settled down to start penning her own adventure novels and is freaking delighted that people seem to like them. Since life is better with a little (or a lot of) magic, she writes urban fantasy and paranormal romance.

I was so angry when I finished this book, I wanted to throw things. Why, you ask, was it bad? No, it was the last in the series. Putting that aside, this latest and last in the series is filled with the action you expect from this author. Mac is on a hunt for her father, and along the way she finds more than she bargained for. There was big secret revealed that was just so touching and romantic, I almost cried. This was a great and well-written end to the series, and I can’t wait to see what (and about who!) the author comes up with next. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

“Oh my god, there’s a really terrible thing we might encounter”
“Don’t worry, I can make a potion to counter this very specific thing.”
“Oh no, this other thing!”
“Here’s a magic thing for that, too.”
“Oh, well can you help Drakon?”
“Oh, er, well, the plot says no. Sorry”

and then it becomes really mushy and sappy

negative stars. I need to stop reading this author.

I'm not saying I read this book purely for the hopes of smut...but that's exactly what happened. Twas a bit underwhelming to be honest basically half a page of it but whatever.
The story was EXCELLENT though, loved it all the way through. The ending felt a little rushed and a tad bit anticlimactic but hey it was still good and would totally recommend.

Another great series!

Love the ending to Mac’s story! Can’t wait to see which character in Guild City will star in the next series. Love this world and the characters so much, excited to see where their next adventure takes them!

Feels repetitive

Something about this trilogy just felt a little repetitive - almost like Carrow’s. There were some minor plot differences but overall this didn’t feel new or exciting compared to the others. Still an enjoyable read, but if you read the others in the series it’s a little similar to their formula.

This was a great series!

I really enjoyed this series, but not quite as much as the five book series about Eve and Lachland. That set of books was fantastic! One thing I've noticed that the author, Linsey Hall, writes in her stories when a character is asking another if they're ok is, "are you all right?" never, "are you ok?", or "how are you feeling/doing?" it's always "are you all right?" And in a story where there's a lot of fighting and action, that question gets asked A LOT! It's just a little annoying, especially with how eloquently she writes.

I really enjoyed the two main characters in this series. I'm not usually one for vamps, but Drakon sounds absolutely devine, I would love to have me a man like that. Mac seems to be beautiful, intelligent, and kickass. I wouldn't mind being a little bit more like her, at least a little more kickass! Hahaha! It took me hardly any time at all to read all three books cause I couldn't put them down. I'm finding that happens with all of Linsey Hall's books, they're just so good!

I only gave this series 4⭐️s cause it wasn't quite as good as Eve's story, but these are still the best books I've read to date, and I've never made that claim before! I want to keep on reading them so I can find out what happens to whom next, but the more I read, the faster I get to running out of Linsey Hall books to read. It's catch 22!

This series has adventure, mystery, love, hate, fighting, sex, suspense, magic, humour, sadness, action, trials, friendship, murders, and a HEA. I'd recommend this series to anyone who wants to read a really great story, and it leads to more great stories! Enjoy!

Good series

I liked this series; it’s apart of a great universe that I really enjoy. As we follow more characters and they get their own trilogies, there is a bit of reuse (same animals for familiars and supernatural types for love interests), but still good.
One critique of this particular series is the writing of communication within the plot. Just because the FMC learns something (and by proxy the reader) does not automatically mean the love interest learns it. There weren’t scenes presenting critical information to the love interest but it was assumed that since the reader knew, then everything could progress. There are some pretty major miscommunication and information exchanges needed between character that never happened in this series. This happened all the way up to the end of this book; the main character learns a “why” which the love interest needs to hear. There would be no emotional connection otherwise, but he never gets it. It was pretty vital info to pass along. Even 1 line that said “and I told him everything” would have sufficed at that point. So, I hope to see more exchange between characters that are pursuing relationships not just between friends.

