Red Rocket is the third installment in the Vegas Crush series by Brit DeMille aka Raine Miller. I'm a huge fan of sports romance books in general - but the hockey ones are my absolute favorites. I've read and loved everything this fantastic and versatile author has ever written - from her amazing historicals to her famous contemporary romance series. Red Rocket was another winner by Brit DeMille. I was highly entertained by the well-paced, engaging plot and great dialogue and totally enchanted by the endearing characters.
Viktor Demoskev is the Enforcer for the Vegas Crush. He is an ambitious and world-renowned hockey player who has earned the nickname The Mad Russian. Viktor loves playing hockey but he doesn't see himself as a celebrity. That's why he doesn't take selfies with fans or gives autographs - much to the public eye's dislike. He never cared about his reputation until he mets the gorgeous media coordinator of his team. Scarlett Woods is his wet dream come true but she's not interested in a fling. She has once been badly burned and let down by the people she loved most. The strict no fraternization policy at the Crush is a small issue compared to her conviction that Viktor is part of a gambling ring for the Russian Mafia. Earning her trust is going to be the biggest challenge he's ever faced. But Viktor won't give up until he has won the heart of the red-haired Vegas beauty.
Viktor Demoskev was still a bit of a mystery to me in the previous book. He seemed like a very arrogant and self-absorbed person. I'm so glad that my first impression of him was wrong. This hunk of a man may not be the chattiest and most outgoing guy but he had many great qualities. He was very protective and caring and showed with many small and big gestures how much he loved his Red Rocket. Viktor is a professional athlete who's no stranger to hard work. For many years hockey has been his top priority in life until he met and fell hard for a feisty, flirtatious redhead.
I was imagining his thick, sexy Russian accent in my head all the time while reading. And boy is this one a dirty talker who gives his all in order to keep the woman in his bed happy and satisfied.
Scarlett Woods is smart, funny and honest. Life has taught her to only rely on herself. She's been on her own for a very long time. Scarlett craves stability and safety. In Viktor she will not only find an excellent lover but also a kind, attentive and respectful partner. She truly adored his cultured gentleman behavior and commanding caveman personality since both appealed to her. Scarlett has early found out that the big mean brute image was only a facade he kept up on the ice. Their sexual chemistry was combustible and could have set the Crush hockey stadion on fire. Their funny banter made me laugh. These two were a match made in romance land heaven.
I've thoroughly enjoyed Red Rocket and highly recommend it to all lovers of this genre who appreciate a strong heroine and intriguing Alpha hero. Thank you Brit DeMille for another great story in this addictive series. I'm giving this one 5 stars and am shelfing it as a 2020 top favorite.

Red Rocket is book three in the Vegas Crush series and can be read as a standalone, but totally think it should be from the start, simply because the stories before this were just as amazing as this, But I have to say Viktor and Scarlett's story would have to be my favorite of the series so far.
Another fantastic read by Raine Miller aka Brit DeMille. I am loving Vegas Crush series so far.

I'm not diving into deep with this, because I think it needs to be experienced rather than me write a play by play...
At first, in precious books, I thought Viktor was a bit of a douche. He was cocky and arrogant in a way, a little self-center, but this book and the author prove me wrong. My first impression of him was wrong... Kind of. He's still pretty cocky and they don't call him The Mad Russian for no reason. But I could see the growth in him from being a side character to the main character and it was huge. There was so much more to this man and so much more to his story. He's protective, he is caring and at first, his life was all about hockey, and everything and anything relating to it. But when Scarlett comes into the picture.
Scarlett is a little feisty thing that has no issue being honest, she's strong-headed, smart, and a no bulls*it kind of person. She has never relied on others, she's been by herself for so long that the only person she could rely on was herself but deep down she craves more, she wants that stability she wants substance in life, she wants to feel protected and content and happy with someone, and Viktor is the perfect man for her. She embraces his alpha side, his rougher side, and his protective side and I think she finds comfort in it.
These two were perfect one another and I found myself completely captivated by them. Them as characters and their love story was very well developed and flowed so perfectly that I was found myself lost in the plot for hours. As the book progressed and got deeper into the plot, the more I saw changes in both characters and the more the two of them fell in place and formed a love that was not just sweet but damn, it was steamy and hot!
This was well written, it grabbed my attention from page one and completely had me spellbound until the last page of the book. I cannot fault anything other than I want more of these two.
All in all, it was heartfelt, steamy as hell, addictive and fun. I cannot recommend this enough, and the same is said about the previous books in the series.

