Who is Beezer? That’s what he wants to know! Now that the former prince of the Red Realm is permanently on Earth, away from his overlord father, the sky’s the limit. He can be anyone he wants to be! The only problem is—he’s not sure who that is just yet. But he’ll figure it out eventually.
Now that Summer Camp has arrived, it should be smooth sailing, right? Not exactly. Beezer’s siblings, Lucy and Dash, are acting like total weirdos. One minute they're fine and the next they’re behaving badly. It’s as if they’re possessed or something!
Their mom, Jessie, has just about had it with their antics, but when birds start falling from the sky, Beezer realizes something much scarier is happening. After consulting a mysterious book called the Crimson Codex, a frightening truth is revealed!
Now, with the help of his family, Beezer must stop an ancient prophecy from destroying everything as a dark secret from the past emerges.
This audiobook is for older children and younger teens. It contains some odd and vulgar phrases such as "badass" and "This place smells like butt!" and similar. The voice cast is good and the dialogue is not terrible. Wait. Scratch that. The dialogue is terrible, but this is a kid's story. I think kids will like it and there are enough side jokes delivered by the mother that most adults will enjoy it too.
I doubt I will listen to this audiobook again on my own, but I wouldn't mind listening if I was babysitting kids and they wanted to listen to it.
The second book starring Beezer, the son of Lucifer, sees Beezer settling into human life on Earth with his new family and doing normal family things … like summer camp!
Things get weird, though, when creepy things start happening, mysterious characters emerge, and Beezer’s siblings get possessed. Turns out that leaving the Red Realm is harder than Beezer thought, but maybe this is the chance for him to discover who he is meant to be.
At just barely over 2 hours, this audio-only book is a quick listen and should keep the kiddos busy. There are more slurping noises and some grating auto-tuned voices as part of the performance, but it didn’t seem to bother my 12-year-old at all.
This was such a fun audiobook. It was over really quickly so it’s nice if you want a quick story. I thought the ending was sweet and I kind of saw that plot twist coming. It was fun to return to the characters in the sequel and the dialogue of all the kids was very entertaining. I would not recommend listening to this while driving though, because there are some honking and siren noises that made me think I was being chased by the cops 😂 There are also lots of random loud noises which scared the crap out of me while I was driving so again, please listen to this at home 😂
Finished 11/3/21 - Full review to come! This was SO GOOD! 😭 I think I still like the first one a bit more, but I feel so proud of the fictional Beezer as a character for overcoming his abusive dad and maturing in this second one. I hope this is a full series!
A worthy follow up, equal of the first. It's a fun romp, with intresting woeldbuilding & a found family that melts my heart in their every interaction.
It's sweet, cute, clean, adventurous and good fun.
This is the second book in the duology. Like the first, it's quick and lighthearted. It revolves around a young Beelzebub who is learning to make his way through the human world, with the help of his adopted family.
Not quite as good as the first book, but it was still a fun distraction.
So fun Beezer, I was so happy to see this one in the originals, first one was so cool too and I had a blast this time around.
So we go with day camp and world domination on this one, we do have an interesting twist in this book regarding our protagonist, it was very wholesome and it helped to have something light to listen to while on traffic.