So this is the final instalment and we get answers about Mac, her parents and exactly who took her memory from her. I've got to say this book gives us a dysfunctional family that actually deserves to start with a capital D ! Poor Mac honestly deserved much better but luckily she's got loyal friends not to mention my favourite familiar ever written by this author. It's just a shame that Drakon keeps feeling he should push Mac away but we all know its a romance so somehow a happy ending is guaranteed !
I've actually put off writing this review because as much as I've enjoyed this trilogy I just felt the end and all the grand revelations happened very quickly and even now I'm not really sure that I'm totally convinced by everything. I think the author has written so many exciting, action fuelled stories that perhaps I just expected too much this time. So yes I'm glad they get their happy ending but this sadly wasn't my favourite book but then we have been spoiled by numerous exciting stories previously and I'm sure there's plenty more goodness still to come.
This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

An Epic Conclusion to a Three Part Story on Mac & Drakon

Mac is a resident if Guild City, A place where people of magical origins or having magic of some kind can live and be hidden from the mortal world next door in London. Drakon is the first vampire. Not one bitten by a master but created and no one not even him knows who did it and why. Mac has some minor powers like sight, A seer of sorts and can convince people to forget what they saw. Now in this epic conclusion, Drakon is close to being turned to granite for eternity, his soul trapped within. Mac and he are magical mates only if he admits and commits to loving her, he will drink her to the point of death and lose his immortality. Strong world building. This tale is centered on her trying to recover her lost memories and saving Drakon from himself and learning how to they can be together. After all, when they met he tried to kill her learning she had intombed him for five years before he broke loose. What could be a better premise for a storyline, right? No spoilers here just read books one and two and for that matter, read Eve's story, Carrie's and Seraphia first!

3 Cheers for a phenomenal ending

OK, it is a fact that all of Lindsey’s series end on a happy and high note. But it forever amazes me how she brings us to that point each and every time. Yes, her series may be formulaic, but they are nonetheless incredibly well written and always greatly enjoyable stories. So first let us shower praise for that because it must be an incredibly difficult challenge to maintain after so many series and individual books. Well done, my dear! Well done.

As for this book in particular, let me just say that the riddles’ answers posed throughout the series came as a total surprise, making this one of the most incredible stories since I first read “Ancient Magic,” which I had downloaded after seeing it listed on Freebooksy. By far it was one of the better choices I’ve made.

Thank you Lindsey, and may your imagination remain fertile ground for a multitude of surprises and joys for many years to come . (FYI: Don’t be fooled, it may sound quite wonderful and kind, but it’s truly a very, very selfish wish… Lol)

All I can tell you is that you should pick up this entire series, read it through and ENJOY!

Excellent Series!

Like all of the full Shadow Guild series, Mac's story is well written, full of magic and adventure in places based upon real places that exist. The women are powerful but vulnerable at the same time. They care deeply about their friends and other people and will go out of their way to protect the ones they love. We need more of these loving, respectful people in this world and it would be wonderful if there still were areas of real magic in this world. The storyline is strong, intriguing and catches you upon the first paragraph. Character development was great, but the only thing is the men the women loved were basically the same in build and looks. Too bad, there are people like me that are not pretty, and not perfectly shaped who also deserve good storylines, maybe someday Linsey? Anyway, I really enjoyed the complete series and characters and don't forget the interesting animal companions!!! Loved it all and can hardly wait until a new series is written. Thank you! Cynthia.

Too many conveniences and deus ex machinas that help the main duo overcome obstacles and move the plot forward. And it went like that throughout the entire trilogy, not just this book.

Also, as I mentioned in my review of the second book, nothing felt British in these books and everything felt North American, if that makes sense. A side character even used the word lollygagging at some point.

Still there were some interesting and entertaining moments here and there. Everything was tied up nicely in the end, though it felt somewhat rushed and the epilogue didn't add much either. Gotta admit Mac's and Drakon's endless "woe is me" whinings became a bit too much at some point. Thank goodness Drakon wasn't an abusive asshole though, which is not a high bar to clear anyway lol. And I still have some questions.

Writing was meh, as usual. Suspicion/instinct/gratitude etc flickered/rushed/shot etc through people, their minds, or their veins over 60 times. We have made my head spin and make my head spin on the same paragraph. I also noticed two similarly worded paragraphs on the same page. And there were sentences like this: I was sure I was.