I'm a die hard Raine Miller fan for years. She's one of the most talented and versatile authors in this business. Whatever she writes turns into pure gold. No matter if it's contemporary romance, historicals or hockey romance she always manages to put me under her spell.
Having loved the previous two books in the Vegas Crush series, I couldn't wait to dive into Red Rocket. Especially after Raine gave us a hint about whom this story will be about. My excitement was frankly speaking as huge as my expectations. Luckily my queen Raine didn't let me down! She delivered a sweet, sexy and highly entertaining read that made my heart soar! I loved the two main protagonists beyond words. They were perfect for each other. I already thought that I had a favorite couple in the Vegas Crush series, but Viktor and Scarlett came along and changed my mind!
Viktor Demoskev has never been a fan favorite. Being called the Mad Russian, he's earned his bad reputation by being Vegas Crush's brutal enforcer on the ice. Posing for pictures or signing autographs is not something he looks forward to. He prefers to concentrate on the game and doesn't care what others think about him. But everything changes the moment he runs into feisty redhead Scarlett who works in the team's PR departement. Now all he wants is to get a taste of the beauty he's named Red Rocket and can't stop thinking about. Unfortunately there are two things standing in his way: the strict no-fraternization policy of the club and Scarlett's suspicion that Viktor must be part of a gambling ring for the Russian Mafia. Luckily Viktor enjoys a good fight and nothing is going to stop him to win her heart.
Despite Viktor's tarnished reputation, I knew that there is much more to this broody, intense alpha male than meets the eye. I loved watching Scarlett bringing him out of his shell. She was the only one who dared to look behind his mask and discover qualities inside him that nobody else has ever before. Who would have thought that Viktor could be a romantic and protective gentleman? It made me love him even harder!
Scarlett was a fierce, sassy heroine who despite being dealt terrible cards in life chose to fight for a better future. All the heartbreak she suffered at a young age made my heart break for her! She had a bad dating history and really deserved a great guy who would protect and cherish her like Viktor did. I loved watching them slowly fall for each other. They were inevitable because their chemistry was out of this world!
Now everyone go and pick up this book, you won't regret it. But be warned, this series is highly addictive! Don't worry if you haven't read any of the previous books. Red Rocket can be read and enjoyed as a standalone. Thank you dear Raine Miller for giving me another favorite book of yours which I'm putting straight on my top reads of 2020 shelf. 5 stars!

Well I loved Red Rocket! Viktor and Scarlett's story was just as amazing as the other two stories in the series, a little more so I think because Scarlett's past really touched my heart.
As always, Raine wrote an entertaining and heartfelt story that kept me engrossed from the beginning to the last page. I was so invested in Viktor and Scarlett, rooting for them the whole way. Would these two unlikely people find a way to build a future together? Viktor comes across to the world as an iron machine, "the Mad Russian" enforcer who buries his opponent on the ice and never smiles in public. Scarlett is a red headed beauty whose past has been fraught with tragedy and bad luck. She's doing everything she can to get ahead in life and hopefully leave her sad past behind her.
The attraction between Viktor and Scarlett is mutual, their chemistry undeniable. Can she crack his icy exterior? Can he get his "Red Rocket" to take a chance on him? The intimate scenes with Viktor and Scarlett were my favorites of the story. And I'm not even talking about the sexy scenes, although those were delicious too. I'm talking about when the curtains are drawn and these two people can just be themselves with each other. Viktor was quite the swoony charmer, in addition to be a dirty, sexy talker. Scarlett is a lucky, lucky girl.
I loved seeing the whole gang from the previous two books intertwined in this story. If you haven't met the others yet, I guarantee you will want to grab their books and start reading as soon as you finish Red Rocket.
I was sad to see the story end! I want so much more of Viktor and Scarlett! Luckily there are more books to come and I know that the Mad Russian and his Red Rocket will be popping up in those as well.
I loved reading about the Crush, this book reminds me so much of my beloved Vegas Golden Knights! And with them being on their bye week right now, Red Rocket satisfied my hockey craving while we wait for the teams to hit the ice again.

