I'll win your freedom… but I'm going to own you in return.

Drake Winston
I've seen violence and heartbreak my whole life. Some say I have no heart. That I'm cold, calculating, and ruthless. Maybe that's true, but it's helped me become the divorce attorney men fear. My clients all say the same thing… I'm a dick. But I don't have to win their friendship to ensure they're set up for life—even if it means being a prick in and out of court.

I've closed myself off from all outside attachments. I've learned feelings make things messy and steer clear of getting involved with anyone. Until she walked into my office, needing my help.

I've seen her kind before. Sweet, innocent, and completely unprepared for the asshole they married to turn on them. She wants me to be a shark, but I don't think she realizes how far I'll go to win. Because this time it's different. This time I've found something I want.

I'll break every rule there is for her freedom. Only this time, the payment is her—body and soul.

"Love, Loyalty, and the occasional Gunshot."

Dori P is the naughtier, much dirtier half of USA Today Bestselling author LC Taylor. The bad girl Dori embraces her Italian side with heroic hitmen, decadent conflicted dons, and oh-so-f*ckable assassins trying to trade their devilish ways for salvation and the perfect woman to tie to their bed.

And F**k following the rules... this author is most definitely trigger-happy.

You know when you can’t put a book down and you don’t want to be interrupted? Well, that was me the whole time reading this book! I just read this book all the way through without quitting. I had to know how it ended!

I immediately knew from the synopsis that Drake would be closed off. He’s been dealt a bad hand. However, Drake has taken his past and done nothing but good. The one thing he doesn’t want… love with someone else. Once Rhiannon showed up, it was like his walls immediately came crashing down. It warmed my heart up to see this man open up. Honestly, he deserves the world.

Rhiannon is exactly the person that Drake needs. With everything that Drakes stands for, you immediately know what direction it’s going to go. Just like Drake, Rhiannon has been dealt a bad hand. She is honestly so brave and so strong, especially with everything that has happened. I just loved the connection between the characters. I loved them together.

At the end of the night, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and getting to see this play out. Although this book talks about hard things, I thought it played out very beautiful and wholesome. I recommend giving this book a chance, but please check trigger warnings.

Drake is the middle of the three Winston brothers, who are all successful in their respective fields: Gage, the oldest, is a respected ER physician; Roland, the youngest, is a rock star with his own band; and Drake is an extremely competent divorce attorney. After their abusive father killed their mother when Gage was only 12 and Drake 8, Gage, purely in self defense and in defense of others, shot and killed their father. The three brothers had an unshakable bond and vowed to only love one another and never let a woman into their hearts.

An occasion occurred when Gage was summoned to the hospital for a VIP patient, who turned out to be Rhiannon Carmichael, the young wife of judge Carmichael. Drake went with Gage to the hospital. The report was that she "....fell down the stairs..." but her injuries pointed to her being pushed. And she had an extensive record of "accidental injuries" over several years. Gage was suspicious and alerted Drake, who covertly gave the wife his business card. While she tried to ignore him, she did put the card in her pocket. By this time her one injured arm was secured in an immobilization cast. It was a serious injury, but it wasn't broken. Drake overheard her husband crudely criticize her and confronted him.

Rhiannon escapes her home one night and goes the closest place she knows...the address on Drake's business card. From there, things get very sticky. Drake becomes protective of Rhannon and even begins to emerge from his dark emotional prison. Tensions continue to rise, and you'll be holding your breath at the end.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. The author gives us a highly emotional ride throughout with a very satisfying HEA.

My goodness this book was soooo good! Ok now I said that let me get this out. I highly recommend this book and I’m sure the rest are gonna be fantastic as well BUT if you have triggers make sure to read them first. Even though this book talks about horrible things, the way Dori brings it to life is amazing. No I wouldn’t want to be in the position any of these characters have but the way Dori writes it is in your face blunt but with compassion…if that makes since.

Now to an amazing book with awesome characters. I love the love the brothers have for each other, especially with the life they were dealt with. Drake and Rhi are strong with chemistry. Just one look at her and his walls started to crumble. But they are both broken can anything come of it not to mention the judge!

I received this as an arc and this is my honest and voluntary review.

This story takes off quick, pulling you in and holding your attention from start to finish. It's dark, gritty, raw and hits you in unexpected ways. Drake is a man who's closed himself off from others but then Rhiannon walks into his life. It is in that instance everything changes. A whirlwind of things are set into motion. There's even a few issues and situations that are brought to the forefront exposing some truths. You'll be surprised with how it all goes down. It's an addictive read that I couldn't put down or get enough of. It has a well executed storyline and plot. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. It is a series that is off to a great start that I would recommend reading. Overall, an excellent story.

Once I started this book, I couldn't put it down. Drake and Rhiannon's story was intense and sizzling and dark and oh so juicy. Through all the ups and downs and truly despicable things that they've each been through, to be able to find that person who completes them and helps bring light back into their darkness was so cathartic. This book was an amazing start to what sounds like a very promising and exciting series. I can't wait for the next one!

When I tell you this book had me SAT, I mean it. 🥵
I am obsessed and absolutely loved drake. 🖤 we love a protective MMC. This book has spice, plot and a HEA. This was also super fast paced and kept me entertained. I only put it down because I had to work. Will definitely be reading more from this author. While I recommend reading, I don’t have any triggers. For those of you that do, check your triggers. 😊 happy reading. 🖤

Rhiannon and Drake are each other's light, to bring them out of very different darknesses. The Winston brothers are amazing men, considering their childhood. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them and look forward to Gage and Roland's stories. I like how their stories are happening simultaneously and appear interconnected.

This is the first book that I've read, that had gone into issues I have dealt with myself. It was a healing experience. Overall not a bad book for a quick read.

This one was so poorly written I feel badly even giving it a review. I’m not sure it fits its suggested genre. This is a thriller, kind of.