I was tempted by the shiny covers but frankly, I don't think I'll read more by this author.

Anything in the Linsey Hall's Shadow Guild world gets my attention, keeps it, and makes me crave MORE❣️ The Vampire Bride trilogy is unexpected even though I've traversed the Shadow Guild's cast before, I knew Mac and her personality (not her history) so she didn't take me by surprise, no, it was Drakon - now he - was a revelation! I mean, he is The First Vampire... He's deadly, broody, has a broken moral compass, and is out for revenge - the usual suspects right? I didn't expect his introspection, his thoughtfulness, his downright... sweetness...Yeah, The First is part Prince Charming, part Killer.💋I love Mac and Drakon's story. It is different than what we've come to expect from the Shadow ladies and their leading men and exceptionally thrilling for its novelty!

Fairly boring

This series has gotten extremely predictable. I struggled through Eve’s books and hoped it would get better, but Mac’s story was so similar to Eve’s and even less interesting. There’s not much plot and it’s a boring scavenger hunt for “clues” that don’t end up meaning much. It feels like the author had an idea of the ending (which was decent—as was one storyline involving Drakon) and then had to include a lot of filler to get there. I like the author overall and have read almost all of her books, but this was a slog. Neither Mac nor Drakon have enough personality to make it interesting or fun. I’m fine with predictability but this story had so little substance and wasn’t fun enough to make up for it. Problems magically disappeared or evaporated. The writing is fine (grammar, etc.), but there just wasn’t any chemistry or spark

Perfect Ending

Sigh I think this was my favorite book of the whole trilogy 💖
As Mac and Drakon continue to look for answers to find her lost memories they're lead to a tomb in a wasteland which is meant to hold her mother under a powerful spell cast by her father wasn't expecting that truth bomb of who he was last book.
Their searches continued to turn up blanks leaving with more questions than answers but with the help of Macs friends and Drakon they were able to use the small clues they had to lead Mac to a place where the past and present connected revealing all her memories, Drakon finally received the answer as to who created him and that Mac hadn't locked him up out of her own will 💖
I don't want to spoil too much but it really was a beautiful unravel of the truth.
Sad it's finished...
Definitely Recommend Reading 📚

Reading the end of Mac and Drakon's story was bittersweet. This book wrapped up their journey spectacularly, and without any lingering questions. While I am sad there will be no more books about these two amazing characters, I did thoroughly enjoy reading Kiss Me .

This book began where the second book ended--Mac is still trying to uncover her missing memories, try and save Drakon, and uncover the mystery about who she really is. Honestly, I don't think anyone was expecting Mac to turn out to be the supernatural creature she was revealed to be! Her connection to Drakon is even tangled than we were originally led to believe.

While I am excited to see what Linsey Hall has next in-store, I really hope our favorite couples make cameos in future tales! What a great read!

I give nearly everything Lindsey Hall does 5 stars. I love her writing and characters, mystery, twists and turns of the stories. Her books are some of my favorite.

However, the stories are starting to get a little rote. Big bad, fight the fated mate bond, love these things I really do, but I’m missing specifically in Kiss Me, the relationship between Mac and Drakon. They are both such interesting characters but the story seemed very rushed, event to event to event, no real time with them and as soon as the villains were defeated the story ended. I want to see more of them together now once they get there.

That said I still love this world and all the characters in it. I would recommend any of her books.

Determined to put an end to the threat that loomed over them, Mac and Drakon continue their search for Ludovic in an adventure full of danger and magic. The answers to the questions that have plagued Mac for a long time were not as they expected but we see how everything falls into place. Mac was previously presented herself as an impulsive and humorous character and I was struck by the strange things that happened to her. I liked that Mac constantly reaffirms Drakon and looked for his wellbeing. Interesting and fun story with action, suspense, magic, intriguing challenges, strange characters, a funny familiar, the Guild City gang, romance and heated passion.