Red Rocket is book 3 in the Vegas Crush Hockey Series but like the previous books it can certainly be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone although I’m sure once you get a taste these extremely hot and caring players you will want to read the previous books.
I have to be honest and say Raine Miller is and will always be a go to author for me I love her writing and I love her characters so I was excited to get book 3 which is Viktor Demoskev and Scarlett Woods story and let me tell you it was everything I expected and so much more.
Viktor is the enforcer for the Vegas Crush, hockey is the first priority in his life no time for social media or taking selfies with fans because to him he is just doing the job he loves but when he meets the teams stand-in social media coordinator he finds his life turned around as he finds himself wanting more with the drop dead gorgeous woman who wants to make him a celebrity.....
Scarlett is not looking for a fling, the team has a no fraternisation policy and even without this rule she is worried about being burnt again. It’s not just the rules keeping her away from the man who sends her weak at the knees it’s his Russian background that has her convinced he is part of a gambling syndicate for the Russian Mob.....
A hot mysterious hero and a funny strong heroine are just a little part of this amazing read, it’s when you put the plot, the chemistry, the friendships, the love and the banter together that you get a great read. This was a book I did not want to end , that makes it special read and I’m looking forward to what’s coming next from this very talented and diverse author. I highly recommend Red Rocket.

AMAZING!!!!!! again Raine Miller writing as Brit Brit Demille was spectacular read, sexy and you really fall in love with the characters.
From the start I was totally swept in the hockey world and meet Viktor the Mad Russian hockey player at Crush Hockey team in Las Vegas, his accent, sexy man will captivate you from the start.
and of course we meet Scarlett (Red Rocket) beautiful PR media relations with the Crush organization. They have no-fraternization policy is an issue, but her past, makes her believe that Viktor is a part of a gambling ring for the Russian Mafia. And of course is a no no for her.
When you meet them, you will fall in love, they are different but alike in the same time, I really enjoy it, she have a past that can ruin everything, and of course Viktor a misunderstood, brooding teddy bear. You will fall in love with these two, I guarantee!!!!!

Absolutely loved the story of Viktor and Scarlett. I connected immediately with the characters and found myself immediately hooked despite the fact that I don't understand a bit of hockey. And that is find you don't have to, to enjoy this great book. This is my favorite in the series so far. I just fell in love with both characters. Scarlett, a hard-working woman who has been through a lot in her life, a survivor and a fighter. Viktor, I could totally see his soft side when it came to Scarlett. Loved how he treated her and how different he was with her. It is always a joy to read Raine Miller and let her take you to her HEA's through her characters. I especially loved the one she gave Viktor and Scarlett!

I was so looking forward to this as I have a love for hockey and Raine Miller truly knows how to mix business and pleasure within the hockey world particularly in the Crush hockey team in Las Vegas. This hockey read is the third story in the Vegas Crush series but a complete standalone. It is Viktor and Scarlett's story and oh what a story it is, you don't want to miss this one.
They call Viktor the Mad Russian hockey player, the Enforcer but in fact you will find he is the big teddy bear to his Scarlett. He oozes charm and sexiness with his Russian accent while trying to pursue the lovely red haired Scarlett - Red Rocket - a feisty PR media relations with the Crush organization. These two are so different from one another yet are a perfect match and compliment each other.
I fell in love with both these characters instantly. They both have difficult, emotional pasts with many issues and burdens to deal with but together their chemistry, passion, love and hot sex is explosive. You are taken on an adventure with intrigue and mystery and learn how love and forgiveness outweigh the risks of masking their pain.

