She bested a serial killer. But she still isn’t safe.
Two months have passed since a serial killer tried to kidnap Audrey and murder her only remaining family.
Two months with safety and security in her grasp. Then a vicious mugger attacks Audrey in broad daylight. When authorities write the attack off as an attention-seeking stunt capitalizing on the Gemini Killer’s notoriety, Audrey vows to discover the truth herself. Was the attack really a singular act of violence? Or is someone even more sinister lurking in the shadows?
Frustrated by her isolation, sparks fly as Audrey digs up secrets better left buried. Knives are sharpened, lines drawn in the sand. But the consequences soon escalate beyond her wildest fears. This time, fighting back could cost Audrey more than she’s willing to pay.
Emily lives in sunny Southern California with her husband and two daughters. When she's not in her book dragon form devouring books, she can be found in the kitchen making homemade ice cream or baking something delicious. In addition to reading and writing, Emily loves watching police procedurals, playing with makeup, and cuddling with her two long-haired dachshunds Nestlé and Kiefer.
Another incredible book by Emily, with so many twists and turns. I can tell you that I didn’t see ANY of it coming. I was blown away until the end. Beautifully written. Beyond engaging. Could not put down. Thank you for allowing me to read this as an ARC!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What an amazing read! Just like it's predecessor, and all other books by this author, it is written beautifully and winds you into an intricate fast paced mystery. It was so, so good, I really enjoyed reading this!
I love the story line of this. The first book I struggled with a little just how it was written. Such a good twist on both books! Love the action and drama.
Don't Close Your Eyes is the second and last installment in the don’t look series. I really liked the first book and I was so excited for this one. And let me tell you it didn’t disappoint. I read the book in less than two days. It’s again a really good mystery and that turn. I could predict any of it and that is one of the most important things in mystery. I really liked the different relationships in this book and every bond was soo strong. The was one point that I liked more in this book than the other. The relationship between the sisters was wonderful and special. Also the relationship between their friend groups. I am really sad that this was the last book. But I am looking forward reading the next series from Emily Kazmierski. Thanks again for writing this amazing book.
“You still think that scar makes you less beautiful?” . “No. Maybe.” I look away. . In a blink, Esau stands toe to toe with me. His fingers skim over my jaw, up the side of my nose to where the line bisects my cheek. . His lips are a warm breeze over my skin, pressing gently on the white line that sometimes feels more like a giant, scarlet A. “You’re beautiful, Taryn. Don’t ever stop believing that.” . 🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪 . Don’t Close Your Eyes is out in the world!
I loved writing it, and I hope you enjoy reading the conclusion of the Hacienda crew’s story. These characters have my heart, always.
This is a totally gripping read. I could not put it down once I started. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and found myself second guessing every thought I had continuously. Can't wait to read what the author brings out next. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
I thoroughly enjoyed book one of this series, but this one was a slow start for me. Once the story started rolling though it flowed nicely. I found myself frustrated with the girls and some of their decisions. They didn't act like girls who's lives had been written n the line previously. I'm not sure that I connected as well with this storyline but toward the end I became completely invested in the story. The twist was entertaining and the ending was fantastic.
This is the second thriller in the Don't Look series. The first one was amazing, and this one was just as good!
It was the kind of book where you think you know what's going to happen, and boom! Major plot shift. I loved the sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat feeling as I read this. I just had to keep reading to find out what would happen!
I liked the first book more, this one seemed very all over the place for me. Everything with Lydia just seemed very random and like it didn’t exactly fit with everything going on and was just unnecessary and confusing. I enjoyed seeing more of the twins stories play out however, and enjoyed seeing the connections between them and the boys and Karen and Justin evolve and hearing how their story ends up.