Wonderful read filled with adventure and love

Long awaited book and worth the wait. Loved every minute of reading the slow burn and the inevitable get together between the main characters. Final battle was surprisingly quick and not too twisty. Still a great read with new settings, creatures and ofcourse the badger stealing the show. Just love the familiars, missed reading about the raccoons. But as always the whole gang showed up to back Mac. Two members stories left too read. I wonder if we getting Q and B story. Highly recommended series (Start with the rebel to truly enjoy Mac and her friends adventures)

TheEnd of a Great Series

Kiss Me is the last of the three books that make up the Shadow Guild: Vampire Bride series. We have been following the story of Mac, a woman who finds out that her entire past memories are false and there is someone very powerful who is out to get her. With the help of Drakon, the first vampire, who wants to kill her for something that he says she did to him five years ago which she has no memory of. The story moves at a fast pace with new situations coming up for Mac and friends to solve. Lindsey Hall has once again written an excellent story that takes the reader on a twisting and turning adventure that you can’t put down. Enjoy.

New favorite series!

I love Mac so much more since this series. However, this one holds all her secrets to her past. It's amazing she turned out so well considering who her parents were. I was totally not prepared for what type of supernatural she was!I love Drakon. It was also shocking to find out who created him, the reason he was in the tomb and the way his story ends. Genevieve is my favorite familiar! She is so cool. She's classy, lethal, emotionally supportive & loves Drakon. I love this ending. However, I can't wait to see where the couple ends up living. And is Drakon keeps his castle.

Over so soon.

Mac and Drakon are racing against the clock. She must find her Mother in order to find her powers to fight of Ludovic, her Father. When she finds her mother she gains all her powers but, has to go figure out where exactly her is located in order to attack him. Things are never as easy as they seem and Drakon is quickly turning to granite at his refusal of Mac's blood. Can they figure it all out and save Drakon at the same time?

I loved this series. All the old characters are here nd Mac's story is awesome. Extremely well written and thoroughly entertaining. Would give more stars if I could. Highly recommend this book, series and all her others.

Awesome finale to the Vampire Bride Trilogy romance. Watching the wonderful characters interact and add their own personalities and magic to the story. The story evolved so smoothly into the wonderful ending. Drakon was a fantastic character always trying to protect his mate even from himself. Excellent story all three of the books keeps the reader thoroughly involved and turning pages quickly. Linsey Hall writes one of a kind story that you can’t help but want to read and hate to see the story end.

Very romantic

This book is very romantic. The frustrating part though, seems to be "why" Drakon didn't want to be with Mac, changing often. First he hates her for burying him. Then he can't tie her to him forever for her whole life. Then it's fear of losing his immortality. That could've been written better. But as a whole the story was entertaining and very romantic. The lack of vampire -like hindrances, such as sleeping all day, no heartbeat,or breathing, etc., was refreshing. Mac's strong female hero I loved! She was the hero, not the man in the story.

Kiss Me (Shadow Guild Vampire Bride Book 3)

Have now read all three books in this series and must say Lindsey Hall has fast become one of my favourite authors. Her books suck you in and spit you out exhausted after one heck of a ride. Can't wait to begin another of her series and if I've read them all then please write more. How about the remaining Shadow Guild friends ? Quinn and Beatrix ...

Linsey did it again. This wrapped up another semi-series for us readers. Mac's story was a lot of fun to read with plenty of adventures, a complicated love story and of course the big reveal regarding what Mac is and what happened to her memories. I simply loved this and while it's not my favorite - that honor goes to Seraphia and Hades trilogy - it's still up there. I highly recommend this book and often recommend this author. Linsey is one of my favorites.

Awesome book

I love everything about this book, from Mac and her special journey, to the love of her life. Plot twists where very clever and I loved how answers where slow to come to the burning questions driving me ever onward, didn't put the book down, read it all in a few hours......better than a film of two......cannot wait to see what this lovely author comes up with next, where will her imagination and he adventures take me

Mac and Drakon is an awesome couple. The push and pulls of emotions between the two has you on a roller coaster ride.
Mac is trying to recover her memories and save Drakon from turning to granite. Unknown to her is that only her blood will prevent that and Drakon does not want her to know.
Slowly her past is returning and what happens next keeps you on your toes.
This last book brings everything together and Linsey knocks yet another series out of the park!