5 star Review Red Rocket (Vegas Crush #3) by Brit DeMille
The third book in the series and can definitely be read as a stand alone, although since this is only the third book, why not one click the first two as well.
Viktor Demoskev, what a hot and sexy hockey player this man is. I think I may have a new crush, he really ticked the boxes for me and the woman that tamed him, Scarlett Woods was the perfect partner for him.
I loved everything about Viktor and Scarlett, both separately and together. I loved how sassy Scarlett was and Viktor, there is so much more to him than just a hockey player.
Seeing familiar faces just added to my reading enjoyment. The banter and the chase as Viktor and Scarlett dance around their feelings was addictive.
Hockey series have become my all time favourite sport to read about and Raine Miller writing as Brit De Mille has certainly raised the bar. I love her style of writing and the story she wove had me captivated from the first to the last chapter.

I was super excited to read Red Rocket. I've read all of Raine's Blackstone books, so I had a high expectation with this series. I was not disappointed. This book can be read as a standalone or in order with the other books in the series. You are given enough backstory for the other characters that you don't feel like you are missing information.
I love how independent Scarlett is, and how we are given insight into her vulnerabilities. Viktor is seen as a tough guy who has the nickname "Mad Russian" for a reason. Once he and Scarlett begin getting to know each other, thanks to Georg and Pam's engagement/wedding parties, Viktor begins to soften.
I truly enjoyed seeing this relationship unfold. I look forward to reading more books written by Raine as Brit DeMille!

Raine Miller writing as Brit DeMille!!! This story had it all, romance, humor, and steam all mixed among some emotional scenes! Scarlett is a strong, feisty, independent woman, while Viktor at first appears to be a stoic, extremely no nonsense hockey player. Scarlett cracks his shell and their humorous encounters turn into more pretty quickly! I loved how they started out flirty, which led to a steamy connection, but they then realized there was more to explore to take it to the next level! The glimpses into past characters’ lives was perfect! I loved that this was set in the world of hockey, which always reminds me of my Dad, as he was a big Chicago Blackhawks fan! I can’t wait for the next in the series!

Scarlett Woods a smart and beautiful young women who has unfortunately had to deal with some rather horrible situations, and learn to only depend on herself.
Ok so this is my first book by Rain Miller, I won the ARC in a giveaway. Now that I've read it I have to go back and read the other two for this series. This book was amazing. The chemistry between Viktor and Scarlett was out of this world, they are perfect together. The banter between them was funny, and boy at all the steamyness all throughout this book. I loved how sweet he was with her at all times completely the opposite of what she expected. There was a great mix of sweet, sexy, sad, funny and flat out amazingly lovey dovey moments all rolled into one fantastic book. All in all I am in love with this story. I am so happy to have won the book and get to fall in love with a new series and Author. Its is a must read I highly recommend it.

You can just picture the big gorgeous Russian with his broken English trying to get across what he means and having a smile on your face while you do. Then there’s Scarlett, she’s had it tough but she is fun loving and quite the rambler. They are like chalk and cheese but when they get together they are a scream.
A light and fun read that will have you giggling like a school girl one minute then fanning yourself the next. Raine Miller writing as Brit DeMille has put together a fantastic read and an equally awesome series with Vegas Crush.

Red Rocket is so far the steamiest romance in Crush series. Viktor is coldhearted bastard, which does´t care about anything, except hockey. He doesn´t pose for fans, he isn´t polite to other player, he beat the shit of his opponents on ice. The transfer to Crush team softened little his hard egdes on ice, but still he is pretty scary.
Scarlett works in PR and knows, that the affair with the hockey player could cost her the job. And she has also her dark secret from past, who can destroy her future. Can she overcome her fears and try to find happiness second time?
The author gave us another great and heartouching story, which I really loved.

Once again, Brit DeMille has scorched the ice right off the Vegas Crush ice rink! Viktor and Scarlett, his Red Rocket, have a blazing romance with a bit of mystery woven in. Not only do you get to see some of the Vegas sights, you also get a glimpse of Russia! And catch up on previous characters to see how they are doing and meeting some new ones, who I hope will get their own story someday (Daisy… will it be Sid or could it be the Lothario Tyler?) You do not want to miss this sexy adventure for Scarlett and Viktor’s happily ever after!

I don’t often read sports romance but when I heard Raine Miller was writing a hockey themed romance as Brit Demille I jumped at the chance to get on that one. As a Canadian, hockey is part of my blood and I thoroughly enjoyed Raine’s take on the NHL with Russian comrades all playing for the same Las Vegas team.
Viktor and Scarlett may be from different worlds but now that their lives are revolving in the same circles, life is throwing them together. Scarlett isn’t looking for a man, she has her guard up trying to keep her broken heart from shattering further. He is an enforcer on the ice but clumsy with the ladies, except in the bedroom. This is the place where talking is left to the bare minimum and the temperature in the room rises quickly.
While Scarlett works to earn Viktor more points in the public eye, Viktor goes to work turning up the charm as best he can to soften Scarlett’s edges. His broken English is adorable. He made me giggle a little and swoon a lot. Her ridiculous suspicions and accusations make him laugh but he goes to work proving to her he is clean as a whistle and ready to be the man she needs in her life.
Raine takes us on a sweet romantic journey while we travel from the USA to Russia visiting the sights of Moscow and Sochi. Some crazy things have happened in Scarlett’s life and Viktor turns out to be just the man who can put all the puzzle pieces together for her. I would have liked a little more suspense, drama, and or angst to this story. There was definitely opportunity to bring those elements into the book. At times I felt like that is where the author was taking us but it never really got too deep into anything major. While I enjoyed the story, it only gets a 3.5 from me.

I am a huge fan of ALL of Raine’s books but her series as Brit are even better, if that’s possible! Not only are you going to want to watch the actual Golden Knights play all season (the NHL team that resides in Vegas), you might find yourself looking for our sassy red head in the stands. Viktor and Scarlett are both amazing characters that have issues with their pasts. The way Viktor cares for Scarlett and helps her overcome it makes you believe in love again. If you haven’t read any of the Crush series start now! They are all stand alone so pick one and enjoy!

Viktor the "Mad Russian" Domeskv meets Scarlett who works for the Crush Hockey Team in media. He likes her Red hair and curvy body he calls her Red Rocket. He is a big strapping man with bulging muscles. He is intense and not so approachable. But he saw something in Scarlett that draws his attention. At first Scarlett tries to stay away from him. The attraction between these two is hot & intense. Their first encounter was explosive. Viktor is not interested in relationships his only goal in life is Hockey. Scarlett is traumatized from a past relationship and questions Viktor's activities. Scarlett helps Viktor to be more social. This big brute of a man shows his love of her by helping her resolve and deal with her trauma. Don't want to let out any spoilers but,ladies Viktor will rock your world. So good that Evan & Holly and Georg & Pam are in the story. Thanks Raine I loved this story. Wasn't a Hockey fan until i read these books.

I am a huge Raine Miller fan and she is the only author I have ever fangirled over. Whatever she writes I am there for ASAP! She is so versatile in her writing from historical romances to hot hockey books!

Scarlett seemed to know what she wanted in life, she could hold her own when it came to certain things. Viktor is her weakness!
Viktor is a character tell you what. He has no filter really and he will tell you what's on his mind. Oh and his dirty mouth!
Scarlett and Viktor have great banter, even when Viktor doesn't understand American slang. It was funny to read. I could hear the Russian accent as Viktor spoke, the sarcasm when Scarlett would explain certain things. Not only did they have great banter, their chemistry was off the hook.
The story line was great, have some tissues ready because I did get a little teary eyed.
I can't wait for the next book!

What an Amazing ride!!! This book has scored the ultimate goal.I really loved the heroine...Scarlett is feisty and outgoing but at the same time a girl next door at heart. Even though the events which she has undergone left her insecure and afraid, she took a brave step along with Victor and got her happy ending..Victor!! Victor!!! What I can say...the big and macho guy is soft as butter and melted both Scarlett's walls and my heart..I loved the way Victor pursued Scarlett.and the chemistry between them is off the charts...Its a definite re-read for me...Thanks Raine for this wonderful love story!!! Can't wait for next one in the series.

I love sports stories, and I loved Red Rocket. I enjoyed the first 2 books in the Vegas Crush series, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on #3, because I was curious about Viktor. We met him in the previous books, and he always got the "bad guy" part, he was the "Mad Russian" after all, so I was quite keen on getting to know him better. As for Scarlett, I also felt some kind of negative vibe from her so far. Red Rocket changed all that. Viktor is not the usual jock. In the beginning he is loner, he is brooding, never smiles and he seems annoyed by everything, and his only focus is hockey. He kind of reminded me of Arnold Schwarzenegger, in the 1988 movie Red Heat. lol. (God I feel old, knowing about that movie) But then came beautiful Scarlett, and he turned into this big, dirty talking, Russian, swoony teddy bear. The thing love does... I loved to read his POV, he made me chuckle. Also, it was great to see how he changed, because he was so different from the usual book Hero, and Raine, aka Brit did a good job when she wrote Viktor's parts. She totally turned into Viktor. Bonus points, for Holly and Evan, Pam and Georg. It was fun seeing them again. And now we have a third couple, and I am in love with them. So... If you need something fun, light, swoony and s*xy read this book. You are going to love Red Rocket.

I love sports stories, and I loved Red Rocket. I enjoyed the first 2 books in the Vegas Crush series, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on #3, because I was curious about Viktor. We met him in the previous books, and he always got the "bad guy" part, he was the "Mad Russian" after all, so I was quite keen on getting to know him better. As for Scarlett, I also felt some kind of negative vibe from her so far. Red Rocket changed all that. Viktor is not the usual jock. In the beginning he is loner, he is brooding, never smiles and he seems annoyed by everything, and his only focus is hockey. He kind of reminded me of Arnold Schwarzenegger, in the 1988 movie Red Heat. lol. (God I feel old, knowing about that movie) But then came beautiful Scarlett, and he turned into this big, dirty talking, Russian, swoony teddy bear. The thing love does... I loved to read his POV, he made me chuckle. Also, it was great to see how he changed, because he was so different from the usual book Hero, and Raine, aka Brit did a good job when she wrote Viktor's parts. She totally turned into Viktor. Bonus points, for Holly and Evan, Pam and Georg. It was fun seeing them again. And now we have a third couple, and I am in love with them. So... If you need something fun, light, swoony and s*xy read this book. You are going to love Red Rocket.

This is the first book I've read in the series and I can't wait to go back and read the others from the series.
A combination of hockey and a steamy romance is right up my alley! I loved Viktor and Scarlett. They seemed like total opposites but the two of them together were combustible!
Scarlett is skeptical of starting anything with Viktor. Sure she's had a crush on the strapping Russian but with her past, she's a little leary with getting involved with any man, much less a hockey player for the Vegas team she works for. She finally finds a place that feels like she belongs and with the company's no-fraternization rules, she's trying to stay away from the sexy Russian.
Viktor can't stop watching the fiery redhead who works for the team. There is just something about the woman that he can't shake. But he's about to leave for Russia for the summer league and he has a general rule to stay away from women. But after a weeklong party where the two of them are attending. Like I said these two are smoking hot together and Scarlett starts to let her guard down and tries to just be in the moment.
I love Viktor. Even though on the outside he seems to be all tough. He was a big softy inside when it came to Scarlett.
I really loved the story and how these two eventually come together. It was a fun, easy read that was full of really sexy, steamy moments.

I am in lust with Viktor Demoskev and Scarlett Woods. This couple complements each other perfectly. Viktor the oh so big Russian we've been waiting to meet and Scarlett the gorgeous adorable girl who gets to sample the whole package and what a package!!! Viktor plays for the Vegas Crush and Scarlett is one of their PR girls and we all know that the staff aren't allowed to fraternize until they do. The attraction is instant. Could it be love? Red Rocket is an entertaining read from start to finish. It's not heavy or complicated. It's a romance and it's a fun read. There is a little mystery along the way but alls well that ends well. What I really like about this series is we get to catch up with the other couples from the two previous books and it's just not a brief encounter. It gives the books a kind of family feel if that makes sense. If you love hockey players and a good romance this is the series for you and I would add that Brit DeMille aka Raine Miller is a saucy little minx and long may she be one.
